Thanks 4 the video man! I was about 2 throw my beloved Canon MX922 Pixma printer, it was severly cloged but after several try's it worked! I did a little different though, in the begining I did it like you but still wasn't working quite right so I boiled water and put it on a shallow container with just enough water to cover the heads and the nozzles and let it sit for a while, that time really worked because it bled the last hardened parts of the ink thanks to the hotter water (Note: I didn"t put the printer heads on a pot and boil it) I boiled the water and on a 2nd container I put a small amount of boiled water till it covered the printer nozzles because I was worried that the extra heat might damage the electronic conectors, after a carefull dry I put back the heads and test it again & this time worked like new! who would it thought that just plain hot water would do the trick! Thanks! you saved me allot of time & money!
I'm giving that one last shot. It's the thicker black cartridge which is causing the issue i think for me. i even bought a new cartridge and have done every cleaning option on on the printer
Thank you for posting this. I love my MX870, it has been a workhorse. I had the exact same problem you showed - the larger black cartridge clogged and could not be cleaned with the printer clean function. Never would have thought it could be so easy to clean, and without your video showing it, I would probably have felt it was done for. It's printing like new again, and you're the reason for it. Thank you!
Thank you for your very clear instructions to fix my printer. You saved me time & $$. Message B200 said to unplug & take it to a printer company to repair. Clearly this was NOT necessary. Just did my test after completing previous instructions shown here & test was as clear if NOT better than your display. In addition, my printer has made a grinding sound every time I turned it on. This has been happening for at least a yr. before the recent B200 message popped up. Now not only is the printing as clear as when I bought the machine at least 7 yrs. ago, the concerning grinding sound is also gone. Thank you once again for this very helpful, cost saving video.
Thank you so much Outie555. I never thought cleaning the nozzle heads would be so easy. On my Brother Ink Printer you have to order certain fluids/hoses, etc. A real pain. Your video was fantastic. I found that I had to let the hot water flush it for about 15 minutes to get it very clear with on ink residue still protruding. But I got it clean, air dried it, and replaced it into the Printer. It works fantastic, just like a new MX-870! I was about to sell it for a fraction of what I paid. Congrats to you from CR in Florida.
Thank you for this brilliant and helpful video. I tried everything to resolve my printing problem but to no avail. After watching your video, I was ready to do what you did but first thought I'd try using just the spray of compressed air and low & behold, it did the trick. My printer is printing perfect colour photo's again. I've had my MX870 Pixima for years, it's a great printer and you saved it's life. I am very grateful to you, as without your video, I would not have thought of using the air compressor. You are a star!!
WOW!! This totally worked for my Canon MX882. First time ever commenting on a video. This was worth commenting on. I just cleaned the head with regular cool tap water. Thank you!
You saved my mx870s life. I used your method as well as advice from another video that used alcohol. Mine didn't look too gummed up, but it was not printing. Great video. Thanks
Outie: you are a genius life saver. Just saw your video... saw the " wash it out with water part ", got scared, but what the heck tried it anyway, and after a thorough cleaning and air drying, and new ink, I did two deep cleanings... and unbelievable... just like a new printer. Was about to throw it away with plenty of ink in packages. You did the trick. What a guy. Best to you, and thanks... CR from Florida
Thanks for taking the time to do this. "Fixed" a ten-plus year old MX870 all in one just now. boatloads of q-tips, paper towels and rubber gloves later, printing like new. Used Grain alcohol (Everclear).
THANK YOU!!! I learned from you that my large black (PGBK) was blocked. I had misplaced the manual and forgot about the setup button on the front. Followed your directions and it worked perfectly. Saved me $$$ for a new print head!!! You're wonderful for doing this video!
Many thanks for your fantastic tutorial. I was ready to go out and buy a new printer and as a last resort saw your video. It was easy to follow and I would have never thought that you could wash a printer part. I am so grateful that you helped me out.
