Hearing that Donald Plesance was actually invested in Halloween 4, and knowing how well received Danielle Harris' performance was, just makes me love that movie even more.
Akkad pushes Carpenter out over not wanting a supernatural element. Proceeds to add a supernatural element on his own.
I just watched Halloween 3 the other night...it's criminally underrated.
It would have not even come close to the numbers it DID do if it wasn't called Halloween 3. Blah!!!!
It was criminal for sure a crime against Halloween....
The trilogy that formed my childhood
You were blessed
@@robertpreston2220cursed 😂
I grew up with the Thorn Trilogy.
Same. I was more fond of them when I was younger than I do now. But I'll always put those movies on halloween
Still my favorite trilogy timeline 6 is my favorite out the franchise
I feel sorry for you. ☹️🎃
@@Horrorking181Ugh. You poor thing.
I love the thorn trilogy. Renting Halloween 4-5 VHS tapes and having sleepovers as a kid is something that I miss very much. Then waiting half of a decade to see part 6 in theaters is a memory that I’ll always cherish. I know people make fun of these, but they’re my favorite and always will be.
This will forever be my favorite timeline...
same
@@robertpreston2220Agreed, you both have good taste.
Thank you@@joen8529
Mine too 🎃🧡
Nostalgia is a heck of a drug.
The "Thorn Trilogy" was fine by me (well at least 4&6). The Trilogy would've worked better, had they gone with the twist of Part 4. Whomever approved Halloween 5, the way we got it, totally dropped the ball. The biggest problem I had with 6 was that they killed Jaime off.
I hate 5 so much i put resurrection above it. I know that most others say the opposite but 5 for me is borderline unwatchable. Great fbi torture device
Spot on @anthonyclark! my thoughts exactly 🎃🔪
I have not seen them since I binged them as a teen lol I remember Halloween 4 was really good and H20 didn't age well at all and it was only in Halloween 2018 (which was an above average film at best) that I realise it has always been about different timelines. This franchise as a whole is very inconsistent and the fact it constantly starts new timelines to erase previous installments and how some other franchises are replicating it (like Terminator) isn't really a good way to deal with the established canon to me, in fact it really hurts it.
I feel like you could do one for the Nightmare on Elm Street 3-4-5 ‘the Dream Trilogy’ cause it is one underrated set of horror sequel films that flow incredibly well altogether and way better and more consistent than the Thorn trilogy. It’s a rare, actual proper horror trilogy as it has the consistency in story, quality and theme with each film. Rewatched Nightmare 3-4-5 back to back recently they genuinely have such good continuity and should be seen by more people especially 4 and 5, criminally underrated films. And I do know you open your videos with the iconic line from Part 4 and you seem to be a big fan of that film in particular, so I’m really putting this proposal on here, hope you don’t sleep on it ❤️
Agreed.
Or the Nancy trilogy (1,3,7)
Dream Warriors (the best) and Dream Master are a good double feature. The drop-off from there is substantial. I have some nostalgic fondness for 5 but I could go the rest of my life without seeing it again.
this narrator sounds like Norm MacDonald lol
Part 6 was the first Halloween I saw in the theater. By the next year (1996), people were already posting about the producers cut.
I have seen the producers cut of H6.
I have yet to watch the theatrical. Even though I have it in my collection. i will one day.
To me the Pcut of six is the best in the franchise. I wish they had done the sequel that was planned for it!
Same. H6 was my first theatrical one. Good times.
Incest film
I love Halloween 4. It was my first Halloween movie, and it was my "white noise" movie for many years. I'd pop my old Anchor Bay VHS into my VCR before I went to bed, and I'd wake in the morning to static on the TV. I had the saturation on my TV turned up a little high, and it always seemed to lend a supernatural glow to the orange text and autumn sky in the opening credits.
I also love the Curse mask. It looks like it's made of stone or granite, as ancient, immovable, and indestructable as the evil that powers Michael.
And yes, Howard Stern was approached to play Barry Simms, but he turned it down because he was busy working on the film adaptation of his book Private Parts.
It's a shame we got plenty of Halloween themed anthologies. But we never got john carpenter's
I'm glad we got more Michael Myers, but I am interested in knowing what other ideas he had.
