Orc warrior here,i did SGC farm solo on my character, got it at my 4th solo run that was by far the best classic moment for me. P.S:thanks Punk for the videos, they bring me such a nostalgia
You are totally wrong about getting Baron Rivendare's Deathcharger. It's not a case of "it can take well over 100 runs." It can in fact take a million runs, and you may still never get it. I literally did several hundred runs in Vanilla, and I never saw it drop. The drop rate is low enough that farming it is purely a case of luck. You may do it once and get it. You mat do it several thousand times and never even see it dropping.
It could take a million runs, but it starts to become a lot more likely that you'll see it than not after you've done enough. If 0.8% drop chance is accurate, that means you have a 99.2% chance of not seeing it. If you do a second run, then sure - it's 99.2% again... but by doing two runs, you've actually given yourself an overall 98.4% chance of not seeing it. The math is just 99.2% times 99.2% - multiply 99.2% by itself by as many runs as you're gonna do (0.992^n). Let's keep going: 3 runs is 97.6%, 4 runs is 96.8%, and so on - the more runs you do, the more you reduce your *overall* chance of *not* seeing the mount. 0.8% means a 1 in 125 chance - let's say a lucky number is 77. How many times can you roll a random number between 1 and 125 before you get 77 (yes, assuming you can get the same wrong number more than once)? It may start to sound a little less unlikely in those terms, especially when you start doing dozens of rolls! Following this calculation out further, you actually have *over a 50% chance of seeing it after 90 runs, and more than a 90% chance of seeing it after 300 runs!* Yeah - that's a lot, for sure: 300 runs times 30 minutes each = 9000 minutes of undead Strat, or 6.25 days of played time. For a 90% chance. Not outlandish in the grand scheme where many players have hundreds of days' worth of /played time. After 600 runs, there's about a 0.8% chance you WON'T have seen it drop. Finally, for doing "several thousand" runs, 2000 runs would put you at about a 99.9989% chance of seeing it at least once! And if you read all this, I hope you enjoyed your lunch break as much as I just did.
I remember waiting on line for the midnight release of Vanilla back in 2004...Unfortunately I don't think I will have the time to REALLY get into Vanilla like I did back then =/. These videos are great and bring back SO many memories.
for winterspring frostsaber: it is 75 rep per quest and 42000 rep to grind = 560 quests. humans will solve it earlier and in the later stages you could do 3 quests in one turn. and the mount pays for itself, you cannot solve 560q ( means slaying > 1000 enemies) without any usefull drop to occur :D
My toughest grind was that Timbermaw one. Don’t remember what honor level I had to get to, but I did it with my 19 twink. Needed the stamina off the off hand medicine bag. Had to have him follow me while I killed Furbolgs on my friend’s character. Aaaaah, good times!
you mentioned TF, and the time it takes to get one. Got the Garr binding on my first run as a tank in late 05, and solo farmed for the last binding in tbc (friend needed the binding i had, and he had the one i needed), so used 45-60 mins soloing Garr, he then swapped to his pala for Geddon(he was afk on his warrior on Garr, doing family stuff). Didn't get the binding untill WotlK, just around when Ulduar came out(friend got his Garr binding a month prior), so that's like 2.5-3 years of farming.
The most painful grind is the "Bang the Gong" quest line and completing it in the time limit. It's painful to not able to be part of the select few who was rewarded the Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal item. Pain in which you were in the middle of it, and then it's no longer possible.
Still remember doing AQ20 on my warrior and the cloak dropped. This was maybe our 2nd run as a collective guild. Cenarion Circle.. my reputation was for sure friendly... Maybe honored? The cloak had hit and as a fury warrior. I had to have it. Over 48 hours and maybe 6hrs of sleep in total, i got that cloak in time for next week's raid. I think the only other rep grind that came close to CC rep was at the end of vanilla, when my rogue buddy i had met in SFK @level 22 convinced me we needed to be bloodsail pirates. The good ole days.
Got thunder fury on accident. 9:30 at night on retail. Running molten core on a 67 warlock just over the one shot threshold. Farming the lock x mog. Gar. Binding one I’m like wow...best never gonna use it of course. Baron Geddon. Second binding. My gosh I’m lucky tonight. Ok time to look up a guide how to make it. 3 hrs later had it all in place.
