Makes sense she's as strong as she is
1. She's an era 1 gem. (They don't make em' like they used to)
2. As stated in the movie, her cut is perfect, meaning she's made flawlessly.
3. Spinel gems are regal gems, so I can only assume they'd be made of the best resources.
Plus, she has been made for Pink and her only. They wouldn't gave her an "average" gem. That's like Pearl. Pearl is a "fancy one" the best of the batch I guess. Same with the Diamonds' Pearls

About Pink- well, I wouldn't really call her the worst and most evil character either, we don't know what she tought when she left Spinel ( I'm pretty sure the reason why she left her was more than just "Oh buuh, I got bored of her. I just gonna left her then." ). I don't like the fact that the other diamonds shattered a lot of gems and it's all okay and fine because they said sorry while Pink just left Spinel ( what is bad, don't get me wrong ) and she is a heartless fricking monster. None of the diamonds are perfect and most of them get a chance to be seen in a different light.

Theory, a scythe is basically a Death Metal Baton. Spinel knowing how to spin a baton and do tricks with one for entertainment is perfectly feasible.
That doesn't make much sense. Entertainers use things like batons and swords in flashy ways to catch the attention of the public and, well, entertain them, which goes directly against the simplistic, but very effective, approach of melee combat.

That makes sense. Also for all we know, Spinel could've "play-fighted" with Pink and PRETENDED some such baton was a scythe. Nobody expected for Spinel to turn evil. Also, I like to think that the injector and rejuvenator both belonged to Pink, she just never used them. If course being her former best friend, Spinel likely had easy access to Pink's stuff.

In my opinion, the best powers and weapons are those that weren't originally meant to do harm. Spinel's elastic powers were meant to be fun and to createjoy but she turned it into a weapon XD
Then u have scythes which I guess are mean't to be farm tools but people see them as a sign of death or something like that now from what I read from random comments xD

I put Speed and Range to S and Durability to A because spinels have a Moh's Hardness of 7.5 - 8 which is better than garnets.

It seems like gems that aren't made for fighting tend to be some of the strongest: Lapis, Bismuth, Spinel, etc. Even Pearl shows signs of this

@@lelduck6388 My theory, the old Diamond Authority was so narrow minded in regards to the potential of some gems that they missed the hidden utility. For example, if we were to use our Pearl as a base for other pearls (like yellow and blue), she's loyal, graceful, has great attention for detail and memory. The DA came to the conclusion that this makes them well suited as servants to noble gems. But as we've seen with our Pearl, these same traits also make for good technicians and sword masters (and in Blue Pearls case an artist). This potential was ether ignored or missed however, as it might not be as efficient in their mind.
Inversely, a lot of Quartz soldiers are surprisingly weak, with Garnet supposedly taking out an entire squad.

I think they overlooked that non fighting gems would overthrow them, only thinking those they fight could be a threat, so they made all the other gems pretty powerful. Spinel might have had the rejuvenator to be a last guard against pink and the biopoison could be from the garden in case something ever happened.

I think her being specifically made to be a playmate for Pink definitely influences her durability and strength. She was made to be a toy for a powerful gem prone to temper tantrums... she's gotta be tough and/or flexible otherwise it's not a good investment.

