For your allergies, nothing is better than a teaspoon of local honey every morning. Have it first thing and before any foods or coffee. The best local honey is your own, made from the nectar that afflicts you, so I would recommend that you add a couple bee hives to your property. It will enhance your garden and fruit trees too as they pollenate the crops. Take care guys.

I wish that worked for black mold exposure. It definitely doesn't, sadly, and that's one of the big issues they deal with there. It's physically horrific, then add in local pollens and oof. 😫 Non stop secondary infections. In the US it translates to multiple surgeries for P.E. tubes, tonsils and adenoids when the secondary infections are frequent.

Here in Nashville, Tennessee allergies during the spring are a huge thing cuz we live in a gigantic bowl of pollen. Someone recommended local honey to me and since I have been taking a tablespoon in the morning I suffer far less from seasonal allergies. If you're not trying that already, I would give that a try.

Here in Panama (depending on the area) there are a number of things in the air that drive
ex-pats crazy. It all boils down to pollen from specific trees causing extreme breathing irritation and the other that drives kids crazy is called "Peka Peka" (ms) by the locals. According to my neighbors, Guna Yala, a spoon full of honey helps with the breathing problem. As for the Peka Peka, it gets on the legs and arms of kids and is a burning, stinking sensation - just wipe it down with rubbing alcohol or soap and water. Always talk to your Panamian neighbors when in doubt
always talk to your Panamian neighbors - ex-pats are pretty much clueless.

While I would wear a mask when pouring concrete powder so that is not inhaled, you are probably right about a tree/plant putting out pollen since it happens same time each year. I had that too, each spring. Love Kaylee's beautiful observation about motherhood!

A bedtime routine that worked great with my children and grandchildren was to start turning lights off in the house to create dimmer, calmer light. Then teeth brushing and pajamas. TV off to start the calming process as the lights were dimmed. Then prayers and tucking in with kisses, hugs and night nights. I would also lower my own energy, use a calming quiet voice.
The prayer wasn't that frightening Lay me down to sleep one, I changed it. The "if I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take", scared the crap out of me as a child. They never talked about me dying at any other time, so it must happen at night. I tried a few variations and ended up with, "Lord be with me all through the night and wake me when the time is right". Not wake me with the morning light, as the crack of dawn waking wasn't on my agenda when I didn't have to be at work. Take care and God bless.

I think you’re doing a great job with Sadie. I think it’s harder to do a routine when you cosleep. I had three girls. The last two were 15 months apart the next 5 years older. At night I did the exact same thing everyday. Bath would take about an hour. It was play clean and wash hair. That was important because it made them relaxed. Never bathed together because it was my time to talke and play independently. Then it was stories and bottles. I loved stories and as they got older that time seemed to grow. They never fussed at bedtime. Sometimes they’d still be awake but I had a little bin beside their crib of toys to play with. Quiet ones. They were able to put themselves to sleep if they woke up. This routine was fully implemented by 6months. Never cried during the night. And they were very independent. The quiet time before bed where they would read etc set them up learning how to wind down and self soothe. Also played music when I put them down. My kids are in their 20s and they still remember the songs. They were all about strong women!

It felt heavenly because it was 100° and the water was cool. It’s amazing what you can live with. Bravo to you guys. If you decide to keep that old outdoor shower, just wrap something stronger than plastic around 2 fence posts on the windy side to block the wind.

I’ve mentioned this before, but locally sourced honey. If there aren’t any neighbors with a bee colony that you could get honey from, maybe look into starting your own little bee farm on Lola’s farm? If you ingest the local honey from the bees, it helps with allergies. I didn’t have allergies in CA, but now I do in AZ. So I go buy local honey and eat a spoonful of it every day during the springtime, and BOOM! Allergies are tolerable!! Love you guys and safe travels! ❤

Add a little flour based anything to that and you have the perfect petri dish for allergies to increase and explode. During the season you need to avoid them like the plague. Another thing you could do all year long to greatly reduce the allergy problem is take a strong probiotic over the counter every single day like medicine. My mom has an issue in the fall, after the leaves fall. The moisture under the leaves creates mold, so when she goes to clear the leaves it puts the mold in the air and causes her to have an attack. I would think it would be a similar situation on your farm. After the rainy season, the moisture is causing mold on your forest floor. The dry/windy season is exposing it and putting it in the air, causing your attacks. In a few weeks it’s all gone and your back to normal. The only treatment I am aware of is conventional medicine, anything with a decongestant in it. If that’s not enough then add a hart burn medication with it like Zantac (not a chewable one). I know it sounds crazy but something with the hart burn med and the allergy med together makes it stronger. Also take these in the morning before the attack happens to avoid it all together. Waiting for it to happen then taking the meds makes them less effective. Also some people have problems sleeping when you take a decongestant to late. I know you don’t like taking conventional medicine, maybe you can find a natural one. Good luck.

This test is usually done to identify allergies to pollen, mold, pet dander, dust mites and foods. In adults, the test is usually done on the forearm.
I took one myself at a Doctor's office & I'm allergic to about 20 different things! Worst of all was Ragweed. I take a Loratadine every single day year round & it absolutely makes a difference. That's a Generic, so it's cheaper.

