    I reckon there’s a big difference between knowing something and understanding something. Your videos always demonstrate the latter - that’s why they’re so good. Thank you once again for sharing your invaluable experience 👍

    The simplicity of splitting the vocal track was a light bulb 💡 moment for me. Thanks Jono. 🙏

      You’re welcome. Absolutely, splitting tracks to give song sections their own treatments saves a lot of Automation. Thanks so much.

    Hi Jono, compression has been my bane (and I’ll be sure to watch your videos on the subject) but when you simply demonstrated “compression” with your hands, it made more sense than any other video on the subject! I still need to learn more but I now see it in a better light. Thanks again,
    Gianni❤

      You’re welcome! It’s one of those topics which makes more and more sense in a variety of contexts. Absolutely, do watch the Compressions videos we’ve made so far - and there will be plenty more to come using Compressions techniques too. Thanks as always!

    Excellent presentation. One of the challenges of mixing is keeping a clear head. There’s a potential for overthinking what I’m hearing, especially when mixing fatigue begins to set in. Your frugal a-little-goes-a-long-way advice is well taken. Cheers.

      Thanks Gary. Absolutely, all of us have to mix with patience and care. Do some gentle work, take a break, come back, listen again and don’t rush. Reference tracks are helpful guides too. And be willing to undo half of what you do all over again tomorrow when you listen with fresh ears!

    Tensly whispering "Let's do our jobs" is very much my feeling when setting out to mix a track.

      @@jonobuchananmusic Oh wow, did the scales fall from my eyes. That is indeed a typical Jono mannerism.
      Also enjoyed the fondling of sound waves, calling them telephone-y. Always thought of that as a product of sampling rate.

    Simple, lol, like I have said in the past she has a Dream voice raspy touches, I listened through a mono Marshal speaker, no I did not plug in my cans or monitors, thought the low cut in EQ good, but the mid and higher cuts and boost all though very small cut the raspyness out the voice, maybe just me? would love to hear her sing with some rock music, I know she’s a modern singer with Dou lipa type music,. gr8 video simple easy cheers.

    Hi Jono, just as a matter of interest, is that a stock vocal performance or do you know the vocalist. She has a lovely raspy voice. You can do a hell of a lot with EQ and compression.

    What version of Logic Pro are you running? I’m asking because I don't see the orange microphone icon on the top right part of your computer which is on the current version of Logic Pro 11.0.1
    Since Sonoma I’ve had issues with the latest version of Logic continuing to use some of my computer’s internal microphone even when all my settings are on my audio box and the volume of the internal microphone is on zero.
    I have seen other people in Apple Logic Support community talk about this problem but no resolution or response given by Apple.
    I find your post and your expertise very helpful. Are you aware of this issue?

    • @fallenleaf24
      @fallenleaf24 Месяц назад

      hes using 11 as hes been doing the tutorials on all the V11 stuff.
      Unless hes got a separate account for the RUclips stuffs xD
      That being said I think it's a Mac thing for when a Mic is being used, I don't think it's tied to logic per se.
      Many people are unhappy with it seems xD

    • @jonobuchananmusic
      @jonobuchananmusic  Месяц назад +1

      I’m using Logic 11. I’ve not experienced that specific issue with my UA Volt connected for audio interfacing. But thanks for letting me know - I’ll do some digging and come back to you if I discover anything which may be of help.