John Carpenter’s filmography is a halloween anthology lol. Anthology franchises don’t work unless there are recurring characters or a bunch of shorts put into one movie. That’s why the tales from the crypt movies and the Cloverfield movies didn’t work while the conjuring universe does - the Warrens hold everything together and are basically involved in all of the spin-off demons. Anthologies also are breeding grounds for bad unmade scripts that get the franchise name slapped onto it. That’s what they did with the Hellraiser series. So we would have likely gotten one additional anthology movie and the franchise would have been dead.
Check out his lesser known movie from the 90's Body bags. It's set up sorta like Tales from the crypt, and he actually is the "host" sorta like the crypt keeper...it's a good movie
@@jackiezukoski5305I agree, Body Bags is a good movie.
Halloween 3 is still a classic imo
It’s a great movie.
I'm that weirdo that loves all three of these movies.
Youre not weird. They do have their charm. In their own way.
H4 is great, it retreads H1 with a twist.
H5 has a lot of issues, but still has its moments.
H6, depending on the cut you watch, can make or break the thorn trilogy. I still stand by my stance that Jamie should have teamed up with Tommy and Loomis.
Same here. Watched all these films on AMC and sci-fi back in the day
2018 trilogy is bad. I WILL die on that hill. (That ending music is great)
I will too with you!
I rather the OG sequels :) we stil got Dr Loomis in them.
Worse ever the latest trilogy!
danielle harris had an incredible performance in both movies
Shame she didn't have a bigger career. I respect her for still being in the Halloween fandom
Michael Myers being purged of his evil and becoming a good guy yet not given a chance due to his reputation and the townspeople would have been a really interesting idea. I wish that could have happened
I grow up on the Original and Thorn Trilogy 😊
Same here. That is the original and true Myers. Not all the endless reboot crap that came after
Lmao 1st 2 movies, Myers WAS supernatural. Never just flesh and blood. That was the twist of the climax of the first one. No man, I don’t care how crazy they are, can take all that damage.
Yeah once you do a sequel to the original movie, you’re dealing with the supernatural. The twist of him getting up from the gunshots was meant to make the audience scared, but if he’s not dead, something supernaturally evil is fueling him.
@@CarloisBuriedAliveThat's the whole aura of the Boogeyman. He IS supernatural. Why they try to humanise him is against the whole idea of Carpenter's vision.I agree.
@@CarloisBuriedAlive bro. He was not normal even if Halloween was a stand alone film.
@@Filthy_Larry I agree - I’m just saying the ending of the first film was definitive proof lol
@@CarloisBuriedAlive lol awesome. There are people out there who still feel after 1978, he’s only flesh and blood when even Carpenter said that Myers was always more than just s man.
Wasnt a fan of the cult direction it took but the dr.death storyline woulda made more sense. I also feel like this guy keeps up on this franchises comments across FB and YT. He is right about how split the fans are towards certain things about these films 🎃
The CROW would've been an excellent entry into the HALLOWEEN anthology.
THE BEST STORY of the FRANCHISE!
Yeah. I see people say online that the cult and thorn curse "over explains" Michael. But I dont worry over that because in time they would have to give us more backstory to Michael to "meat up" his stories so they stay fresh and interesting. We see with the later movies they just keep on rehashing the first movie.
The cult concept doesnt bother me, the cult doesnt fully control him. I wanted to see him break out of their control and slaughter them and evolve on his own, proving that no one can control him, except evil itself.
agree
yes sir Rob @@robertpreston2220
some how when i was a kid this was my first vhs i remeber having a video store was shutting down so my mom asked what movies i wanted i picked halloween 4 and the great pumpkin. i will always have a soft spot for this one and watch it every year
Love Halloween 4, my fav of the franchise. The mood is so good
Love H4. Except the mask. It isnt scary. Other than that, it is great. The twist ending is awesome!
@@ItsaKindOfMagic86 yeah not a perfect movie by no means but for me it’s the most nostalgic
I unapologetically LOVE Halloween 4, it's my second favorite next to the original; that being said part 5 & 6 are...not great to say the least
Yeah I am not a fan of this franchise in fact I haven't watched any of them in years (besides the new reboot trilogy if you can call it that... they did not plan it at all) but Halloween 4 really stood out above the rest. In fact, H2018 felt a lot like Halloween 4 at times except it was more chaotic and relied on nostalgia way more it practically is an original and H4 rip off lol
6 being such a big miss was a disappointment because that movie had one of the best masks in the franchise
5 is kinda fun tho. Shanks was an awesome michael. Sammy was hot
I love the thorn trilogy. 4, 5 and PC 6.
