Recent Royal wedding meals (like all official meals at any active British Royal palace) tend to be heavy on British produce, I believe this is due to the fact a lot of foreign dignitaries usually attend rwms and the Royals like to show off. Also, remember the Royal family have a large wine cellars. So the champagne served at the Queen and Prince Philip's (Rip Philip) reception was likely from said cellars

Just a few notes: Lyme bay is not on the coast of Cornwall but Dorset, close to the Devon border. It would be like saying Big Sur is in Washington state rather than California. Berkshire is pronounced “Barkshire”. The idea of wedding cakes being soaked with alcohol is to preserve it as a layer was often kept and used for the baptism of future children (as William and Kate did). Fruit cake shouldn’t be stodgy and if made well, isn’t. The fruit cake wasn’t only for royals, it used to be the usual form of wedding cake for everyone. People theses days don’t always chose fruit cakes for weddings which obviously means a layer cannot be kept for future christenings as the cake would go mouldy.

Phillip and Elizabeth could not have hosted 140 guests for breakfast in the Ball Supper Room of Buckingham Palace. That room would not accommodate that many people. Their wedding feast was in the Ballroom where most of the state dinners take place

Fruit cake is yummy, last year was the first year I didn't have a fruit cake my mom would get upset whenever she'd see the fruitcake catapulted in the air on food network shows that would air during the holidays. Growing up my Christmas morning breakfast plate would have a couple pieces of fruit cake with a glass of orange juice. Best breakfast ever. I watched the Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge's wedding over and over the weekend it came on, did the same when the Duke and Dutchess of Sussex got married.
I thought Prince Philip had given up his foreign titles before they married and that he'd been given the title Duke of Edinburgh (amongst other titles) before they were wed. Also, he didn't receive the title of Prince of the United Kingdom until about ten years after their marriage.
Lindsay, I love your videos. However, the late Queen Elizabeth II enjoyed fish and chips. The late Graham Newbold and Darren McGrady (former chefs for the British Royal family) as well as Ingrid Seward confirmed that Her late Majesty liked fish and chips. Darren McGrady made it on his RUclips channel and Graham Newbold made it on a program called "Secrets of the Queen's kitchen." He also recreated the wedding breakfast of Charles, Prince of Wales (now King Charles III) to Lady Diana Spencer. If anyone is interested, check out The Super sizers with Giles Coren and Sue Perkins. The 1980's episode has Sue meeting Ingrid Seward and enjoying that famous menu while talking about Diana, Princess of Wales.

Thank you 😊 Of course you can help, sweet Robin. That is, if you can bake 😉
I find the menus for the royal weddings very elegant and interesting. At my own wedding all that was served was spaghetti, lasagna, tossed salad, and white wedding cake for dessert. And of course we had sherbet punch to drink.
This was so so interesting! I am constantly rewatching them. Will there be more like this? I would love to know what the guests at Meghan and Harry's wedding ate!
nobody cares about trash harry and meghan both not exists
Hello Saran Cisse. How are you doing?
Who cares...seriously...he is a traitor...
7:05 You know it's a mighty big royal wedding cake when you use the family sword to cut it.
I think Sauce Windsdor is a different sauce than one think of, Mosimann was one of the first to promote Natural Cooking, no or little butter, cream ,lot of steaming, baking also . He speak about it in some Yt interviews. Juices from the lamb emhanced with light natural flavorful ingredients and so
Just found your channel and I'm literally obsessed with your videos
We need a Marie Antoinette and King Louis 16th wedding dinner video 👍☺️
Phillip and Elizabeth could not have hosted 140 guests for breakfast in the Ball Supper Room of Buckingham Palace. That room would not accommodate that many people. Their wedding feast was in the Ballroom where most of the state dinners take place
Can you imagine the horrors that chef must have experienced to be inspired to “cream” a fish?
Wow, royal wedding spectacular and good,
1:50 - Elizabeth was the elder daughter of George VI, and NOT the eldest!!
Elder or older refers to the firstborn of 2 girls or boys, and eldest/oldest refers to the firstborn of children of different sexes.
Fascinated by this type of thing!
Some people eat fruit cake with a piece of cheese, it's really tasty. It might be a Yorkshire thing.
Kate's desserts look sooooo goood!!!
anyone know if lindsay has a podcast? i could watch/listen to this stuff all day!
Hello Olivia. How are you doing?
That berries with clotted crème looks delicious!
Anyone who is isn't hungry from watching this video probably is not in possession of a stomach. 😂
I live for this topic!
I thought Prince Philip had given up his foreign titles before they married and that he'd been given the title Duke of Edinburgh (amongst other titles) before they were wed. Also, he didn't receive the title of Prince of the United Kingdom until about ten years after their marriage.
The desserts look delicious
Oh mine! Those sure look very fancy.🍷We did things very differently in Austria.
Selbstverständlich, Ihre Höheit
I literally had just finished cooking my dinner when I was notified for this video
Hello Lucy Preece. How are you doing?
That last scene of William and Kate dancing was a actually from a spoof video released around the time of their wedding.
Thanks, I thought that wasn't really them, the dress is not right, for one thing.
Every one eats fruit cake, especially at Christmas and in the winter months when you want comfort food.
Enjoyed seeing the menus but the mispronounciations had me rolling with laughter throughout 😂
