Going from the bottom of the catacombs to the top without warping is definitely one of the more painful experiences of dark souls. Particularly if you use either shortcut and dont rotate all the bridges. I had to figure out how to do it again recently on a broken sword run
Well, "lore" is a bit of a strong word here, but it's a reasonable inference given that its bonfire is kindled at base, which is a property shared (aside from this one) only and by all firekeeper bonfires, meaning that if the fire being strong around that fire breathing creature has nothing to do with its draconic nature, then it's plausible that it's a firekeeper, and therefore female. it seems like an interesting mechanic to have a handful of weapons that lose durability quick, so you have to switch between them in combat. it could encourage trying different play styles with different weapons. reminds of of breath of the wild
Oh man I remember watching the start of this live! So funny when Taurus jumped off the edge because earlier on the stream you said something like "I never accidentally cheese bosses."
In regards to this run in future. For DS2 I HIGHLY reccomend doing "Can you beat DS2 with only powerstanced weapons" it's such a cool mechanic and nobody ever uses it. So i feel it'd be cool to get some exposure to Best Souls 2
Did a play through once with the Dragon Greatsword. Feels great to have the initial swing break the shield guard of an enemy, only for the force of the weapon art to kill it and you get to watch it carry and crumple it's corpse. Even more fun to watch all of that happen on just the weapon art alone.
So we've got dragon weapons, grant, ornsteins spear, crystal shield, golem aze and i thinks thats all ds2 has way more options for this challenge if anyone want to do it
Six dragon weapons, grant, ornstein's spear, golem axe, crystal shield, and if I recall dragon bone fists, and perhaps stone greataxe, not counting weapons and shields that have special effects like havel's shield. I'd agree that DS2 has more but let's not act as if DS1 has only a few. Plus unlike DS2 in DS1 you don't need to beat several bosses in order to get one as far as I know. At least I can't recall a DS2 weapon with a durability consuming attack that isn't either late game or obtained by getting a boss soul.
Hey Lemon, leaving a comment for the algorithm crud, and I just want to say, your videos have basically become comfort food for me. I just keep watching them, especially when my broken brain won't really allow anything, I still am usually able to watch and enjoy your vids. I honestly think the work you've done has made my life even a little better, and I just want to say thank you.
I must say, I just found your channel last week being stuck at home sick with COVID and it has really helped :) I've been sleeping and relaxing it almost every day and night. Your content is amazing! Keep up the great work! I'm all caught up after a few binge sessions on the couch with the kids. haha!
I know this is a bit of an old video, and great work on the run!! I just wanted to say that it's so refreshing to hear somebody actually treat Gwyndolin with respect instead of with bigotry and transphobia. They're such a cool character, and it's so nice to hear them regarded with the basic human decency everyone deserves. So thank you for that!!
I know this run is old But I was inspired to mess around with some weapon arts in elden ring I'm pretty sure the weapon art on the blasphemer sword alone can get you through most of the game Very good damage, range, and life steal? I gave it to my mimic and we kind of bullied melenia with just that
The first convicted like I ever gave for a dark souls challenge channel. A man who don't act like a newbie cheesing ceaseless discharge deserve recognition, even if is 1 time out of 30.
I have an idea for a challenge that might not be very difficult, but certainly interesting. "Can you beat Dark Souls by over-preparing as much as possible?" What I mean by that is that you have to defeat every enemy with the best / most effective damage type, basically trying to counter every enemy in the game. The actual damage output isn't important, so you can't just use the same overpowered weapon for everything - it's more about the damage being efficient. Skeletons have to be defeated with a blunt divine weapon. Demons have to be killed with a Black Knight Weapon and so on. It won't be very difficult, but I think it would be interesting to watch you plan ahead and get the items you need to be prepared for every encounter.
In case this hasn't been said already: Would love to see this run done in Ds2, as well! Some pretty fun and varied options in that game in regards to weapon art-esque attacks (dual bone fists have the coolest one though and no one can change my mind)
It's very much worth getting the Cage key in Sen's Fortress because it makes the runback from Anor Londo to Undead Parish / Firelink a minor nuisance as you can skip entire Sen's basically with the cage lift.
It's one of my favorite mechanics in the game. People who are afraid to use rare items that can usually only be acquired once a run don't even need to worry either, since you can duplicate the ones you like. Finding cool combos leads to unique runs every time.
I've said before but, while the skill is incredibly impressive, what I love more is the knowledge, knowing the scaling, knowing what works with what, is amazing.
I've been binging videos like this, dark souls challenge runs. Its only just now hitting me just how EASY you all make it seem. Watching your videos makes me feel like I could do this too. Keep it up. PRIME content.
For anyone who wants to get Kahlameet's tail solo: Equip a good shield and block his flying charge attack. You will land behind him and he will do his tail slam attack. After the last slam, you can get 1 or 2 hits in. It's a very consistend way and also works on low levels or with low damage output.

Years later, Elden Ring DLC out. I can say yes, Weapon Arts definitely have peaked in Elden Ring.
