So cross-gem fusion was initially forbidden because it could be seen as impersonating another rank or class. Which can have serious consequences in the military or for civilians who impersonate military personnel. That makes a lot more sense. Era 3 is an era of peace, where the classes are learning how to interact and not treat one another as inferior. So cross-gem fusion is much less problematic because there's currently no need for rigid divisions between ranks and classes. It also helps explain how red corundum and blue corundum combine to form...a garnet.
I thought a homeworld sunstone would operate public safety, grouped with rubies to block areas potentially unsafe, like sinkholes, or evacuate gems in the event of a natural disaster l.
I think another worry about fusion, ESPECIALLY when its not just practical same-gem stuff, is the worry gems will get "conflicting" minds with different personalities and ~dangerous~ new ideas, which ain't good if your whole society is based on conformity.
@@AtarahDerek because in the SU universe corundum gems are not the same cut of gem, a sapphire and a ruby are not the same class of gem, this can be noted by both the different class they are fit in and the fact the fusion between a sapphire and a ruby generates extra limbs, something we dont see in a fusion between same cut of gem aka giant ruby and mega pearl Futhermore being different classes and different gems in general, homeworld despised the idea of their fusion

I think fusions can have 'homeworld-equivalents', but I don't think they necessarily have anything in common.
Yeah this video sees Fusions as like they are related to their single Gem counterparts just because they are named as them. Garnet is named Garnet because she looks like Garnet Gem type, not because she has Garnet powers or leadership abilities. Fusions are spontaneous and so are their names. Put two Gems together and you make a new Gem made of their minds abilities and sizes. It's funny that in this video there is no mention of Fluorite, since she is hard one to imagine as single Gem.
I see what you mean. But why would Garnet name herself Garnet then? I think when Ruby and Sapphire fused, they FELT like a Garnet, in terms of innate talent/potential and personality. Because from the video, you can see similarities between the garnets. Garnet fused and identified her existence as closest to a homeworld Garnet, and hence took on that name. Hence, why I can see there being some similarities in appearance, weapons, battle style and personalities. But obvi the fused versions would be a lot more different than the homeworld equivalents. Kind of like all Garnets are a round chocolate cake, but different textures and decoration. But on the most basic sense they have similarities.
h . ad Yeah Garnet is really simmilar to other Garnet Gems in terms of looks, but it’s really a coincidence based on Ruby and Sapphire’s looks. Sapphire is inteligent and quiet, Ruby is strong and impulsive. Their opossites combined makes even better being that is strong and inteligent and that´s because of Ruby and Sapphire. I assume that if for example Hessonite would fuse with Pearl, their combined looks would appear as Sardonyx with slight color changes. When it comes to Blue Diamond’s comment on Garnet I would assume that she meant that her gems are not really of a Garnet type. All other Garnets seen on show/games had same gem cuts. Garnet and other’s Fusion’s gems are only different colors of their gems, in case of Ruby and Sapphire it changes color to purple which is made of red and blue. And technically Garnet is not a Gem, but rather gem group like Quartzes are so Crystal Gem’s Garnet does not have a clear single gem doppleganger, well unless there is a Garnet gemtype in Garnet group. Damn we really need a Steven Universe book about Homeworld and Gem kind.
@@patrikmacek121 I honestly doubt Garnet decided to name herself based on something as petty and face-valued as "physical similarities". Pearl focuses on what others think (i.e. her being more of a follower than a leader) Amethyst focuses on what others think about her specifically as does Steven. But Garnet alone gives most importance to what she thinks about HERSELF. Garnet is all about self-image, self-esteem and self-love. That is to say, about the "self". She wouldn't choose to name herself Garnet because she looks like the ones on Homeworld. The only reason she would name herself a Garnet was if she FELT like one. And seeing what Fox brought up about the similarities in leadership abilities, she damn well felt like one enough to name herself Garnet it seems. Obviously Blue Diamond didn't recognized Garnet AS Garnet. (she couldn't even distinguish between a rose quartz and a diamond-) The reason is simple really, it's because Garnet is a fusion. Fusing brings forth someone who is entirely new and unseen. Ruby and Sapphire fused and the person who came forth CHOSE the name Garnet for herself. They looked inside themself and found Garnet was the name they felt fit. And that's why I agree with this theory. Our Garnet and Homeworld Garnets would have similarities because Garnet chose that name for a REASON. Why would Sardonyx - for example- name herself Sardonyx? It's because when she came into being, her personality and existing battle style and even appearance made her feel a connection to the Sardonyxs on Homeworld. And thats why Garnet and say Pyrope have similarities. Because when Garnet fused and looked into herself, she felt she resembled what a Garnet on Homeworld stood for, hence making her choose that name for herself.