Worked perfectly! Was panicking as this happened when I of course needed to print something urgently... had run the clean and deep clean function several times without success. Followed your video and it's as if I have a brand new printer on my hands! Thank you
Terrific, worked for my MX870. Thought I might have to replace my MX870 which I have had for years. I to had run the deep cleaning function about 15 or more times. With little improvement. Your instructions where very easy to follow.
would never have guessed to run water through the nozzles considering it being a integral piease of electronic but it worked like a charm. You have my many thanks
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! While I followed your directions and it didn't work, I repeated several times and finally met with success! Thank you so much! I really appreciate you sharing your solution.
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaank you!!! I had already replaced all the ink, run all the cleaning functions and was still getting messy/blurred pages. Was getting ready to throw it through a wall and see what Amazon could deliver tonight...when I came across this video! Everything is all clean and pretty again!
I watched several print head cleaning videos before yours came up, and I was happy to see one for my exact model, MX870. Mine isn't quite as bad as yours was, but as in most of the videos, it's the pageblack nozzle that's befouled. Some videos were much more careful with the gold contacts surface and used special cleaning fluids. Some disassembled the head to clean the output fascia ports. Some were pretty clumsy with the job and it's a wonder the contacts worked very long thereafter. I think I get the gist of it, and it's up to me how thorough I'll want to be. Thanks for providing your version, and letting me know I don't need to buy a new printer, since the MX870 up til now has been my workhorse and a quality machine that's better in many respects than more recent models.Sorry that tis is all one paragraph... or some reason the editor won't let me break it down to be more readable!
This works on the Prixma 5422. I avoided the Ammonia and just ran boiling water through it and now my PGBK nozzle works great. Thanks for the help in Removing the Printer Head.
Hey, it worked! My printer is a canon MP630, and it didn't look as nasty as your printer, but PGBK was completely clogged, it was as if the printer head didn't exist. 2 heavy cleaning cycles didn't work, but the hot tapped water did just the trick. Thanks!!!
Thank you for this video. My printer has been sitting here collecting dust for awhile. I didn’t want to get rid of this great printer but couldn’t figure out how to clean the nozzle after many cleanings.
Thanks! Just did this for my father in-law's printer. We had the same issue where the black ink from a new generic cartridge wouldn't print out. I was ready to give up and buy a new printer for him until I saw this video and decided to give it a try. I was a little worried since that ink holder cartridge has what looks like chips attached to it. From my experience, electronic chips and water do not get along, but everything worked well and we were able to print perfectly black text!
Like several others below, I was ready to throw away my MX870. I would never have considered running water through the nozzles considering the electronics. I just followed your video instructions and the printer is working like new now! THANK YOU!
Thank you so much I should have found your video earlier before the error u052 popped up. I will do this in the morning as well with my Lexmark printer! I will reply back asap.😊
Thank you soooo much!!! The b200 code appeared on my Canon MX922 and I almost went out to purchase another printer but after viewing your very clear instructions on how to remove and clean the ink cartridge all is well 😊 thanks again.
Your video is simple & great. Next project - how to find and remove the ink absorber pads to clean them? I've found a couple tutorials but they don't agree with each other, and I can't even locate mine. Yes, it's an MX870. Do I have to remove the top part of the printer?? HELP!!
Yes, it did! Thank you so much! Now, my next problem is that the "ink tank, pad, overflow" (sorry, cannot remember right now what it's called) says it's full. I found a video on how to take another canon model apart and thought I'd give it a try with this one. Have you ever had that issue? BTW, I REALLY appreciate how you helped me. :) Have a great day!
+Mayers D thanks. I got the generic ones with chips (so it talks to the printer to know its a new cartridge for the levels). Just search on eBay for "mx870 ink". I got a few cartridges in a set which is the best way to go. Make sure you get all the colours and the blacks.
Hi... THANKS SO MUCH! Just wondering.... I did this, dried the printhead, put the printhead back in my MX860, put the ink cartridges back, put the top down, selected "maintenance" and then "print nozzle check pattern" and the printer started to do what it does. Then it went totally black, ie no power. I can't move the cartridge holder on my own anymore either. It's stuck over to the right and no power at all. Any thoughts about this?
that's too bad. maybe there was still water in the print head and it shorted out? unplug it and remove all the ink and head if you can get to it, and let it dry out for a day. sorry I don't know much more.
