Your RESPONSIBLE co existence with her has led to her living years longer than normal! & they show us, that they enjoy the relationship with us, as much as we do with them. I'm a firm believer in the scripture that says God gave us the animals as a gift. Everyone who interacts with them feels it, believer or not... But I'm not trying to evangelize, I'm only here to thank you for your beautiful story.
This is utterly amazing! Lady Bonita is truly magical! The relationship you have with her is magnificent!! Also, I feel she loves hearing your gentle voice to be very calm and soothing! You are both blessed to have each other! 😊❤
God bless you for taking care of the squirrel I live in Cape coral Florida right next to Bonita springs and take care of six spayed and neutered cats for 14 years everyday
I have been studying squirrels, possums, you name it, in Massachusetts for years. I have never heard of ground squirrels. What a remarkable array of animals you have. I can't believe you have taken ticks off a wild squirrel and are brushing her. Wow! It is a wonderful world when you start looking closely at nature. I never tire of it.
Hey Massachusetts 😊. I found this story so sweet and heartwarming🥰. I never heard of ground squirrel before this video. In Western MA, there are black squirrels, which I find fascinating. None in my yard, but I've seen them in little clusters around town🙏.
I didn’t know there were such things as ‘ground squirrels’🐿️ Thank you for telling us all about the beautiful Ms. Bonita and her partner Sledge! This Aussie enjoyed the tale very much. Thanks for providing the wildlife around your home with such a safe and welcoming space ❤🇦🇺
@@bird2112 Cool thanks for that ☺️ We don’t have any of those species here. We actually don’t even have squirrels. Always nice to learn about new animals.

To some just a backyard, but to you a world unto itself. And you're right, and wise, that many different worlds exist within inches if we are willing to see them. Wonderful video.
This is one of the most beautiful human and animal stories I have every seen and I have been around for several decades. Thank you for sharing this amazing relationship.
If you hadn't lost your job, for whatever reason, you would never have discovered this beautiful world just a few yards from where you live. I envy you and your life.
I love this woman’s humble and thoughtful approach to being a friend to a wild animal. She took the time to identify what species Miss Bonita is, and what foods she needs. She made sure that feeding her wouldn’t cause her harm by encouraging comfort with other humans. She lets Miss Bonita guide their relationship and choose the activities they share. And she feels that she’s the one who’s received so much from their friendship ❤
Rodents are so cute. I love how they eat with their little hands. I didn't even know a squirrel could live up to 11 yrs. Google says 3-4 and in captivity around 6 yrs. Miss Bonita is blessed with a long life, a loving bf and a caring neighbor.
Thanks for this story that contains a person's insights and observations. It's very detailed and thoughtful in a way that most of the wildlife videos are not, with the learning experience of a woman who has been able to gain so much from her close relationship with a particular ground squirrel and other wildlife she's come to see with more understanding and appreciation. This lady has a wonderful attitude.
I'm from California. I used to jog along the river pathway. Ground squirrels will scatter into dens and tree squirrels running up the trees. It's interesting to see different species co existing together.
You are so right about just watching and paying attention!!! Watching animals ( pets) and wildlife is a continuous learning experience and very enriching to our lives. Maybe if we did that more, we would be more appreciative and gained more respect for the world we live in instead of only using its resources and acting like pests.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful friendship with Ms Bonita! I love when people open their eyes to the wonders of nature in their own backyard; it's magical. And thank you for showing us how special ground squirrels are ❤ interesting!
Thank you for joining us ❤️ As horrible as the lockdowns were, alot of people then had the opportunity to slow down & reflect, and as this woman here, learn just how loving & beautiful our wild animal friends are ❤
Yes. I noticed there were quite a few people, of all walks of life and financial situations, could not accept any change that wasn't their choice first.
Wild animals lead far, far more complex lives than we realize. That is until we watch them carefully, like this sweet lady! Wonderful video about living with nature harmoniously. Bless her.
What a lovely relationship between a squirrel and a human - and also very informative - the first time I've heard of ground squirrels. Long live Ms Bonita!
Ms Bonita is magnificent. I like the "flowing river of energy we never notice" analogy. Very apt. Some people pay attention to nature more than others, for some it took a pandemic to stop and notice. Many folk have returned to their former oblivion. It's great to know the wonderful Ms Bonita (and fellow garden tenants) are noticed amd appreciated all year round.
I’m (animal) crazy, and love this type of story. Politics, weather, crime.. sucks the life out of me. Thank you, Ms Bonita and LuAnn, and GEOBEATS. 🐿️🐿️🐿️
I did the same--I started noticing and feeding the animals in my backyard, and I noticed it had the side-effect of reducing my daily rat race anxiety and stress levels tremendously. My backyard is my everyday sanctuary now. Nature heals. 🙏

It's Amazing that you have had a Special opportunity to get to know Ms. Bonita...Thank you for taking great care of her...Such an inner Spiritual relationship that is Priceless!!!
My backyard has daily drama. Squirell wars, falcon, hawk, cats all trying to kill something. Don't hate squirrels, they're just trying to survive and not get killed in the process
What a lovely story....it's so nice how people treat with kindness, caring, and loving to these AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS. 2 thumbs up all the way!
♥️♥️♥️♥️🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿 I've formed a friendship w some squirrels and chipmunks and birds in my backyard and now from spending so much time w them I can tell what they're "talking" about by their chips, squeaks, chirps and so on and the squirrels tail flicking lol......I feel extremely fortunate for this experience! What an amazing journey this woman & Ms Bonita are sharing! No matter where we live, we are almost always surrounded by nature if we look closely enough. A simple act like putting out water for the wildlife around you can be the beginning of an incredible journey of discovery.💖💖💖
We had a pet squirrel named notch, because of her ear. Notch came to our house one winter and stayed. I deemed it a great honor when she let me rub her after we had her awhile. We kept her well fed, but once she got impatient and pushed a screen in to come in our home. You have a beautiful relationship with Bonita. If everyone took in nature each day our planet wouldn't be in the shape it's in . I am blessed to live in the woods. Much happiness to you and Bonita.

I had a rat coming around for a while. I knew who it was from it’s broken tail. My cats brought it in several times, then I found it in my pool skimmer holding on for dear life, while it was running, so I saved it again. I said “one more time and I’m buying you a cage!!” I never saw it again 😢