100 percent!
I was a teen when these hit. I liked the Thorn story and was excited for the mystery to get solved. 🙄
Me too. The ending of H6 in the producers cut gets me so amped and then lets me down because they never continued on from that point.
And with the passing of Donald Pleasence it would make it difficult too. But I so wished that Jamie Lloyd wasnt offed in H6.
I want to know what becomes of Michael's son. He's gonna be a cursed and gifted baby for sure.
I know so many of us had so many questions never answered and Pcut of six answered them!
There was a planned sequel to the Pcut version of six. That sounded real good but we never got it@@ItsaKindOfMagic86
I grew up with this trilogy. Wish they continued the story line. Like they did in comic books. Which connected the thorn trilogy with h20.
I'm so glad three got the love it deserved
I love the thorn trilogy! I feel iy perfectly explains why Michael went evil very suddenly, why he only returns particular halloweens, noy every halloween and it very wrll explains why he appears so immortal and recovers very well from 90% of his injuries. Love this trilogy and kind of wish they stuck with it for the remainder of the movies. Love the othet movies that followed but would have been nice to thorn thrown in there too
Totally agree! I'm in the same boat.
Exceot I dont like the movies that followed H6. I wanted a continuation of from H6. Like a "son of Michael Myers" sequel.
I just wish they didnt off Jamie Lloyd. she is my fave Halloween final girl.
Things that didn't need explaining until Halloween 4. The first movie did a perfectly fine job explaining how he operates and the injuries he had at the end are far from unreasonable for someone to walk away from, especially with an adrenaline rush. Much smaller and weaker people have survived far worse.
There was to be a sequel to the Producers cut version of part 6 that sounded great! but they went with h20 instead sadly. and its been crap ever since@@ItsaKindOfMagic86
To me the Pcut of six is the best in the franchise. I wish they had done the sequel that was planned for it!
Thorn trilogy was great in my opinion having him indestructible, but still getting injured. If only they would've added more elements to it to make it a little better that would've make it a success to continue. Of course, I think the first death of Laurie Strode in Halloween Resurrection was a better, smarter, and more realistic move on Laurie's part than Halloween Ends. Ends just focused on Corey Cunningham growing as the next vicious Michael Myers, only to be killed off by Michael and commit partial suicide. In a way, he was actually stronger than Michael Myers was.
I grew up to the Thorn trilogy
The last movie may have been a cluster F, but I honestly like the Thorn time-line. Mainly for Loomis, the series just isn't the same without Donald Pleasence 😢
Better than the Blumhouse trilogy any time of day.
SPOT ON! YES! A THOUSAND PUMPKINS YES! 🎃🔪
BY FAR!
I remember H6 mainly due to the scene where Michael breaks down the bar gates by pressing a guys face against it. Memorable kill from when I was 6-9. I don’t remember it from my childhood so I knew back then it wasn’t great because I remembered other horror movies well
Rachel is the biggest problem . She could have died in Halloween 5 but at the end. Let her basically do everything Tina did and scrap Tina , and then on top of that actually bring back Danielle Harris. Like what the actual fffff was that? Complete middle finger to the fans to bring her character back without the proper actress and either kill her off in the first ten minutes or shoot her in the head unceremoniously in a hospital bed??? Like are you serious . The thorn trilogy could have been so good if somebody just actually cared man. I feel passionately about these cuz they were what I grew up with but as I got older and realized the holes I was so disappointed
I feel like the cult stuff could work well with Michael myers, it was just executed very poorly, but it works because Michael isn’t human and some people are ok with just not knowing but til this day we don’t know what Michael really is.
Yeah with some more polished writing it could have been legendary. They were trying to add some freshness so they dont just repeat the same movie. I like that they tried. I dont mind at all Michael being fleshed out with ties to a cult and curse. It helps fill in plotholes. Yes some people dont like Michael having his origins over explained because they prefer him to be mysterious. it is possible to still keep him myserious with the Thorn backstory, just have him break free from it and ta-da he is on his own again - after he wipes the cult out in a masscare, proving evil itself controls him. At some point you cant avoid fleshing out characters. Even Jason Voorhees has gone through some wacky ideas to keep his movies fresh.
