@@Thelucassiwy Oh it is, Frostbite is one of the worst engines I've ever seen (Frostbite 1 and 2 were decent, but 3 was appalling). The reason why this happened was because EA forced Bioware(and a few other companies) to work on Frostbite in order to compete with the UE4 engine. I'm glad most EA developers like Bioware have gone back to UE5 after the failure of BF2042. but yes, development time should be a lot quicker, especially if they are going back to the squad team cover-based shooting, in keeping with the espionage theme of the sequel
So is a lot of TV CGI, The Mandalorian uses Unreal Engine for example.

@@ReachTea UE5 is also one of the easiest engines to learn to work on, and if mastered by veteran developers should be a speedy development time. But that honestly means nothing until Dreadwolf gets out of its development hell
From a cinematic standpoint, drawing a gun is an indicator for the audience that something is about to go down, which throws me off because the figure is walking out of a building and not into it. Typically, that's an indicator that they did something like robbed a bank and are expecting to be met with resistance. They are walking away from rather than towards the camera which gives the feeling of decention which gives you the impression of a villain or a good guy gone rogue in something like the Fugitive where the good guy was actually the antagonist rather than the protagonist. Symbolically, they are walking out of the darkness and into the light, which Renegade is a great way to describe it.
One of the first ME1 trailers showed Shepard walking away to a distress call from Noveria. With that as well as the crescendo of the music giving off a more triumphant hopeful gesture, I'm leaning on this character being our main but we'll likely be the antagonist which narratively would be a very different experience than we've gotten before.
I don't think it's necessarily villainous or antagonistic, but the more spy-like design coupled with the actions of the character does give off more of a cold and calculated feeling.
@dragonbornexpress5650 We'll likely not know who to trust throughout the story. Which is why we love spy movies. Unless they are James Bond movies, the bad guys don't stand out so easily with gravelly voices and disfigured faces.
@@gibster9624 I'm not sure if it'll go to THAT degree, and I think it's too early to tell what the actual story will be as of right now. What we can say without a doubt, though, is that this trailer gave off spy movie vibes, which is almost certainly deliberate by the developers.
@@dragonbornexpress5650 That's pretty much the level of assumption I'm using here too. Like I said, I'm only leaning to these directions not full on speculating That's what they'll be.
You should note that the shot of the N7 pulling out their weapon looks like a shot from one of the Andromeda trailers.

Between the seated Krogan, Aralakh theme and weather it reinforces my idea that it's a rebuilt Tuchanka. Was already leaning that way before someone pointed out the music.

The person on the right in the Geth poster I think is a Salarian, which would tie into the intial Liara teaser where there's a Krogan and Salarian in the background.

I've just caught up with your latest videos (from your Complete Timeline to this one) and boy there was a lot to take in and unpack. Your breakdown, analysis and editing was fantastic. I missed the first 15-20 minutes of your livestream, so I've just got that to catch up with and will probably watch the whole thing again.
I've a million things to add to all this...but I'm happy just sitting back and watching your videos. Besides I don't like typing out paragraphs and paragraphs of this, that and everything about Mass Effect 5 and the franchise as a whole.

i still think Cerberus is bigger than just the Elusive Man. I think this Benefactor from Andromeda is also part of Cerberus, or it could also fund Cerberus as well. i say that because the human A.I. is, or at least seems, more advanced than the others, and Cerberus was already mixing tech with human anatomy. Look at the Elusive Man, he already had those blue robot looking eyes before the reaper tech. i could be way off but it is something to think on.
The black visor strip and the round bits at the side are very like EDIs I think. Although her "hair" wouldn't fit in the helmet and she is more proportioned in the chest area!
Would love to have EDI back, she is brilliant.
All I know is that when I first saw the poster/video, I immediately was willing to do whatever it takes to get my hands on that AMAZING trenchcoat. When Bioware mentioned they were "selling" it, I got really excited for a couple of seconds, thinking they might actually be selling the coat & not just the picture. :(

I am a mass effect fan day one back then on my xbox 360 and still this franchise is probably my favorite of all time.

I get the vibe this will have a more espionage approach I’d love to see that it would be a nice switch up from the full on guns blazing type of character we’re used to
How is nobody pointing out she looks like she fits in with those N7 classes from the ME3 multiplayer mode.
Someone already did compare those armors to this and while they were somewhat similar the designs were still very different

Great breakdown as always! Kinda thinking that the earlier posters might have been more thematic in nature than direct, especially with the Geth. Also possibly really cool that they might are going with the female playable character for marketing materials.

