    1. 9'o clock rule - go to sleep on time every day, stop all tasks, to get a good day ahead
    2. Act of planning has value - take a step back to check if you're moving in the right direction. Track your way to your vision.
    3. Power of batching - group similar tasks together to have intense focus and deep work. Switching causes distraction.
    4. Time block 90minutes-deep work sessions with predetermined goals in your calendar.
    5. Put your daily tasks to recurrent events to form a habit as there is no deadline.
    Have to-do lists for 2 min rule tasks and do them immediately without interfering with those with deep work sessions.
    6. Evening review - Get to bed and plan out the next day.

    This video is gold, How many hours do spend on each subject? could you make a video of an example calendar where you show the hours spend before and after taking the class? I'm a part-time student but want to go for a full time in computer science but fall, my classes, are complicated and I also have a job. I haven't seen anyone talking about their schedule in their preparation process. Thank you.

    Definitely have a higher max focus time, but it's only when doing something super enjoyable like reading.
    I finished The lord of flies in one go, took 150 minutes, but again doing something I really really enjoyed.

    But the “attention is the currency of productivity” quote and your explanation of it, i felt I was so stupid to think that. Intense focus and deep work is the way forward. Contact switching is not good for the mind. Thanks man it is amazing!

    Totally agree on batching. Still there is something about doing very big, tedious and difficult tasks that if u just do 5-15 min everyday, not only you make some progress but one day you’ll realize it is done. (In my experience most of those task are related to tidying up/order like house/file system/study system/email).
    Anyways, good job.
    Ps: always thought I was alone, but everyday I found a lot of people that have the same interests, follows the same path and study the same things.

    I have tried a 25/5 split and a 50/10 split for deep work. The problem with 25 is that its too small and the 5 minute break ends up becoming a 30 minute break. The problem with 50/10 split is somewhat the same. Also I am not able to get as much done in 50 mins as I would like. Meaning its hard to schedule a meaninful block of work to be completed within 50 mins, because I have a problem with activation time as well. it takes me atleast 15 mins to get in the zone.
    I think i will try a 90/30 split. seems promising.

    • @AmanManazir
      @AmanManazir  2 года назад +3

      I agree with how you feel on the smaller splits- 90/30 is great for me

      @@AmanManazir Hey I tried to find your video on todos like you mentioned in a video. But i couldnt find that. Can you see if you can add links to the videos in decriptions if you mention them in other videos? Maybe I am missing something here.
      Also great stuff btw on your channel. Loved what i have seen so far.

    • @gb76231
      @gb76231 2 года назад

      i like the 25/5 split. it's indeed too short for getting tasks done but thats about where i start losing focus, so doing multiple 25/5 cycles during my study hours helps a lot. also, getting more than 5 minute break is often too monotonous to me since i dont allow myself to get on my phone during breaks. i usually end up looking at the city through my window or laying on my bed, although boring its pretty replenishing for some reason

    • @UberBossPure
      @UberBossPure 2 года назад

      As a Trick, you should have you phone on fly mode and use your 5 minute breaks to do your to do‘s like cooking, cleaning up, just meditate and don’t watch your phone or television. And you don’t need to do exact 5 minutes, you also can grab a water or something and start afterwards like after 2 minutes
