I’ve had managers who skipped the whole process and went straight to management as well. When new Walmart’s open up, they put them through “manager training” for a certain period of time and boom, you’re in.
They really fucking do.. like god damn it. Aren’t you there to help. And not bitch and complain or maybe I got it reversed.. cause that’s what they do.. bitch and complain and not help.. much like my fucking wife…
At my job we work 14 days of 12 hr shifts then are off for 7 days. One time we were short handed for a period due to someone quitting. My manager actually had the audacity to say: no one ever wants to work the weekend that they have off. It’s like yeah Ted, we are stuck here 2 weekends in a row and would like to spend time with family/friends on the ONE weekend we have off. He was pissed because he had to work a weekend sometimes. I might add the managers schedule is mom-fri all weekends and holidays off. Smh.
It's not too unrealistic, depending on how long they've been managers for. They should probably know how to run a register and stuff, but honestly if the store is fully staffed, it's probably been a while since they've done it. And honestly when I worked at a grocery store we never had enough cashiers haha. The manager would be on a register at least once a week to cover lunches and stuff.
On the next episode of "Good Times at Walmart," Jennifer gets pregnant and asks for Maternity leave. How will Jeff respond? Find out next Wednesday at 9pm.
When I used to work at Kroger. I’m always called out to push carts when it’s busy. My Manager literally pushes in like 1 to 3 carts in and then he go straight to the office and never be seen again 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah I used to feel that. Now I work salary and I am responsible for all of the IT Administration in the company so I have to update servers an shit during the weekend. It's usually not a big deal, sometimes they fuck up and I have to go in and check it out but not often. Definitely worth the money but fuck working on an off day for these low wage jobs.
I once had a Walmart manager call me like a year after I quit and ask me if I could come in and cover for someone who called out. I told them I didn't work there anymore. They offered to rehire me on the spot if I'd come in and cashier.
I had a job do that too. I was gone for 3 years. I said I have a full time job can only work Saturday afternoons and Sundays. I left after three days. They had a mandatory meeting 45 minutes away after I worked 7 hours, and it wouldn’t be done until 11p. I had to be at work at my full time job at 8. I know if this was required at my full time job, it wouldn’t be a big deal. I wouldn’t be upset. It was annoying that a job that begged me to come back would do it. I wanted an easy job work 16 hours a week and be home by 6p. They had all these extra requirements and hoops to jump through. Then a manager left me a nasty text. I should my supervisors at my regular job. I told them, I’d put up with it here because I make $3 more an hour and get full benefits. They even said they would never talk to me like that.
Last vid, Jeff laughed off the audacity of someone asking him to hop on a register. Now he’s forced to since no one else will do it for him. Is this character development I smell? 😂
I was surprised how easy Jeff went on mike when he called out! Once I had to call out because we had a major snow storm, and there was literally 2 feet of snow on the ground. My street had not been plowed. Yet my manager was like “oh alright, so you’ll be in but just a little late?” Like no! I’m not gonna be going anywhere for the next 3 days at least😂😭
Anytime I got a call from walmart, I never answered lol. That's basically rule number 1 of working there. Never, and I mean NEVER, answer a call from Walmart outside of your work shift. As Admiral Akbar says, "IT'S A TRAP!". When they're calling you, it's because they want you to do them a favor. But when the time comes for them to return the favor, how dare you ask that of us?! If you need to be off or leave early you have to use your PTO. No exceptions.
I wasn't manager for long at the theater. This is why I kept hopping on the registers and helping out. I needed to retain everything I have learned so I don't go around looking clueless.
NEVER answer a call from work. Especially if you're off or if it's way earlier than when you're supposed to come in. I loved being PRN at the hospital, we could pick up when it worked for us and they absolutely could NOT make us come in or write us up or any of that. So when they started that calling, you could answer and say "No!" and they couldn't do Anything about it. You could just hear the anger and them wanting to say something about writing us up or some other threat but they knew they couldn't do shit. It was awesome!
I USED TO LOVE ANSWERING ON MY DAY OFF!!! BC ALL IT TOOK WAS 2 OR 3 NOS AND THEY WOULDN'T CALL ANYMORE! UNLESS I'D BE WORKING WITH A MANAGER WHO ACTUALLY CARED AND HELPED HER/HIS TEAM. THEN I KNEW I COULD NEGOTIATE A DIFFERENT DAY OFF AND ACTUALLY GET IT.
I watched a manager spend all day complaining about a bag of m&ms on the floor by a register that was closed, asking 10 different people to pick it up any time he walked by it, writing up incident reports and sht. 😂😂
Honestly surprised Jen called. And even more surprised the manager answered or called people to come in. He should have said “yea I’ll be right there” and show up exactly 35 minutes later. And asking “you still need help??” Lmfao…
It's funny seeing managers try to help and seeing first hand they have NO idea how the department works, yet they still have the balls to tell you how to do your job 😂
The next day…anyone who doesn’t call out or isn’t off it going to suffer…it’s funny when it happens-it even feels good to watch them squirm a bit but they always get their kick back in the end😭
You would figure it'd be a requirement for managers to put in some amount of hours every month on a register. A quota they'd naturally fill if they're not complete ass and actually help their coworkers.
I had managers like this who just sat in the office. That's why I promised to not be like that when I became a manager. I work hard WITH my staff. It's why 90% of the time I can get someone to come in when I need it. It's called having a good relationship with your staff.
The worst part of managers like this is when they finally come help and fuck up the flow of work so much you just want them to back to whatever unimportant thing they were doing in the first place
"Maybe I should start approving their PTO" Bruh. Felt that. We had people realize they had pto. A manager once lied to us and say part timers don't get PTO.
When I worked at Walmart this is 1000% how it was. Hell it's still the same. The "Managers" are just people with a title who think it means "I stand around and gossip about work without working so I get paid more than 2x what the workers get paid". Literally saw a Manager the other day walk by me at Walmart as they're calling in over the speakers for someone to come open the medicine stuff. I waited over an hour and the Manager passed by me 5 times not saying shit. I finally asked if SHE has the keys and she says no but she'll have someone come help. It took a Security Guard noticing me trying to get someone's attention for them to finally send someone over. He had to wait for the Managers to get the keys - they had the keys the entire time.
Jeff's panic attack for the entire video is how every interaction is for me. It's like, "Youre asking me what side I want with my burger. OMG no fuck jesus Christ this wasn't part of the plan. Im sorry jesus christ. what sides do you have??"
Anti anxiety meds or umm, maybe try a certain "herbal incense"? One of those helped me a lot. Used to be very spastic. A bit of relaxation to learn how to mellow out. Oh, plus exercising, accomplishing things, and facing fears. After doing things I didn't think were possible and doing things that terrified me before, the smaller stuff didn't bother me as much.
I don’t miss being a manager at all in a retail business. This is exactly how it happens. People call out and the other folks off will not come in to help. This is funny because it’s all truth 😂
lmao yoooo, i'm giggling. That should've been when i quit, but thank god i don't work there anymore
I got so many people trained on register because everyone in the store was supposed to know how but so many were avoiding learning so they wouldn't be able to help xD
