Hey Lemon, why didn't you infuse the demon great hammer with fire? It still bounces of enemies but does 180 damage. There are enough souls around to do it from the start. I could even sdnd you a video of me doing it
I feel like this challenge would actually be pretty good in Dark Souls 2, mainly since every boss’s soul is transmutable into a weapon. Some can be be done in the lost bastielle, but very few. Once you get closer to the end game however, every other boss soul becomes transmutable in the… I forgot the name, but the place with all the spiders.
@@bearseekberserker1761 Thank you! I’m going to be honest, Brightstone Cove Tseldora may be one of my favourite areas. Not for the spiders, obviously! But for the area itself. Most of the world in Dark Souls 2 feels connected (minus the iron keep, the heck was that) and Brightstone Cove feels like a giant cave near Majula.
I don’t know why but right at the end I thought “What if he now uses Gwyn’s weapon to kill the Asylum Demon in NG+, thus completing the full cycle of bosses.” I know you smited it with the holiest of Fire Bombs and would easily kill it anyways, but would’ve been a fun little touch to see. Amazing video as always and thank you for the content!!
He'd need to be on NG++ (Providing he didn't want to cheat it in) to do that, as you can't leave the arena of gwyn, to go and transcend the weapon before NG+ , and you can't transcend until Late Anor Londo so...
The cursed great sword of Artoris is by far my favorite weapon in this game. The fact it scales in everything means I can just use it forever with my constant ng+'s
Despite the game telling you the cursed greatsword of artorias scales with int and faith, it doesn't. This is because it converts the magic split damage from the blessed version into physical damage, and in DS1, int and faith scaling only works for non physical damage, and str and dex scaling only works for physical damage. So if you want the actual scaling from all stats, you need to transmute it from a broken sword or straight sword hilt to get the blessed version.
A +15 great club or zweihander with buffs is stronger isn't it? At 66 str a +15 2 handed great club gives 666 damage and 1098 when buffed with sunlight blade using the dark Moon talisman with 99 faith. It was enough to cut kalameets tail with one r1
@@pezyg It does have the strongest divine bonus in the game, that's 40% extra damage against skeletons, crow demons, and the 2 giant slimes in new londo. It also has a unique 20% damage boost against darkwraiths and the four kings.
the obsidian greatswords aoe attack actually does magic damage, rather than fire, as well as the weapon being buffable and carrying that on to the aoe blast, i doubt you needed much extra help with centipede but that couldve been used for something else in the routing instead
Love the little jokes you spend time making, the enemy running up behind with torch with your scream as you sit at a bonfire. 8:29 just these little moments really bring the humor you wish to show. It does not go unnoticed Lemon.
So, there are two versions of Artorias’ great sword, one that’s cursed and one that’s not, in order to get the non cursed version (which does extra damage against abyss enemies including the Four Kings) you need to upgrade a broken straight sword specifically
There are actually 3 versions, the regular and cursed variants are gained via Sif, the 3rd is what you get from transmuting Artorias' soul which has a unique look similar to the tarnished version Artorias uses as opposed the the pristine version from Sif and it has it's own moveset based on Artorias' own instead of the stock greatsword moveset, which makes me wonder why Lemon went with the cursed variant instead of the DLC one for Manus despite the fact that if memory serves all 3 have the buff against Abyss enemies.
@sheo3316 the abyss greatsword is also arguably the best of the 3 too. Hella phys damage scaling off having humanity makes it crazy effective for a very long time
Sucks that we didn't get more of a chance to watch you use the Quelaag's Furysword, it's one of my personal favorites and one that I use in almost every Caster run because of the low physical stat requirements compared to it's high power and usefulness.

Honestly, my first play through of dark souls the original edition, changed me as a person. I wish people could go back in time and play it before hearing about it. I was like 10-11 when it came out and the internet wasn’t as big as it is now. I hadn’t heard that I was really hard, so any difficulty I encountered I attributed to my skill level, not the game being extra difficult. Amazing. My imagination combined with ds1’s sprinkling of lore was quite the experience. I became a man that day, when I walked away, refusing to link with the fire…
Aww, I’m a little disappointed Lemon didn’t use Gwyn’s sword on the NG+ Asylum Demon right at the end to bring things full circle. Really cool concept for a run, and a great watch
moonlight great sword has been featured in many fromsoft games, not counting the fact that it started in a not-souls-borne game but you could argue that that series is just the predecessor to souls-borne so those game are still within genre, even then the moonlight has been in games even outside of souls-borne genre games made by fromsoft
The technical marvel this game was when it came out on top of legendary gameplay, and impeccable game design, and then having awsome dlc, this studio is seriously dedicated to the way their games feel to play in all aspects
Fun DKS1 master race fact: The Gargoyle Halberd is akshewally *slightly* different than the normal halberd! The R1 is a vertical chop, making it pretty useful if you enjoy running polearms. That means it also benefits from the amazingly weird bug of instant R1 attacks when running through swamps, so enjoy insta-slamming the slugs and bugs in Blighttown! One of my PTDE PvP characters runs this weapon, and I can definitely recommend it :)
What I really like about your videos and channel in general is that nothing you do seems forced. Like you make these videos out of fun and because you genuinely want to. Thank you for that, and thank you for being you.
