I know, I don't get the hate for this movie. Sure the inconsistencies are a little jarring only if you watch them back to back. The Laurie sister twist was amazing and it gave reason to Micheal escaping and going back home to finish off the rest of his family. The movie also gave the series a proper ending, killing off Micheal and Loomis to the point that they shouldn't ever be able to come back. But money talks, and the failed Halloween 3 idea didn't work, so bring back Micheal to take on Freddy and Jason.
@@Fezzy976 don’t get me wrong, I love almost every Halloween movie, and I’ve probably watched everyone of them multiple times, so in a way I appreciate the sibling component, because it’s given us all these sequels, but… in the original 1978 Halloween, the idea that there was no rhyme or reason for Michaels Myers random killings, makes it scarier. There is no understanding as to why its happening, and by nature we fear what we don’t know or understand. @@ryangoyette3570 Oh no dude I totally agree and see your point. I just feel that this movie gets over the top hate. Its a sequel, it directly follows the original, so it had to "up its game" otherwise its just a repeat of the original in a different setting. I think it did up its game in terms of voilence, gore, character development and story. I also felt like its ending was perfect, with Loomis finally catching up with Micheal and ending him once and for all. It also has a pretty definitive ending with the explosion and fire. We didn't need the sequels (even though I too loved them all on their own merit). The idea to make the franchise into a sort of anthology with different stories, whilst not a bad idea, just didn't work and because of the popularity of Freddy, Jason and the slasher genre the fans begged for more so they had to bring Micheal back. I felt like this was a bad move and would of preferred to have followed Laurie, seeing how she copes with the aftermath, all her friends dead, he crush dead, learning about her real family, her decent into some form of mental illness from the truma of the events of the first two movies, whilst being haunted by images of Micheal and how she overcomes these horrors. I feel like this could of been a different form of horror, a more grounded and reality based horror. We have all seen countless slasher movies where we see the actual events of murder but rarely do we see the aftermath. I think this could of been a great direction to go in, making Halloween the more mature, adult, and focused slasher movie franchise seperating it from the sort of tongue-in-cheek horror that Freddy and Jason had become. Oh for sure, this and 4 are as decent a sequel as you would want. I think two reeks of the first movie in vibe etc so for me it is the best, has. Good continuation feel to it from the original.
I don't like any of these, but they are important part of slasher genre so I approve. I just don't find them scary or entertaining enough. 2018 requel was one of the worst I've seen, same with The Predator.
This movie often gets mediocre reviews, but I think it’s fantastic. It’s the only sequel that truly feels like the first movie. I enjoy this one just as much as the original.
I don't know if I can agree completely it's as good or better than part two but whenever you have Donald pleasence at the helm it's definitely going to be a decent movie as long as he is in it. The only thing about the hospital that really bothered me was it was so empty I just could not buy that there was only 8 to 10 employees give order and take at a hospital. It just felt so it impossible. But that's Hollywood for you. But overall I thought there's some really good scary moments in the movie and I really dig the synthesizer Halloween music
I love how it takes place in the same night of the og movie, making both movies combined the true 'night when he came home'. One of the best sequels ever made along with aliens and T2
I don’t mind Michael being related to Laurie, and actually like that twist. It gave a reason to why Michael stalked her in the first movie. Michael kills all his victims immediately when he sees an opportunity to, but Laurie is the only victim that he played hide-and-seek and peek-a-boo with. Without that familial explanation, why was he watching her through the school window and behind picket fences? Was he just a shy boy with a crush on her? Nah, it just doesn’t work without that familial connection because of how Michael acted in the first movie, and how he’s acted in every single movie since.
Because he saw Laurie drop her dad’s keys off to his family home before she went to school. That’s why he followed her. But you’re right. Laurie’s foster dad asked her to drop keys off to the house her sister was murdered in, on the anniversary of her murder, while her brother just happens to be there waiting for her because he knew she would still be in the exact same town and knew exactly how she would look. Kind of makes Final Destination seem practical.
By that logic though, why did Michael waste time stalking her friends if he just wanted to kill his sister? Its more horrifying knowing they aren’t related. Its just some psychopath who decided to kill people.
He wasn't just stalking her, he followed her friends too. Notice how in the original they aren't in his way at all? Yes we're shown that he follows her mostly but it's because she's the main character. Why is it not acceptable that he's an escaped mental patient who went back to his hometown n started stalking a group of young girls because he's a mental patient..
