Thank you so much! I'm trying to fix mine right now without putting it in the shop only thing is getting the belt off and putting it back on... I'm not really a mechanic or anything but hopefully I can get it.. appreciate the video!
Thank you for filming this. I have to do the same job soon. I'm having hesitation at 60 to 70 mph, and loss of power from low throttle to full throttle at times. Although it's probably the tps, at 20 some years old, I'm sure both the Crank and cam sensors are ticking time bombs, waiting to strand me somewhere, lol. I also have an intermittent check engine code pop up, and dissappear, with a stored code of the cam sensor..so there's that...
I replaced my Camshaft position sensor, because my diagnostic, said to. However when I turn my key on everything is normal dash lights headlights stereo other than that I mean like but my engine won't turn over or start or nothing it's driving me crazy.
They make great little Bluetooth scanners (code readers) now that would help you a great deal in situations like this. At least give you a direction of the problem. Good video.
why did you change the crank sensor ? I’m having the same issue but with an 03 I’m assuming it’s the camshaft position sensor because everything else checks out OK. But the back of my mind I’m worried it’s the crank and not the cam
So random question on the chevy 2002 malibu, how many things did you change, mine stopped all of a sudden, and we've changed out camshaft and crankshaft sensor, ignition switch, spark plugs, alternator, and a new battery, the fuel pump is fine we hear it everytime we turn key over.
I have an 01 Malibu. I just bought this part yesterday so I'm hoping this will fix my issue, it seems to be the same problem as you said, it just wouldn't turn over. My only concern is I just bought my part at AZ for like 36, so how in the world you paid almost half is beyond me.
Zombie23Maniac hope it does it for you! This issue hasn’t returned since so it was definitely the problem. You’re right, I don’t know why I said 13.99 at the beginning of the video, at the end I actually said the correct price of 33.99 plus taxes lol.
I’m having the same issue but if it’s set for a while it’ll start and run great, but if I let it set idle and heat up then it won’t turn on again it’ll just crank

Oh one more thing it's my engine light coming on and that's what came up was the CMP sensor any suggestions? What about the gas cap?

Did you have the recall work done on it?
No doubt!! I'm at my sensors but same problem. Ugh
What recall
Check the starter ground wire
Jenelle Mccray this sensor was actually the problem, after sooooo many years. This was actually the problem lol.

Does anybody know if and where an 05 malibu with a 2.2 ecotec has a cam position sensor? Keep getting the code. Replaced crank sensor twice already
All you had to do is say. It’s under the power steering pump 😂
Take off the motor mount and power steering pump. So many videos over explain.
free info and your complaining smh
