Yes, but comparing them to regular couch potatoes and their diet is ridiculous. These guys have an insane amount of muscle, allowing them to eat the extra calories and not get fat. The Chinese do a lot of bodybuilding work in combination with regular WL training. And also from what I've heard they did a bunch of cardio in that year to get in shape for Tokyo. All that together and you have a calorie BURNING MACHINE that can basically eat a lot of "junk food" with little consequence. Plus they all have elite genetics, that probably helps too haha.
Yeah but he probably doesn’t talk abt all the protein supplement he takes to maintain his muscle mass here and from what I heard he skips lunch - or only has fruits and dairy. So he likely hasn’t eaten much calories until his dinner which is apparently a bucket of noodles lol

Team China is on the anabolic noodles. Just jokes, I wish I had noodles given to me by the General Sports Administration. You look at how China treats their athletes compared to other countries it's astonishing
the noodles arent worth a lot of money but the administration is afraid that food additives in the commercial products could have cross contaminated banned substances. A lot of commercial facilities make all sorts of products, the same machine used to cook flavor packets could have contained meat with banned substances. This is the same reason olympic athletes in China are not allowed to eat meat in regular restaurant when they go out to eat.
"Oh yh, just let our most prized athletes buys random crap from the supermarket with shit ton of chemical flavorings & additives is certainly the way to treat the athletes? " you see the irony in the statement?
@@papurika451 let's be honest, they spend a lot of time and money to make sure that they don't get detected, so they have to have this kind of control to ensure no detection, don't be so surprised
btw im sure the chinese team is aware tat uncle sam is trying to sabotage them at every opportunity which includes slipping in banned substances to their meal. So the chinese team has their own nutritonist and cooks to make sure no unwanted substances enter their athelete's bodies.
why does it feel like the weight class change is a way to target Chinese athletes? Most Chinese athletes are best in the smaller weight category but it seems like the weight classes are changing to target Chinese athletes... For example, Tian Tao and Lu Xiaojun feels much more comfortable in their previous weight class than the current one but I guess China have most of that lower weight category on lockdown for gold and IWF / Olympics Weightlifting is not liking it.
Maybe it is to make more competitive weight classes because Olympic weightlifting won't be an Olympic sport if China wins everything. I think that's why China can only send 8 athletes to the Olympics too
the proposed classes are pretty good for the Chinese tbh. 61 with Li Fabin; 73 with Shi; Tian Tao is more comfortable at 89. 102kg and above was never that competitive for the Chinese. A little harder on the girls side, what with Kuo being in 59, but I'm confident Deng Wei can either beat Kuo in 59 or move up to 71 with weight lifted to spare. Li Wenwen just wins even more in 81+. They're not getting all the categories they got before but other nations are hit hard, too. Like, Russia is completely wrecked now that 102+ is a cat. Women from around the 80kg area are completely out of the competition with Li Wenwen. Loredana Toma probably has no chance at a medal in either 59 or 71.
When you're craving some spicy noodle soup on a winters day, nothing else really hits the spot. To make it more healthy, reduce the spice packet (I do it by half and reduce water too) and add in copious amounts of spinach, Chinese brocoli or book choy, cover and microwave for 2 mins. 👌