You're looking at it with the knowledge of all the other Halloween movies man. Erase everything you know about Halloween, and rewatch the first one. Michael just goes home, then Laurie walks up to his front door, and Michael is standing right there, and immediately starts stalking her And her friends. There's no rhyme or reason why. Halloween was originally named "the baby sitter murders" he's just killing babysitters.
Me too man. It gives the story some depth to it. IMO they should have kept the sister angle for 2018 and just forgot everything after Halloween 2. I understand Michael is meant to be pure evil and it’s best never to explain why he’s like that but to have Laurie as his sister makes it very disturbing.
It actually mentioned it in the first film. In the Tv version when Michael escaped smiths grove loomis looks in his room and Michael carved “SISTER” into the door that’s how loomis knew where he was going
@@HoustonSoto "Loomis SAID he shot him multiple times in the chest." Even then they were still doubting and almost making a joke of what Loomis was saying lol I get it though, who could still be walking around after getting hit 6 times lol ONLY M.M 🎃
Halloween II is primarily the reason why I was terrified of “The Shape” as a kid. I don’t remember seeing the original Halloween, but I think once I saw Halloween II, I became familiar with Michael Myers all too well. The revamped Halloween theme in the opening credits of Halloween II also became a terrifyingly nerve wrecking precursor to the frightening death scenes that awaited me later in the film. The death scene that really traumatized me when I saw it as a kid of course was the scalding/drowning of nurse Karen scene. It really did a number on me back then. Lol But, overall because of the slow building suspense and atmospheric cinematography of Halloween II, it is the most memorable and truly terrifying sequel in my opinion out of the entire Halloween series. I’m excited to see Halloween Kills, but I honestly wish that Halloween II was included in the events of Halloween 1978.
I watched this movie recently. I get the negative stuff said about it, but I think there's some really good stuff in the movie. Also, I'm glad the *real* problem of the movie was addressed. The death of Ben Traymer, Laurie Strode's crush.
This is honestly my favorite fim in the Halloween series, with Halloween ‘78 a slight notch below. Love Nick Castle’s original take as The Shape, but Dick Warlock takes it to a whole different level. Also really love the atmosphere of HII, as it legit feels like it’s taking place on Halloween night. It’s haunting af
Except it should have literally been the end of the series. Expert marksman Laurie Strode shoots out BOTH of his eyes and, clearly those were some special bullets that only poke out your eyes and stop before going though the brain killing him.... Even IF you buy that he survived the explosion, Halloween 2 should have been the end of the "series" Halloween 4-Resurrection shouldn't have happened. Human beings cannot grow back their eyeballs back and a blind Michael Myers isn't very threatening.
Maybe, Dr. Loomis did shoot Michael Myers 7 times??? ..,... ..but, Dr. Loomis, couldn't pronounce , 7 Times , so he said 6 time's.....lol..lol.....LMFAO....
I love this movie. Great twist. Great concept. Laughed so hard when Loomis chased the wrong man, getting the man killed, and causing a traffic accident!
Dr. Loomis’s madman like action in Halloween 2, Loomis literally saw Michael fall from the second floor ( which might not kill him depending) but a normal man wouldn’t walk away so easily and he took 6(7) shots. So thinking of it like that Loomis kinda is acting reasonable but still crazy.
There were two versions of the ending, one where Loomis is shocked when he sees Michael is gone after the balcony fall, the other that's in the film is the opposite. It's kind of odd that he is calm and unsurprised, yet frantic in the sequel set on the same night.
I love the first 2 as a pair, basically one big film. And the brother aspect works for me, it doesn’t hurt the film at all considering what Michael did to one sister already.
It’s an extension of the first one basically one and two are one long movie. Thought it was a pretty good sequel. Not sure why the horror nerds over complicate it
Love Halloween part 2. Made sense why a psycho killer is after Laurie and only Laurie (trying to kill his family) and then later the daughter and the grand daughter. In part one he goes only after Laurie and kills those that stand between him and her. It made it scary that you might get murdered being friends with the wrong people ( Laurie and her future fam ).
I love how it takes place on the same night, the hospital feels so deserted and creepy,I wouldn't want to be getting chased by the Shape in some creepy hospital at like 3am on Halloween night, fuck that ,😂🤣🤣 really love this sequel, great to watch during Halloween season
I was too young to understand where carpenter was coming from back then and ya know no social media for everyone to cry on, that being said I totally get it now but personally I always liked the sister twist and was a little bummed that it was changed in 2018 but it's cool. Still the same awesome slasher I grew up with!