I hate grinding rep against my will but i love watching others grinding against their will. If you upload you adventures at wow doing this kind of stuff too believe me ill watch it 5 to 10 times per day ;)... Amazing video man as always man, keep going!
Another banger of a video. Just when I was beginning to think WoW YT content was reaching lvl cap this man comes out with the expansion 😂 see y'all at exalted
I did the AV one to get my epic mount... it was painful, but fun lol. even though I rolled a night elf and I look dumb on it, it's still my favorite mount, and will probably do it again in classic
One could do an entire video on the Furbulgs, worthy grind, great race (better than a few playable races!), cozy lore too! I dig the elvish forest Quest that, if you do Not complete, you can wear the illusion of a ghostly Furbolg for a while ...
Proud Iam! did the grind. I actually loved Winterspring! Did the wintersaber grind . I proudly sport my purpleish kitty is my most beloved mount to run around in, in retail! Because i did it i was there! Long live BC!
You can alleviate some of timbermaw/frostsaber grinds by just grinding in felwood/winterspring once you are 50-55. You're going to be grinding to level up anyway so you can be making progress on two things at once.
Hey man, i'm digging your stuff. you're my favorite wow creator, super smooth and straight to the point, it's awesome. Also, Asomongold and chew a dong, greece ftw. you got me back into wow when classic came out so thanks bro.
I did the Winterspring farm back at the end of Vanilla. Started at 58, ended at 63. BC had come out in the middle of my rep grind. :p It's also where I got my first purple drop! The Jeweled Amulet of Cainwyn! I remember selling it for like, 800g and being rich! :D In retail, it's just a daily quest for 30 days now. Lame AF. I did like when they added in the Horde version in Un'Goro, though! That's a sweet raptor!
Love this one @punkrat ! They love me, they really love me (exalted 😌), hehe. As an original CD-key kid, this brings back so much joyous nostalgia. Have done nearly all these grinds.. funny how I didn’t think they were painful at the time (as a middle schooler), yet, these days they are (or would be) most certainly painful 😅 Thank you for your awesome/entertaining content! Please consider sharing/supporting my endeavor/GFM 💜
There was a gnome warlock named Warla on my server in vanilla who had crazy rep. He had exhaulted with a shit load of factions, some rather unimportant.
Hand of Justice does not drop at Emperor at phase 1. Drops from General Angerforge (got it yesterday 09/15-2019). Loot tables where shuffled later in vanilla. My tip is to run just arena and Angerforge + Golemlord to help your healer get their healing trinket and grab a few casters for the arena since one of their bis-belts drop there.
I never saw someone mention The Felstriker. The dagger from Rend in UBRS. It had chance on hit to guarantee next 3 seconds to land critical strikes. And Iron foe + felstriker was my wet dream as fury.
I can feel the MC grinds... it took me 9 months to get one of the bindings drop and then 5 more until another one dropped (fortunately the other one) . But I wasn't as lucky with Eye of Sulfuras - I've been farming MC for much longer to see it. In the meantime I've witnessed 11 (eleven!) bindings drops, including one raid with both halves dropping in the same lockout!
For the Deathcharger to be in the drop pool, didn't you have to clear it in the 30 minute window? That was my understanding, but that was also 15 years ago and I was a teen.
If you want to set a foot into Naxx, you need Agrent Dawn on... honored at least. The quest materials / gold required reduces with higher rep levels. From memory 14 years ago, I would say, bringing this to exalted is even worse than Timbermaw to exalted.
Pretty sure the drop rate for rivendare’s deathcharger is the same on retail servers. I got it when casually leveling one of my characters and just dungeon farming. That run was that toons first run too haha
Rank 13 is the only grind worth doing. And probably not worth doing with Bgs not being released until AQ, which gives as good a loot for a lot less pain.