+outie555 I just went to try what you're suggesting. The carriage with the print head is all the way over to the right and I can't move it. I guess you can't move it when there's no power. grrr.....
One suggestion.... After you run the head under water and it runs clear, pour Isobropyl Alcohol (can get a bunch inexpensive at Costco) over it to remove any excess water, and allow the print head to dry on it's own. The alcohol will force all of the water away, and then will evaporate quickly. Will only take a few minutes. And if the train gets stuck after reinstalling the head (i.e., in the track, etc,) don't try to force it. Just turn it off and turn it back on again. Canon made these things to correct themselves. Except for the ink part :P Have had my MX870 since early 2009, and it still goes the distance. And I'm a hardcore IT consultant with a home office for the last 17 years. I beat it up pretty hard, and it's still as good as the day I got it. Think I paid $89 on a Costco special for this printer. Unbelievable. Do be careful about buying printer cartridges from any places that sell "refills". Those cartridges can mess up your stuff pretty fast. Pay the extra $15 and get the Canon pack from Costco, just to be safe.
Hi Hal. I've had my MX870 since 2011, but I'm sure I haven't used it nearly as much as you have, so I'm wondering/assuming that you must have had the error message that the "ink absorber pads are almost full" and need maintenance! I can't seem to find a good tutorial anywhere (I haven't tried calling Canon yet) . Can you help??
@@dennisjones9547 @Dennis Jones Hey Dennis, I actually have never received that message! Other than dude's tutorial, I don't really have any other suggestions. I will tell you, when my MX870 seemed like it was nearing the end of it's useful life, and I ran across this video, it was about a $80 cost savings; however, my resolution was not a "quick rinse" under hot water, as he demonstrated. Took me more like 20+ minutes turning, flipping and shaking until the entire head ran clear, due to all the gunk and build-up accumulated from using Cartridge World replacements. DON'T EVER USE CARTRIDGE WORLD REPLACEMENTS! You can find really good quality bulk replacement packs on eBay for less than what one cartridge costs at any store. One example is www.ebay.com/itm/20PK-PGI-220-CLI-221-Ink-Cartridges-for-Canon-PIXMA-MP980-MP990-MX860-MX870/391401323085 One your head runs clear, be sure to liberally use my isopropyl alcohol suggestion after a through rinse and let it evaporate, just to ensure all moisture has been voided, prior to reinserting the head. Oh, and be patient, take your time, and don't force anything. If everything is aligned properly, it will easily drop into place. My MX870 is still kicking ass, and I probably use it even more than I originally said, now that we have had to take on distance learning during this whole pandemic thing. Good luck!
I have had the b200 error message for 3 days. I washed the print head, but I cannot do a setup check because the set up button beeps 3X when I push it, the alarm and copy lights still alternate blinking, and the b200 error message is still on my display. The Canon website indicates the Pixma MX870 is retired, so they cannot help. Any suggestions for getting my printerto work again?
I have a method to bypass the b200 error in a video on my other channel. ruclips.net/video/qewVAX6QVIg/видео.html Titled "how to fix B200 error Canon MX870" Give that method a try.
@@outie555 have you used refillable cartridges ? Because i was using them and printer MX721 signaled a b200 error (about 2 years later, very light work).
+terry12316 not sure but myself and hundreds of others have done this and then dried it with no issues with water damage. Its up to you if you do it or not, but the electronics I can see look like a copper coloured wire ribbon and has a clear plastic coating on it
Thank you for the video I did not know I could do this. I was having the same issue. After trying this twice; my results did get better, but not fully I was going to give up, but I thought maybe its because they bought me staples ink instead of canon. Once I bought the Canon ink and did the print check I realized my printer only likes the original ink.
