@@stacymathews1903 has a few possible ideas that you might try, if you haven't already. 1. Always learn a new stitch on bigger yarn. The goal is to JUST learn the stitch so you can frog it and start over until your ready to start the actual project. 2. Buy hooks with the biggest, fattest handles you can. I know they cost more but it does help keep strain to a lesser degree. 3. When you find a video you like, save it!! Why? Because if your brain decides it wants to go walkabout, just STOP. BE kind to yourself and take a tea break. Try it again later. I promise you'll get it.

This is actually my first time ever crocheting. I've tried it before but was too confused by the instructions and gave up. your tutorial is so crystal clear, I didn't even have to look for instructions on how to double and triple stitch!!! thank you so much I've already ordered some gorgeous cream yarn and will be making a throw for my bed. ❤❤

Love this stitch, very easy! I especially love your hack for creating a double crochet and closing the gap at the beginning of the rows (two birds with one stone lol). May use this stitch for a super chunky yarn throw blanket that I will be making.

I love your little beginning of not using a chain 3. I would call it a stacked single (US) a stacked treble (UK). Such a better way to start a row, thank you for teaching this to me.

I've jotted down the pattern for quick reference:
    prep rows:
row 1: double sts all across starting from the 3rd stitch from the hook
row 2: start new row with standing st, triple sts all across (change color on this row if needed)
    pattern:
row 1: chain one st, double sts all across
row 2: triple front post st, then triple st into the next double st (skipping the double st that's right above the front post we just worked into)
    row 3: repeat row 1
row 4: repeat row 2 but make sure to offset the stitches to that the pattern is staggered :) finish with two regular triple sts so that it's symmetrical
finish on a double st row so that it looks the same as the start!

Hey, trying this pattern out because I've never used an alpine stitch before and I wanted to do something nice for a baby blanket for my cousin, and I have a question. This may be stupid to ask, but I was wondering about how the pattern repeats after you ended the video because I wasn't completely sure on what you were saying.
(I'm American so I'll use the US terms for the stitches here) Were you saying that at the end of the video you just continue to do a row of single crochet, a row of post stiches, another row of single crochet, and then a row of the alternate post stitches all the way until you're done with the blanket? Or do you have to start the whole pattern from the beginning again? As in, row of single crochet, row of double crochet, row of single crochet, row of post stitches, single crochet, alternate post stitches?

I have just started crocheting and I ❤ it , but I get so confused because I have watched so many videos now I have no clue what or where to start , or what to even make. Iam doing my very best to make my mother a blanket, she has made blankets for all of her kids and grandkids , great grand babies and she has 21 grandkids if that says just how much she has been working since January an Singled she is almost done , I have learned the stitches now I just need some ideas for beginners remember that are EASY to follow , and people that actually talk me through this blanket for my mom. Out of all her kids, grandkids, other family and friends but NO ONE HAS EVER made her a blanket, so I’m determined to learn , I just don’t know what, or how to start , and I most DEFINITELY have no idea what to make please if u have ANY IDEAS for a blanket for a special person , that gives absolutely everything that she is to everybody else in our family, I REALLY want , need, and am obsessed with finding something for her alone that she would love.

    • @BlossomCrochet
      @BlossomCrochet  Год назад

If you have learned all of the basic stitches already then finding a blanket pattern can be a little daunting as there's so many to choose from. If it's your first big project then I'd still recommend going for a simple stitch repeat but that gives a nice finish with a little bit of texture?
      Maybe something like this: ruclips.net/video/e7ZVOQIs28M/видео.html
      Or even this: ruclips.net/video/1E-cjCvYrnI/видео.html
But whatever you choose to make for her in the end, she will be THRILLED with it, no matter what stitch you decide to use because she will know how much time and love went into it! 🌸