h . ad ok I agree with you that Garnet looks like and feels like other Garnet Gems and she chose her name how she felt. So other Sapphires and Rubies that would fuse could feel other away and name themselves a different. Yes Sardonyx and other Fusions may look like their Homeworld counterparts, but what about Smoky, she is Quartz as is Amethyst and she never met other Quartzes.
I dont think the homeworld versions of the big gems would be big, or even resembling. i think our garnet only just happened to match up with a garnet. even hessonite is bigger than garnet. Smoky comes out questioning who she is and making it up on the spot. amethyst only knows a small handful of gems, so unless the gems just KNOW who they are i think the fusions dont reflect the original gem. But a high rank sapphire might know about the garnet class, or rubies might look up to them as superiors, so as garnet they think, well... I'm like that now so i should be garnet.
Smoky's naming must be a plothole. Amethyst is deffective, she was not created with already predetermined knowledge like other Gems, she did not even knew how to talk when she came to be in Kindergarten. She had to be taught. Amethyst is after Steven closest to being like a human (when it comes to evolving and growing up). So yeah, unlikely she new how Smoky Quartzes look like.
When they fused, smoky said "Oh yeah, who am I now? I feel like Amethyst will know this" - When I heard that, I took it as Steven's side doesn't know their name but Amethyst's does because she's been Smoky before - When she fused with Rose in the past and if so, Rose/P.Diamond would know what a Smoky Quartz is seeing as she made the Quartz.
@@watertrainer1013 I think Smoky was completely new Fusion for Crystal Gems. Remember how Garnet was excited and Smoky introduced herself as someone new in the gang. And can't forget about Sardonyx's interview.
@@watertrainer1013 I wonder though how she would look if Amethyst fused with Rose. Steven's Smoky feels like Steven. I imagine Rose's to be more elegant.
I feel like the more gems that are added to a fusion, the less they become like their counterparts. The same applying to unstable gems like Malachite. But I guess we'll never know 😔
Actually that was confirmed! When Ruby and Sapphire were separated by jasper, Ruby tried to see where sapphire was located because she was used to sharing sapphire's power with Garnet. That's why it's so hard for them to stay separated in any episode where they're unfused. Same kinda goes for Malachite and topaz. Lapis and Jasper found it hard to be separated even though they were both miserable because they were together for so long, and since topaz was fused constantly it seems they got pretty emotional about it- especially since there was always someone between them. "That's the problem with you fusions. Sooner or later, you all become sentimental." -Aquamarine
I have a question, if going off about Ian Quarteys tweet about gems rarely encountering intelligent life, then why did have to have the need for armies. Couldn't they just drop the injectors on the planet and just produce gems, same thing to have lapis lazuli terrafoem the planet, but why need soldiers exactly?
myles jude well in his tweets he talks about gems rarely encountering intelligent life forms like humans as an example they probably still encountered life forms on those planets just not society building ones probably more monster looking ones like the ones in jungle moon some of which were strong so the creation of soldiers was probably for this reason.
The intelligent life would be more like a wild animal. Not completely braindead, but animalistic. I'm sure a battle would still take place, but the gems would always win for obvious reasons
Well how many gems do you see that are soldiers or army based that aren’t affiliated with any reds or pinks, amethyst, and jasper are purple and orange respectively, and clearly pink was a power house in strength, so wouldn’t it make sense that the gems wouldn’t have even had armies before pink diamond ? And I mean the way that yellow blames her self for letting pink have a colony, and she’s the one we would consider the general in chief type, there seems to be atleast a slight connection.
Aside from monogem fusions (like rubies fusing) the gems you listed are very basic, there would need to be a “tier” lower than that to fuse into the basic ones. Something along the line of pebbles maybe?