@@elijahmcelroy I highly agree and can't lie, I kinda just pretend that the the telepath niece and cult stuff doesn't count or is a whole other alternate universe type thing.
@@elijahmcelroy yeah, they didn't need to keep pushing the family crap. i also think without the sister angle him being so damn hung up on Laurie 4 decades later makes little sense. but i think the whole town of Haddonfield being obsessed with a man who killed like 5 people 4 decades ago and then spent the rest of his life in a hospital doing nothing makes the reboot incredibly stupid.
I’m just tired of these let’s hate on Halloween II to make Halloween 2018 sound better. John Carpenter constantly trashes Halloween films and Halloween II is actually a really good film. Luckily I love this film, Halloween 4, H20, and Halloween 2018. If John Carpenter had his way we never would have had a Halloween 3. Just a brand new title altogether. No sequels. I’ll enjoy the films I enjoy regardless of the man who didn’t want to direct this film. Halloween II felt like the only film to capture the first films magic. Regardless of the twist. And even then the twist serves that films plot alone.
@@thebogeymaniscoming No. His original plan was to not even do a Halloween 2. It was just meant to be Halloween. I don’t hate Halloween 3. But I don’t really want to listen to the man who bashes every other Halloween film. It’s okay if I can make my own judgements on a film.
I have always considered 78 and 81 to be one long movie. I did see HII first way to young, eight years old, on HBO I think. It gave me nightmares made me uneasy about going into a hospital, something I still don't like doing to this day especially at night. Ironically enough it was also the television cut of HalloweeN, I saw before the theatrical cut, so the whole Laurie sister connection was canon to me before I turned ten in the early '80's.
I saw this movie as a kid and still find it watchable to this day so it can't be as bad as Carpenter thinks it is. I remember the scenes in the hospital had people yelling at the screen in the theater.
H2 1981! A masterpiece!! Seen it in the theater when I was kid!! It stuck with me for years!! Still 1 of my favorites!! It's still Going strong after all these years!!
Just purchased this film (again) thanks to Scream Factory releasing a 4K collector's edition. I picked up Halloween and Halloween 4 as well. They all look great.
Saw this movie on Vhs at a very young age and still love it. Don't mind the family connection and love Myers stalking people in a almost completely empty hospital with nothing but victims and no other patients except the one kid who got some "bad" candy...
The best part of the film aside from the incredible score, is the opening 20-30 minutes. It almost seamlessly builds off the tension of the previous film’s ending. (aside from Loomis gaining like 40 lbs on his way down the stairs and his jacket becoming white with an obnoxiously huge collar) In my opinion however, once Ben Traemer dies, the movie declines severely. Bracket who’s conflict with Michael is set up in the previous film with his daughter’s death, is abruptly abandoned, and he’s replaced with another random cop which removes all potential investment with the characters. While Donald Pleasance consistently gave Loomis so much personality and depth, the truth is we no absolutely nothing about him, aside from he was Michael’s psychiatrist. He’s cool to watch, but there’s little to grasp on it as an audience. Laurie Losing all of her friends in one night, Bracket finding out his daughter was killed are emotional tethers for the audience to latch on to. But once Bracket leaves and Laurie is put into a hospital bed, there are no characters left who experienced the horrors of the last film, to cope with those events in this film, so it feels kind of hollow. Loomis once again is aimless, literally being driven out of the movie to be told exposition, and then driven back into the movie at the end. Laurie is sidelined for two thirds of the movie, leaving us with a hospital of disposable horror cliche characters. The hospital setting is a fantastic idea, but falls apart from fundamental flaw: We never get a sense of how many people are in the hospital, characters instead introduced and killed as we go. Where is the mother, and The kid who ate the razor blade? We see them go into the hospital, but we don’t see them leave. There’s no cutaways to other patients in a hospital that would likely have many There’s no sense of geography, or awareness between characters, where any normal group of people would try to group up after the first couple deaths. Here, everyone is just in different rooms doing their own unrelated thing. There’s even an entire room of babies that is completely forgotten about. I think of Prince of Darkness, which is similar in that there’s a confined building full of characters, with evil trapped inside with them. We know where everyone is, where everything is, and what they’re doing. Halloween 2 uses its location just a set up a series of death scenes which is disappointing. The same going for Loomis and Michael who all just seem to teleport to places. Michael disappearing for a good 10 minutes of the movie at one point. Overall, an entertaining movie, with some great scenes and a phenomenal score that improves in the first in my opinion, but as a whole, the film has so many missed opportunities.
