One manager REQUIRED his presence whenever a discount was applied at checkout and banned us from doing it ourselves, changing the computer to demand manager credentials before applying a discount. One of the other managers would write down his manager codes for us every morning on an order pad just so he could lock himself in the office and avoid coming to the register, literally giving us the power to operate the register with Manager clearance