One of the coolest ideas for a run I’ve seen and just, as usual, I love it
I will absolutely be copping that pin
I personally enjoy the live audio being added to the videos. Your reaction really shows your personality and it makes me smile. :)
it seems like an interesting mechanic to have a handful of weapons that lose durability quick, so you have to switch between them in combat. it could encourage trying different play styles with different weapons. reminds of of breath of the wild
That's what dark souls 2 does and it's awful
that's what dark souls 2 does and it actually gives weapon durability a reason to exist
Oh man I remember watching the start of this live! So funny when Taurus jumped off the edge because earlier on the stream you said something like "I never accidentally cheese bosses."
The Dragon King Greataxe can also be buffed, so you could have boosted the DKGA's damage further with resins or weapon buff spells.
Dang, I remember back when you were only a few hundred subs. Now you've got a whole merch line...so proud.
Yay! New Lemon video!
I liked how you put a loading bar on the sponser. It made watching it more managable.
By the way you have one of the best content and it makes me happy to watch your videos
“Hopefully leads to its magnum opus in Elden Ring” watching this a year later, it’s like he predicted the future
DS2 has even more! Drakewing GS, Smelter Sword
Darksouls 2 weapon arts?
Hey Lemon, leaving a comment for the algorithm crud, and I just want to say, your videos have basically become comfort food for me. I just keep watching them, especially when my broken brain won't really allow anything, I still am usually able to watch and enjoy your vids. I honestly think the work you've done has made my life even a little better, and I just want to say thank you.
I have never successfully cut Seaths tail. Thanks for allowing me to live vicariously through you lol
I like how he used the pronoun “their” when referring to gwyndolin
It's a he
He's male, just kinda feminine because of the whole moon magic thing
Dude you scared the hell outta me when you said raid shadow legends. God bless you for not taking up a raid sponsorship. Great vid!
Promotion Skip Button: 1:57
Respect for not resetting after the Leroy mishap. There's no way I would claw my way out of there haha.
I know this run is old
But I was inspired to mess around with some weapon arts in elden ring
I'm pretty sure the weapon art on the blasphemer sword alone can get you through most of the game
Very good damage, range, and life steal? I gave it to my mimic and we kind of bullied melenia with just that
The first convicted like I ever gave for a dark souls challenge channel. A man who don't act like a newbie cheesing ceaseless discharge deserve recognition, even if is 1 time out of 30.
If you were going to try this for Ds2, Ray Dhimitri has a video showing every weapon with a special attack. Might help you out some.
Congrats on 100k man. You’ve grown so fast it seemed like you were only at 30k last week
I was running low on human suffering, so thank you for uploading this when you did
god am i so fucking ready to see this guy post these kind of videos for elden ring
I've never thought of doing this, great idea, I realize with repair powder, you can be amazing early with weapon arts.
I have an idea for a challenge that might not be very difficult, but certainly interesting.
"Can you beat Dark Souls by over-preparing as much as possible?"
What I mean by that is that you have to defeat every enemy with the best / most effective damage type, basically trying to counter every enemy in the game.
Adding a loading bar to adverts is the nicest and most backlog thing ever lol
It's really nice you always present advertisements/sponsors in a funny way
A tip for anyone attempting this: Dash slash can be used to hit certain levers through walls, allowing you to skip some portions of the game!
5:05 i remember watching it on stream way back when. so happy you kept it in! XD
When you said this, i immediately thought of the drake sword. I remember using the special attack, and it took SOOOO much durability.
It's very much worth getting the Cage key in Sen's Fortress because it makes the runback from Anor Londo to Undead Parish / Firelink a minor nuisance as you can skip entire Sen's basically with the cage lift.
That Space Channel 5 Music brings back so many memories
I feel like there should be an achievement for dying to pinwheel in this game.
I lured paladin Leroy up top so I could get Grant on my second run.
I effing love that weapon my man. Its 10/10
12:40 - weapon art scales on faith as well as a very special lightning ring~
Used it a ton myself back in the day
How right he was about elden ring being the magnum opus of weapon arts
It's one of my favorite mechanics in the game. People who are afraid to use rare items that can usually only be acquired once a run don't even need to worry either, since you can duplicate the ones you like. Finding cool combos leads to unique runs every time.
7:58 is the most Peter Griffin moment
good to watch more of your stuff, my 20 plus hours of dark souls 3 got corrupted and it threw me back at the start, was triggered
Space channel five was definitely the soundtrack to use for a video like this
I've said before but, while the skill is incredibly impressive, what I love more is the knowledge, knowing the scaling, knowing what works with what, is amazing.
beside ornsteins spear lol
I've been binging videos like this, dark souls challenge runs. Its only just now hitting me just how EASY you all make it seem. Watching your videos makes me feel like I could do this too. Keep it up. PRIME content.
For anyone who wants to get Kahlameet's tail solo:
Equip a good shield and block his flying charge attack. You will land behind him and he will do his tail slam attack. After the last slam, you can get 1 or 2 hits in.
It's a very consistend way and also works on low levels or with low damage output.
I liked your sponsor. It's natural, fun and has heart. I had the script reading sponsors. They are too americanie 😞
i like how he mentioned weapon arts in elden ring because the ashes of war mechanic is probably my favorite part
my reaction to this "this game has weapon arts?"
looking back at the timing of this video knowing how most players would play and beat Elden Ring is actually hilarious! is your build Corpse Piler, Transient Moonlight or Lions-claw?
