greetings from bay area in calif. i am also a squirrel feeder and am providing peanuts in shells and shelled walnuts. some prefer the peanuts and wont accept walnuts. there are a couple of nursing moms who wait for me early in the morning and come back rather late -- at sunset. of course our seasons are milder here but i still put out dried corn on cob for winter months. bless you for hosting this wonderful feast !!

Me too. I’m in the UK so I get foxes and badgers at night to clear the leftovers too. My old cat loves watching the squirrels and birds like Keira. (UK foxes and badgers are not dangerous unlike the USA.)

He honestly looked stunned, like he was questioning how much he’d had to drink last night or if it was all some kind of trick. Then he just grabs a single almond to go & doesn’t come back until he’s had a quick lie down & some time to think. Pierce is quite gentlemanly for a male squirrel, especially a (possibly) former Alpha. He just seems pretty chill with the idea of sharing. With the ladies at least… I suspect it’s just your calming influence rubbing off on him! If I tried this my blue jays would have it cleared in five minutes. Squirrelers wouldn't have a chance.