If I had to guess how Spinel got the injector. She used to be Pink Diamond's closest gem, so it could be possible she knew some access codes or private locations where she could get her gear.
I suspect Homeworld gems unhappy with Steven's reformations took the opportunity to point a useful patsy (Spinel) in Steven's direction and equipped her with the tools to cause havoc. I don't think the Diamonds showing up right after everything was resolved was coincidental. I bet they couldn't oppose Steven directly so they were hoping Spinel would take him out. I don't think the Diamonds are really reformed.
My guess is that Yellow and Blue wanted to support Pink with her first colony. In the message we see in Spinel's flashback, Yellow looks like she would really support Pink in her endeavors.
So maybe Yellow already had some Injectors and Rejuvinators prepared for usage. Pink, of course, told her Best Friend Spinel about that. But they just never were used.
Everyone forgot about it exept Spinel. With the warp pad in the garden she got to Homeworld, she sneaked in the base and stole them and took course for earth.
And about the heart shaped top of the injector. I think it was a pink diamond originally. Spinel could have just cut it to form. Therse Rejuvinators are SHARP. And Spinel is very strong.
We also never really saw the core of the top. I think there might have been a cockpit in it. Under the point where Steven was holding up to Spinel's Mega 3rd gear punch.
With that structure she could have cut the diamand into a heart without worrying about cutting any important connections of the Injector.
Then it would also make sense how she got to earth, in a cockpit, in a ship/Injector.
Makes sense, the diamonds had EVERYTHING (including injectors) for earth but they were never used🤷♂️since she started the rebellian
That could explain the weapon too. It could've been issued to Pink Diamond but she never wielded it and left it behind.
@@tonyforshyr9381 there were a lot of injectors when colonzing the Earth, so i'd only assume she got it from homeworld, and the rejuvenator. This is my theory, I think whenever spinel messes up entertaining Pink, pink will grab the rejuvenator and hide it, idk.

I love how most ordinary gems in the show are even more powerful than gems who were born as fighter, had been trained in the military for years and had tons of experience in fighting lol

Experience is one thing but a lot of the crystal gems are lot built for battle and we know first gen gem are stronger but Amethyst is a fighter but over cooked, Ruby is a fighter but normally one of many and Sapphire is not. So Garnet is a fighter but not perfect pearl had to train to be a fighter. So yeah Spinal matches all of that just someone who learned to fight
Yeah- Jasper is like, the only gem from the empire who shows the strength of their militia.
Other than that we got ruby- (but even then they're kinda weak, especially if they're alone)
and hessonite from the games.
Otherwise we haven't actually seen how strong their military was and probably never will 💀

for example, you call a car a "car", not "engine plus transmission plus metal, etc", because it doesn't make sense to call a thing that is whole by the names of it's parts.
Ruby and Sapphire were fused at the time, so they were Garnet. if they weren't fused, they would be Ruby and Sapphire.
Imagine a fusion between Spinel and Jasper? Jasper's durability and strength combined with Spinel's agility and elasticity has some serious potential if combined.

The core Crystal Gems hadn't fought in a while, but Spinel's twirling of the Rejuvenator implies she's practiced recently. Also, it's clear she's more powerful when she takes advantage of her elasticity and fights creatively, as she easily overwhelms the Crystal Gems by doing this in the Other Friends fight, but seems evenly matched with just Steven when she doesn't, just using simple punches and the tornado thing, in the final fight. Why she didn't in the final fight is probably because she planned out the Other Friends fight(implied by how she sings throughout it) but was just trying to release her anger and didn't have planning time for the final fight. So, if the Crystal Gems had practiced/fought more before the fight and Spinel fought less unorthodoxly, it's possible they could've beat her easily.

I think the reason Spinel was also so powerful was because she had a lot of legitimate rage inside her. Her aggression was actually just a cover for hurt and she wanted others to hurt like she was. That's a pretty big motivator, and that's probably what gave her a lot of her power. I'm also sure Spinel is very durable too since Pink Pearl was broken by Pink Diamond having a tantrum, so it would make sense that Pink's 'toy' would have to be very durable and able to withstand those tantrums. Perhaps Spinel was given to Pink after she broke her first Pearl. Like giving a Rottweiler a super strong Kong to chew on after it shreds it's first toy, Pink Diamond needed herself a durable toy to withstand her moods.
The reason why Spinel’s kicks are weaker than her punches is because of the fact that her legs are tired after standing still for 6000 years in the garden.
The very first clue for me that she's strong/powerful as hell was when she palm striked the injector while monologuing and it sounded like it rattled the whole fucking thing. Considering she's the size of a pea compared to it, that's saying something. On a sidenote, it was actually revealed that shes an era 1 gem as well as a perfect cut so she's pretty much a prime example of her kind.

