  • This week we look at the 3 most popular Taylormade Drivers, the M4, M6, and of course their latest edition the SIM. Rob & I hit 30 balls off the tee from the 7th hole at Bali National, used the trackman to get some stats, and gave our feedback on the feel of the clubs. Enjoy the video, and please subscribe if you liked it!

    Just bought a SIM driver after playing an M4 and a Mavrik for a year. I didn't expect much difference but the difference is noticeable. The Sim makes every shot feel solid, even on offcenter strikes. It reduces spin so shots were noticeably more boreing with more roll out. It reminded me of the of the difference in going from an RBZ driver to the M2. The feel went from springy to rock solid. The M4 is a great, forgiving driver but SIM is simply better. The Mavrik was too unforgiving for me. If I hit slightly outside the jail break bars (roughly the middle inch of the club) the ball went nowhere. The TwistFace of SIM makes almost any strike playable. The EvenFlow Riptide shaft may be playing a part as well. Seems to square the club almost automatically. Really impressed with the SIM.

    I just traded in my M4 w/stiff 60 gram Diamana shaft for the SIM MAX with the Ventus Blue regular flex shaft. There was no gain in distance, but my ball flight with the SIM is more of what I was looking for with both at 9.75 degrees of loft. It launched too high with the M4/Diamana and the SIM MAX has a mid trajectory with better dispersion. I had tried a different regular flex shaft in the M4 when I first got it and it was still launching high. Also, the SIM sounds a lot better. Hope that helps anyone out there. If you are looking for longer drives, book lessons, you likely won't gain any yardage unless your current driver is old and you weren't fitted for it.

    Were they the same shafts and grip because that makes a huge difference, my M4 has a tensei 500 dollar shaft on it and goes miles and straight every time.

    Nice video.. I just recently got the SIM max Driver and I was using the 2017 M2 Driver before the SIM. I’m getting avg 280-300yds and it is a lot more forgiving. It took me a minute to get used to the sweet spot which is drastically closed to the heel of the club. Did any of you guys have any problem adjusting to this? It’s just a bit different than any of the drivers I’ve ever used

      The sim max seems to be quite different from the sim. Going to have to get one and try it out!

    I had the M1 and M4 and now have the mini driver and M6. M1 weights messed with my head, M4 silver boarder never looked right at address. I like the mini 11.5 (original one) for range practice being a small head and shaping. M6 is fighting my Ping G410 for bag space, Ping currently has it. The M6 is 9.5 with the even flow red which may be losing some distance due to height. I need to look at spin on a monitor.
    My question is, would you rather upgrade the shaft or the club? M4 is around $300, M6 $450 and Sim Max $600 as demo/pre gloved. The price gaps are similar to after market shafts. Im a lefty so struggle to try before buy..

    Odd review, good opportunity to test all three with the same shaft, so not sure why you didn't do that.
    The M4 on test had an AD DI shaft, that's a £200 upgrade over stock?

    • @SkinsGolfTV
      @SkinsGolfTV  4 года назад +1

      Yeah I hear you on that, it would be a good way to test just the heads. Ultimately we really just wanted to test the stock M6 and the stock SIM, the M4 was something we decided to throw in because it was sitting in the bag.

      @@SkinsGolfTV Also if comparing 3 drivers, the sim max would have been a better comparison. The M4 and M6 are the more forgiving versions of their respective generation of drivers, while the sim is the "lower spinning" model of it's generation.
