The work ethic and the respect everyone shows for each other in these videos is something special. This is such an inspiring trip with a great bunch of guys.
That Japanese coach is very knowledgeable and easy to understand even with the language barrier. That’s the best thing about sports, they transcend national borders.
Not commenting often but this memory misc stuff you showed at the start was a bit touching, we often draw the line between us and the content creators but those things make you feel like a genuine nice guy that i want to follow. I hope you are having the time of your life with this trip and creating memories that your future self will be proud of. Thanks for the videos as always.
I really appreciate seeing you talk about other things than just lifting during this trip and showing more. Really cool and also really funny to imagine kids coming up to Clarence to touch his body XD
This content across your 3 channels is so much fun. Feels like an Abroad in Japan / Weightlifting crossover. Just a couple guys hanging out, traveling and having a blast.
@@96afnb first thing i noticed was the admiration even when it wasn't all that heavy which makes me think that they see something that my untrained eye doesnn't (not a weightlifter)
@@neilmcmahon even if he could, there's a likely chance that they just wouldn't have his size available especially since he's much bigger than the average Japanese person. If he's got some pretty big feet, let's say US size 13 and up, he's basically screwed because most places in Japan wouldn't have that size besides some specialty places that specifically carry large sizes.
All of this content you guys are pumping out is an absolute blessing, man. The Toshiki stuff is unreal, the QNAs on Sikas channel are fantastic but mostly just the general Vlog type material is my favourite. I feel like we're really getting to know you guys better through this as it's almost like we're coming along for the ride. Lastly, a huge shout out to the translator. What a legend!

Womb was the first club I ever went to in Tokyo and I had no idea what I was walking my friends and I into😂 we walked in at around 11 and when we walked back out the sun was up😂glad you enjoyed!
Very cool video! Glad to see you over here. Thanks to this video, I could find out about the gym Tsurumi. Also, they went to Enoshima, which technically isn't an island. The beach is in the Shonan area and it's far from beautiful. I'm sure Toshiki would admit it. But, it's the most popular beach for Tokyoites. This is off season. A month later, you won't be able to see the sand or the water 20 meters out because of all the people and trash, with Japanese reggae pumping all around. It's a unique experience. Thanks for this content. Loved it!
Zach! The Gorilla Mind ad you have @ 0:32 completely screwed up the audio/video sync. There's no audio to the ad, so the audio from your video overlaps the ad
Ah, thought I recognized the Enoshima bridge the Miura peninsula from beginning. Beautiful island which has seasonal displays at the top garden where the viewing tower is located. Not sure if the video covers it, but gyms in Japan are resistant to customers with tattoos and tend to forbid recording in regular gyms. Outside of Tokyo it'll be much more difficult to find Olympic or powerlifting focused gym with appropriate equipment. They exist though.
I'm surprised the little kids were so interested. Maybe Toshiki and Clarence were like superheroes in civil for them, looking super jacked and fit on the beach. - How was your trip to Japan? The food culture must have been awesome, what did you eat? - It was great, I ate burger! - So what are you gonna eat now back in US? - Probably go for a sushi or ramen. Honestly though, I think another culture's burger/fast food special meals tell you a lot about the country's food culture. This weightlifting class in Japan feels kinda like you're never too good to expose yourself to different teachers at various levels and different places. You can always learn new things and get new perspectives, seems like in weightlifting every nation has their own focus points in the lift. It's fascinating that Toshiki had the same tip to Eoin in squat, keeping the wide chest. And I can tell why weightlifting educators warn about using straps. Without experience that lost snatch could've done things.
It's wild how they can do so many high intensity weightlifting sets while jetlagged and still manage to find the energy to edit videos and go sightseeing.
Idk about anybody else but I can respect anyone who's willing to put on Alan Walker for any occasion. At the 12:14 mark you can hear what I believe to be 'Force' by Alan Walker
Idk if you guys are still in Japan, but maybe y'all could check out the Kodokan? You and the sika lads could get some jitsu going, Clarence doing judo would be interesting too. Also good vid👍, it's cool to see various training styles/methodologies that are used by different countries.
Can you do some in depth stuff on the Japanese programming? I've always been so curious to see what it's like since as far as I know they're one of the only countries that never imported Soviet or Bulgarian coaches.
Sound is allll kinds of fucked up and out of sync for me, like there were two or three audio tracks set to hidden and no one did a preview listen of the edit. The audio for the video clip at 9:55 starts at 9:14, so maybe the whole thing is just off by 40 seconds
Yeah but it's not ideal and he'd be the first to tell you that. Weightlifting shoes are a huge benefit, and if you're a beginner, not having shoes is just another difficulty to add to the pile.
Bruh lol... when they lifted, none of the Japanese want to watch Eoin. Put some respect on that mans name!! :-) Great video ZT. You continue to bless us with awesome content.
Translator deserves an award. Did such a great job of translating all this technical stuff in great detail.
japanese are high iq ppl due not mixing much and developing their own culture. They are the germans of Asia.
It's really interesting how chest posture was one of the first things both Toshiki and the WL coach here noticed in how the boys lift
Seeing Toshiki and Clarence in the same room was probably comparable to seeing Godzilla and King Kong in the same room
Because Toshiki is Asian and Clarence is Irish?
@@Artix902 No it’s cuz they are fucking massive

IMO don't be shy about the travel vlog stuff - it's very interesting to see Japan and I'd definitely watch an even longer video to accommodate it
I agree, it gives the series a much more special touch. Really sets the content apart.

Yeah, i never really thought about lifting when i was on holidays, but this certainly got me motivated to look for WL gyms during my next trip abroad.

The organization of the equipment and cleanliness of the platforms are mint
Love how humble coach, zack and Clarence are

Loving the vids and how you make sure to ask questions and be involved in the weightlifting class. Very insightful stuff