after rinsing in water for a 2nd time and using Alcohol. PBGK is not even printing. Did nozzle check and another cleaning. Nothing. So I have just ordered a new printer head. If that does not work. Ill pull my old MX 870 back out of storage and see. I have 2 MX 870
This made me realize the PGBK on my MP610 was not printing at all. I was just looking at the test pattern and I saw all colors so I did not miss it. I have attempted to clean it and I will find out shortly if it did the trick or not. Btw, I found it thrown out in the thrash :D
@@outie555 Well. No luck. I cleaned it and even used a can of air on it to make sure it could not be clogged. I suspect it is an electronic issue with it so I will use up all colors and discard it and get another one :)
It's still working. Sometimes has a b200 error but it can be bypassed and still prints fine. Good to hear you still have the Ducati, very lucky to win that one 😀
I'm Gary, not Marcia, but this is her Facebook logon, so I'm going to use it. We went to “Just Answer” help site and paid $20 for advice that didn't solve the problem. After a lot of steps, including powering off, unplugging, opening and closing the cover while the head/cartridge carriage was traversing, etc., nothing worked. The help site guy just said, "Sorry, but that's a motherboard problem and you'll need a new computer." I wasn't convinced and had cleaned my printer head before, so I thought I'd try it again before giving up. The print head was very clogged with ink and many contacts were shorting out due to ink bridging them. I cleaned the head just like this video suggested (plus I used an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner) and my printer now works just fine. I'll be cleaning my printer head more often from now on, as my MX870 is an excellent printer and has given us 7 years of steady service. Saved a lot of money today. Gary Drost.
Switch off, lift up the top and glass of the printer to see the ink (as if you were changing the ink cartridge) and slide the printer cartridge head unit to the middle of the rail. With the printer still open, stwitch power back on. When printer head moves, close printer.
Have just tried this; and popped the cartridges back in, but they're not lighting up. Undid again. What am I doing wrong? And when I close the door the B200 error is still coming up.
You may have not thoroughly dried it, or you somehow damaged the exposed gold contacts on the one side; you're not getting electrical pulses through to the head, so it's likely one or more of the delicate gold squares got scraped, dirty with ink or some other contaminant, or is still damp. Some people use a much more careful cleaning routine that soaks the output ports and/or uses tubing to inject water or a special cleaning mix through from the individual nozzle ports. This limits the exposure of the gold contact buttons to moisture, which the quick hose pressure technique some have used or tap-rinsing does not. That's not to say the hose flushing or tap-rinsing as shown here won't work, cuz clearly it can; but a lot depends on careful drying afterwards, with no rubbing or other mechanical or chemical impact on the sensitive gold buttons. Also I would use a microfiber cloth to carefully dry things with in addition to compressed air; anything else can leave tiny stray fibers on the head or around the gold contacts, and those can act as a contaminant. I'd also leave the thing to air dry for a day or two to make evaporate out residual moisture deep in inaccessible crevices or under/inside the exit port head.Sorry this editor won't allow me to break this up into multiple paragraphs for better readability.
I HAVE A mx870 printer as well. All of a sudden it is giving me the error message u052. I have done everything Cannon suggested. I took out the print head and reinstalled it. Unplugged printer and re-plugged and still the same error message.
Thanks, hoping when my print head dries out this will be a life saver for me. FYI was looking to replace my MX870 and see they are selling on line for around $800.00 USD?!?!?!?!? WHAT? That is CRAZY!!!!!
+albert kelton no one was getting that error code with the printer being blocked. Sounds like a separate problem. Tried googling that code and you may need to reset the printer by switching off and holding down black, cancel, OK and on button for ten seconds. Release only the on button after that. When printer turns on, release all buttons.
outie555 Yes I did that I also cleaned the area where the printer docks. I read that possibly a switch is being clogged up and that obstructs the printer from moving the head all the way to the right. Spent a couple hours on the problem at this point it's not worth the time. Probably going to junk it.
