@Mohamed Shamloul Yes that must be it, thanks for posting ! I knew I had seen some of it before but could not remember where or when I first watched it. Then the day after posting I was thinking Weightlifting House had an earlier video. Its great content. Hopefully my lifting will be better than my memory :)
If Lu doesn't train the overhead press and the bench press than what is the main driver of upper body strength for him? I've seen him doing weighted dips and a person from the chinese team doing weighted push ups, which could be him. Wouldn't those things also create stiffness in the shoulder, arms and chest and limit his overhead mobility for the squat jerk? I'm just starting olympic weightlifting and i'm using the overhead press and bench as my main presses, so this video gets me wondering what an ideal upper body exercise selection would be for oly. For lower body we all know the fundamentals, the high bar back squat, front squat, snatch and clean pulls and deadlifts, but for upper body it doesn't seem as clear to me. I also wonder about back training creating lat tightness and restricting overhead mobility.
