Interesting he talks about the deeper breath holds. Idk if bodybuilders or weightlifters still practice this but back in the silver era and golden era of bodybuilding, those guys used to train dumbbell pullovers for rib cage expansion and practiced deep breaths -- to the point where they could blow up those thick rubber balloons during strongman competitions. I'd imagine if one could expand their rib cage and lung capacity, they could probably get a squat PR just from that.

So when he moved to only squatting to hit the 321kg he basically just shifted that volume from the lifts and put it directly into the squats instead. It's not something an amateur can do, but a professional weightlifter with 10 years experience can because they've built that training capacity.

5x5 at 80% intensity, 1 minute rest in between sets, five times a week... ungodly amount of volume, over 32 metric tonnes/week.
I'm sceptical. Someone who can actually translate what he said becuase I think the interpreter messed up.
Even if he rested 10 minutes in between, that's still alot of volume. AND to repeat it the FOLLOWING day... hell no, he's legs would turn into jelly after the first session.
Not saying it's impossible, but doing it consistently at 80% every single day... WITHOUT being sore? What kind of drugs he taking to speed up his recovery? I got like a million questions rn...
