I took Sika Sleep for the first time last night but subscribed on day one. It did not give me as weird of dreams as ZMA and I was less "drowsy" waking up (n=1)
The fact that you fell asleep in the taxi to go there, and STILL executed this gruelling routine, WITH perfect form, is insane. My admiration for you lads is through the roof.
@@calmexit6483 So for from what I understood watching his patreon videos and following for a long time Clarence pushes himself extremely hard in a very short amount of time. The body can take so much beating.
@@5zazenhe stated in a vid he did with Zack a couple days ago. I think he said its basically just to look good. Same reason he doesn't use wraps, sleeves, etc.
I have had the exact issue Clarence is complaining of (with the pain in the exact areas) many times. It happens to me when I try to catch a heavy weight in a very externally rotated bottomed out squat with a wider stance than normal. I try to be deliberate about catching weight in a narrower stance, with toes less flared out specifically to avoid this issue and it has helped. I've also done this with my squat. Problem is, when I try to go for a PR, thats when my body does what it feels like it needs to do in order to make the weight and unfortunately causes me to get injured.
Every time I see Clarence snatch or clean and jerk. I'm in awe! Such power in those hips. BTW.. where can you get the blocks they are lifting from? Would be perfect for my gym and won't take up a lot of space.
Could be a gluteal tendinopathy (glute medius, minimus) Trigger points in either of the above muscles referring pain into the outer leg as a result of over-use Hip impingement Also overuse in vastus lateralis, TFL (etc) could also present pain to the outer thigh. And of course, as you said, bursitis. Collab time with Aaron Horschig @SquatUniversity me thinks.
Had a similar sounding hip pain to Clarence and felt like it was “under” the muscle as opposed to muscular. After months and months of fucking around down RUclips rabbit holes, I was convinced it was something in the actual hip capsule. However, finally found a good physio who diagnosed it as a simple hip muscle imbalance. Spent 12 weeks addressing week abductors relative to adductors and though I was suspicious, it totally resolved the issue. Unfortunately I proceeded to slip while drunk and snap my Achilles 😂 But yeah, moral of the story - finding a proper decent physio is so worth it, just cut through all the red herrings.
Pretty much any 3-4x strength program can work, you'll just want to be a bit conservative with your starting weights and maybe avoid making huge jumps in training load.
@@tyhyhh Would this be faster way to gain strength than running 5/3/1 for squat twice a week? 1 top set vs 5 x 5 ? Huge difference in volume at heavy weights.
@@tomsettles6873 Depends also the speed you have on each rep as to how your nerves and muscles will respond. The amount of reps these guys are doing in this video not sure why its no wonder injuries are happening. Clarence's squats arent going up. Not sure why he hasnt changed to low bar with heavier weight maybe it would help the hips and his totals.
I have the same issue as Clarance. My hips are killing me during squats. I cant even sleep on my sides because of it. And the worst part is that the doctors here in Bulgaria don't want to take a good look at it and proceed to diagnose me with some BS statement like "you left leg is less developed, stop lifting" ):
Mate give high rep work a shot with an exercise like Bulgarian split squats no weight + lay off squats as much and pull more for a while and see how you feel
@@JinnDante so what is MRI typically used for? I would think T2 hyperintensity would be associated with soft tissue damage due to edema secondary to inflammation, for example. I thought the distinction between fat, bone, muscle for example would be significant due to different proton densities, and that variations in these signals could be used to identify tissue damage. Huh, guess you’re right
So many sets. Why not warm up with 245, then 335 then jump to 450x3, 585x3, 675x3, 765x3 low bar? The form is already known on these lifts. Or, just do 485x20x3? Pounds. Bill Gillespie(strength coach) used Squat til you drop for UW football '91. Bill benched over 1,000 a year ago. And Clarence. Low bar. Less sets. Heavier weight. Maybe 675 then 765 lbs for reps? Take it easy on the volume. And Wim Hof stuff post exercise.
If more volume always equalled more strength and muscle size, then Professional Bodybuilders, Powerlifters, and Weight lifters would train for 10 plus hours a day.

We've seen Clarence squat so many times that little tweaks in his technique are really noticeable. I hope his hips are okay for the long run
Did his technique cause the injury, or was it just a matter of training volume?
@@calmexit6483 So for from what I understood watching his patreon videos and following for a long time Clarence pushes himself extremely hard in a very short amount of time. The body can take so much beating.
not clear why Clarence isnt trying low bar and cut the atg out. Likely he could rep 700+ using low bar and spare the momentum on the joints.

So if you're 60 and don't want to squat 5-6 days a week, what kind of strength program should you follow?
2 days a week 5x5 with lots of warm ups or really whatever your knees can handle
@@tyhyhhId say thats still a lot of work for most people. One day of 5x5 with 2-5 reps in reserve and one day of a light 3x3 at 70% can work well.

@sikastrength what length of rest periods are you using between the sets of 5? I know you were shooting for 1min for sets of 10.
if i train weightlifting 5 time a week how many time i could add 5x5 + 3x10 as accesory exercises
Probably 6-7 depending on your recovery

5x5=25 times a week
you should not run this squat program and do weightlifting at the same time
