Note: Spinel being surprised that someone would love her 'like this' (referring to her new design) is likely a nod to her being an off-color, with the streaks under her eyes. She was part of gem culture where being off-color was a flaw worth destruction.
considering she was cloistered i don't think she knew much of anything and as she was a 'perfect' spinel i doubt she'd ever have to learn so her unhappiness with her new status likely was just a reflection of her change from default and not something based on her new off-colouredness
I don't know if having dark streaks under her eyes would make her qualify as an off-color. We better wait to see if the Future episodes provide lore on the standards of what Spinels should be. So far the only reasons for being called off-color include fusions between different gems, defects in intended purpose, and deviation from normal gem production.

What’s the crime!?
Spinel The crime is the ‘Connie and Steven’ coming to uh *slice*
You ever realize that Spinel was just a thematic inversion of the crystal gems? Whilst the crystal gems were a social and later civil rebellion centered around those who were forced into roles they didn't want, to act like people they weren't, Spinel was the inverse. She was built with a single purpose, and that was to be a best friend to Pink (although in reality she was more of a toy than anything else), which when Pink abandoned her that was taken away. She *wants* dependence, she *needs* to fulfill her designated role.
Her entire conflict essentially boils down to not being able to be what she was made to be.

Greg's arm getting hit with acid and healed was a reference to when they had a whole episode about Greg getting hurt and pretending to not be. Their relationship is stronger now and there's more security and trust between them. It's also reliving one of Steven's first uses of his powers.

When Amethyst turned into Rose Quartz, sure it has no effect on Pearl, but it had an effect on Garnet.
Notice there’s a shot that she seems fascinated on Rose.
It was probably one of her 'pieces.' The two that where called out explicitly in the movie where fusion and the truth, but there's more to Garnet than that. Meeting Pearl and Rose was a pretty important part of Garnet's life, and there's probably others too although I haven't noticed them yet.

Rebecca Sugar actually confirms that how she got the injector and the rejuvenator was supposed to be a scene in the movie but was cancelled due to the movie already being too long! (Btw, both of them had apparently belonged to PD, and with Spinel being super close to PD, she had access to them)
I got it from a battle field look in the back of where amethyst was created
One of the things that I loved during Spinel’s rematch with the gems is her little “no” when Garnet starts to regain her memories. Like, the fear and desperation in her voice-
When the diamonds are singing "come on" in "let us adore you reprise", they reach out their hands in the same way they attacked earth in "your mother and mine".

I love how when all the gems went back to their default factory forms, Steven wanted them all back but made it more apparent that he really wanted Garnet back because let’s be honest, that’s his real mother, pink diamond was just a incubator 🙄. Garnet actually disciplined him and with Pearl worried over him while Amethyst acted like a big sister.
I haven't seen anyone talk about spinels eyes how they bobble around from time to time like doll eyes which really suits her role she was made to entertain she's a doll idk I just thought that seemed like a fun untalked about feature of her Design

@@lyawne Crystal gem pearl is not perfect cut, in fact is the only oval pearl so far; that would make her a fancy enough for a saphire but under rhodonite's(a morganite's) pearl. I believe this is why the diamonds took pink pearl from PD and gave her CG Pearl, as a punishment for misbehaving.
But Spinel's cut is also more detailed than Yellow and Blue Diamond

Actually that goes to show that Steven kinda did the same thing his mother did. They both never really explained to Spinel how they felt and then both kinda just expected her to go away once they were done with her. In this movie we start to see a negative side of Steven. The Steven from the show always tried to be friends with the antagonists. Here, he didn't extend his usual hand of friendship.
He used her again at the end again to get the diamonds to stop bothering him.

Steven has the ability to make life return after the earth was poisoned, this means he can make life return back at the kindergarten like he tried with peridot and amethyst.
I've been thinking the same thing! And if it works, he could go heal all the other planet's kindergartens too, even homeworld! The Diamonds likely won't be needing to make any new gems for a while due to not conquering planets anymore, but if they do ever need to make gems again the could just use the same kindergarten over and over again with Steven healing it between each use.
50/50 on that I think. The kindergartens took the life around them to make the gems while the injectors was just poison. Maybe he could try growing life and replanting it there and make it grow.

They attempted to bring life to the kindergarten. But it never did. Plants died. Look that episode and verify it yourself, you'd see.
The problem in that episode was the soil, and the gem that looks like a plant, but mostly the soil and the environment. Conditions are required for a plant to grow, (character development)
Steven universe brings light to reality, that there are things that cannot be changed, there are certain traits that we take for granted that we forget. And for that I begin to understand Spinels anger. Steven never tried to make friends with her, his goal was to solve the problem and get rid of her. I get it why she lashed out. Steven deserves those 2 punches.
@@ZhiZhemini no he doesn't. Steven wasn't trying just get rid of her. He just wasn't planning on being friends right than and there. Which is for the best for both of them. Speniel at the moment is toxic as hell and Steven is emotional drained from the diamonds. They could have easily make things worse for each other.
@Jay Archer just the ruin of his happily ever after but cause he is tired. He spent 2 years dealing with homeworld. He is emotional drained and once again dealing with something caused by is mother. He may have given it a proper try at the end but I feel they both would have been bad for each other. Two soon for both to make a proper friendship.

My favorite detail is that Steven's first reaction after being "reset" was that he just needed Garnet. The gem that he treated as the de facto leader of the Crystal Gems from the start of the series. That was your first hint that his human side had reverted too.

I'm surprised you didn't talk about the parallels of the Diamonds welcoming gestures to Spinel being the same imagery to when the Diamonds attacked Earth. When they first sing "Come on, come on, come on," to Spinel, they reach out their hands one by one in friendship the same way we saw them reach out their hands one by one to send the powerful blast towards Earth in Garnet's tales to the off-colors in the episode "Your Mother and Mine." It's a detail that signifies just how much they've changed for the better.