@@williamgiesen4910 Perhaps I’m mistaken, and was remembering the tv version where it doesn’t show it. But the overall issue is we never cut to him or any of the other patients who may be at the hospital, so we never get a sense of the location and who’s in it.
Atmospheric with some really creative shots and lighting. A few schlocky tropes make their way in which I always ding this movie for, but for the most part this is a damn good slasher movie and is always super rewatchable. I also enjoy the world building that’s going on here-the entire town really becomes a character in this movie with the locals discussing street names and locations with that kind of folksy familiarity you only get when you’re around people from small towns. Also, it gets all the meat and potatoes stuff right: great kills, a creepy version of Michael, a good mask. It’s actually my favorite Halloween movie and I watch it more often than the original.
Halloween 1 & 2 taking place on the same evening was brilliant. Regardless of whatever has came afterward, these two are far superior to the rest. N I was terrified of the hospital chase scenes during my first watch.
I always felt robbed with Halloween II. It not only underutilized Laurie's character, replacing her for more scenes with the uninspiring hospital staff, it absolutely blew the creepiness setting of the hospital. The hospital might be the most ingenious setting for this series and it does not do the awesome setting justice. In fact, much of the hospital's scenes are boring as hell. Despite having such a fantastic backdrop for Michael's mayhem, I actually felt the most engaging parts of the movie happened on the streets of Haddonfield: either Michael's early movie roaming or Dr. Loomis' interaction with Brackett/Hunt.
I loved the twist that Laurie is Michael’s sister. It gave the first story meaning as to why he stalks her & her friends while letting others pass by because they don’t interest him. Whether or not we liked it the cult of thorn(which I thought was garbage) add in gave more depth to why he hunts his family down. I feel like the movies just fail to give us one storyline everyone can be happy with. Since there’s like 5 different universes if you wanna call it that
I'm sorry, but this still the second best one. This one is actually pretty dang good and it is infinitely better than any of the other sequels. The brother thing gives Michael a motive for coming all the way back to Haddonfield, rather than just starting his rampage immediately after escaping the hospital. That plot twist didn't have to ruin any future sequels and saying so is giving a pass to the failures of those later writers and directors. The new continuity also makes no sense. How could one deputy have caught this leviathan, that from the first movie has been shown to be superhuman? He couldn't. Why would this embodiment of evil peacefully sit in a psychiatric hospital for forty years without hurting anyone? He wouldn't. It doesn't make any sense. Furthermore, I'm still pissed about the filmmakers making the claim that there was nothing supernatural about Michael leading up to the 2018 movie, when in that move he does multiple physically impossible things that would require superhuman strength to do. Then in the new movie he kills a significant portion of the Haddonfield population in ways that no human being could possibly accomplish, all after being beaten, stabbed and shot. Shitting on this movie, while fanboying on the new continuity is pretty weak.
The stalking scene in the storage basement when that damn elevator simply will NOT arrive quick enough...just fantastic tension and one of my favorite scenes in any slasher.
Well he grew back both of his eyes in Halloween 4 after Laurie shot out both of his eyes...Clearly not only is Laurie an natural expert marksman but, had those special bullets that only shoot out your eyes and stop before going into your brain killing you on the spot.
@@Facesofevildead420 he had to be I mean damn he was shot and stabbed a million times. Plus he knew how to drive and could make stuff move with his mind. He knew who Lori was even though he was locked up and he knew how to get to his town even though he was locked up most of his life. He was very supernatural
Regardless of its history, I love this movie as it was my introduction to Halloween and was readily available, en loop, on HBO. I was too young for the original and no one in my family would grow to love horror as much as I.
The thing about the brother sister twist that people seem to forget is that HII was intended as the end of the Michael Myers storyline. It’s not this movie’s fault that they decided to keep bringing MM back. If you keep that in mind, it’s not that bad of a twist. Also kind of disheartening seeing Carpenter trash the movie and Rosenthal who apparently was just trying to make something similar in tone to the first movie. I don’t know how long it’s been since he’s publicly talked about it, but it would be nice to respect that most fans of the franchise like the movie
The only thing I really had an issue with in H2018 was how PTSD'ed Laurie was. It was a one night with a killer and the way she was acting was like it had happened for several weeks and that she was primarily being stalked. Michael was never truly after Laurie, he was just there to kill whoever he pleased. If H2 was considered Canon in this new alternate universe then perhaps I would have accepted her mentality a bit more.
