Nobody has a bad thing to say about the ES350. I have a 2007 and it's a great, great car. When it debuted it was the fastest front-wheel drive luxury sedan on the market. It's got 272 hp and goes 0-60 in only 6.8 seconds. The car floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee.
@@ResplendentRaider Well my car has 105k miles on it and when I got it it had 70k. Only thing I had to replace was the catalytic converter because it was making noise, which cost me $1200. But that's a pretty common repair for any car over 100,000 miles. Plus I didn't really need to repair it because a broken cat won't harm the car, but it's bad for the environment and I got sick of listening to the noise. Other than that I've had no issues.
"Nobody has a bad thing to say about the ES350"??? I beg to differ. And you have the '07? That's the one that has the MOST issues. Lagging transmission, stuck accelerator, etc are well known online and Toyota is well aware of these issues and have issued recalls, service bulletins, and replaced transmissions. Maybe you got lucky or maybe the problems are not as big as it sounds online but it DOES sound like there is a problem with the lagging transmissions, etc.
Wow! Has it been 3 months already. Here for a follow up. I actually go my 2011 ES350 April 22nd. And have been thoroughly enjoying the experience of owning a Lexus. I picked it up for a bit over 10K. I take it out for cruises late at night, or early morning, depending on how you look at it, but there's less traffic and you can enjoy the drive. Just you and your car, and nothing else matters. Thank you again for this video. In fact, I'm gonna go for a drive, thanks to your video.
My grandfather had this car before he passed, now my grandma owns it and I hope to be able to buy it from her for my first car. Ima have the nicest car in all of Greensboro!
Peace. Was recently blessed 2 have purchased a 2012 with 32,000 M's on it and with zero exaggeration, my man is not lying about anything! Glides on the road...
Love the dash interior layout of this car. I drive a 95 gs300 and if I ever get rid of it ...this would be the next car for me as I agree the Ls seems to be more money to maintain
I just purchased a 2010 model black on black and yall aint lying about this ride. Drives and handles great . If your are looking to find one i recommend it.
ive had mine for 3 years and love it. So comfortable and relaxing to drive. Upgraded the radio with a tesla style touch screen with rear camera. Plan on owning for a long time
I just bought a 2010 a couple of weeks ago. I was actually considering an LS460 to be honest. But something about the LS just never really "connected" with me. I never got that "THIS IS IT" feeling during my car search and test drives. I kinda stumbled upon my 2010 Es350 while looking at a different ES (it was a 2007 ES). Anyway, as soon as the dealer showed me the 2010, I immediately said BINGO, this is it!!! Something about this car resonated with me more than the LS did. Basically everything he said in this video is pretty much spot on. What I love the most about this car besides how smooth and quiet the ride is, is it's simplicity. I like that I have nothing more than I need and nothing less than I need. I don't have to push 55 buttons to access advance menus just to change a setting in the car. Know what I mean?? All told, anybody in the market for one won't regret their purchase (so long as they get a good quality car of course). The more I drive mine, the more I love it. It just grows on you. 😊💯💯👌🏾
Thanks for your opinion on the ES350 as I'm in the first stages of buying this 5th generation. Question please.....I keep reading about a transmission "lag" when coming to a stop (almost), then accelerating again. Does yours do this? I once rented a Camry that did this and I HATED it. I REALLY need to know if this is a common problem with the ES350. Any insight? Thanks
@@usaman7358 I've never experienced any issues related to a "tranmission lag". Perhaps its something that is more affected but a driver's braking and accelerating style? I tend to drive very easy and break very light in mine. The only thing I've noticed if anything is that the brakes are a wee-bit spongy. However I replaced my pads with some higher end brake pads and don't notice the sponginess as much. Maybe I've gotten used to it. In any case, braking and accelerating power is there for me when I need them. Hope this helps.
@@dpmusic21 Thanks so much. Makes me feel better about this. Obviously I will drive whatever I buy beforehand but with so many complaints about the v-6 toyota transmissions doing this, AND experiencing it myself in a v6 rental Camry, it has me quite concerned. The more I research the ES350, the more confused I get. It gets GREAT reviews all over but then it also gets MANY unhappy with the transmission jerk, hesitation/slip situation. I just can't understand how people can be SOOOOO happy with this car if it has this transmission issue. Thanks again
I bought a 2011 Lexus ES350 in 2019, I upgraded from a Nissan Altima and let me tell you the Lexus is in another league in terms of build quality, fit and finish and just overall the Lexus feels like a better built vehicle. I couldn't be happier with it

