great video! very detailed and informative. I looked all over the internet and found this in a 3rd gen forum. I have a 91 project car and will be adding you to my favs list. Please keep the videos going on all of your mods/upgrades. Thanks for posting
Just watched and to respond, yes it helped me a lot. My rotors are bad on my 83 Camaro and I'll be needing to change them, the bearings, and maybe the pads. This was EXTREMELY helpful thank you very much!.
so far this is the best video ive seen on changing the bearings. I thought you were supposed to over tighten the castle nut to help seat the bearing then back it off and set it properly. im still researching though. thanks for the video helped a lot.
I used to do this with the Chilton Guide..Just wanted to see again. Got a 89' Formula 350.. I always take off jewelry before working on a vehicle..Thanks, nice video..Don't forget to back off the castle nut a bit, after completely seating
just replaced one side. Before pulling the caliper off, put a big c clamp over it eith the end toward you on the brake pad. Tighten the clamp all the way, then you can remove everything very easy and install the new pads because you have already pushed the cylinder all the way in.
Nice clear instruction, however, I did wish to see how to put those pads in place and reset the piston, as setting them in place is rather finicky ...LOL but otherwise a perfect instruction!! Thank you!. :) I have a third gen been driving for over 20 years, so nice to learn even more on mine:) Cheers! Do you have more vids on the 3rd gen work etc? This was the best I found!!
your supposed to over tork the berring a little to seat the bearing and back it off and retork to the lighter spec like 30 pounds and then 20 or till it spins freely my tork specs are just a guess but you should look up the real specs. a loose wheel berring could be catastrophic . you should read a service manuel.
You can also measure the endplay using a dial gauge, this is the safest way. But if your spinde is worn, it might take even more torque to not have too much endplay. Then it's time to replace the spindle. I've had this problem. The mechanics just tightened the nut as hell because there was always a too much endplay when they torqued it as one should do correctly.
Very nicely done. Are those the Power Stop calipers and rotors? I have considered getting some as an upgrade from stock without the price tag of a Baer or Wilwood.
When one purchases new rotors they have races already installed. I do not know about 2nd generation camaros, but 3rd generation have them already on the rotors.
the new front brake pads have the clips not on the inside pads. I have tried to put them on but they fall off when I install them. Let's cover this problem. Autozone and O'Reiley pads are like this. Without the clip the inner pad has a habit of falling down on the top and wearing on part of the pad.
Sakumi I didn't know they had a dual version. Well I'm not sure what it is compared to the stock brakes since mine where tore to hell but they are fantastic. I can easily lock up my front brakes
Nice video. I can't buy these brake kit cause they don't ship overseas. Can I do it like you in the video with the power stop Z26 Street Warrior Kit on my 3rd gen?
I'm having trouble bleeding my brakes I replaced calipers in front and have fluid at the brake hose but nothing out the bleeder screw on drivers side passenger is fine ? Any help

I just bought a similar kit to yours and I’m installing it tomorrow and thanks to your video I know the process of how to install it

Correct
Thanks. This video was extremely helpful
Great video man. I am also restoring an 89 Iroc and you have been very helpful.
Keep up the good work and the videos.
Great video. This will help me so my Firebird brakes!
Good video! I'm doing the c5 brake conversion, and I gotta install the bearings to the hub I bought with confidence now! Thanks man

Highly informative. Love the videos. Also I'm so glad I'm not the only one who crosses their legs when they work on cars XD
Definitely helps, thank you! I'm restoring my entire Firebird :-D
Thank you so much for your time and effort.
This is an excellent video. Thank you for the detail, doing mine this weekend.

good detailed video man!
You put your seal on backwards lol
Great video but you should show the action aswell for beginners like me.
where did you get your hood

You installed the brake rotor seals BACKWARDS! The spring seal goes inside!
why did you take the old seal out?
have uou bought the new brake pads? That you have to install the clips for the inside pads, which don't attach? We would like to see that?
Very nicely done. Are those the Power Stop calipers and rotors? I have considered getting some as an upgrade from stock without the price tag of a Baer or Wilwood.
I have a 1970 SS 396 Camaro and they have races for each bearing. Are these new rotors already have the races installed.

if you are replacing all bearings, why remove the inside bearing?

Did you notice an improvement in braking with the new calipers? I am considering their dual caliper version.

Try looking into the prop valve, sometimes the valve that sends fluid to the different calipers gets clogged or seized.
curious if i should go with this kit or the slightly more expensive kid on RockAuto, powerstop brand, anyone know?
there is a new grease, red n tacky. Sticks better than standard grease.
Where did you get those rotor ? I will like to get some for my car
I have a link to the kit that I bough in the video description
Awesome!!!!! Thanks!!!
use a C clamp to compress the cylinder and it will come right off
noice ^^

The intro to your videos is loud and annoying please get rid of it
don't fool with the old worn rotor and bearings.. No point