I don't think that's how PTSD always works. I think that one night was traumatizing enough to affect her. Even if she wasn't the main target, she still was hunted down by Michael. If it went untreated, it probably got worse over time.
I think we're dancing over something else when it comes to that night. Laurie was in the presence of pure evil, something with no rhyme or reason to it. That, more than anything else, may have been what made the way she was in the current timeline. Once something like that has touched you, you're going to be kind of screwed up. Look how Loomis slowly gets crazier and crazier in the original timeline to see my point.
Spot on!!! I was watching the movie thinking. The Laurie we saw in part 1 if we're just counting part one would most likely move out if town an changes her name (like in H20) rather than become Sara Conner
I love Halloween 2..it's great! It was meant to be the final film in the series so how can it be blamed for being a problem for the future sequels? Those sequels shouldn't have happened.
@@cablehogue599 season of the witch is an underrated horror gem, and can kinda explain why Myers went crazy as a child, he was wearing in my opinion another iteration of the masks that turn kids heads into bugs, but for him it makes him the "shape" explains how he seemingly kills his family out of no where. Just a small fan theory.
as a 10 year old, i loved watching this, by myself, while my mother worked 11-7, no father or babysitter. damn saying this out loud makes me think i might have a few issues. the ending was great with that creepy sandman song.
I actually thought of the dream theory as well. In the 2018 film it would have been nice to see a real quick flashback of all the horrible masks after Halloween. Just to chalk it up as everything after Halloween just being a dream.
I think they should have kept parts of this movie as cannon and somehow explained that the explosion at the end didn’t happen (dream theory) and that they are not siblings. I found it hard to believe Laurie would be that traumatized as we see in 2018 just from the events of 1978. If part 2 happened, she would have had legit reason to fear that this killer would still want to get her for some reason.
I got all kinds of fever dreams. There’s so many remix and rehasches that aren’t even worthy but some but actually do it justice the franchise that is. Love your show man
I saw this before the original. When I was a very young child, my aunts would often babysit me. They were watching this and all I remember is being terrified of hospitals for awhile afterwards.
Halloween 2 is my fave, him walking down the steps was bad ass, as Laurie she was in the basement and she was trying to get away had me screaming at the TV RUN Laurie!!!
I actually loved how the sequels were so inconsistent and many times, bad. I think it makes the universe of this franchise more grand and fun. You have the serious movies and the silly slasher movies
Yeah it’s probably my favourite of the series after the first it’s interesting how this film was adapted and made with the sister thing , it’s my guilty pleasure and scared me as a kid in the 80s
I wish this canon to the 2018 timeline. The twist at the end is amazing and hw2 is a great film. I think it makes sense, the meyers family lost their daughter, their 2nd became a serial killers, so they have another child to recitfy the wrongs. To avoid the mistakes of the past and save the meyers lingeage they putt her for adoption to avoid the mistakes of the prior children. I hope they write it back in, they can easily do that.
Little side note.... I bought the VHS for this flick in the mid 90's at a K-Mart in New York City..... My mind was blown away how a K-Mart was laid out on multiple floors in a building.....
I remember growing up watching this movie as well as the original. My sister and I used to watch this and lots of other horror movies and TV shows. She loves this movie to this day but for me, not so much. I didn’t hate it but I knew that something was different about it compared to the original but I couldn’t put my finger on what it was. This video explains my exact sentiments about the movie. Again I don’t hate it but the first Halloween was different, it was unique because of the suggestion of violence instead of the in your face graphic violence in part 2 as well as the execution of the first movie.
You are way to hard on this movie blaming it for mistakes other filmmakers made with future entries! Halloween 2 is a great follow up and is still the best sequel in the series!
Hi! I'm creeped out by the whole dream theory bit, BUT can now understand the direction that they went in for the 2018 reboot which is, in all honesty, my favorite of the entire franchise besides the original one from 1978.
I never disliked this movie at all. I first saw them so close together that I always thought Laurie being Michael's sister had been at least implicitly established in the original. The only odd part is why a hospital would be dimly lit and nearly abandoned. If anything ER's tend to be more crowded at night.
I go back and forth on the whole Laurie and Michael are siblings thing, sometimes I like it, sometimes I like Michael just being a boogeyman, idk lol 😆

Does make more sense
I actually love the brother-sister connection. It kind of explains his relentless pursuit of her.
Me too man. It gives the story some depth to it.
IMO they should have kept the sister angle for 2018 and just forgot everything after Halloween 2.