By this logic, a Fusion names herself when she sees a similarity between her new form and an existing Gem. Fusion Ruby would have to be formed from 2 or more smaller reddish Gems, for example. Certainly plausible since we know that even the relatively short Ruby is still larger than the Beetles.
Personally, I think the fusions would be much bigger then there counterparts depending on what gems make them up. Think about it this way, if you fuse multiple ruby, you dont get a normal ruby, you get a mega ruby. The same goes for gems making up other gems. For Garnet, you can argue that she is made up of smaller counterparts and just so happens to be the same size of a normal Garnet. But for like, obsidian malachite etc, there bigger because there made of more then two gems, or just really big gems, I feel malachite is kinda big for her components but we are talking about a fictional world here. This is also the same with like, Garnet and Opal, opals components are much bigger then Garnets, therefore she is bigger. Its kinda almost like the one law of matter, that it cannot be created or destroyed, I know there made of light but it kinda works like that. The fusion has two components, therefore more matter, or light to work with, this is also why they have multiple limbs, they have more light matter. So while yes maybe a single malachite is bigger, I dont think that they get as big as a fusion malachite. But that's just my opinion, which God forbid I have, but thanks for coming to my Ted talk
Malachite was in past mentioned that her unnatural size is caused because of how she is unstable with Lapis and Jasper not sharing any emotional connection or just goal. This is also the reason why Malachite did not have her own unique voice but rather Lapis and Jasper's, while other Fusions are made of something that binds them together. Garnet has romantic love, Steg is love between father and son, Opal has more functional use for tasks that Pearl and Amethyst would not be able to do on their own. And ofcourse Bluebird has common goal to destroy Steven, not much of good thing but still, it works.
I’d say alexandrites would be efficient in all terrains, essentially the ultimate worker/fighter, but they would be very recourse-heavy, requiring a lot of specific conditions and materials to actually make their gems
Bu- but... But *STEVEN'S A DIAMOND, NOT A QUARTZ, RIGHT??* I'm sure they just called them like that as a diguise, but it had to have another name. So a Homeworld Smokey Quartz wouldn't be like the one we know, right?
you could technically have diamond versions of most of Steven's fusions. Chocolate Diamond(smokey quartz), Pumpkin Diamond(sunstone), Black Diamond(obsidian), Rainbow Diamond(rainbow quartz) while technically not really a diamond is still a name used for a specific synthetic gem which is kind of fitting since pearls aren't really gems either.
I kind if viewed it as as, because the appearance of a gem has to do a lot with their self concept and Steven always viewed himself as a quartz rather than a diamond, his fusions might have taken form based on his quartz identity. With the exception of smoky quartz one time, Steven's fusions don't specifically utilize his pink diamond powers, and he clearly has some issues with being a diamond in SUF.
Idk if this has been pointed out in a previous video, but a detail I've noticed is that Gems have different hair styles based on their court. I.E. Blue Diamond's Gems have curvy or wavy hair, Yellow Diamond's Gems usually have hairstyles that are more geometric, and Pink Diamond's Gems have big fluffy hair. That's usually what I use as a basis for determining what court a Gem goes to. You can see it in the two Zircons.
I feel like Sardonyxs could be gems for making communication devices or being communicators. Being under Yellow's court, they could inform her armies of an order Yellow intends to give them
This is something I think about all the time, especially where Malachite is concerned! (Long speculatory rambling ahead) We get the sense that these fusions name themselves after forming, based on their counterparts, yes. Smoky Quartz's debut all but solidifies this: "Oh yeah, who am I now? I feel like Amethyst knows this. ...I think a Rose Quartz and an Amethyst make a..." But this video makes me realize that it wasn't some kind of Crystal Gem creation, this cross-gem identification. I was always confused by how quickly Lapis (in control of Malachite) named them before sinking into the ocean. She knew what to call them because she knew what their statuses combined to become. But this does make me wonder... is that chosen name a quick label on her part, as that of a monster? Real-world malachites are toxic in water, and have a lot of significance historically but aren't really as prevalent now, not in the way they were. The same could be argued to be the case with Malachites of Homeworld, a likely-beastly soldier that they don't make anymore, but that everyone knows about as being "monstrous". Lapis and Jasper having the self-image issues that they do, combined and made Lapis feel like a monster she's only heard about in Homeworld's history. Obviously because Gems live very long lives... this might be a bit of a stretch? But there's something to it all!
