Well keep in mind, the lower register of the cello is a bit unclear and in my opinion it’s like salt. It’s good in little amounts but ruins a whole dish when there’s too much. I think the way it’s written is perfect regarding the perfect amount of bass as it compliments the soft melody along with the cello part. But great observation nonetheless!

I've doubled the Cello part down an Octave w/ a 5ths Tuned 5 String Upright Bass & I transposed a couple of notes down an Octave to get some lower end