I understand Michael is meant to be pure evil and it’s best never to explain why he’s like that but to have Laurie as his sister makes it very disturbing.
Yes agreed, it makes the movie more realistic to Me💯🤷🏿♀️😏🎃
@@davidw5532 If they kept Halloween 2 they would have to acknowledge him being shot in the eyes and burning alive. Wouldn't really make much sense.

Halloween 2018 is the best Halloween sequel.
When he busts through the glass door is top 5 best moments in the franchise
Yes. Loomis is at his wits end. How could one be normal after watching a man you shot 6 times off a balcony continue to go on a rampage

John Carpenter is the reason there was a Halloween 3. That’s his original vision for the franchise.
I love Halloween 2. I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid.
This is an awesome movie. Personally the first two are the best and the only ones I recognize. Anything after that forget about it.

(aside from Loomis gaining like 40 lbs on his way down the stairs and his jacket becoming white with an obnoxiously huge collar)
In my opinion however, once Ben Traemer dies, the movie declines severely.
The hospital setting is a fantastic idea, but falls apart from fundamental flaw:
We never get a sense of how many people are in the hospital, characters instead introduced and killed as we go.
Where is the mother, and The kid who ate the razor blade? We see them go into the hospital, but we don’t see them leave.
There’s no cutaways to other patients in a hospital that would likely have many
There’s no sense of geography, or awareness between characters, where any normal group of people would try to group up after the first couple deaths.
I like these points your brought up a lot.
The movie does show the razor blade kid and the mom leave the hospital
@@williamgiesen4910
Perhaps I’m mistaken, and was remembering the tv version where it doesn’t show it.
But the overall issue is we never cut to him or any of the other patients who may be at the hospital, so we never get a sense of the location and who’s in it.
4 is the way better sequel
To be fair, michael is absent from a lot of the original film too. His presence should be felt, but he shouldnt always be seen.
Love this sequel, I love the theory of this being her aftermath nightmare the ending with fog and smoke is very dreamlike
Not to mention the theme song of “Mr Sandman bring me a dream”
Ehhh..Halloween 2018 is better than Halloween 2 1981.
Just watched this for the first time yesterday. I was surprised it has a bad wrap, it might be one of my favorite sequels.
Halloween II is arguably better than the first.
She was a patient in a hospital.
Yeah Friday the 13th part 4 uses the hospital setting more effectively, and that was 10 minutes
I think the hospital setting was effective.
Since there’s like 5 different universes if you wanna call it that
The best movie in the franchise......my opinion!
I agree! 👍
“YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT DEATH IS.”
The stalking scene in the storage basement when that damn elevator simply will NOT arrive quick enough...just fantastic tension and one of my favorite scenes in any slasher.
I like how Michael's eye regrew itself in a matter of hours after Laurie stabbed it out with a coat hanger in part 1
Well he grew back both of his eyes in Halloween 4 after Laurie shot out both of his eyes...Clearly not only is Laurie an natural expert marksman but, had those special bullets that only shoot out your eyes and stop before going into your brain killing you on the spot.
She doesn't stab his eye out, in 2018 he still has it but it's damaged. Not gone.
He is supernatural
@@robertpreston2220 eh I mean he's described as a force but I don't think in 1 and 2 he's supernatural.

John Carpenter has been age 73 for the past 40 years
I loved this movie. I actually thought Michael was scarier in this movie than the first
The only thing I really had an issue with in H2018 was how PTSD'ed Laurie was.
Agreed 100%
So true 👌
1981 Halloween is actually my favorite Halloween movie next to the original, It’s a better sequel than 2018 imo.

To avoid the mistakes of the past and save the meyers lingeage they putt her for adoption to avoid the mistakes of the prior children. I hope they write it back in, they can easily do that.
except it undoes the theme of the first...that evil can be anywhere...
instead it makes evil a REALLY specific scenario...
Laurie being his sister isn't a problem at all, the problem was having Michael go after other family members he never knew about.
Hi! I'm creeped out by the whole dream theory bit, BUT can now understand the direction that they went in for the 2018 reboot which is, in all honesty, my favorite of the entire franchise besides the original one from 1978.
The fact that the person they absolutely destroyed with the police car, who they thought was Michael, was actually Ben Tramer is hilarious
I never disliked this movie at all. I first saw them so close together that I always thought Laurie being Michael's sister had been at least implicitly established in the original. The only odd part is why a hospital would be dimly lit and nearly abandoned. If anything ER's tend to be more crowded at night.