Finally someone mentions the single gem fusions! I’ve been waiting for someone to talk about this topic because Unleash The light made me very curious.
Questions I have: 1: would the fusion between a rose quartz and amethyst etc. Be the same when pink fused with them? 2: what are the laws of fusion design and kind of gem as a result? 3: what’s fluorite unfused? 4: can a Smokey Quartz is etc. Still be their own gem without being a fusion or an alternate version of the gem? 5: if two different colors of the same gem fuse would they just be those colors mixed? Example: blue sapphire and padparacha would make purple sapphire 6: is there more canon gem lore we don’t know about?
I have had the question of what could happen if EVERY SINGLE GEM IN EXISTENCE were to fuse. I had the idea of calling it a "world fusion" because I think it would've been so massive that it could be its own sentient planet. That's assuming that it can hold together and exist as one, of course.
They could make a canon spin off about steven universe future. Other gems and humans, forming relationships, and creating more gem hybrids, and steven has to come back to guide the hybrids through their new powers and experience gemhood
I think creating a new gem human hybrid would be kinda impossible for other gems other than the diamonds cause i think the reason a gem could create a human hybrid is if they have the ability to create life and as we all know only the diamonds are able to create life since their liquid essence is use to create gems
i'm making a knockoff version called Grant! thas my name! my profile's is my brother's name. anyway, my knockoff hasn't came out yet but it's a version with no gems, but metals! and me, my dad, and my mom, can turn from human to metal! cool, right?
I want a prequel series in era 1 following different gems each episode being unhappy with their surroundings and the order of things, but they’re scared to tell anyone how they feel. This way we could meet rhodonite and her components, morganite, topaz, and many other new and returning characters. Idk I think this would be a fun series to give us gem lore and answers.
Hold up i may be crazy but hear me out: Snowflake obisidian dig up snow trenches but why was she on earth? For the war on a snowy place. And wheres a snowy place on earth? Russia. I think that maybe the giant hole on whats supposed to be russia is a result of the war maybe something to do with the gem structure in the middle of the hole, a weapon of sorts to fight a war in russia that ended up with a explosion that ended with that hole Not very liked but who knows
Since jaspers are soldiers meant for fighting gems and maybe even other life forms, and lapises are terraformers meant to prepare planets for colonies... maybe that means malachites "terraform" life, maybe exterminators
My theory about Rainbow Quartzes are that they are caretakers and teachers for young gems. Kinda teaching young gems (like royalty maybe? Pink?) how to act and how to behave.
This actually kind of matches up with my own OCs! My OC, which I came up with just before Hit the Diamond, was Citrine, basically a smaller version of Jasper, and utilized in a similar way as Rubies, but for lower-ranking dignitaries, such as Homeworld Garnets. In my 'story', she fuses with Peridot, and they become Emerald (again, this is before Lars even died). For me, it was just a fun little way I could 'insert' myself into the show, and have fun with my own creativity. Emerald was supposed to be brash and unapologetic, blunt, and while knowing plenty about technology, knew little about people. My Emerald struggled a little with self-worth because both Citrine and Peridot were so used to Era 2 and Homeworld customs, therefore holding little value of themselves until coming to terms with their worth on Earth. Emerald would tend to inflate herself to make other people think she was more important, while on the inside hoping they wouldn't realise how little she mattered. Homeworld Emerald seems to have an inflated sense of herself as well, but only because she really is that valued on Homeworld. My own version of Emerald had similar style appearances. Most of this was pure coincidence, and now I just love my Emerald even more.
I feel like if Snowflake Obsidian is an ice Gem, regular Obsidian could reasonably be a fire Gem. Fusion Obsidian definitely relies on the fire element, so I feel like it would be very similar to Snowflake but with fire.