Watching this again, I had to come back to say that 1989 really screwed the Unholy Trinity over. We got the worst and lowest performing Films of Elm Street, Friday, and Halloween all in 89. The fact that 89 had some surprise hits, and surprise "flops" all throughout the year, deserves it's own Documentary. Especially what the year meant for Horror/Slasher Films. 89 changed everything.
1989 :( the end of the 80s era...
tho some 80s in spirit things did spill over into the early 90s
Nightmare 5 is actually still the highest grossing slasher film of 1989 and rewatching it recently I really liked it I think its really underrated like Scream 3 back in the days
Since Michael is currently dead, it would be cool if they revisited the anthology idea for potential sequels. Halloween 3 is a silly movie, but it's gotten some more respect in the decades since it came out.
Watched it for the first time in years as a forty three year cynical old man yesterday. It's absolutely appalling stuff doesn't age well at all.
They have tv rights so maybe they can do the anthology thing there just don't let it become ahs, the first few seasons but it got stale
@teethonthecurb161 It's trash, but fun trash in my opinion.
I prefer the Dr. Loomis saga myself. (HALLOWEEN 1978, H II, H IV, H V, H VI PC) It has the most logical progression. It first appears Michael is a random killer. In 2, we see he has at least some reasoning. In 4, we see him going after Laurie's daughter Jamie. In 5, we see Rachel die. But Tina briefly takes the torch. And a new threat is coming. ✝ Then in H VI PC, we see the threat is MUCH larger than we thought it was.
This was a great video!! Thank you. I definitely agree, Halloween 4 is great! Concur, 5 is ehh. And Halloween 6, not bad, i dont hate it. I love Paul Rudd, and you totally nailed it on the atmosphere of the movie, it’s a beautiful autumn feel, and now makes sense, since it was filmed in the fall, in an area that has that seasonal cold weather, foliage etc. and I love your last line, “halloween 6, I got your back”
Me too!
As Far As I Know , Unless you count the producers cut of pat 6 , there is no Thorn Trilogy. 5 and 6 are the only ones with that Thorn cult.
4-6 are hands down the best ones, besides arguably the 2 originals!
I've learned to appreciate the thorn trilogy in my own way. Except for 5 I just kinda pretend that little event never happened and Rachel is alive and well.
I do like this, but going by this how would you explain Rachel's absence in 6, did she die off screen :(
@nicholaschen4432 I wouldn't dare want to burden you of the pain that is Halloween 5. The worst movie in the series . I made another comment it is such a terrible movie I prefer resurrection over it. If you must know just watch the first 10 to 15 minutes as the rest of the movie doesn't even matter . The rest of the movie after Rachel's fate adds absolutely nothing to the rest of the series. H5 is just something I never want my poor eyes to see again. But I agree that Rachel was a great protagonist and she should've absolutely been in Halloween 6!!!!
It does make sense to have Jamie ( As a teenager ) follow her uncle's footstep but the plot have to be spot on ( as in Michael Myers have to die & have Dr. Lumis, Rachael, try to stop her ).
That cult was a good idea
I think so too. It falls in with the theme of Halloween. I wanted it to line with the coven in H3. but they set H3 in its own universe, whcih they shouldnt have done but they wanted to distance themselves so far from Michael Myers. A halloween anthology I would be down for. And a continuation from H6 so we can find out what becomes of Michael's son. He would be cursed and gifted like his parents.
It was great to finally have answers!
Halloween 6 mask is my personal favorite. It scares the shit outta me 😂
I love Halloween 4
THERE'S ONE TIMELINE!!!!! ORIGINAL, II, 4,5,6,H20, resurrection is a mistake. during III (it's own thing) Jamie is fostered, Michael continues his killi after being in a coma after 2 (he is scarred from the burns) as is Loomis. the eye thing, just weak writing/continuity. so, jamie is told her mother died ( it's summed up in H20 Laurie FAKED HER DEATH) so 4 happens, 5 continues, 6 happens after. michael broke the hold the thorn cult had on him, tommy is there, tells Loomis he survived the original attacks. now, H20 happens, Laurie had moved on, has a son. no mention of jamie, because she was fostered. simple. there's no MULTI TIMELINES, the original-resurrection, the 1 off creative, unique III and five imitations.