Sorry again - I can't figure how to get the editor here to break commentary up into multiple paragraphs; it just keeps presenting in one huge, hard-to-read one! Update: So I tried taping over the gold contacts and carefully rinsing from the inports through the outports until no ink came out, then air-drying the module over several hours. Much to my chagrin, the first few test prints weren't great. The black and blue strips were streaked and the pageblack (the big tank) didn't print at all. So I tried several onboard head cleaning/deep cleaning runs, and the same result. I went to bed... it was late. I figured maybe the tanks' heads had dried out during the long process (I didn't have the right orange caps), and they just needed to sit in the head overnight to bleed out the dryness. So this morning I run 1 regular cleaning and all the colors print clean except still no pageblack. Frustrated after multiple onboard cleaning and test runs, I popped out the tanks and printhead and headed for the faucet... to heck with taping up the contact plate and using up more of this new day being overly cautious. I figured this time I needed to try forcing water through the nozzles like some videos portray, and knock loose the dried blockages obviously inside the pageblack section. But holding it against a faucet just sprayed me and everything else, with not enough pressure through the device to get the "jets" of spray out the outports the other videos recommend. So I hunt up an old plain brass hose nozzle, you know, that's round, only a few inches long, has no trigger, and has like an eighth-inch diameter hole at the end. That I pressed up against each inport on the head, but it still made water go everywhere, especially as I cranked up the flow to try for more pressure. Then it dawned on me... I used tweezers and took the small rubber washer off from around the blue color's inport at the end, and turned it upside down on top of the pageblack inport next to it. This created more of a seal, and when I firmly pressed the small hose nozzle tip against it and cranked on the faucet, by golly there was still sidespray but I finally got water jetting out of the outport. I repeated that for each colors' inport until the jetspray in the outdoor tub I was using came out clear. I rinsed the whole unit and blow-dried it, then used Kemwipes to dab away residual water wherever I found it, and to gently wipe the gold contact plate and the brown flexiloom connected to it. I mean gently, because gold plate is thin and sensitive - do not rub with pressure. (Kemwipes are lint-free).I did all this in less than 15 minutes so the lingering ink tanks back next to the machine in the office didn't have too much time for their heads to dry out. I replaced the print head and tanks and ran one cleaning run, then held my breath for the test print. Eureka! All test strips were perfect, including pageblack. So thanks again outie555, for the tutorial. Though yours wasn't quite enough to resolve my clogged print head, together with other videos here it got me on the right road to saving my venerable favorite printer. Hopefully others who make it here will benefit from reading this.
you are more than welcome buddy. as i said previously, i am glad i helped, and i hope your comment helps someone having the same issue with the water flushing out the jets.

+spacedrivefilms His instructions worked for me in fixing the B200 error... Plus I combined it with someone else's feedback on Amazon regarding the error. I started with #6 AFTER I washed and dried and the printer head. After MONTHS my printer is finally working again. ook me a few hours to figure out a solution based on a number of sources on the interwebs. I have an MX712. Problem is probably a clogged print head. I had been putting off replacing the ink cartridges which apparently is a mortal sin in Canon's eyes. 1. Open printer. 2. Remove old ink cartridges. 3. Remove the print head but lifting up on the spring loaded gray thing. Don't worry, it won't break. 4. Print head pulls out. 5. Clean the print head wells. I used witch hazel and Q tips but I think isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) would do the trick too. Clean and dry, clean and dry until most of the wells look free of ink. No need to soak or wait overnight. Get them relatively clean. 6. Put printer head back in and put in fresh ink cartridges. 7. Turn off printer (make sure it's plugged in). 8. Open printer and force the ink carriage by hand all the way to the left. 9. Push the on button 5 times rapidly. 10. Close printer. 11. The startup menu should come up on the printer. 12. Go to menu options and do a deep clean. 13. Printer should be back to normal. I will say when I tried the step #12, the deep cleaning, I got the error again. Then I turned it off and turned it back on. I let the cartridge container go almost all the way to the left and then I put down the cover. After that, I just did the Printer Alignment check like he suggest in the video and it WORKED!
Thanks! Your video helped a lot to see how to properly handle, wash and clean the print head unit. Worked like a charm! Thanks for saving me repair and replacement cost. Thanks for providing your version, and letting me know I don't need to buy a new printer, since the MX870 up til now has been my workhorse and a quality machine that's better in many respects than more recent models.Sorry that tis is all one paragraph... or some reason the editor won't let me break it down to be more readable!
Glad I helped buddy :)
This works on the Prixma 5422. I avoided the Ammonia and just ran boiling water through it and now my PGBK nozzle works great. Thanks for the help in Removing the Printer Head.
Nice one
@@outie555 surprisingly enough you have been the only practical support I have found even though it's for a different model.