Very nice breakdown. I'm getting renegade/BBEG from the N7 as well. Cool thought I had what if there are a choice of main protagonist. One Renegade option one Paragon.
That would be cool but also jesus christ imagine the development for that, Andromeda had two protags but theyre basically carbon copies of eachother.

Anyway reviewing the first trailer and the second one, the emotions change dramatically.
The first one makes me feel hope, melancholy and peace.
The second one makes me feel disquiet and fear.
I think Liara and this new character will be connected but parallel, I don't think they will work together.
However I still can't understand how they will connect Andromeda to the trilogy, I get headache when I think about it 😆

With the cutouts on the sides, this N7 helmet reminds me of the Angara helmets from Andromeda...
I don’t know if anyone else in the comments has caught this too, but in the beginning of the clip with the individual in N7 armor, you can notice their left foot (one closes to the wall) seems to almost have a limp. It doesn’t raise up off the ground as much as the right one before each step.
You know I've seen people say this, several people. I don't see it though 😕 do you have a specific time stamp ?
Exactly, I spot it too. Reminds me of Shepard walking towards "the choice" in the end of ME3...
@@kalaelizabeth Sure! Try looking at time stamp 0:16 on your video as it might be easier to spot since the clip is slowed down. It’s only really noticeable if you look at the front of the foot. The one on the right lifts up and forward off the ground with each step, while the one on the left has more of a flat step. Hope that helps!

Technically the Tempest was built in the Milky way then sent to Andromeda with the Nexus so the design Aesthetic for the tempest and the New N7 armor can match.
Nice analysis of what's going on in the background and the music.
Concerning the stealth / sneaky aspect: If you want not to be seen and blend with the shadows, you do not wear red and white stripes and a light show on your back. You dress up in all black or if you have to operate in daytime in one specific environment in a color scheme especially tuned to match that environment. Light still works the same in 2819 so that's something that's not changing. Highly likely the player character, of course again an N7, of course not showing a face because of looking whatever the player wants them to look.
i think there is also more to discover about the teaser / trailer from 2021 would be nice to get theses if u can unpack ^^
About the soundtrack from your vid, for sure a mix between 1 and 3 but what does it mean ?
About the caracter there are 2 ways to see it:
-they want ppl to be hyped and make them think of shepard just like Ryder (classic)
- they dont know yet where to go with this caracter and kept the helmet on just in case of change of plans
Oh and about the mud skipper (sorry if its not the right spelling) we see a turret on the top may be its retractable and can change the vehicule into smth flater
I may have been dreaming that but I thought I had seen the rock formation featured on the "Geth" poster in game in one of the DLCs, either Overlord or Firewalker. I was looking for it again but could not reproduce my impression, maybe I was hallucinating of looking in the wrong game.
Interesting comparison between the Tempest and the new helmet. EDI was originally designed to resemble the shape of the Normandy SR2, as shown in BW 25th book. Since Gamble mentioned that book, perhaps there is more being taken from there. And who said the Tempest was a unique ship build?
I didn't play Andromeda and the unknown part of music is very familiar to me, I guess I heard in the trilogy, maybe Omega DLC. And as you mentioned in images of last year we got some foggy cities, even people that wear masks, so I think it's some kind of special fog out there not dust.
I completely agree with you regarding the theory that this teaser could be a part of a longer video…I’m still betting that they might show the full version on the Game Awards this year 🤔
I think it seems very likely a newly built mass relay was sent to andromeda only shortly after the reaper war and would have arrived only a bit after andromeda’s ending. Linking the galaxies, and making the game set after andromeda.
The gun looks like it has a suppressor of some sort. If that's accurate, we may be seeing more stealth oriented mechanics.
Hopefully it's the agent sent, in the joint operation by N7 and bioware, to deliver that galaxy sized bomb they had prepared for when that relay to Andromeda was finally completed.
Character in trailer reminds me of N7 Shadow Infiltrator or N7 Slayer Vanguard from ME3 Multiplayer. Design is (in my opinion) similar. Thoughts?
It doesn't mean its Sheppard, it just means its most likely human and N7, it is possible that its on the mission of some sort? (Kind of like in ME2, where in a trailer it shows you what have happened in between ME3/Andromeda and ME4/5)

Im hoping we get DA:D news in December, but with BG3 being announced to be releasing on xbox during the game awards and the date that it should release, I’m hoping they aren’t scared away. Here’s to wishing both ME and DA do good for Bioware and they can find their spark again.

