    I have 2 questions
    I m 37years now,done post graduation in orthopedics from pakistan,but my qualification is not valid in UK.
    I have chosen path of PLAB rather than MRCS
    My questions are that
    1.Have you seen people of my age coming this way to UK and have been working at the junior level?
    2.Did anyone got surgery residency?

    • @nuttywatty
      @nuttywatty 4 года назад +1

      You can certainly do PLAB at age 37 but to move forward in surgery you have to pass MRCS and get a training ticket in surgery

    I’m asking if I completed my internship - which is 1 year- and then directly finished my PLABs seeking job opportunities there at the UK without having clinical experience. Will I get the training job as a CT1 training or as FY2?
    Even if i’m looking for non-training posts would they be FY2 title or CT1?
    Or the whole thing depends on the jobs you find (i.e you can find both of them and just look up for CT1)?

    After plab1&2 why applying for a job? where you already a specialist or the job is for specialisation. I want to pass the plab exam in other to enter in a residency. And can we apply for the job without being in the uk ? And also during FY where you paid? And also the foundation year is only in one specialty or it possible to switch from one speciality to another ? The specialty where one does his Foundation year does it play a role after ? Sorry for the multiples question

    Greetings Dr Ivan, I've got a question for you. If you were to take that first job offer whose hospital wanted you to be at the F1 level would that have forced you to spend an additional year as an F2 in order to get the FPCC so you could apply for specialty the following year? Or could the 12 months in F1 allowed you to become licensed and apply via CREST form for specialty the following year?

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  3 года назад

      That offer was a 2 year mandatory rotation of FY1 and FY2 after which they would sign the CREST form. Failure to complete it would mean that they would not sign it.

    After I take OET/IELTS do I have to finish both PLAB 1 & 2 in two years, that is within the validity of IELTS/OET ?
    or
    Is the validity only for registering with GMC, and we can have more leeway with booking exam dates ?

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  4 года назад +1

      PLAB 1 and GMC registration require valid IELTS/OET.

    Can i go back to my country after finishing PLAP 2 and if i get my exam results as "succeeded or passed", i can apply for jobs while i stay in my country and do interviews online in a video meeting or something like that if i can not afford staying in UK for long time after taking PLAP2 exam?
    Or that's not possible and i will have to go again to UK or stay in Uk after taking PLAP2 test to wait for the results and make interview in person in uk?

    • @RoadToUK

      You can apply from home and do your interviews online.

      If you were actively seeing and treating patients, that will still be considered as clinical experience.

    Very informative thank you very much ❤️
    I have done my 12 months clerkship (minimum of 3 months in medicine and surgery as required by the GMC), but we have patient interactions for only a couple of months, due to the pandemic rest of the rotations were online simulation. So do I get FULL GMC registration? I cannot find anything regarding this on the website. Please help if u can
    Thank you 😊

      You're welcome! Ultimately it would be down to GMC to decide, but there is no reason to think they would not accommodate it given the global situation.

    Why did you choose going to abroad and not settle in your country with post graduation?? I mean to ask why abroad is better than our home country?
    By the way I belong to India

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  4 года назад +1

      Before 'better' or 'worse', I thought about my opportunity and circumstances. In Bangladesh, post graduation is very competitive to enter, stressful, and unbalanced in the passing rate. Also, I took into consideration the pay in the long term as well as the work-life balance, and it just made sense to me to look abroad.

      @@RoadToUK 1-Din't you faced racism or indifference at first?
      2-How is the relationship with your colleagues,friends and the working atmosphere?
      3- Is it easy to live away from parents and home country?
      4- How is the workload there?
      I am sorry for putting up so many questions but I just want to be sure about moving to UK...I feel very helpless about this descision as it does not include my parents.