With the Taurus Demon jumping backwards, I also struggled with it for a while in one of my playthroughs, and I think I know why. I'm pretty sure he won't jump backwards if the jump will cause him to fall off. As soon as my angle on him was bad is when he'd always jump backwards and stay on. When I finally got it to work, he jumped backwards but then didn't fall until he stepped back for his next attack. Similarly, in the video it appears as though his jump didn't make him fall exactly, but he landed on a sloped hitbox and slid off after having already landed.
You're almost right - Taurus doesn't step back if his back is to the ledge, so what you do is you wait for him to be standing perpendicular to the ledge, run towards him to bait him to dash back, then dash around his right side. This makes him turn towards you as he squats down, so when he jumps, his back is now to the ledge, and he falls and dies.
"Have you used those weapons?" Yeah and honestly sometimes they're alot of fun to use. I think my first boss weapon was probably iron Golems axe, though it could have been Quelags first. Iron golem because I wanted an axe only run at the time, and Quelag....honestly it was because I got a curved sword and saw her weapon needed a curved weapon, no idea if I actually liked using it or not
DS1 Deprived only challenge run, exactly as it sounds. Start as deprived and only use what you get as starting items, good early game damage but the drop off is intense. Plus the "shield" isn't useful for long
I have an idea for a challenge run, you star with your end game build, stats and equipment, but with each boss you beat, you lose levels, so in the asylum you lose 1, then against the tauros demos you lose 2 and so forth, similar to what happened to Win
I actually greatly enjoy using Quelaag's Furysword. Probably my favorite curved sword in any Souls game. Excellent range for curved sword standards, cool fire animations, as a nerd who loves flashy weapons there's a ton of appeal for me.
could we get a ds1 run of infernoplus's remastus? something like "can you beat dark souls 1 with only guns?" it wont be much of a challenge but id love to see you play that cursed mod and just have fun with it
I imagine all the bosses panic as soon as they see you -- knowing full well that you'll keep on coming back -- and just try their best to make you give up because that's the only chance they have. You are their final boss. I pity them.
the fact that lemon is so good at dark souls but still kinda struggles with mid rolling is funny to me because I have literally never speed rolled since the undead asylum and I can barely even use the other rolls except the mid roll
I have seen you suffer through so many challanges by now, so i want to propose a new challenge for you. Would you make a Dark Souls run with the Challenge to make the most unique build you can think of. Whatever you want. You can take and use anything, but it has to be a build that you normally never see.
The Moonlight Butterfly shield is such an underated weapon. It's rather fragile, but that laser hits pretty hard for how early in the game you can get it.
I hope you do this for the other dark souls. It's way more diverse. Ds3 is a particularly fun run with figuring out how to do it without using many respeccs
Should have taken Gwyn's sword into NG+ and killed the Asylum Demon with it. Just to demonstrate how the cycle would play out. OR, you know... kill it with Sunlight Spear.
Using seethe's boss soul to kill Gwynn feels...right just feels right. like the reason gwynn is capable of defeating the dragons is due to his deseethe( i will not apologize ) so for seethe to be the end of Gwynn is poetic.
As a muslim I don’t listen to music because its haram, and I know that not putting loud music doesn’t make a difference to anyone but it does to me, Thanks lemon
Ngl, was sad to see the Gargoyle Tail Axe instead of the Halberd, since the Gargoyle's Halberd is hands down my favorite weapon in DS1. But the Tail Axe deserves some time in the limelight. Feel like it just gets overlooked and forgotten too much.