I say two things about the tease.
One likely, we are being geared towards playing a renegade style of character over Paragon. AKA the red Paragon symbol
Two, this is a cutscene with the audio cut out and replaced, and likely not the entire cutscene. maybe even the intro to our character creator screen or just after.
Overall, I am looking forward to more details about the game.
Another location possibility, depending on the timeline, would be Feros in the future.,
What if the location of the teaser is the planet from the 2022 teaser with the relay?

Remember in Andromeda, the Benefactor is super Rich
Eden Prime, a swarm of history and future. Where it began it will end, depending on your ME3 final scenes of course.... Or perhaps another sleeper ship, like the "failsafe" aka Andromeda. Or maybe these are the ones to be the antagonists of the next part of the story. Let me elaborate one that for a second, Mass Effect was always a self insert (as in you are Shepherd, and Shepherd is you) so going with that story building ways, why would they define who you are before you have done so? Wouldn't it be better to show you what you are up against first with a bunch of little hints to make you feel better about figuring it out? That's hype for you peeps...

I never though about the Korlus comparison. The outside of the ship does look like that. What if it was a ship graveyard from the reaper war or some other kind of war.

The planet is very similar to Bekenstein. Yes the Reapers bombed it from orbit as disclosed by Aller's but was a major commercial and supply hub for the Citadel so if that's put back in its original spot its safe to assume this planet would get back to being a major trading hub. The atmospheric damage could be from the bombardment hence the breathers. Now this is one of the few places in the trilogy where you had round doors. Donovan Hawks Liar is very similar in design to this, design in the trailer go and replay Mass Effect 2: Kasumi - Stolen Memory both in the original version before it was glossed up with new changed textures and in LE and you will see what I'm on about.

I'm not sure if this is the hero but i can see two teams looking for someone or something, the rogue with her Krogan and liara with her team... Maybe she triggered the alarm luring the Milkyway team to wherever they are.

I kinda wonder how this scene will end up looking in the final game if it'll be included at all cuz back in the day when some gameplay of Andromeda got released on April Fools it turned out to have a more appealing aesthetic compared to the final version where the armor felt mismatched
Chances are this teaser was made purely for demonstration purposes as it's clearly not gameplay or in-engine.

I think the character in the latest teaser isn't the PC but a squadmate.
I do think it is worth mentioning that the jackets cushions look similar to the pathfinder armour cushions.

in engine rendering though( like you suggested) the 'artists ' have been kept in the dark on this one? Heck, maybe (and I hope not) EA type big wigs have just said 'release something in the vein of Mass Effect ' to keep us excited? I'd hope not though cos I'm already thinking about what the console would be😅😅
Possibly. Even in-engine trailers are often put out years ahead of a game's release, and are mainly about showing what the developers hope to do rather than any solid gameplay or extensive visuals.
@@dragonbornexpress5650 Indeed. I'm *mildly* reminded of the potentials of Andromeda ... Great idea, graphics, but for me, maybe the lack of OR blending of the 'artists /writers ' experiences/maturity /lore love wasn't in the the final game as much as the excitement based upon the trailer(s) for it.
Again, I hope to be wrong on that front though. As said, maybe this is concept and subject to change.. Maybe they've clearly explained agenda/goals written out but they've gotta keep the details quiet to no leaks get out ~ eg, nobody knows exactly what specified others are doing
Group A ~ design some sleek costumes
Group B ~ use these colours for the costume
Group C ~ design some backgrounds
Groups U through Y puts it together in accordance with what Group X wants
I know you get push back on these sometimes and we have differing views of what I want to see in ME5 but that doesn't detract from the obvious work and effort you put in or the excitement you help me maintain for my favourite franchise

I think I touched on it in my last video. Or maybe it was after. I do think it could be 🤔 but I'm surprised they look so similar to a turian tbh. Not what I was expecting if it is them
@@kalaelizabeth It does look similar but if you really zoom in the beak is obvious and the spikes on the back of the head are way too thick to be a Turian. It also actually does make sense that they look similar because both evolved from bird species.

