Our housecat didn't catch mice either. She let one scurry across the floor in the kitchen once. Just ran right in front of us. I stared at her like "Dude, you don't pay rent. Why can't you catch a mouse?" ... LOL! XD
I adopted a senior kitty. He was 16. His human mom had died of cancer. I only had him a year, but it was a very good year for both of us.
Bo served as Barn Cat for years and now it's time for him to relax and enjoy life. My million thanks to Angela.
I fostered a senior cat from a shelter who had Stage 3 kidney disease. We had two glorious years together before he passed. No one wanted to adopt him so I gave him a home and he knew so much love before he went to kitty heaven.
For 17 years old, he is in great shape! And you are right. This was never a “barn” cat!

My daughter had a wonderful cat that lived for nineteen years. Whenever I came to visit, KittyBoo would make me feel So welcome! She would always come and sleep with me during my visits. I still miss that sweet girl.

I never would have guessed Bo was 17 years old. He's beautiful and spry! So glad he found a loving home in his golden years.
His owner "retired"... so it was time for Bo to retire from being outside catching mice. So glad his owner thought of him.

Although it is sad when a senior has to part with their loving pet, I know it's must be a joy to know that they are not going to sit in a shelter. My oldest kitty is 21, still active and has me on schedule!
I adopted an eight year old kitty whose owner had cancer and eventually passed. He's 19 now and still spry. Bo could have a fair number of years left in him!
Senior pets are just the best. They get more and more talkative and more snuggly by the week. Thank you for adopting one. Bless you
