Ah! The legend himself Lu Xiaojun. Learnt so much from him by watching his videos. And the plate lateral raises (called Lu Raises) are truly wonderful. I do them 3 times a week and my shoulders have never been more mobile and healthy
Also a big fan of Lu raises... I love the video where he is demonstrating them with 5 kg and someone asks him if that's the normal weight he uses. He laughs and points to the 15 kg plates and says no, we use the big boy plates. 😂
The genuine interest in unconventional/unconsidered strengths that you show and subsequently create in your audience is truly something you can be proud of. I love seeing the aspects of training people generally don't consider, such as designated moments of peace being just as integral to training as the lifting or technique.
Tea Time with Lü is so wholesome! rly moves me almost to tears that Master Lü is there for the Adepts aswell. Utmost respect to you guys, this was really interesting and also moving!
Already annoyed everyone by sending the entire playlist to the series 🤣🫣 but very amazing production value. You guys are actually crafting art and it shall not go unnoticed!
Been following you Martins for a few years now, didnt expect you to be so good not only in sports but also in storytelling. Keep making these videos as long as you can. Greetings from Slovenia.
I just want you to come read me a bedtime story. But seriously your candor in story telling is what makes this series. This is binge worthy of the highest level and thank you for this amazing content!
The most inspiring thing I find in this journey is the Tea ceremony Lu Xiaojun uses before training.. it's a time of meditation, it helps the mind focus and be present.. it gives meaning to the whole adventure.. and prepares the body and mind to overcome the hardships ahead.. everyone needs to incorporate a similar daily ritual before training.. whether it is a walk, a talk over the phone with a loved one, some writing on the personal notebook.. or a tea ceremony.. I love it!
Honestly this is the best series on RUclips currently. I never thought I could watch a video of ping pong, but I even had a laugh when he called the balls tiny atlas stones.
I will never get tired of saying it, there´s something incredibly emotional about this series... Thank you so much Martins and team, I really appreciate everything you share with us! Much love from Barcelona!
First time I've seen Lu since the ban. Looks like he's downsized again and not prepping for Paris/4th Olympics unfortunately. This is easily my favorite episode since the visits to JF. Can't wait for the 2 hour episode to be posted. Thanks for everything you do, guys, and amazing documentry
"The true value of his weightlifting achievements doesn't reside in personal fulfillment. His joy stems from the ability to provide for his family to uproot them from their Village Life And to offer them a better existence." To me, that is more admirable than just competing to be the best. It's similar to what NBA MVP Nikola Jokic once said, "Basketball is not the main thing in my life and never will be." It just goes to show there's more important things in life than the glory of sports.
The fact that you are truly sheding light to this cultures and disciplines is a true novelty, plus the humble and Joyful way you guys go around through all this documentaries spread to the viewers making it a Joyful experience. This and the basques are my favorites so far, well done 👍
The finger tap to acknowledge tea or to say thank you or enough. From what I was told in Taiwan . It starts with Emperor Qian Long The legion is that Emperor Long used to travel among the citizens in disguise to get a feel of how everyday people were living. One time he went to a restaurant with one of his servants and actually poured his servant a cup of tea (which is unheard of for an Emperor at that time.) The servant had to show he was grateful but didn’t want to do a customary bow since it would blow the Emperor's cover, so he tapped his fingers on the table to show the Emperor that he was grateful. ( the article was borrowed online `- but was the same story i was told
i've listened to thousands of documentaries produced by the greatest channels and producers . Without a doubt, you are both making world class documentary I'm blown away. Everything is on point. It's a masterpiece
Amazing video once again. Your narrations mixed with your conversations and genuine reactions make each of these videos a joy to watch. I even got my wife to start watching your videos now. We are strength.
Nothing better then finally see Pantera live for the first time, arrived home and see that you did release another video from this series. One love. thank you
Awesome work Martins! Your approach is 100% professional, yet humble and respectful. Your mini documentaries are captivating, entertaining and highly informative!
Beyond excited for this one. Lu xiaojun is an absolute legend of the strength world, and seeing you and him together is a dream for fans of strength sports, especially with how well put together and filmed these episodes are. Thank you so much for this amazing content Romark and Martins!
Martins And Romark. This content is of the highest quality and is amazing to watch. It’s like a snowball and every video gets better and better. Can’t wait to see you at Liverpool in November
Loving this series and the discovery of the underlying universal language we all speak with our bodies. Just goes to show that there are very similar characters in any culture and there is so much enrichment that can come - even for a guy that climbed some mountains where only one can stand at the summit.
I loveeeee these series. I learn a lot about the different cultures you encounter. It is so humbling to see how we all love training, and to think open minded. The respect you and your team gives to the people you meet as well is awesome! Makes you a great champion!
damn i was hoping this would have been longer, but Lu XiaoJun is retired so probably didn't get a heavy workout in, definitely finally showing his age.
Ooooh, please do another olympic weightlifting episode!! If you can get in touch with Squat Jerk Journalist, Tian Tao and Shi Zhiyong it would be awesome. They are probably very open to something like this and would love the publicity!
Good series, that guy is so off cycle now, but good to have an interview with a multiple gold medalist, that's a good get, you guys are doing a great job.
Shoutout to 'Tins and Romark, y'all have really done an excellent job at channeling that inquisitive, slightly wistful "Parts Unknown" vibe You can really tell how you have the same approach as Bourdain, you just focus and connect mainly via strength sports instead of food
I'm loving this global strength journey. So much to learn. Thank you for the amazing videos, I can tell you're putting in a lot of time and work into these.
Amazing video, great production. Next time you are in china you should try to meet the chinese male gymnastic team, they have great pound for pound strength.

Unbelievable series and so underrated
Lu Raises are the truth, dude. They've basically fixed my shoulders.
Absolutely love the Borudain vibes. This series has so much potential
Please don't kill yourself while masturbating
Ooohh yes it was familiar but I didn’t know what it was! Man I miss Bourdain but getting this kind of format with weightlifting is really great

I think he is done, no front but he looks like he is not training at all. One of the G.O.A.Ts of wheightlifting. All the best for him.
@@1986Edelweiss1 Yeah, he is too old to wait out a ban. Hell he was probably too old to hope to regain his old shape and win Paris.

What a great episode! I've been working on Lu raises for a while now, people giggle at the gym but it's fantastic!
Given the geopolitical weight of success at the Olympics it was really grrst to see how helpful, eager to teach and share Lu was to American visitors.