Hi Jordan, I am a medical doctor and also an allergy sufferer. Since your allergy is seasonal, it is probably due to some type of weed pollinating. If being absent from the farm during these pollinating weeks is not practical, and if over-the-counter antihistamines like Claritin don't help enough, there's an effective prescription medication called Montelukast 10mg once a day. If you can get it in Panama or have it sent to you from the US, it could help a lot. Unfortunately, I can't prescribe it to you in Panama. I am only licensed in Florida.

    Something you can try.
    Take regular table salt.
Put it in a pan on low heat.
Stir constantly and as it starts to turn to a light yellow barely brown color, pull the pan off the stove and put the hot salt into a sock.
(Do NOT BURN the salt only yellow it.)
Tie the sock and put it up to your ears on the outside of the canal., one at a time alternating it for about 30 seconds to a minute each time.
It will be VERY hot at first, so you just barely dab it against ear canal each time, until it’s cooled enough to leave a bit longer on each ear canal.
This was the only thing that helped my young daughter cope with seasonal allergies.

Knocks the sickies out everytime, but you need to get a good brand supplement!) For quicker relief, I clean my nostrils with wintergreen rubbing alcohol, or rub a drop of rosemary oil in them...afterall, that is where the allergens enter our bodies, and stick there... So proud of you guys for everything you’ve endured and accomplished.
I am a bit concerned about your exposure to building elements such as concrete dust without protection. Is there something different or protective about the concrete mix and other construction products in Panama?
I’m so thankful that you guys get to live out there in an environment
that is much freer from air pollution than us urban folks!
    Just please be super careful.
Love everything that you’re doing 💕❤️

I recommend daily granular Bee Pollen from a hive on your property, using a Neti Pot daily and CBD oil if allowed in your area.
I have recommended this to my patients for several years and have always had great results.

Jordan , you may know some 1 by your land who has honey bees.
    Get the darkest
raw , honey, take a Tblsp. In the morning, at noon & before bed.
Don't drink anything for about 15 min .
The honey nearest to your land will have the pollen from the plants your immune system needs to help you build your resistance to the allergy.
Hope you all had a nice trip.
    Take care.

Go see an allergist. A series of pinpricks will reveal what you are allergic to - and a serum can be devised to combat the allergy. Well worth the time, effort, and expense, which in Panama will be very inexpensive. May have to travel to Panama City to get it done, but you will be happy you did.

Your videos are nothing like your titles. You both are so positive and upbeat that I wish you would portray that. I don’t mean this to come across as a criticism…I sincerely look forward to your videos. You are so inspiring and lovely to watch. Thank you.

Find out what is flowering around this time of year for you Jordan. Its nearly certain it'll be something thats in season. Mark on the calendar how long the symptoms persist each year, then research all the local flowers and veg etc.

I noticed in several videos that you tend to pronounce Boquete more like BoGETe.
As someone who is fluent in both English and Spanish, I can definitely see how you got there, as the “que” is not quite the same as the English “k”, but it’s not as far back in the mouth as the “g” sound.
A tip is to say a “k” but with less air behind it. To practice, try putting your hand in front on your mouth to feel your breath, and try alternating saying an English letter “k” where you can feel the breath on your hand, then a Spanish “que” with no air rushing out.
    Hope that helps! ❤

I can recommend the following for your allergies: This worked 100 % for my husband! First you have to check your blood for cases of incompatibility. In 99,9 % of the cases it‘s gluten, cow milkproducts and eggs. Than you have to avoid these things which is hard at the beginning but ok later on. The result is amazing! All the best!

The only thing I can suggest for the allergies is to find some local honey and eat some every day. Start this a feet weeks before the time it started last year and and keep taking it a few weeks after it usually stops. Or just keep taking it, it can't hurt. Yeah, I used to walk around with tissues up my nose as well. It is so miserable and just keeps coming out. I think my allergy was caused by mold. So yeah, I hear ya! Sadie is so cute when she talks. She is living the life. ❤

    Enjoy this time of we.
I can relate to the season of allergies.
Sometimes it takes years to figure out the culprit, too.
I miss Massachusetts for that reason (amoung many reasons). If I got a bit of sniffles, head to the ocean. Did my head the best. (Perhaps some saline mist?)
Unfortunately, when I came back to the Midwest, my seasonal allergies compounded. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hey Jordan and kaylee and Baby Sadie and Rodrigo, fun video. As for your allergies, I take Allegra. For some reason I don't need it here in Thailand, except for those days when you can see the pollen collecting along the side of the road. Allergies can put you down and you can't do anything. When it's really bad my eyelids will almost go completely shut.
    Good luck with your allergies.

Allergies: the local honey thing; some homeopathic allergy tabs; see an acupuncturist/Chinese medicine doctor (mine always gets me dialed in with a combo of needling and Chinese herb tea pills); place a little Vaseline around the entry to each nostril- it grabs some of the allergens; wear a cloth mask over your snoot. These I’ve used, depending on the situation and it really helps.

I love watching your videos. Since your well goes empty have you given any thought to capturing the water that gets spit out of the check valve and having a gutter or pipe return it to your well. I was going to make a suggestion you could run some low voltage wire to a low voltage water shutoff valve (many of them available on line) that you could turn on and off based on tank level or you could do it manually with a switch near your water tank. You could put in in parallel with the manual valve so you have an option to run it either way. But then saw you like the walk lol.