I would like to also try and figure out at what point a gem is considered a separate gem versus simply an alternate color. It seems a little random what types of Crystal gems belong to the same "clade" and which don't. Rubies and Sapphires are both corundums yet they are WAY apart in status and function. On the other hand Padparasha is more or less like sapphire in appearance. Aquamarine, Emerald and Bixbite are all beryls but again, they are all VERY different in roles and appearance (even factoring in for the fact Bixbite is still semi corrupted)* Carnelian looks a lot like a red version of Amethyst, even though, as a chalcedony she should actually look most like the agates (like Holly Blue and Crazy Lace or like Sardonyx (since carnelian and sard are almost the same stone). * This one has always been of particular interest to me as for a story I needed to work out what a heliodor (yellow beryl) would look like. I went with a yellow version of Aquamarine (this has some support as in one of the audiences listening to Steven in the movie there is what looks like a yellow aquamarine shaped crystal gem holding hands with a purple one (who I assume is just Purple Beryl)
I think saying Hessonite Demantoid and Pyrope are single gem versions of our Garnet is changing whats actually true. Garnet is a type of gem, but also a family of gems. So Demantoid and Pyropes ARE garnets, but at the same time they are not the SAME garnets, which can still be a comparison. They are similar, being leaders, straightforward, and have Afros but our Garnet is different.
I like most of this but I think the train of thought you had with the smaller gems worked best like I don't see malachite as a huge gem or alexandrite or even sugilite. Malachite I can see being the boss of a blue diamond squad of lapis like gems and blue quartz like gems. Their jobs would be to both terraform land and water. I could easily see alexandrite being a high commander of sorts and a weapons specialist. A gem for multiple types of missions. Right under them raging sugilites they work under alexandrite's command and are purely muscle used to take down massive structures or cause devastation quickly. Think the Oozaru form the Saiyan's take in dragon ball Z. Extra: I can picture Sardonyx to be managerial gems that see to it everyone is on task and they are treated like public spinels just kinda there to keep good times and the fun going along...I see these gems being similar in size and contrast to Zircons
My idea for Alexandrite is that she would do a "special purpose" for the diamonds and is an elite gem. They are able to own pearls or rubies if they show their loyalty to the diamonds.
To everyone crying that Steven universe is over Rebecca and the crewniverse are not cancelling the show altogether they are taking a few years as a break before they pick anything else up with the show
"Happily waiting All on my own Under the endless sky Counting the seconds Standing alone As thousands of years go by Happily wondering Night after night Is this how it works? Am I doing it right? Happy to listen Happy to stay Happily watching her drift away"
I think sardonyx would be like a spinel a comedian jester like gem but also a body guard like your friend who protects you for diplomatic gems who aren't so cold and bitter and makes life just a little better or they could be like an actual comedian or a talk show host for quartz to watch on breaks or diamonds when they're down
It would be so awesome 2 have a Star Wars scale storytelling from all sides of gem life and culture exploring the possibilities and expanding their "Universe". Imagine Lars story and adventures, the actual gem war and what lead up to it, and my favorite adult Steven with complete mastery of his gem abilities and a stablish relationship with Connie. Sneeple and the creation of the first gem
"Does that call herself, a garnet?" -blue diamond so like where do the crystal gems get their fusion names? there had to be single gems with those names on homeworld.
Simple (obvious) purpose for sunstone : heat frozen planets in order to remove watee/make water available for lapis lazuli in order to make the colony.
As a hard core sci-fi fan, I got sucked into this fandom/metaverse, but often went hungry waiting for those bites of insight (amid all of the "crew" interpretation of emotional development)...you're nicely filling in some of those gaps for me with your pondering; thank you.
I would love to learn more about the world of Steven universe, but if they do more with the show I hope the take it form someone else’s perspective other and not just be stuck in that person. Because the story couldn’t move without Steven being present between the original series and Future we get weird lapses in communication and off screen character development that just doesn’t line up with wat we’ve been shown or told. That and it just bothers me that it took Steven to bring about a change in everyone and without him the cast was incapable of just talking to each other.