Thank you so very much. Followed your instructions and now my MX870 is printing again. It was printing 2/3's of the photo then stopping. Thumbs up!
+Infrequent Inspiration fantastic
Hey, it worked! My printer is a canon MP630, and it didn't look as nasty as your printer, but PGBK was completely clogged, it was as if the printer head didn't exist. 2 heavy cleaning cycles didn't work, but the hot tapped water did just the trick. Thanks!!!
you are welcome buddy. glad to have helped
+Eugene Yu great stuff Eugene and I'm glad my video helped you :)
Thanks so much for your video. It saved me from throwing out a perfectly good printer.
+Paul Lanagan your welcome mate
Like several others below, I was ready to throw away my MX870. I would never have considered running water through the nozzles considering the electronics. I just followed your video instructions and the printer is working like new now! THANK YOU!
That's great news Tom. My printer is still going strong after all these years!
Thank you so much
This worked on my MX860
You saved me $300.00
+Brian Kelner you're welcome buddy.
That's terrific news and a saving to the environment too.
What a wonderful and generous way of sharing your knowledge with public. Thank you this was really helpful.
+Masoomeh Wake you are welcome buddy
Thanks for this great video. Worked like a charm. I still have my Canon MX870.
Hey man your video helped me save from buying a new printer! Thank you so much!
great stuff buddy :D mines still going strong too
This worked well on a MX437. Straight lines and clear print. Thank you much!
that is great news and glad it helped fix your problem buddy :)
Your video is simple & great. Next project - how to find and remove the ink absorber pads to clean them? I've found a couple tutorials but they don't agree with each other, and I can't even locate mine. Yes, it's an MX870. Do I have to remove the top part of the printer?? HELP!!
Thanks for this. I really thought that I was going to need to buy a new printer because - just like yours - none of that top black block would print.
Good to hear Scott! 😊
Hey man - great explanation and the printer works perfect now - thanks from Germany - Tom !
you are welcome buddy. glad I could help
Thanks for your video! What type of toners did you order from eBay?
+Mayers D thanks. I got the generic ones with chips (so it talks to the printer to know its a new cartridge for the levels). Just search on eBay for "mx870 ink". I got a few cartridges in a set which is the best way to go. Make sure you get all the colours and the blacks.
Thanks! works great for me. I thought I was going to have to buy a new print head.
Have you had to clean or replace the ink absorber?
Not so far
+outie555 Thanks you for replying! I will try that :)
Thanks for the awesome tip buddy. They are great printers and I've had mine for over ten years and it's still good quality printing
One example is www.ebay.com/itm/20PK-PGI-220-CLI-221-Ink-Cartridges-for-Canon-PIXMA-MP980-MP990-MX860-MX870/391401323085
One your head runs clear, be sure to liberally use my isopropyl alcohol suggestion after a through rinse and let it evaporate, just to ensure all moisture has been voided, prior to reinserting the head.
I have a method to bypass the b200 error in a video on my other channel. ruclips.net/video/qewVAX6QVIg/видео.html
Titled "how to fix B200 error Canon MX870"
Give that method a try.
Hi outie55, are you using refillable cartridges or original ones ?
I'm using generic branded ones. Cheap on eBay for multiple colour sets and they work terrific and just as good as the expense canon brand ones
@@outie555 have you used refillable cartridges ? Because i was using them and printer MX721 signaled a b200 error (about 2 years later, very light work).
Cheers mate, just sorted my printer with this vid
Flipping fantastic!
Thanks for an excellent solution to my MX870 problem. Had a blocked Cyan jet but OK now.
fantastic news John and happy printing :D
Cleaning a print head on a pixma canon mp620 warns not to wet the electronic contacts. Is this model's print head protected
+terry12316 not sure but myself and hundreds of others have done this and then dried it with no issues with water damage. Its up to you if you do it or not, but the electronics I can see look like a copper coloured wire ribbon and has a clear plastic coating on it
heb uw video uitgevoerd maar de foutmelding blijft staan en ik kan niet in het onderhoudsmenu gaan
wat moet ik doen om in het menu te kunnen
Thank you for the video I did not know I could do this. I was having the same issue. After trying this twice; my results did get better, but not fully I was going to give up, but I thought maybe its because they bought me staples ink instead of canon. Once I bought the Canon ink and did the print check I realized my printer only likes the original ink.
