I'd like to see a ARGO salvage ship. Since the SRV and RAFT are medium sized, a salvage ship between the Vulture and Reclaimer would be well suited. I really like the style of ARGO, in and outside, and a salvage ship would be 100% buy if ever released. Plus, the lineup would be complete, with a Mining, Salvage, Cargo and Towing ship, pure industrial work certified :D
I love my SRV. My most satisfying game loop right now is towing ships off the GH landing pad, swapping to my vulture, and then stripping those illegally parked.
Argo ships are so nice, with the coziest interiors. CGI need to step up and make sure the SRV and Raft are always enjoyable to play and functional. Also we need an Argo daily!
If they removed the spacing on the Raft's cargo arms to squeeze in another row, and made the cargo load from the top of the arm DOWN, with a tractor? I'd literally never use another cargo ship. It's perfect. The interior is cozy, the layout is nice, the engineering deck will be managable when that's in, and the external airlock is an ACTUAL airlock, with two proper doors. It's a damn shame that it's hobbled by that 96SCU and the jankyness of getting it loaded to capacity.
These videos are great. Awesome to show ships, especially interior, love the upgrade part, and really appreciate the how useful is this. Keep it coming, I’ll keep watching.
Thanks for the video. Just have a couple comment… I’m a bit surprised that it wasn’t mentioned that it’s been broken since the introduction of MM, with being unable to quantum jump while towing anymore. A lot of folks may find this ship very useful if this was not the case. It was also mentioned that you can get a crime stat for doing the towing missions but that’s not the case anymore.
I loved the SRV, was so much fun helping to tow folks that got stuck. Big fan of all the Argo ship designs, SRV is cool inside. Was sad when they broke it's QT towing ability so melted it but will pick it up again someday as its a unique ship.
Before Master Modes I actually used the SRV far more often than I thought I would. I’d tow players who ran out of QT fuel or tow severely damaged ships to a station so they could repair. Also dropped off derelicts to salvagers. But with MM’s they broke QT towing. Now I just take it out to move abandoned ships off of pads at stations.
@@Farrister It was broken before MM: already in 3.23.2 the only thing I was able to do s to tow ships just outside the danger area, but not QD them to destination.
I love the industrial look of Argo ships. This particular one will probably shine a bit more when Engineering allows us to patch up dead ships ... after towing them to safety.
I still own an SRV. Unfortunately, the introduction of Master Modes essentially broke the SRV's ability to tow in quantum. I'm sure they'll fix it eventually. In the meantime, while it's not the most useful or used ship in my fleet, I keep it for those rare situations when the SRV is the right--or only--tool for the job. I occasionally use it for small, routine tasks, like delivering boxes, hauling small amounts of cargo, or rescue jobs.
6:46 I definitely travel far distances across the verse with the SRV. I use it for rescue missions. Before, I would fly the Cutlass Red, but I love this one for reviving and picking up players and their broken ships.
This ship will absolutely shine in 4.0. The sheer number of people messing up their jump point run and needing to be towed from the ass middle of nowhere will go up substantially. That being said, the SRV needs to make sure to actually have the quantum fuel for those vast distances.
Argo ship float my boat. Gorgeous style, the design aesthetic is my favourite in the game. Can’t believe a company with their focus would let MISC and Drake corner the solo mining and salvage markets. So disheartening. I NEED more Argo in my life!
As much as I’m always bemoaning the lack of functional Tumbril Ranger, an Argo off-road courier bike with fat panniers would be an instant-pledge from me!!
I want it, I want it now!!! That thing is going to be a cash cow when physicalised damage comes in for ship components and people want to tow their ship back to a station so they don't lose all their cargo. Sadly it doesn't appear to be available to buy for cash right now, but that ship will be a permanent member of my fleet in the future.
I wonder if the "Combat Performance" section could be replaced with a "Specialism Performance" section when the ship is more industrial/specialised and non-combat in general? Great review as always, saving for an SRV at the moment!
I love the pun names and orange color schemes and the insides of the SRV are about the most homely insides of any ship in the 'verse. Too bad there aren't any decent missions for it. And the lack of purpose. I know how some people love the Terrapin, for me it's the SRV.
The SRV is also broken since the patch after its release.I it can't QD any more while towing a ship, which is a bummer because it is impossible to take those juicy Hammerheads around Yela away to where they can be peacefully stripped down. All you can do is to tow ships away until the contract is completed.
It would be nice if the SRV could drag big rocks out of the ground and collect them for the mining ships. Placing quantum-stabilisation transport consumables on the rock for transport, with limited time say 4 min.
I had no idea that it had a cargo grid 😮 that's unfortunate how little I've been playing attention to it. I've tried it out on one of the expos but that is about it. I absolutely love the raft and wanted to find some excuse to use the Srv. I simply just don't have anything to use for it for. And that is a shame
It is a cool ship. I wish it would be a bit more powerful, both with engines and tractor beam. It feels like it was meant to do more than it does with the one thing it can do.
I can't get over how the front pair of thrusters exhaust directly into the rear hull, kills the ship for me unfortunately. Come on CIG, make them VTOL only or something!
I do love the ARGO look, but never felt the SRV was good. It's also useful now in piracy, now that Master Modes forces players to drop their shields to have any chance of running away. And, of course, there's the use I saw Space Tomato give it: high speed bombardments with towed ships. However, that's about to go away along with soft death and pad ramming...
@@Farrister Yes! I listen to videos without watching them, as I'm always working and frequently driving when I listen. Initially he was towing I think a Scorpius, he was braking and accidentally left-clicked so it drove up the rear of his SRV and blew up instantly. It was a livestream, so I'm sure chat put him up to it, but then he tested if he could take a ship to a station and get it to blow up on it, and test what would happen. IIRC it was to see if he'd possibly get a CS, I think? It was for science. The things we do for science. Last org event I jumped an ATLS out of my C1 into a lava pit that kills people, to see if its invulnerability would keep me alive. Spoiler: it did not.
I guess its for towing a prized cargo out of a hot zone and not to be operated by a single player. I have to admit, this is a very nice addition to a group's outfit.
Please tell me where you go to show ship handling and visibility. I really want to see it in person and test fly my ships there. Just because of this review I want to buy this ship now. I love Argo. Especially my Argo Raft. Its just so homey, comfortable, and a joy to have. I'm telling myself no but I might just have to get this and not for the gameplay. I don't even know anything about that type of gameplay.
Daymar. If it's light at SCD-1 that's usually a good place for canyons. Otherwise I have a few other spots I use but I don't know the canyons quite so well
With engineering and the end of ships exploding, and once insurance claims are tuned down, the SRV will be the final rescue to bring stranded ships to port.
plus the fact that tractoring in qt is broken, so you cant even help a broken ship get home with their cargo, which has been relevant for me, at least 5 or 6 times in this cargo empire patch....
My biggest issue with it is that for having such a massive tractor beam, it actually sucks at moving even small ships in atmosphere. I was shocked to discover that it won't even lift a Spartan... and I'm sure this is because people were using them in combat to flip them or some other such nonsense and CIG just said "no". Not because it shouldn't be able to do this... but because... "Reasons". So I think It's important that CIG actually do a better job at unlocking logical possibilities in what is more of a sandbox game than I think CIG was prepared for.

You are amazing. Even knowing the ship, it's comfortable to watch the full video. Congrats.
I love mine, I use it to clean landing pads off when I feel like being helpful to others and don't really want to do anything in game.
Saved a Taurus with a full cargo hold using the SRV last night. Pilot died to a glitch, and we couldn't res him until he was out of the armacist zone.
