I feel like there should be a salvage ship in the middle. This feels kind of like the prospector, like a beginner salvaging ship (smaller ship, smaller storage), and then the next jump is the 15M Reclaimer. Now we need 1 in the middle.

My wife and kids bought me this ship for Father's day. By far my favorite ship I own. If you get creative while stacking boxes, you can get 25scu of salvage in the hold, giving you just shy of 200k

I have to admit, I only went on the RSI website and clicked on the freefly to get my hands on the vulture for a while again (Invictus was the last time). It's such a chilled experience, I just zone out and hours fly by, still making fake space money! Thanks Farrister 😁👍

Pro tip: let the first box generate, pause your scraping, then scrape until you fill the "filler" a second time. Then you can move the first box, and it will make the second box once you move the first one out of the way. That way, you only need to head to the back half as much

One of my favorite and most used ships. It is strictly a bunker runner. There’s often wreckage along the way, making hull stripping a nice side task for a little added income as well as a good way to break up the activities. Also I tend to fill it to the point where the load sells for a bit over 100k aUEC. That’s only 3 or four extra boxes.

I genuinely LOVE my Vulture, its probably my 2nd most flown ship that I have. I even liked the gameplay loop (and have enough friends) to have purchased the Reclaimer, but I quite frequently return to my Vulture (even with other players). The biggest gripes I have with this ship, were mentioned already in the video lol, that being the size of the cargo grid and the basically non-existing head lights. Also I loved the lore video behind the Vulture and I think its a suitable name, but honestly looking at it, it very much reminds me of an Argo ship, as the cab looks like a modern industrial vehicle like tractor or a bulldozer.

Another great video Farrister. I've watched a lot of reviews of the Vulture, and yours is the one that I prefer. I know what to expect when you make one. It will always be high quality and comprehensive, and the format is consistent throughout all of your video reviews of ships in Star Citizen. I'm still not able to play the game yet, but I do have a Vulture in my fleet for making money in the game. I look forward to eventually being able to use it. Thanks for your videos, my friend. Great Video and thank you your take on this hip. I bought it out right got it during the ship sale a a war bond upgraded to it with a nox that had Life time insurance and love this ship, you can fit a total of 25 to 26 scu one stays in the collector and 12 on the grid and 13 stacked in the isle all the way to the door in total you can earn 200k per run but you will have to make a trip back to the space port to un store your ship and retrieve the last scu of cargo from the collector and then run back to the trade center this is easiest to do from area 18,its a short trip back and forth, remember you don't have to do this but its 7600 credits for about 6 to 8 minute of your time or you can collect it for your next run out to salvage.I really like the red skin and I did upgrade everything on this ship. 1st engines to 2 slipstreams at Orison 18600 credits each, 2nd- 2- FR-66 shields at Orison as well 18450 credit each, Zero rush coolers 16150 each at New Babbage and a Atlas Quantum Drive from Hur l5 for 17900 credits as well as the gun to 2 yellow jackets ballistic gatling guns at Orison or Hur L5 4600 each or 2- 9 series longswords ballistic canons at Port Olisar or Hur L3 for 6250 each both will give you a lot more firepower and survivability, these are all class A upgrades and cot les than a full run of salvage o once you have done the upgrades your good to go. Size 1 upgrades are not over all expensive and a small ship needs every advantage it can get to buy more time to flee from the bad guys. Most of these components are solid upgrade for all size one ship as seen on erkul.games. Take care everyone hope to see you in the verse.

Agreed, the 175$ target is WAY too much for what this ship can possibly do, given the small cargo and the limited income it guarantees. It will be for sale in 3.20, way overstretched for a ship that made its debut in 3.17.0, more then a year ago.
I bought mine for 140$ way back in 3.11, when it was shown as a concept, but I will CCU it to something else as soon as it will be available for aUEC. I give it a run, once in 3 or 4 session, but it becomes boring after a while.

When holding an item with the tractor beam, you can hold R to rotate the object with your mouse. Super useful when moving cargo in the cramped interior. And if you have head tracking, I believe there is an option to gimble the salvage heads and direct them with head tracking

I started trying one on the free fly. I'm thinking of upgrading my cutter package to a vulture. To me they are roughly the same ship, save the salvage arms, and with the Vulture having 12 SCU of cargo. It is easier to carry vehicles in the vulture, and I actually was using it to run bunkers, as the plethora of downed and derelict ships means extra cash without having to shell out for a salvage job. I completely agree that the cargo grid should be officially expanded, and that the lights need to be made brighter. I'm not sure why Aegis ships can have such good lights and Drake ships sucks to bad. I'd also like to see a jump seat in the cargo hold for when it becomes and issue for a player not to be strapped down in flight, to accommodate the hireling moving boxes :P

    • @wertacus
      @wertacus Год назад

That's what I did, but I bought another cutter a month later as a runabout. The vulture has a bit of a target on its back in my experience but it makes a good daily if you're an opportunist like me.

I tried a vulture for a couple of evenings. While the gameplay loop was a little relaxing at first, I soon got bored both doing it solo and with a hauler friend. The poor lights make things quite difficult to be efficient when you are stripping the shadow side of the hull, too. The profits were better than most mid-sized cargo runs, though. The side door can be annoying to enter from EVA.