I have a 2012 Acura TSX as well, if I had to do it again I would have purchased the Lexus ES. I was younger so the Acura was more fun, but as I get older the Lexus would have been a better choice. I see tons of these cars still being driven here in California. Still looks great over the years.
Haha yea Peter I understand, I def loved my TSX very fun to drive car, ideally my favorite Acura would have been an 04-08 TL with a manual as it was more comfortable than the TSX. But yea the ES is legendary and a very enjoyable car with that V6 engine. Thanks so much for stopping by my friend
My grandma has a 2012 ES350 that she bought new in 2012 which replaced a 1992 SC300 that she drove for twenty years with no major problems. Ten years later & her ES has been problem free so far as expected & is easily one of the smoothest cars I've ever driven. Always loved Lexus as I first had a 2017 IS200t F-Sport for a little under two years & currently a 2016 GS350 F-Sport that I bought two years ago with 41k miles, now with 58k miles which has been an absolutely amazing car & may keep it forever.
@@mr.miyagi3419 No she traded it in when she bought her ES. It was in fantastic shape & was always garaged. My friend has a black 1992 SC400 that looks identical to hers.
Just picked up a fully loaded ‘07 in white from an old couple for relatively cheap considering the current market. Gonna’ change the fluids, brakes and throw some snow tires on it when the time comes. Can’t think of a more comfortable daily for $5k. It’s got 199k on it now and I’m fairly confident I’ll keep it till the 300k mark.

My Dad has a 2011 Camry. I have a 2007 Lexus ES 350. I compared the seams on the two cars and it turns out mine has tighter specifications, by like 1/8". Nice to know I got what I paid for.

A true underdog. I actually think this best generation of the ES yet. How come Lexus from 10 years ago have touchscreens and the new one don't? The fact how that interior looks like after 10 years sold me car even harder.
Yea this generation of ES is great! Very reliable for sure, haha I don’t mind the new infotainment primarily because...well I don’t use infotainment in cars I just drive cars 😂
In 2005, Lexus completed an organizational separation from parent company Toyota, with dedicated design, engineering, training, and manufacturing centers working exclusively for the division. SO 2006 TO Like 20010 or so was like VERY good years for lexus. They poored lots and lots of money into quality...
I have an '11 and the only thing about it I actually HATE is the truly horrible nav with the integrated touch screen for hvac controls. First of all, the nav is horribly nonintuitive and hard to set up, then it easily gets lost, etc. I never use it any more - my phone is much better. changing the fan speed is a several step process. Other than that, it is dead reliable, smooth, comfortable and long lived. I just turned 100k and plan to put another 100 or more on it.
This s from a dealer. Never buy a used car from a dealer. They buy far under wholesale from auctions and they don't know the entire history. They are gambling along with you, but they are the house and nobody has better odds than the house.
Hey thanks so much, I appreciate you watching like always. Yea I just had to compare it to the LS because I feel like many like to cross shop these due to how much cheaper the ES is
@@MeynMotorGroup Can I also add that you also compared with the Camry, which is the biggest question for potential midsize customer sedan. Your review is simply 5/7!
I just bought one like this today... same color and interior except its 2011 has the timing chain... I paid 11,700 and its super clean and perfect interior! I just sold my Hybrid 2020 Avalon, just grew tired of the Hybrid feel and lack of quality craftsmanship, I also owned a second generation Avalon and it was super comfy!! and rode better. New Avalon has lot of plastic.... Back to the Lexus, my first one and drove it 150 miles home at 80 mph and kicks up to a 100 really easy when passing! Solid made in Japan vehicle.... I hope to get 350+ K --- truly comfortable and a pleasure to drive.... heavy duty steel panels... they don't make em like this anymore!!
Curious what makes people think “ah man I really like that Lincoln?” (Kidding) though, I refuse to buy anything other than Toyota/lexus or Honda/Acura. Idc if I’m paying a premium, I want my car to past so I can get the most for my money.
It’s rare to see these with Navigation or the Panoramic Roof. I’m in the market for one Fully Loaded tho! I have a Homie with one with Coilovers and it glides on the road and handles great actually
4 years of driving my Chevy Impala as my first car, wasn’t terrible but dang, this car having more ops and such. I think these look better. I’m 3 months away from paying mine off but saving for a first house now. Maybe in a few years I’ll buy this
I have a 2007 model. it is basically very reliable has a lot of comment parts with the Avalon and Camry and there is a lot of workshops that expieriansed in Toyota/Lexus here in KSA 13 years= zero problems sorry for my poor English it is not my native language
I've had a 08 es350 for a year now and the complaints I have about it are that the headlights are basically uselessly dim at night and literally don't work in rain. I can't see the hood while driving and making right turns is always sketchy cuz I can't see. Other than that it's great
Exhaust Sports Auto what about timing belts and such most people say oh they didn’t need that done but selling for 5k under but seems to be dealers or second hand sales
How do dashboards crack. I've had ford, hondas, mazdas, Toyota's and Lexus and I've never had a dash crack. Is it from people putting their nasty feet up on it? I've always wondered how that happens.
the 2007 model had problems engineered right in from the factory. first, the plastic dash would get sticky if you lived in a hot climate. there was a recall for this if you were lucky enough to catch it. they replaced the entire front dash section behind the windshield. second, there was a problem with an oil leak at the rear of the engine. when the robot was laying down sealant to put a pan onto the engine, it did not apply the sealant correctly. then, around 60 thousand miles you got an oil leak at the rear of the engine. to fix the leak you must pull the engine out of the car. you are talking thosands of dollars. there was a recall for this also if you were lucky enough to catch it. on my car, the three front fuel injectors failed. now the driver side rear shock has leaked oil. all this with a car with 70 thousand miles on it. it is a nice driving and fast car. but the defects in the 2007 model year are to be avoided.
@Mizgen Mangory my cars been acting up recently and I’ve been looking into a lot of the older ES models looking at a 2010 right now. I’ve heard nothing but good about these cars so I’m just doing my research now but that’s good to know that the 07 model isn’t off the table