"Have you actually used those Boss Weapons before?" *Me who did a glass canon build with Artorias Greatsword for a run and also a pyromancer dex build with Quilags Fury Sword* Some Lemon... Some. Mainly the ones I personally found cool
One suicide run I do when I want a head start on my character levels is thru the catacombs and tomb of the giants, you get a load of consumable souls and a covetous ring. The only issue is idk if you can kill pinwheel with just firebombs
The demon catalyst is actually the best fire weapon, especially with 40 intelligence, like 350 fire damage. The scaling makes it do double damage because it‘s like S rank
You know this makes me think of another amusing run type. Speed run through every boss but any time you get a new weapon you have to swap to it till next weapon drop. That includes looted from corpses or dropped by mobs. Point of speed run bit is to not try farming for a weapon off of mobs.
You could honestly have done sens skip & used the iron golem launch to get into Anor Londo to make the run feel more legit, but honestly just knowing its possible is fair enough in my opinion.
I am so happy lemon loved the spell tools only run enough to plug it. It is by far my favorite run he's done and one I do myself regularly after watching that video

Here we go some classic Backlogs creativity for a challenge run Hey man what if you do a "Using weapons wrong" run where you tumblebuff bad movesets onto other weapons?
Great video, but I feel like you should've had the Abyss Greatsword for Manus, since that's the weapon that Artorias's soul gives you. The Cursed Greatsword of Artorias also comes from Sif. Canonically, they are the same sword, but still.
I know you're probably doing dark hand, but I hope we can see a ds1 playthrough with only weapons you don't have the stat requirement for. For example, Zweihander one handed so you don't have the strength to properly weild it. A spear with not enough dexterity. Etc.
This video is teaching me just how much I've been missing out by not bothering with these things. The moonlight butterfly Hornspear, and Quelagg's weapon sound like they'd fit perfectly into my main build.
Hey Lemon, big fan! Would you do a DS1 run using only the gravelord sword? It has low scaling but high damage output potential along with the ability to toxic. Probably won’t be the hardest run ever but it feels niche enough to be right up your alley. 0:22 I finished my first playthrough with Quelaag’s fury sword, I am expecting a public apology video to be released within three to five working days
Really cool concept for a run, and a great watch
moonlight great sword has been featured in many fromsoft games, not counting the fact that it started in a not-souls-borne game but you could argue that that series is just the predecessor to souls-borne so those game are still within genre, even then the moonlight has been in games even outside of souls-borne genre games made by fromsoft
im so happy your channel is getting the recognition it deserves and you're climbing in subs so much! you put it tons of work and it shows
The technical marvel this game was when it came out on top of legendary gameplay, and impeccable game design, and then having awsome dlc, this studio is seriously dedicated to the way their games feel to play in all aspects
The biggest sin that every dark souls game commits is making halberds just slower spears
🤓
@@sirkelendor5429 Everyone knows that you spin to win, my guy. Never press R1
I used most of the boss weapons with Smough's hammer being what I used for NG+1-NG+9
What I really like about your videos and channel in general is that nothing you do seems forced. Like you make these videos out of fun and because you genuinely want to. Thank you for that, and thank you for being you.
I like how he mentions most of these weapons are upgraded via demon titanite... on a weapon that is specificly a normal titanite upgrade...
Iron golem because I wanted an axe only run at the time, and Quelag....honestly it was because I got a curved sword and saw her weapon needed a curved weapon, no idea if I actually liked using it or not
27:03 my inner Dune fanatic just screamed. 😊
DS1 Deprived only challenge run, exactly as it sounds. Start as deprived and only use what you get as starting items, good early game damage but the drop off is intense. Plus the "shield" isn't useful for long
Legitimately my favorite RUclipsr. Great job man, love the content.
I have an idea for a challenge run, you star with your end game build, stats and equipment, but with each boss you beat, you lose levels, so in the asylum you lose 1, then against the tauros demos you lose 2 and so forth, similar to what happened to Win
Whenever you see a thumbnail for the video titled "Can you beat Dark Souls (put in some extra condition)" then the answer is almost certainly yes.
I had no idea the charred ring gave you hot kicks. That's pretty neat.
Always such a joy to see another souls game run
Wtf??
@@ZxFncsgoofy ahh emojis💀💀💀
From Seathless' tail you can get the Moonlight Great sword.
Until my daughter was about 6 we referred to Dark souls as "guy with sword game"
Lol
Greatsword of Artorias was what I completed my first ever run of DS1 with, that, Havel’s Set, and the Dragon Crest Shield
2nd actually, forgot I got a BKS drop from the knight in the Parish in my first game and stuck with that for the rest of the game. :P
I actually greatly enjoy using Quelaag's Furysword. Probably my favorite curved sword in any Souls game. Excellent range for curved sword standards, cool fire animations, as a nerd who loves flashy weapons there's a ton of appeal for me.