This is the only one I’ll watch. I like it.
I prefer to think the thorn movies are still part of the later Laurie movies.
In my headcanon, Laurie fakes her death either to run away or draw away Michael from her daughter.
H20 was even written as a sequel to H6 Pcut, that's why there are so many parallels like Laurie's "death" being a car crash in both, Loomis surviving the explosion (but dying of old age; why let Loomis survive H2, to let him die of old age, if it wasn't part of the COT timeline originaly), them never finding Michael's body (if it took place after H2's explosion, why look for a body that likely burned to a crisp?; the line referred to Michael leaving Smith's Grove at the end of H6 Pcut and them never finding his body), Michael's overall look in the scene when he killed Marion Chambers (wearing the H6 mask with grey coveralls and his stature being more like H6's Michael than any other version of him).
They only made the dumb decision to cut out the direct references, like Laurie telling her son about Jamie, and therefore creating tons of plotholes (like Michael having eyes and no burn scars in H20, with him only being a simple psycho instead of a man controlled and empowered by a supernatural force of nature).
The comics later did, what H20 decided not to do, connecting H6 Pcut with H20, while fixing some plot holes.
I love Halloween III!
Season of the witch is EASILY the best Halloween movie. The thorn trilogy is dope as well.
PAUSE min 38:46. Just want to say Thank You. Part 6 is my favorite of all the movies
To me the Pcut of six is the best in the franchise. I wish they had done the sequel that was planned for it!
@@robertpreston2220 Same here. I am so happy I finally got a copy of the Pcut for a price that wasn't 80+$.
So sad, that we didn't even get a H7 and H8 comic book, if they didn't want to make it into a film. It worked with Freddy vs Jason vs Ash, so why not trying it out?
Also imo Michael was the scariest and finally a three dimensional character in H6 Pcut instead of a charcater without any persinality you could swap out for anyone else, without changing anything of the plot. I like the whole Michael is innocent and a victim himself angle. It adds to the character a lot and lets us understand, why he acted in certain ways in certain situations.
@@valeriebreidenstein8362 very cool that you got that! I agree so much with what you said. Shame they mess it all up!
I thought I was the only one who enjoyed Curse of Michael myers for what it is. Sure, the plot is junk. But outside of the 2018 reboot or the zombie remake, we';ve never seen michael unleashed like this. It's fun!
I adore the thorn trilogy, particularly 4 and 6. Michael is legit scary in many moments throughout the three movies, we get more Loomis, we get the Rachel/Jamie sisterhood, an unhinged adult Tommy who serves as the original 2018 Laurie - knowing he’s out there and investigating him. Kara is a single parent trying to do what’s best for her child. 5 made a lot of whacky decisions, but 6 did its best to actually paste all of it together in a way that tied into ancient Celtic Halloween origins. I wouldn’t want every single Halloween to be like Curse, but I think it’s an overly hated film and certainly “switched up the formula” long before Corey existed. This trilogy is a lot of fun.
4 is tied with 2 as my favorite sequel and I prefer 6 over 5.
Loved Halloween III
I swear I saw a version of 5 where the dog talked telepathically it was on paramount
Halloween: Stabbed in the neck with a knitting needle, poked in the eye with a wire hanger, stabbed in the abdomen with his own knife, shot six times, falls off the balcony.
Halloween II: Shot 6 more times in the hospital, shot twice in his eyes, and was burned alive.
I understand what Mr. Akkad was thinking, but like did he not add a supernatural element Carpenter wanted to do in the unmade Halloween IV? Just seems weird to me.
I need to ask something, this is the second video I've seen where someone says people in Haddonfield know that Jamie is Michael's niece, but I never saw it that way.
I thought the kids tormenting her at school were just being mean and didn't know how right they were about Jamie's uncle being the boogeyman.
Doesn't Jamie even say something about the kids at school being right when Rachel tells Brady that Michael is Jamie's uncle as if they have only just found out themselves.
Maybe I'm just a dumbass. Anyway, feel free to let me know if I missed something here.