@@kalaelizabethOh and also, Epsilon, Oculon, and Nebula are not previous title teases... They are previous names for the citadel. Not sure what that could mean.
What if the new relay is being built in Andromeda, and humanity is going to link the citadel with it? Maybe a stretch.
I think there is definitely the possibility that this is Aria T'Loak. The big collar, the walk, the feminine figure, the shoes, even the fact that she is holding a gun.
There is a moral ambiguity about this character.
Agreed, and she was probably injured in the explosion so has a limp now. She is the best character who wasn't a companion so really would be great to see her back. Second best was Eve, I hope she's in the next game, my favourite Krogan.
Okay, so I have this wild theory. This game is about the benefactor. The security footage is either from when this mysterious benefactor killed Jien Garson, or their new motive within the Andromeda galaxy (possibly former cerberus sent to make 2.0? Her VI subtly hinted that possibility when it said "she regrets association with this benefactor, as she questioned their motives in supporting the Initiative.") This game is going to take place in both galaxies as the security footage is more than likely footage the shadow broker is viewing from her (Liara) headquarter. Liara is important here because the only two people who knew the benefactor was Jien Garson and Alec Ryder (whom was in contact with Liara). My guess is the milky way squad will be the ones to hunt the benefactor in the Andromeda galaxy as Liara may be the only hope we have at solving their identity because of her ties with Alec.
Definitely a possibility. I do feel like the benefactor will be address at the very least in the next game.

I do think dark energy/scourge will play part (I can't piece that together yet lol) but also -- how cool would it be if Bioware wrote 2 paths for this game that would give Shepard-mains their closure, or the option to use Ryder and craft their legend? Do you think that is something we could see?

I think you are right about the unknown track, it sounds like Andromeda more. The order of the songs may mean something? Milky Way start off then Andromeda jump then back to Milky Way?
This is my opinion, but I feel like that nod towards the end is directed towards the player, rather than any background characters. It's almost like an "I'm back" kind of nod. If it was directed towards the background character, then this protagonist must have a bond with that character, that no new protagonist would have, especially if that background character is a krogan - we all know how krogan are when meeting new people.
Perhaps, but the nod itself seems to fit the design of the character: Cold, calculating, and straight to business.
BTW I just finished another play-through of ME3 and at the end with Synthesis EDI mentioned that humanity might conquered their mortality which would put full into the fire of 'could Shepard be still alive'.
The top of the jacket is very reminiscent of the pathfinder armor from Andromeda

One thing is hard for me to think as a possibility and that's the character in the teaser as a woman, it can't be a woman unless i am right and after the ending of ME3 all females lost there BOOBA 🤣 and i don't think bioware will make a flat woman character.
Now jokes aside awesme job and i think overall this is as much as we can get, speculations can be endless but with no confirmation for anything bioware might want to test our hearts how many teasers like this can we survive until they come out and confirm something😅
I actually think the character is more intended to be ambiguous body wise so people can role play and project easier onto them. But I do think they lean more into a feminine body than a masculine one. Who knows though!

Reminds me of the 2015 E3 teaser for Andromeda, featuring another N7 who draws a pistol. Which turned out to be a bait and switch.
Yeah I've brought up the issues with Andromeda's marketing quite a bit and I sincerely hope the team learned from those mistakes and doesn't do that again.
I'll bet 10 years of my life that this is 100% Shepard. We see Shepard at the end of ME3 that has many injuries, including on the face. Possibly, that is why there is a helmet there. The most iconic N7 is Shepard. I think BioWare is just trying to throw us off and confuse us when really it's just Shepard. Number one most overlooked or not said or pointed out by anyone yet is that the only known high ranking Alliance is Andmiral hacket and yet we see this character with 6 stripes instead of 4 on each side. Shepard saved the whole galaxy against the reapers. So, wouldn't the Alliance give Shepard the highest rank because of his/her achievements? I mean, honestly, who would be more qualified of that high rank other than Shepard? Who if not Shepard?
could the hacking marketing be this new protagonist actually breaking into systems alliance servers to find info they shouldn't be allowed to see like a meta "player hacks to find info" kinda thing?
The coding of finding a recording, finding binary decoding sequences, using decoded passwords all for info to make trailers.
I'm just saying there's alot of real world hacking and subterfuge symbolism. Then this new mystery character shows up with all black and red, face completely concealed and a silenced pistol.
That's what it all seems like to me, at least.
The character is walking with a bad left leg. It drags just a little. If that is correct this might be Shepard.

I am thinking perhaps the ancient AI found at Voeld may be an antagonist in the next game?
Could she have downloaded herself into a body? She did seem a bit evil and manipulative to me.