The power wash simulator is a nice and relaxing gameplay loop. Really enjoyable. And the bit about long claws is true, those are easy to bump into your salvage if you're not paying attention.
I'm one of those who do not consider having to get up to move boxes a fun gameplay. It fits a Drake ship design lorewise but it's still a chore and the fiddly ladder in between doesn't help.
Also, the ship is designed to not get hit. Small shields just can't tank a lot of damage and expect you to be dodging most of the shots. Considering this the sluggish Vulture needs to get out at the first sight of trouble. But the box wrangling makes you leave the pilot seat constantly, meaning you're completely vulnerable and blind a good deal of the time on the field.

For most people I'd just recommend waiting till it's available for purchase in-game, 150-175 for an entry-level ship into a gameloop is just too much, same with the prospect which you can just rent for a day and earn that money back quickly.
Better just get like an avenger or c8x pisces and do a bit of everything, can still do hand mining and hand salvaging.
In hindsight I wouldn't have bought so many ships, especially not big ships and would've limited myself to just something like the 325a (the combat 300i) and the andromeda.

I almost agree with you. I feel the ship is designed for a crew of 1.5, and i like the optionality of having a friend helping with boxes.
Maybe a tiny bit of modularity where you could give up a few SCU of cargo space for an autostacker. So you could have 18 SCU selfstacked or 14 SCU autostacked. I would enjoy that as an option.

Salvage also makes more money than mining in general. A single SCU of RMC is worth roughly the same as Tier 1 mineables like gold which are almost impossible to come by in any decent quantity. I'm a pretty good miner and still only manage about 2-4 SCU of Tier 1 mineables per run with the rest being Tier 2 or 3. You can get a lot more RMC in the Vulture in the same amount of time much, much easier, and it doesn't have the extra step of a refinery to get the max value for it.

It will be able to. But not to the same extent as the Reclaimer. The long arms the Vulture has, have tractor beams and other features that will be able to pull off limited amounts of ship pieces and store them underneath the cockpit in a small little salvage hold. If you look at the pictures off the Vulture on the pledge store you can see these features in action. That will give you an idea of how it will work.

I had a Vulture for a while (CCU chain from a C8R to a warbond Vulture) and it is a nice small ship for entry into Salvage..BUT there are/still a few bugs in Salvage that needs to be worked on and sometimes the Vulture has a Cargo grid issue so you can’t buy/sell unless you defer the cargo to another ship OR reclaim your Vulture (which does fix the cargo grid issue for a while.
For the price as a entry way to the Salvage industry play it is a tad too much $$ in my opinion.

Theres some silly issues with the vulture, but i enjoy it. Really dislike how i have to risk destroying my ship with uncargospace clamped boxes to salvage a hammerhead fully and considering how it flies, it feels like ot should have an scu or two’s length added to its rear. Being able to make a multitool is great and kept my first salvage run with it from being annoying as i had that server issue where all my armor and tool disappeared from my body after i left the station.
Im ok with the huge space needed to speed up and slow down, but just think it needs a full cargo area and a bit of a cargo extension to justify it. Speed it up or give that cargo.
I get people wanting to break up the gameplay by moving boxes, but it also disrupts the zen of powerwashing ships and just seems stupid that a technology we have now is apparently unavalilable in the far future

@@Farrister There's definitely been some improvements. The back elevator comes down now from the outside, which is great!
For me, 3.19 increased the amount of crashes I get. they are 30k codes like 30018 but I get maybe 4 per session. Also I sometimes get stuck in one of the seats. I haven't had one session in the reclaimer that has gone smoothly.
The other thing for me, is that salvage missions ideally need a cargp ship. Its dangerous to get boxes on the reclaimer elevator. Landing at GH is fine, but I wouldnt want to try and land that thing at Brio's breaker yard.
With time, im sure that the reclaimer will be useful again :)

Honestly, the Vulture is underwhelming. For its price tag, I would have thought it would offer something more .....thought of?
Like you said, the headlights are barely usable. Too often I was salvaging in the dark. The cargo capacity is dumb, even if you can make it to 23 SCU by moving the crates yourself. And having to get up every 2 crates gets annoying fast. Making it every 4 wouldve been way better but only if we could lock more than its initial 12 SCU. The fact that you can actually leave the ship through the cockpit window means someone did know we would block the cargo entrance with more crates.
    As always, nice review!

I find getting around inside a little bit annoying. This is supposed to be a single-player ship which specializes in industrial game play. Running through 2 doors, then down a ladder, then through another door to handle the salvage is a little silly. As an industrial worker, you are supposed to be able to do your job quickly and doing all that running is a waste of time. I would have put the habitation area on the lower deck and had the salvage dispenser on the top deck. When you are "working", everything work related should be near by. Running past my habitation area while I am working makes no sense.

I have ignored the salvage in game as $175 entry fee makes it $0 value for my time.
Vulture remains only available for real cash, while CIG hypes and artificially inflates ingame value by putting RMC above the selling price of even gold.
And the Reclaimer is not worth grinding up over 30 million credits to get to.
As soon as the Vulture becomes available in game expect RMC prices to plummet under iron.