I woul have to go back and watch the movies for a confirmed answer
but maybe some of the elder folks - particulary the older ladies - gossiped in town and the rumor got spread that way?
Michael looks like a plum when he’s stood next to that geezer in the cloak by the altar 😂😂😂😂😂
This is the Halloween movie I find unique as well as different they keep Michael Dark as Dark as he was in the First 2 movies Michael returns and changes how he kills abit and the camara trick they started in H4 and kept doing in more Halloween movies like twice in H4 in gas station Michael appears and looks like he’s at a distance before Michael got his famous mask at the store when Loomas shoots at him he finds out it was a mirror trick somehow with myers face showing another time in H4 Jamie in her room saying her prayers and Myers appears in the Mirror to check out his target in a Thunder storm and used the same trick 2 times in H20 that mask sucked
Micheal was never a human flesh and blood typical human. Even in the first movie, didn’t Loomis say he’s not human? And in the first, he lifted a grave stone, and lifted up Bob with one hand, and shoved a knife through his body and impaled him into a wall. A human could not do this. He was more than human even in the original movie.
They're all great! Even the bad ones! 😂
Does anyone else hear Lucky from Dr. Doolittle talking in this? Lol
Personally do halloween like this, if want, do halloween 1 and 2, and end there, but if want more can go with thorn trilogy, though recomend 6 watch directors cut version as way better, than theatrical it has at least conclusion for donald pleasce loomis character though dark one.
Halloween h20 is in my mind as close as definte closure we ever got, i just pretend some times ressurectoin and modern triolgy never happened.
New trilogy started off good, though just rehash of first, 2nd film just more the same but decent then ends just terrible for me, after saw like ressurection have no plans ever seeing it again.
and in part 5 Since Myers Fell in the river and such his mask grew a bigger nose somehow and his hair grew instantly way longer too.
I love 4 but 2 will always be my fave. The fact that they erased it with the 2018 reboot was so dumb given it was a continuation of the same damn night. I get that they wanted to undo the "sister" link that pt2 started but it woulda been less awkward to simply say "we made a mistake, she in't related to him". Cuz the part in 2018 where the friend of Laurie's granddaughter says "so he's a guy that stabbed a few people like 40 yrs ago, big deal" wouldnt have been needed had 2 stayed canon and now he also survived 6 slugs and then went on to kill the staff of a hos[ital an a few other random fold, making him seem super dangerous. But as for 5/6 I will watch them when they're on but I put 5 tied with Fri the 13th pt7/8, Leatherface TCM3, and Hellraiser 3, and Curse is the equivalent to Jason goes to Hell for me. Halloween 3 is the equal of Fthe13 pt5, Nightmare on Elmstreet 2 or New Nightmare
Part 6 > parts 4&5
This narrator cannot say a single sentence without following a very specific speech pattern. Literally everything he says is this slightly delayed (awkward unnecessary pauses in between words). Reminds me so much of the family guy sketch where the emperor figured out the dialogue “something something darkside. Something something the force.” This narrator: “the film of Halloween… was to be released… in 1978… under director… John carpenter…”
I didn't even notice until I saw your comment, now that's all I can hear. Lol.
Is it really a “trilogy” though? Part 4 has absolutely nothing to do with thorn it’s not even mentioned it’s more of a two film thing I always get puzzled when people call it that because only 5 and 6 have thorn in it and it’s very minor in the 5th film as well it’s mostly just the curse of Michael myers.
They did show the thorn tattooed on Michael's inside wrist during part 4 somewhere
Where?
It is about Jamie and her connection to Michael. Which they should have paid that off in H6. But dropped the ball. H5 is to blame for the bad set up.
I do like the trilogy though, what it could have been had it been handled better.
I still want my H7 "the son of Michael Myers" I want it! 🔪🔪🔪
🎃
They never showed or mentioned thorn in part 4
Thorn Trilogy is best trilogy. It's too bad they didn't continue on after H6. I would literally take any film in the Thorn Trilogy over any film that came after it.
I was born in 1988, the year this trilogy started.
4 is prime to me as a good Halloween sequel, then the rest killed it.
I still would have loved to see Myers in bandages then a white Data mask.
the bandages would look better than the mask used in H4
H4 mask is one of the worst masks in the franchise
the worst. Resurrection too@@ItsaKindOfMagic86
I like the thorn concept.
