    I wish they’d make a Dark Contract spell that on activation could special summon 1 D/D monster from hand, then as an ignition effect, it could foolish burial or banish another Dark Contract spell from deck to copy its effects for the turn. You pay 2k during standby phase to upkeep it and it would probably have a “You can only summon D/D monsters during the turn you activate this effect” clause.
    …a man can dream…

    Orthros popping Gate is not needed for the first test hand. The standard scale pairing with Thomas is Gryphon. First pend summon Gryphon #1, then the scaled Gryphon #2 pops itself (this is possible with Kepler lines because you have a Contract). Then Thomas grabs that 2nd Gryphon from the ED and special summon it via Swirl.
    The classic scale pairing with Orthros is Ragnarok. The alternative route to 2x Pend 4s is as follows. With the Gate, search Copernicus instead of Gryphon. Special Copernicus via Swirl Slime and Foolish Gryphon. Copernicus and Rage make Gilgamesh, scale Orthros and Ragnarok. Pend summon just the Copernicus and use Ragnarok to revive the Gryphon, searching Headhunt. Make small Caesar and then 2nd Gilgamesh, searching Swamp King. Activate Swamp King to fusion summon small Genghis using Copernicus from grave and Necro Slime from hand. Banish Necro Slime and Gilgamesh from grave to summon small Genghis #2. Genghis #1 activates to revive small Caesar. Small Caesar make Tell, detach to burn and then Tell becomes the Machinex.
    The main differences between this alternative route compared to the first is that Gryphon is never pend summoned so Necro Slime does not get discarded to draw a blank. However, instead of having Gryphon as an extra body at the end, your 2nd Gilgmesh is still there in the EMZ. Machinex was made using the monster revived by small Genghis. Both Orthros and Ragnarok are preserved as scales. This alternative line has noticeably better follow up although going for the blank draw is also reasonable.

      The second test hand with Copernicus, Gryphon, + Patent could’ve added an extra Siegfried to the endboard. The way it was played, the intended endboard looked like it wanted big Genghis + Patent to help floodgate fusions.
      Copernicus + Gryphon is the standard “full combo” for DDD as it gives Machinex, big Caesar, Siegfried, and Headhunt. This line is based around Orthros popping itself and Tell to Foolish Patent, use that effect return Orthros to hand. This has to happen before Ragnarok uses its revive effect because the burn damage will allow Orthros to special summon itself.
      Knowing this, we want to get to at least this same endboard when we hard draw Patent alongside Copernicus + Gryphon. Drawing a brick is already bad enough but it shouldn’t kill off the intended combo line.
      Luckily, we can activate Patent early and then use Orthros to pop itself and the Patent to return Orthros to hand. This will allow Tell to foolish something else.

      @@Dayoni_GamingIn this case, wouldn't it be better to pop orthros and Tell and then to foolish Lamia?
      Lamia effect to pop patent and returns orthros to the hand, so continue the combo with a extra gilgamesh endboard.

    • @Dayoni_Gaming
      @Dayoni_Gaming 2 месяца назад +1

      @@eduardofreitas6362 The way I think about Copernicus + Gryphon vs Copernicus + Gryphon + Patent is that the first hand uses up Tell to get access to Patent while the second line does not.
      This means the Foolish effect from Tell could be used on anything and still end up with big Caesar + Siegfried + Headhunt. Your suggestion uses the spare Tell effect on Lamia but that Lamia never gets paired with anything such as a D’arc or Vice Typhon later. The Siegfried is made with Orthros + Gryphon.
      There’s nothing wrong with getting an extra brick out of the deck. Although I would probably use the spare Tell on Vice Typhon instead.

    • @eduardofreitas6362
      @eduardofreitas6362 2 месяца назад

      @@Dayoni_Gaming In this case the lamia is used with the small caesar to make a new gilgamesh and search the fusion contract. The endboard is Siegfried+ High Caesar+ Machinex+gilgamesh (one of the two on the field is used for machinex) and the headhunt. The difference is that gilgamesh can be used to bring something useful if it is destroyed, probably high genghis.
      But I understood your point, thanks for responding.

    • @Dayoni_Gaming

      @@eduardofreitas6362 You’re right. Getting an extra Gilgamesh out of hard drawing Patent is not bad.

    I believe that this format the best way to play DDD is with a more engine based strategy and higher card combos. In a format with 15 average handtraps per deck, relying on Copernicus + Gryphon + 3 non engine just doesn't cut it. Cracking up the number of Lamias and Ragnaroks for example allows for a more synchro based playstyle (with odd-eyes package and with Alexander for example) that forces interactions very early in the combos, even before Gilgamesh kicks in. This ensures that no matter how many handtraps they throw on you, you can assure a Machinex with a siegfreid (with Gilg setting Apocalypse and Thomas, whilst having Lamia in rotation, for example). At least I'm having way more success like this. Nevertheless great video and nice test hands.

    Machinex is so crazy with just 2 dark contracts on the field, because I think you can use its effect 4 times. If you had another on the field, it would be 6 times. That final board with Caesar, Siegfried, and Machinex on the field with Dark Contract with the Gate, Swamp King, and Patent Liscence with D/D/D Headhunt is actually an insane board.

    I liked who you goingt through the "flow of execution" (as Yacine would call it) - the overall strategy, rather then just countless combos (that I have seen before). I think I learned a lot, and I can kind of see D/D/Ds now. I think, if one played it a lot, it might not be that extremely difficult any more.
    Also, nice that Nightmare Throne can search Keple & Copernicus etc. that is all the good starters. So its a better Piri Reis Map. Cool!

    You have to be a different dimension demon in order to comprehend, let alone pull off, combos in this deck. It's like Nouvelles or Dark World. Not so much about linear combo lines but playing your hand to the best of the your ability (which you need an insane amount of deck knowledge and amazing fundamentals to have a chance to set up a D/D/D board).
    I don't think I'll ever build the deck but I am always amazed how players can just......do things in this deck and not have a psychotic episode keeping track of everything. Good stuff as always, Phantom.
    The deck is more or less cheap but Nightmare Throne is mandatory to compete (though Map is less optimal, it is a budget option. Wish we had a better card to utilize lol)

    Bro this is amazing and help for I play a lot of pendulum decks and I always find them similar but DDD is kinda a bit more reversed (Can play draco/endy/zefra/magicians/pals/odd) however this deck is a bit more different and because its extension is from grave and pile its a bit more confusing for myself this has helped a lot and please continue from one pend player to another keep it up. Aweasome stuff I haven't touch ddd since using ddd/pal/odd with resonators. So I have zero idea on pure since gryphon dropped thanks again.

      Saw no one else has responded yet. I personally feel people are putting too much credit into that card.
      Sure, it does help the deck, but not as much as everyone else says. It serves the same function as Piri Reis Map, just minus the life point cost. The deck works just fine without that card, too.
      There are plenty of ways to get into combo. One of your normal summons, a slime from hand to fusion, one for one, gryphon...
      I'd rather leave the room in the deck for a few more hand traps to be able to do something to my opponent.
