    Great interview. Can't wait to see more! He really put into perspective how much they have improved Chinese Weightlifting that they created their own system and have proven results. Now that system is being taught around the world. Incredible.

    Man, what a career he's had as an athlete and coach. He's one of the greatest coaches of my generation, easily. It was really cool how he shed light on previous training methods they focused on like the Soviet and Bulgarian systems. He seems so cool, really loved this interview. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR CONTENT!! 🤙🤙

    Kind of enlightening to hear that people trained harder back then but that doesn't necessarily translate to better gains. If anything it can detriment the strength gains. This helps reinforce my own motto of training smarter not harder.

    Why do you keep translating the clean pull as "deadlift"?
    Not just in this video but in otheres as well, when someone says "clean pull" you keep translating that into "deadlift" even though the 2 are different.

    • @14lamnc1
      @14lamnc1 2 года назад

      probably because there's still a lot of people that can't distinguish the difference between a "clean pull" and the "deadlift".

      Cuz in Chinese there are 2 ways to name it. "Clean pull" for "窄拉“,or "weightlifting deadlift" for "举重式硬拉” which consists of "clean pull"(窄拉) and "snatch pull"(宽拉).
      Generally speaking, "deadlift" includes "powerlifting deadlift" and "weightlifting deadlift".

    example as to why you shouldnt follow "types of training" blindly I.e. bulgarian/soviet/chinese style, he gave example that early Chinese weightlifting followed soviet training style and it wasnt applicable to to there "physical condition" meaning there physical structer/build so he couldnt transfer his strength over into the lifts, your technique and training style should be centered around your physical build.