Love your vids just wanted to say one small thing, I'm sure you've gotten other comments about it but incase you haven't: OCD is a mental illness not a "omg I totally need everything organised and collected" quirk. OCD highly varies but is an illness that effects every single aspect of ones life. In my case I have a very hard time hugging the people I love not because of "germs" but because my illness has dictated that hugging simply isn't allowed, after every hug I feel sick, my brain punishes me hard for going against it and it can genuinely ruin my day simply by hugging a loved one. So despite me craving the affection I can't get it and that hurts. This is barely barely scratching 0.1% of aspects the OCD impacts on in my life. Meanwhile for another person with OCD it could be the opposite, their brain will punish them if they don't hug their loved ones at every single chance they have to the point of them being unable to not hug them if they are near a person they love. TLDR: OCD impacts everything in my life and nothing of it has to do with collecting, keeping rooms clean or having to put them in a certain way. This general notion of OCD has hurt its reputation since people take it way less seriously so I would kindly ask you to refrain using OCD as a quick word to say "collecting hobby/enthusiast, need for organizing" etc. I hope I don't come across as a needy viewer or anything, I still thoroughly enjoyed the video.
Thanks for posting this. After I heard the word OCD I had to check the comments to see if someone have said anything about it. I'm also struggling with OCD and its fucked up and I completely agree with what you said. I wish you all the best much love
I think the only grinds I would even consider are the Tiger mount, Strat Undead mount, and Cenarian Circle rep. Rank 14 sounds ridiculous, and I think Rank 6 was good enough for me on Alliance anyway. Gnomes look pretty sick on the tiger mount, too. I was so jelly when I saw some.
Hey man, love your videos- keep them up they're great. Just wanted to let you know that you had the Orc standing infront of Stormpike Guard during the AV portion of the video- Frostwolf Clan is the horde faction. Just made it a little confusing and if I hadn't known I would've thought Frostwolf was Alliance.
Bruh I'm surprised you didn't include the shirt grinds from Scholomance and Blackrock Depths I know they have nothing to add to anything but the status of having either of those shirts was some serious shit back in the day.
How about felstriker from UBRS? I figured if you mentioned Ironfoe, you should have mentioned this one as well 😊. Great video anyhow, keep it up, big thumbs up!
the WSG and AB reps are vastly different grinds than most other rep grinds. BG rep is a secondary reward for having fun doing what im doing anyway. Other rep is mindless killing of the same mobs that i wouldnt have anything to do with otherwise.
Honorable mention, Pristine hide of the beast. Requires a 10 man group, and noone wants to clear to the beast just to skip last boss, so expect to do full runs.
A question about loot on Classic. Say you're in a five men pick up group and the rarest mount drops, that undead horse mount for example. Is everyone assured to roll on it or can the group leader ninja the mount, somehow ? Like switching to master looter right before the fight ? In Everquest for example, there is a master looter in every group. If he wanted , he could just give the item to anyone , himself included without anyone rolling on it .
How about make us a vid on minimum hardware requirements and do a throwback to the computers we used to play on compared to what we can expect to be packing now for a GG??
Mmmmhh could Ironfoe's chance on hit effect proc on windfury procs? AND can windfury proc of the two extra attacks of Ironfoe? If so, there is a chance you hit your enemy once and there is an endless chain of procs and you basically hit a damn black hole in your enemy and the universe collapses.. right? 😁

Great videos dude! Keeping me occupied till classic and giving me lots of ideas and advice!
The most painful grind is the "Bang the Gong" quest line and completing it in the time limit. It's painful to not able to be part of the select few who was rewarded the Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal item. Pain in which you were in the middle of it, and then it's no longer possible.
Our dorf MT , rode on winterspring mount. He was so dedicated
Scorpid blood grind in Silithus for necklace from Darkmoon Fair.. you forgot that one. If it still exists in classic
"Other people grinding against their will."
Reminded me of The Bloodhound Gang song: The Lap Dance is so Much Better When the Stripper is Crying.
@@Dyrtbag68 indeed anakin, indeed...
Man does it feels good to farm a reputation at your heart's content, no bullsh*t timegate behind daily quests...