One thing I wouldve really like to have seen would be steven letting pearl talk to room rose. Even though everything the room creates is limited to stevens knowledge, it seems like rose is actually herself in the room, which makes sense. I think seeing pearl talk to room rose would have been good for her character arch
Some gems don't have to be solely combat-based. Our Opal is a fighter, but she's predominantly a fusion about balance and inner peace. So maybe Opal's could be meditator gems helping gems become centered or rearrange their inner light. That or Opal's could literally be large pillars that keep the balance for gem temples and sanctuaries. Rainbow Quartz gems could be ultimate quartzes used for bigger battles. They could have light-based powers like White. If anyone remembers Cheeseburger Backpack, there was a gem statue of a gem that looks like a Moonstone. SO,,,, maybe Moonstones and Sunstones are deity beings similar to the Diamonds. Having ties to light and fire and gaining their powers from moons and stars like the Sun. Giant fusions like Malachite, Alexandrite, and Sugilite could have different sizes and builds for certain skills. I can definitely see Alexandrite being a researcher for stars and planets, and Malachite gems could be gems that deteriorate old structures and buildings. As for Sugilites, they could be pint-sized fighters with large weapons. Picture one of the trolls from Trolls carrying a huge axe.
We need a console/steam release for the Steven universe games. Maybe a bundle? Also, does this mean that gems can fuse into pearls and such. We see as you add more gems it gets stronger, if you add enough gems will it eventually get to a diamond? The theoretical peak of gem kind?
I always thought that the single gem equivalents didn't necessarily have the same body type but same characteristics, like coloring, things like freckles etc.
I think it’s possible that some of the multi-gem fusions and large fusions like malachite might have a home world equivalent that’s smaller and more close to a quartz soldier or other homeworld gems we’ve seen. They could have some of the same powers but more toned-down, or they could have completely different powers.
For the single gem equivalent rainbow quartz desaturating theory Pink pearl was under White’s control for about 8,000 years without poofing and her leggings are slightly lighter than before the controlling. My theory is that if a gem is under White Diamond’s control for a long time they would lose color. (Sorry If this was already said)

I was super confused for a second after reading the title
Mee too
So was i. This blew my mind bc i didnt think of a garnet being anything other than a fusion.
@@patrikmacek121 Smoky was Steven's first gem fusion
@StormyD186 Sounds Reasonable, now it makes me want to see the origins of the diamonds and the rise of the gem empire
myles jude well in his tweets he talks about gems rarely encountering intelligent life forms like humans as an example they probably still encountered life forms on those planets just not society building ones probably more monster looking ones like the ones in jungle moon some of which were strong so the creation of soldiers was probably for this reason.
The intelligent life would be more like a wild animal. Not completely braindead, but animalistic. I'm sure a battle would still take place, but the gems would always win for obvious reasons
Injectors ruin resources and they might be expensive
It's just a theory though :T
Well how many gems do you see that are soldiers or army based that aren’t affiliated with any reds or pinks, amethyst, and jasper are purple and orange respectively, and clearly pink was a power house in strength, so wouldn’t it make sense that the gems wouldn’t have even had armies before pink diamond ? And I mean the way that yellow blames her self for letting pink have a colony, and she’s the one we would consider the general in chief type, there seems to be atleast a slight connection.
Could the opossite situation be true? A fusion that becomes a Jasper, a ruby or a Sapphire
Mario Cruno Yeah definitely
For singular Sugilites, picture a small pint-sized Sugilite (the size of a troll from Trolls) carrying large weapons for fighting in arenas lmaoo
I was just writing out the same exact thing, but your explanation is so much better lol
Light isn’t matter, it’s energy, the more gems that fuse the energy is able to produce a larger light hologram.
JimNatale omg that is the perfect explanation as to why fusions can be so much larger than their components. It also really seems emotional too.
I've been thinking about this for a while now I'm glad that roundtable finally got on it as well

So what your saying is that Sardonyx implies gem talk shows, reality TV, and game shows?
yes.
Amethyst's a quartz though, so that problem already fixed.
The crystal gems were awesome
and still are
And will always be

Idk if this has been pointed out in a previous video, but a detail I've noticed is that Gems have different hair styles based on their court. I.E. Blue Diamond's Gems have curvy or wavy hair, Yellow Diamond's Gems usually have hairstyles that are more geometric, and Pink Diamond's Gems have big fluffy hair. That's usually what I use as a basis for determining what court a Gem goes to. You can see it in the two Zircons.
It’s confirmed Pyrope is a Kyoshi Warrior

I'm happy that people are still making videos about Steven universe even thought the show is over
Everyone: Being a Pearl must be the worst, they’re servants!
The literal wall Gems: Ha. Amateurs.
