*Oh, this is SO WONDERFUL❣️ My Mom and my siblings were able to rehab an abandoned male baby squirrel DECADES AGO and I have never forgotten the joy "Chipper" gave to our family❣️He was named Chipper because of the "chip, chip, chip" sound he constantly made. We were eventually able to release him into our yard of 14 mighty oak trees 🌳 and we occasionally hand-fed him peanuts 🥜 as he constantly visited us for 2 years after his release‼️ He actually mated and brought his spouse AND HIS 3 BABIES (2 males and 1 female) TO MEET US ONE TIME WHEN WE WERE GIVING HIM PEANUTS❣️🥜🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿 He took the peanuts and brought them to his "wife" until her cheeks were full, then filled his cheeks, and then the 5 of them scampered back up the oak tree to their nest. I was 11 years old when we rescued him; 12 years old when we released him and I am almost 70 now, and it's one of my lifetime's FAVORITE MEMORIES❣️😁🥰 I can just imagine how delightful it has been for you having Rocky in your home for 10 years❣️❣️❣️😁🤣🤣🤣 You are a GOOD WOMAN‼️🐿*

Many people just assume that since they are "wild," that they will be just happy living outside. Well, for some maybe, but if they don't want to live outside, sending them back out would be suicidal, and I'm so glad she tried but decided to keep him inside. God bless your kind heart!

I feed roughly 15 to 20 squirrels every morning. I have one guy who comes booking across my neighbors’ yards, down the street to be the first to get his peanut. This guy is roughly 8 to 10 years old and if I left my front door open, I’m afraid he come inside. He’s very friendly, cute and has quite an amazing personality! In fact, most of them are pretty cool animals who enjoy human interaction. I’m highly jealous of this woman but at the same time don’t have the time nor energy to keep up with an indoor squirrel!! My hat off to you my dear !
Does he book through Airbnb? I have a squirrel that visits often and comes inside sometimes. He's possessive of his nuts too, and growls sometimes. I can scratch him on the head.
I rescued a squirrel. Found her below a tree (and no other squirrels around-I looked!) and she was full of fleas and dehydrated to the max. I had her two years and she did think I was EVERYTHING. I finally had to release her as she got to sexual maturity and started getting aggressive. I knew I would have to release her eventually, but I really still miss her. I left a window open and her old bed in the barn with food, etc. I haven't seen her since and I find myself still looking for her when I am outside....She was something special.
@@peterdebrie I find that you can teach them use a little litter box and they will use it most of the time, especially to pee. They do not mess in their nests. I only rehab for release when I find a baby in need.

Sweet baby! When you raise a baby animal from a very small age, just keep them indoors. They are safe. They are healthy. And they are loved and protected with you.

I have four squirrels in my garden here in the South of England. They chase each other around all day, run along the tops of fences, up and down trees. Hugely energetic, agile, and very cute. 🥰

This is such a unique and unlikely bond between a human and a squirrel. It’s the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen. It turns out the person who reported him wasn’t the woman from Texas. This is confirmed by the New York DEC records on the report. Poor woman has gotten hate mail and death threats. Turns out she also does animal rehab.

My mom has taken in about 7 or 8 baby Squirrels within the past 15 years and I like to call her the Squirrel whisperer. She always ends up releasing them back into nature but it's an amazing process and they all had such different personalities. She's even rehabilitated a blue jay who flew away his 1st year and has been back and stayed for the last 3 years and even brought his mate. As adorable and fun as all those babies were she always said they're still wild animals and I've seen it. After letting her babies go into the woods surrounding her home they would normally come back and then the next year still come and love all over my mom and normally by the 3rd year they stopped having physical contact with her but would still come back year after year to her feeders. Nature is an amazing and wonderful thing and the people who take these animals in are a special kind of someone. It's so great to see these types of stories and thank you for sharing yours.

Squirrels are incredibly smart and very skittish. It takes a tremendous amount of time and empathy to get within 10 yards of one so this says a lot about your commitment!
Rocky acts like he learned some behaviors from a CAT - purring, unrolling toilet paper. But unlike a cat, he climbs trees and can get back down himself. Now he is part of your squirrel rehab team, serving as a mentor. Adorable to watch!

What an amazingly wonderful relationship! It’s so amazing that he purrs like a cat, because when I watched this, the entire video reminded me of how my cats have acted. The way they come running when I call them, and cuddle, etc. I don’t know the whole Peanut story but I’m gonna have to look that up. Keep your baby safe ❤

Not trying to cause panic but if you live in a dumb state like New York I suggest you teach this little guy how to run and hide on cue should any creeps show up at your home. Don’t answer your camera bell until he’s safely hidden first. I personally wouldn’t answer regardless. Not even with a warrant. But if you absolutely must, make sure your lawyer is already made aware of your situation so no time is wasted when you call them to bust your baby out.

Squirrels are very social and must be nurtured as babies. Rocky has picked y’all as his family. It looks like he’s having a great time!! So sweet!

It absolutely warms and tickles my heart that there are people who love animals so much that rescuing them is a no-brainer. I feel the exact same way, and I am so happy for Rocky that he found his forever home even though it’s indoors he seems to be the happiest little guy. I absolutely loved the story💞♥️💞🐿️♥️
Squirrels are incredibly smart and very skittish. It takes a tremendous amount of time and empathy to get within 10 yards of one so this says a lot about your commitment!

Rocky acts like he learned some behaviors from a CAT - purring, unrolling toilet paper. But unlike a cat, he climbs trees and can get back down himself. Now he is part of your squirrel rehab team, serving as a mentor. Adorable to watch!

What an amazingly wonderful relationship! It’s so amazing that he purrs like a cat, because when I watched this, the entire video reminded me of how my cats have acted. The way they come running when I call them, and cuddle, etc. I don’t know the whole Peanut story but I’m gonna have to look that up. Keep your baby safe ❤

Not trying to cause panic but if you live in a dumb state like New York I suggest you teach this little guy how to run and hide on cue should any creeps show up at your home. Don’t answer your camera bell until he’s safely hidden first. I personally wouldn’t answer regardless. Not even with a warrant. But if you absolutely must, make sure your lawyer is already made aware of your situation so no time is wasted when you call them to bust your baby out.