The only issues is H5 needed a lot of work, it had major issues that bled into H6.
And Jamie should have teamed up with Tommy.
The Thorn storyline it mixed among Halloween fans
it is, but that is ok
we can all share ideas on how to fix it, rewrite it, retcon it, ignore it and scrap it
we got options
I prefer to analyse and fix it and rewrite it :) it has some good elements and moments, just mishandled, but my bias is Jamie Llyod is my Halloween final girl. I cant skip this trilogy.
I loved finally having answers
i will forever, be grateful to debra hill, for giving us, our beloved series. however, learning that she was the reason that girard, directed 5. i have mixed emotions right now. we all make mistakes. but, that was a major, royal screw up.
I'll take the thorn trilogy over the new trilogy any day of the week
Agree!!!!!
not even close! the new ones are garbage!
Where do you rank the Rob Zombie Halloween movies?
There’s a video that has a thumbnail that shows H1 Myers, H5 Myers, and unmasked Rob Zombie H2 Myers and none of them want to hang out with the new Myers.
@@lionelhutz5137 personally I fvcking love them!
the brutality and carnage in Rob Zombie's 2 films is a super rad change up from the less is more formula in the OG movie... imo that's how remakes should be, somthing that takes its source from the original but goes in a completely different direction.
and honestly shout out to H2 for its depiction of trauma and mental illness, it definitely made Laurie a more tragic and grounded character
To me the Pcut version of six is the best in the franchise. I wish they had done the sequel that was planned for it! Instead all we got was crap after six!!
way too much hate for this trilogy, especially from those who think Ends is such a good movie.
They could’ve made Michael Myers play into insidious the movie like he was in the dreamworld, and an evil spirit got into Michael
Fun fact ( at least to me ) my son's name is Jaime and he was born in June...smile
Who here watches Halloween even in December?
28:06 the Dynamite.
Barry looks like DJ Qualls
The thorn plot started in Halloween 5, not 4.
iS Halloween 4 considered part of the thorn trilogy
Thron trilogy is still the best continuation of the timeline. H20, I've never been a fan of it. The tone and atmosphere is so off and odd. Resurrection is bad, but I find it dumb fun and don't hate it to the degree that most fans do. I actually enjoy it more than H20. Then we have the david gordon green trilogy ignoring the original H2 was a mistake imo. But halloween 2018 was good, not great, but good halloween kills was fine as a follow-up and 2nd entry. Then we have ends, which is a strong contender for the worst film in the franchise, which destroyed what could have been a decent trilogy.
Let the people on fb groups they will argue that 4-6 isn't a trilogy
Halloween 6 will always be my favorite out the franchise my first Halloween i saw in theaters at age 7 still love it the cult gritty storyline was amazing Michael was scary as hell too amosphere was very on point just love the weirdness of how dark it is
i have yet to watch the theatrical, I do have it, but only seen the producers cut
I will watch it tho, when i get some snacks and make my movie room more comfortable :)
To me the Pcut of six is the best in the franchise. I wish they had done the sequel that was planned for it!
H6 incest script was never planned when making H4 and 5..
dam bro has anyone ever told you you sound kinda like norm MacDonald ? that's a compliment in case you was un aware.its not all the time just certain words you say or phrases.
Can't unhear it now pal ! 😂
I think you meant NC-17 not X
This video just serves as a grim reminder why I only enjoy the original.
13:44 In my opinion , then they messed it up with that Dumb looking mask.
Maybe this is a hot take, but I mhch prefer Carpenter's original idea of an anthology series. Maybe they could've tried to seed interconnective tissue between original stories like shared supporting characters in order to maintain interest, but there's only so much you can do with what was originally a very self contained story.
Oh boo
The sister angle
I'd take the Rob Zombie ones over this trilogy. 4 was the only decent one.
Can I say that calling Halloween 4 part of the thorn trilogy is a mistake , none of the thorn elements are introduced til 5 , which itself in only a slightly better movie then Halloween resurrection , and that movie is so bad in my personal canon is just a terrible alternate ending to that timeline
This timelines would have been 1000% better if they got the mask right. Still I love 4,5, and 6. 5 being the weakest of the trilogy. The ending of 4 was dynamite..