Another banger of a video. Just when I was beginning to think WoW YT content was reaching lvl cap this man comes out with the expansion 😂 see y'all at exalted
Rank 14 grind's gotta be one of the hardest in any mmo. Full PEN in BDO is the only one i can think of that's worse
I did the AV one to get my epic mount... it was painful, but fun lol. even though I rolled a night elf and I look dumb on it, it's still my favorite mount, and will probably do it again in classic
I did the Winterspring Frostsaber in Vanilla, it was long but so rewarding! Also got the Raptor for Horde!
Videos are awesome man! Love how frequently you post new content. I watch you and MadseasonShow leading up to launch everyday.
Hey man, i'm digging your stuff. you're my favorite wow creator, super smooth and straight to the point, it's awesome. Also, Asomongold and chew a dong, greece ftw. you got me back into wow when classic came out so thanks bro.
My greatest achievement is hitting r14 while having two part time jobs and making straight A’s in college. I need that motivation back
I did the Winterspring farm back at the end of Vanilla.
Okanar.. Highwarlord of the Horde in 2004, SO proud of that accomplishment 😎
There was a gnome warlock named Warla on my server in vanilla who had crazy rep. He had exhaulted with a shit load of factions, some rather unimportant.
Proud to say that I will do absolutely none of those.
Bro as a warrior, the Murlocks that disarm for the quest in Swamp of Sorrows. Made me want to KMS, rage quit so many times
Got several thunderfuries in later expansions for fun, then my monk ended up getting both bindings on it's first run.. lmao
Farming rogue tier one once back in like mists and ended up with both bindings in one run, thanks for giving it to me four xpacs too late blizz.
As an OSRS player, these grinds are nothing. Except the rank 14...
Respect sir
sure Jan
i still rode my frost saber when i stopped playing a cpl yrs ago.
the AB tabard was a reward for completing the control 5 bases quest, and you needed to be exalted before you were able to get this quest
When you talked about the sand you should have shown anakin skywalker " I hate sand!"
Go talk about your Disney Princess somewhere else!
Yeah, that wintersaber quest was painful but I HAD to have it as a hunter that had the cat pet already 💪
For the Deathcharger to be in the drop pool, didn't you have to clear it in the 30 minute window? That was my understanding, but that was also 15 years ago and I was a teen.
i wasnt even a teen
Yo guys, punkrat with another video.....love it
If you want to set a foot into Naxx, you need Agrent Dawn on... honored at least.
I love your videos man keep up the solid work brother!
Currently doing the Timbermaw farm rep.
Great video mate love it. Really nice
In the one binding club for 6 YEARS!! Finally got my Thunderfury tho :)
A buddy of mine got the chainmail in the BRD arena on his 326th run...
Rank 13 is the only grind worth doing. And probably not worth doing with Bgs not being released until AQ, which gives as good a loot for a lot less pain.
Love your vids just wanted to say one small thing, I'm sure you've gotten other comments about it but incase you haven't:
OCD is a mental illness not a "omg I totally need everything organised and collected" quirk.
Headmasters charge was also quite painful to farm (never did it myself though) 😅
it's shit so who cares
Never farmed but but always had my fingers crossed. Wanted it even more than my set head.
Bruh I'm surprised you didn't include the shirt grinds from Scholomance and Blackrock Depths I know they have nothing to add to anything but the status of having either of those shirts was some serious shit back in the day.
love your classic vids
My guild was in the 3 binding club. As in, we had 3 bindings from Garr and ZERO from Geddon.
Sleazebag got both immediately when i started soloing mc for gold, and then the item for the hammer, idk if they bumped the rate
Hey man I never played classic before and I'm really looking forward to it. I started in Wrath I'm going to roll a human priest
We were 5 guys in the guild back in the day who had the same damn binding. Had mine for a year and never got swcond part
Requires a 10 man group, and noone wants to clear to the beast just to skip last boss, so expect to do full runs.
might play classic or not still undecided
If so, there is a chance you hit your enemy once and there is an endless chain of procs and you basically hit a damn black hole in your enemy and the universe collapses.. right? 😁
duusii they disabled proccs of proccs cause of windfury proccing itself and stuff like that :P
I distinctly remember having to have night elf exalted rep for it