Agreed, I had a build around it
could we get a ds1 run of infernoplus's remastus? something like "can you beat dark souls 1 with only guns?" it wont be much of a challenge but id love to see you play that cursed mod and just have fun with it
I imagine all the bosses panic as soon as they see you -- knowing full well that you'll keep on coming back -- and just try their best to make you give up because that's the only chance they have.
You are their final boss. I pity them.
That makes way too much sense.
the fact that lemon is so good at dark souls but still kinda struggles with mid rolling is funny to me because I have literally never speed rolled since the undead asylum and I can barely even use the other rolls except the mid roll
Dark Souls + Lemon is always a winning combo!
It's rather fragile, but that laser hits pretty hard for how early in the game you can get it.
i max it out for gwen because laser beam hurt
Here is something in the atmosphere of ds that is so good i dont know how to explain it
I hope you do this for the other dark souls. It's way more diverse. Ds3 is a particularly fun run with figuring out how to do it without using many respeccs
Qualogs sword was a godsend in helping me with the midgame. Until I was able to get +15 for my falchion it was so helpful.

Soulslike with gungame rules could be interesting, where your weapon would morph to similar weapon your last enemy used.
Backlogs knows dune 😮
Should have taken Gwyn's sword into NG+ and killed the Asylum Demon with it. Just to demonstrate how the cycle would play out. OR, you know... kill it with Sunlight Spear.
Its arms race in csgo
Using seethe's boss soul to kill Gwynn feels...right just feels right. like the reason gwynn is capable of defeating the dragons is due to his deseethe( i will not apologize ) so for seethe to be the end of Gwynn is poetic.
As a muslim I don’t listen to music because its haram, and I know that not putting loud music doesn’t make a difference to anyone but it does to me, Thanks lemon
There is no way this is real boi
@@spencerbonneville1087jesus is gay
Ngl, was sad to see the Gargoyle Tail Axe instead of the Halberd, since the Gargoyle's Halberd is hands down my favorite weapon in DS1. But the Tail Axe deserves some time in the limelight. Feel like it just gets overlooked and forgotten too much.
"Have you actually used those Boss Weapons before?"
*Me who did a glass canon build with Artorias Greatsword for a run and also a pyromancer dex build with Quilags Fury Sword* Some Lemon...
Me a filthy casual that skips in video ads, but since it's you i let the ad role so the company can see I didn't click through. It looked interesting. now back to the rest of this video I have been missing more content
the perfect thing to watch for half an hour while I die from yesterday's ghost pepper. thanks lemon.
Here we go some classic Backlogs creativity for a challenge run
Hey man what if you do a "Using weapons wrong" run where you tumblebuff bad movesets onto other weapons?
22:25
fun fact, damage has absolutely no standing on poise, only weapon category, a +15dagger takes the same amount of hits than a +1
Ngl, you should have given us a bonus clip of you killing NG+ asylum demon with Gwyn's sword
Just one thing, after butterfly you get the key to havel and his ring, that would maybe helped with your mid rolling.
You could do the same in Dark souls 2. In that game all the bosses (with the exception of the Magus and congregation) drop bosses souls.
Etc.
You should try and beat Dark Souls as Trusty Patches. You must kick at least one character off a cliff. You must also use his equipment.
At first I was like,
there's no way he will go through all the upgrades after every weapon (PAIN).
I see what you did here.
I appriciate the detail of changing to Gwynn's greatsword even if it was only for the end cutscene
Tried this in Dark Souls 3 for awhile; Dancer was kicking my can.
I’ll try another run attempt soon.
(Fun fact it’s one of only 3 curved greatswords in the game and the only one that has thrust attacks as it’s power attacks)
Nice video as always and cool concept. Cheers from Germany
Don't know if you're into VR but glrimlord VR is absolutely fantastic.
This man deserves a medal and 2 in the hardest, most ridiculous, funny, and the no one thought of that challenges awards i don't care if i sound stupid or if it sounds crazy he deserves it because he is a king at this
I had an odd idea for a run, and it probably will be a trial for our resident patience elemental: Can you beat Dark Souls as Wolverine? Can only use the claws weapon and passively regenerate health (no estus). Probably be a horrible experience, but my brain created the idea not me
