9/10 times when looking for obscure 19th century music I end up on your channel. You sir, are a treasure to the classical music scene on RUclips.
Regarding this work itself, obviously not a mature composition of a late 19th century mastermind but a youth work, sounding even more like Haydn than Beethoven more often than not, but still a beautiful piece of music, and only a glimpse of what were to come a few years later with his first and only 'real' symphony.

Dude died at not quite 26 years old. Poor guy. Thanks for the music though, we have something to remember him for

Though the development section seems to me a bit of a mess, this work is great fun. Almost Mendelssohnian. The recapitulation is favourite, though.

Mozart called. He wants the theme from his sonata in e minor for violin back.

Kuhlau piano sonatinas. Also Lemoine piano studies. This "Symphony" seems to be an inside joke. Humor in music was a rarity in those days.

1875? Mendelssohn wrote this type of piece when was 12 in 1821 but nonetheless a very pleasant piece

And? Its 2021 and we could still write pieces in this style. 😊😇🥰

@@bornaerceg9984 haha sure sure, but as taste of listeners moves with the period they are often not really interested in 'old' styles. just as Bach was very quickly regarded as old fashioned

@@ghuinink from that perspective - true. But today we listen to so much music, from different periods and different styles.