Do you have to use premium gas for your vehicle? I'm also interested in a used ES350 but I heard you should only use premium gas in a Lexus?
@@vincentfung5150
Yeah. Even though from 2009 on, the ES was able to use 87 octane, I still use 93.
How many miles did the car have when purchased?
He put into words what I feel when I put the rear sun shade up, "It's a peasant blocker" 😂😂
Wow massive congrats my friend great ride for sure
What price point would you pay for 150k to 170k miles
@@jfros9794 6 thousand
ive had mine for 3 years and love it. So comfortable and relaxing to drive. Upgraded the radio with a tesla style touch screen with rear camera. Plan on owning for a long time
I love my 07’ ES! Comfortable, reliable, packs quite some power that’s enough for me for my driving! I recommend!
I really can't wait to own this car in the coming months.

Yeah, I had a 2004 TL before my current 2010 ES. TL was more fun but much less reliable than the Lexus. Zero problems with the Lexus.

Hey thanks so much my friend words can’t express how grateful I am towards each and everyone of you.
Does your grandma still have the sc300

How is it now?
Do you still have the car?
Just picked up a fully loaded ‘07 in white from an old couple for relatively cheap considering the current market. Gonna’ change the fluids, brakes and throw some snow tires on it when the time comes. Can’t think of a more comfortable daily for $5k. It’s got 199k on it now and I’m fairly confident I’ll keep it till the 300k mark.

Curious what makes people think “ah man I really like that Lincoln?” (Kidding) though, I refuse to buy anything other than Toyota/lexus or Honda/Acura. Idc if I’m paying a premium, I want my car to past so I can get the most for my money.
@slow mazda they cost more because they regularly go above 200k miles without major issues.
Toyota V6 engines upgraded to timing chains beginning in 2007. Just one less thing to worry about.
It’s rare to see these with Navigation or the Panoramic Roof. I’m in the market for one Fully Loaded tho! I have a Homie with one with Coilovers and it glides on the road and handles great actually

13k for 2012 Lexus ES 350 with 94k miles good deal?
the 2007 model had problems engineered right in from the factory. first, the plastic dash would get sticky if you lived in a hot climate. there was a recall for this if you were lucky enough to catch it. they replaced the entire front dash section behind the windshield. second, there was a problem with an oil leak at the rear of the engine. when the robot was laying down sealant to put a pan onto the engine, it did not apply the sealant correctly. then, around 60 thousand miles you got an oil leak at the rear of the engine. to fix the leak you must pull the engine out of the car. you are talking thosands of dollars. there was a recall for this also if you were lucky enough to catch it. on my car, the three front fuel injectors failed. now the driver side rear shock has leaked oil. all this with a car with 70 thousand miles on it. it is a nice driving and fast car. but the defects in the 2007 model year are to be avoided.
So… just avoid the 2007 year version of the ES is what you’re saying ?