Maybe the cheaper ink had a bad batch? I've been using eBay cheap ones for years with no issues.
@@outie555 I will give ebay a try
Worked like a charm! Thanks a million!
+Nathan Palmer no problem. Thanks for commenting :)
after rinsing in water for a 2nd time and using Alcohol. PBGK is not even printing. Did nozzle check and another cleaning. Nothing. So I have just ordered a new printer head. If that does not work. Ill pull my old MX 870 back out of storage and see. I have 2 MX 870
Is that floppy from teo?
This made me realize the PGBK on my MP610 was not printing at all. I was just looking at the test pattern and I saw all colors so I did not miss it. I have attempted to clean it and I will find out shortly if it did the trick or not. Btw, I found it thrown out in the thrash :D
The best place to find things! Hopefully it's just clogged and you can fix it
@@outie555 Well. No luck. I cleaned it and even used a can of air on it to make sure it could not be clogged. I suspect it is an electronic issue with it so I will use up all colors and discard it and get another one :)
Ditto to what Paul said! Thank you very much. I'll give it a try now.
hope it works for you too Brenda
Is it still working outie or how long did the fix last and I still have my Ducati 😁
It's still working. Sometimes has a b200 error but it can be bypassed and still prints fine.
Good to hear you still have the Ducati, very lucky to win that one 😀
@@outie555 When you said hot water was it hot hot or mixed with a bit of cold? Yes very lucky to win a bike!
As hot as you can stand as you'll need to hold it under the tap.
@@outie555 Thanks man.
The help site guy just said, "Sorry, but that's a motherboard problem and you'll need a new computer."
I wasn't convinced and had cleaned my printer head before, so I thought I'd try it again before giving up. Gary Drost.
Gary that is brilliant news your printer is back up and running and glad that this video helped you out.
I cleaned out my MX870 heads as suggested and the error B200 still comes up. What else can I do?
Switch off, lift up the top and glass of the printer to see the ink (as if you were changing the ink cartridge) and slide the printer cartridge head unit to the middle of the rail. With the printer still open, stwitch power back on. When printer head moves, close printer.
Thank you! Worked like a charm!
You're welcome!
Thank you for the video. PBGK is still not working
Thankyou! was giving up hope of getting it printing.
Fixed my problem. Simply awesome, thanks!

Ho about the MX 860, it says an error has occur unplug power and call for technical support. can I do the same too? thanks
+geronimo pasquale not sure how to fix that error or what the error is. Maybe have a search on google or some forums for a solution?
may i know wat spray is that using?
it is a can of compressed air. just using it to blow air on it and help it dry quicker
Thx for the vid man, it helped me out quite a bit.
+Mateen Khaja Glad i could help buddy! :)

That is crazy! How did it go?
Thanks so much for the instructions!

My Canon MX340 keeps reading there's a paper jam and there's no paper on it. Please help
No idea, sorry. Maybe look into the sensors and how they work
I thank you for responding. How do I check the sensors
Tried to wash several times still not working get the 6a80 error please advise.
+albert kelton yeah sounds like a technical problem which is a shame as they are good printers
Thank you...it works perfect now. 😊
brilliant, thanks for your comment and happy to have been able to help out.
Thank you!! Works great.
Best of luck with your print jobs
by the way. nice video and great expalnation on MX870

Hopefully others who make it here will benefit from reading this.
you are more than welcome buddy. as i said previously, i am glad i helped, and i hope your comment helps someone having the same issue with the water flushing out the jets.

wish you knew how to fix the errorB200
+spacedrivefilms sorry man, never come across that error

Others make the point that you should not get water on the electronic contacts. Presumably that's not correct.
2019 I still have this printer..it's been great except With phone assistance they could not get my wifi to work. Never had wireless printing. What a DRAG.
That's a shame. I've still got mine and had no problems with wifi, but it only can connect to 2.4ghz wifi. Could that be the issue if you are using wifi that's only 5ghz and not both?
