  • A former lawyer for the Post Office has been accused of lying about the existence of a bug in the Horizon IT system, which would have explained shortfalls in Post Office branch accounts.
    Jarnail Singh was sent a report identifying the glitch, but did not disclose it during the trial of a former subpostmistress who was later jailed for theft.
    Mr Singh told the Post Office Inquiry he hadn't been aware of the report.

      Sometime last year I read that police are on the case and - especially as of Phase 4 - following things closely. All witness evidence is written under a statement of truth and orally under oath, so no reason for the Met to delay. Long before the Inquiry concludes they'll surely (at least) have enough on which to start 'inviting' individuals to attend voluntarily to be interviewed under caution, then take things from there - arrest/ charge etc.😊

      @dismalfist 2 месяца назад

      @@alanmexico01 I don't think there's much need really. These testimonies are given under oath and there's swathes of evidence now. I think there's more than enough (especially from the catastrophically stupid Mr Bradshaw and Mrs Van den Bogerd) to start some very very costly prosecutions to come. It's good that we have Beer etc to make the most of the time and extract what he can regarding an outline of the truth of things relating to the evidence we now have, and this at least helps to expose the injustice to some degree for those wronged and those who have taken their lives over the fraud perpetrated by PO. But the time for pushing more I think is when we REALLY get to see these people bankrupted and jailed when they have to compensate their victims in the upcoming case after case after case after case. "I don't recall" just won't matter a great deal; we have their evidence now AND their sworn testimonies.

Any professional person needs to keep & retain digital information as part of doing their job. People can learn to do that within minutes. The report he received identifying bugs in the Horizon system was saved and printed out within 9 minutes. With a signature footnote user identification of the person printing the copy from a machine at the bottom of the pages. It's difficult to believe his statement, yet he denies receiving the report. He’s both massively incompetent & a compulsive liar. He should have two jail sentences, one for knowingly being involved in the prosecution of innocent people & another for committing perjury under oath. And that also applies to all the others in the Post Office & Fujitsu who have done exactly the same. They’re all liars and every single one of them should be prosecuted & jailed for what they did to those poor people.
