      Hey Missenden, I would never apologise to the world for simply going for a ride. I'm in Australia (NSW). Today (23/4/20) there is no problem going for a short ride. Our local rules and police are very reasonable, and we support them because their rules are reasonable. UK Bobbies, whatever.
      Let's be sensible about this. If you go for a solo blast around your town, who are you going to breathe on or infect? Nobody.
      Whose breath are you inhaling while riding? Nobody's.
      Good luck with your local lock-down rules in your part of the world. And safe riding.

      @@paulg9314 And if you are unfortunate to come off your bike and seriously injure yourself, what then? Over here in England we're trying to free up our medical service so they have the resources to fight the big numbers of cases we're dealing with. Motorcycle accidents can be a huge drain on hospital services and the NHS can do without that right now. Leisure riding during the lockdown is quite a selfish short-sighted act in my humble opinion.

    • @paulvanhout9695
      @paulvanhout9695 4 года назад +2

      Rob S - Understand your concern but keep in mind the hospital capacity situation varies by country and region. Certainly more risk of exposure if you do end up in the hospital so a personal decision on acceptable risk.

      @@paulvanhout9695 The other consideration we have to keep in mind here in the UK is the standard of driving by other road users. Because the roads are quiet some idiots are out there are driving like loonies and when they meet other road users they have the attitude that the other driver should not be on the road, but home staying indoors. Its pure selfishness of these that could put even the most careful bike rider down. I've been out in car shopping a few times a seen them flat out everywhere, and riding your bumper if they should happen up behind you. I'm glad I'm not sharing the road with them right now.

    Another very good long term review. When ive been serious about buying new, Triumph do let you have the model over the weekend or overnight at least, still does not compare to the time you get though so thanks. The only thing i would say though is a lot of us only have one bike, I myself have the 'old' Rocket3 and make it do what I want for the circumstances. Panniers for touring, backrest for the missus, single seat for posing. Small tank bag for commuting, as you said you would if you bought the new one.

    A modern version of the 1940s Indian4. I ride a 600cc sportbike on Saturdays, and a 600cc cruiser on Sundays. It is nice to go from feet back to feet forward. If the battery fails for 1, I ride the other one until I get around to buying a new one and installing it. The main problems with the Rocket 3 are the cost to buy, the faster wear for the back tire from the weight and torque, and the insurance costs. To me, one side of the engine looks a lot better.

    Aim for outside of curve, look where you wanna go, countersteer it until you're on your line, lean it, open up throttle! My cobras are worn down, and my footpegs soon need replacing, but this isnt a motorcycle you should manhandle., It carves it's weight through very well. Even on very tight passes, it's a joy to ride, and I could almost bet, I'd beat times with the Rocket as compared to my old Speed Triple (2001) and the 2021 R1 that I've sold to have the Rocket 3 R!
    Whenever I dont commute to work, I'm picking the Rocket over the old speed triple. And even when commuting to work on not so busy roads.. I'm taking the Rocket. Lane-filtering is difficult with it, because it's kinda wide, and long, and heavy, and I dont wanna bang side-mirrors with it. But it's doable. Once it's moving, sometimes I forget I'm on a 320kg motorcycle, and just assume it's a bicycle.
    It's such a unique motorcycle in so many ways, if you have the opportunity to test-ride one, I promise you that you will never forget it, and it'll keep nagging on you until you actually buy and OWN one! In this time and age, this is a motorcycle that most likely, will never be built again. I'm gonna die with my 2001 Speed Triple, and I will die with my 2021 Rocket 3 R!

      Chris H I’m a two-fingered braker too and had no probs with the rocket. Similar braking setup to their other bikes like the tiger 900, street triple RS, so obviously doesn’t feel as sharp as those with all the extra weight. But they’re still good brakes

I am on the understanding (through internal information) that the railways are being asked by the government to implement a considerable increase in the number of trains running from May the 18th, so perhaps some 'loosening' in the pipeline. Alternatively, if it does drag on, you could
      A)Seek guidance from the local police, and
      B) Assuming that goes well, put it to a poll of your viewers via a 'live chat' with the inclusion of the positive police advice. As for the bikes tearing around? Yes, I have noticed them too on my way from Warwickshire to Derbyshire each shift. Speed limits seem to have been removed it appears too (not that my NC750 can take advantage lol)....