I feel like Sardonyxs could be gems for making communication devices or being communicators. Being under Yellow's court, they could inform her armies of an order Yellow intends to give them
Stevonie and steg are Incredibly special due to being wholey unique along with the cluster
6:51 Plus most "rainbow" gems are white or very light pink in real life _e.g._ rainbow moonstone.
I do love how the more toxic or unstable gems had more naturally monstrous appearances.
I wish we saw the Garnets in the show

We technically did because of when nephorite was telling Steven what happened to her.
This is something I think about all the time, especially where Malachite is concerned! (Long speculatory rambling ahead)
We get the sense that these fusions name themselves after forming, based on their counterparts, yes.
FINALLY! SOMEBODY ELSE NOTICED THE WHITE GEM IN A SINGLE PALE ROSE!
DiamondNeko2020 There were also many unique gem silhouettes in flashbacks, like when Lapis became the mirror and ruby and sapphire fled their court.
Finally someone mentions the single gem fusions! I’ve been waiting for someone to talk about this topic because Unleash The light made me very curious.
I’d totally buy a book just explaining the gems pre era 3 roles.
It sucks how we won’t get any of our questions about other Homeworld gems or other stuff in general about Steven Universe, because it ended. :(
Rebecca can confirm stuff
Its not over the crewniverse is taking a few years break
Questions I have:
1: would the fusion between a rose quartz and amethyst etc.
Example: blue sapphire and padparacha would make purple sapphire
6: is there more canon gem lore we don’t know about?
I have had the question of what could happen if EVERY SINGLE GEM IN EXISTENCE were to fuse. I had the idea of calling it a "world fusion" because I think it would've been so massive that it could be its own sentient planet. That's assuming that it can hold together and exist as one, of course.
that would be insanely unstable and probably wouldn't last. also that's pretty much the cluster lol
They could make a canon spin off about steven universe future. Other gems and humans, forming relationships, and creating more gem hybrids, and steven has to come back to guide the hybrids through their new powers and experience gemhood
but didn't rose die giving birth to steven? it's pretty depressing to think that the momma gem is going to die off to give birth
@@ZorkSolid thats life for ya :(
Nah, I think Steven would stay on the road and continue with his on life. It would be a perfect oopportunity to open up to new characters

I still wanna see Lapidot or Paris. Whatever Lapis and Peridot name their fuse.
"Paris" oui oui.
I think that only two gem fusions should have single gem proxies. I think that would makes more sense.
Wait so there’s a single gem version of all the crystal gem fusions or different colours of the crystal gem fusions
Steven Universe is a show that could've done fan service mixed in with the plot for a season versus SVTFOE.
star vs the forces of evil when we have probably about a total of 40 queens of mewni as in adding 26 unknown queens and 14 KNOWN queens.
Hold up i may be crazy but hear me out:
Snowflake obisidian dig up snow trenches but why was she on earth? For the war on a snowy place. And wheres a snowy place on earth? Russia. I think that maybe the giant hole on whats supposed to be russia is a result of the war maybe something to do with the gem structure in the middle of the hole, a weapon of sorts to fight a war in russia that ended up with a explosion that ended with that hole
Not very liked but who knows
She was a crystal gem
Since jaspers are soldiers meant for fighting gems and maybe even other life forms, and lapises are terraformers meant to prepare planets for colonies... maybe that means malachites "terraform" life, maybe exterminators
A Steven Universe What If? series sounds absolutely cool!
I was always under the impression that White Diamond's court is all of gem kind
2:00 is just. Realized. A peridot. With square hair. SQUAIRIDOTTTT
Lol
And related to how real life obsidian is formed.
I've been thinking about this for years. It's so interesting
0:30 with a butter understanding
I could see sunstones taking a frontline role as being incendiary grenadiers, using their fire powers to decimate enemy defenses.
Nice !!! I love the designs

I hope they make a Reboot of Steven Universe,I really want that to happen🤞
Glad Penguin Art Thanks for that
Some gems don't have to be solely combat-based.
How do you feel about them butchering Jasper's character
We need a console/steam release for the Steven universe games. Maybe a bundle? Also, does this mean that gems can fuse into pearls and such. We see as you add more gems it gets stronger, if you add enough gems will it eventually get to a diamond? The theoretical peak of gem kind?

Steven Universe Lore? The heck is that?