Considering Spinel was made to be Pink Diamond's best friend, Pink could've casually given her info about all her different belongings and where they're held, without thinking much of it because nobody expected Spinel to go hostile. Said belongings would consist of not only the rejuvenator but the injector as well. Besides, I looked at the rejuvenator, and it's not shaped like a heart or anything, it's simply colored pink. It could've very well belonged to Pink considering she's a diamond. I don't see why they would've given a rejuvenator of all things to someone basically meant to be a toy. I simply think it was Pink's and that Spinel took it for herself before her attack.

That weapon she used was able to take away Stevens powers and he’s a diamond. I’m pretty sure it’ll work on the other diamonds as well.

I feel like since Spinel is known as the quinticential (not sure how to spell that lol) 'fake Ruby' and Ruby's are guards and pink diamond would have been very stifled and agitated and of course resisted a classic guard.. that Spinel was most likely a personal guard special made for pink diamond. This would mean she was *meant* to be clingy and goofy both to entertain and always be the last line of defense besides pearl of pink diamond. This would explain why she had a weapon. To reset anyone who might trouble the diamond and weild it so well. She also likely had clearance to without notice snag something big like that poison injector as well as pink diamond being irritated and not being able to have Spinel come if she were wanting to be away from her or keep secrets.
The poison also could probably be used to delete all the natural life on a planet so they could replant new stuff and make stupid places like a garden and that's it but it's its own planet.

Her speed and reaction time are also super impressive considering she went up against someone with future vision and they still couldn't react in time to her attacks.
This could be just comedic timing but when Amethyst is staring directly at Spinel when pulling Steven back and then Spinel pops out behind her *without either of them noticing her move,* that seems to indicate she can move faster than the eye can see (or at least when it would be appropriately funny).
I honestly can't see Lapis beating her unless they're literally standing in the ocean or something just because of that speed advantage and how frail Lapis is. Without a way to negate that, Spinel could just dodge past all of Lapis' *relatively* slow AoE attacks and take her out with either a punch or the scythe.
I think Bismuth or Peridot might have the best chance, actually, since Bismuth is more experienced against shapeshifting tricks while Peridot has a lot of disjointed attacks and potential drone support that can pin her down unlike the melee fighters or Lapis' water slams.

With some training she most certainly wouldve been one of the strongest crystal gems had Pink brought her.
She's super fast and is great at handling weapons.

I think she is stronger than lapis, a "gear third" punch of her could easily break through a giant ice punch of lapis and so on, she is very creative using her elastic powers
Spinel wouldn't really be able to fight the Water Clones seeing as how they are even more elastic than her without the Gem weak spot.
Not to mention Lapis's water fists have shown far greater strength than Spinel sending Jasper flying for miles and pinning Garnet to the ground.

and Garnet not only eaisly overpowered Spinnel twice in a single fight but we also saw that Garnet was strong enough to punch a mountain in half in the opening seconds of Monster buddies.
As we have seen with Lapis her water constructs are more than capable of replicating that strength even without turning into ice.
Heck all Lapis needs to do is make a Spinel clone and then Spinel would be stuck fighting a more powerful version of herself with none of her weakneses as well as extra abilities like cloning and regeneration.
Spinel may be a more skilled fighter but that is litterally her only advantage.

During true kinda love spinel was just chasing steven and not paying attention to the othee gems, thats why she lost that fight
Lapis has control of the entire earth’s water. It took 3 non-elemental gems to take advantage of Spinel’s stretchiness. Spinel doesn’t have shit on Lapis
If you pause when Steven is being thrown in the air at the right time. The expression on his face is phenomenal.
All of Spinel's skills and fighting abilities come from her purpose of being PD perfect friend. She was made to be an entertainer and used her knowledge about games like tag to dodge, spinning a baton to spin the Rejuvenator and using acrobatics to jump around were things she was made for so she didn't even need to try during the fight.
You know I wonder if she had that rejuvenator on her even when she was just Pink's playmate kind of a last line of defense encase someone took a crack at Pink "the heart of the Diamonds" cause I didn't see any other gems around when they were at the garden.

She's island level,scaling from Garnet and the fact that she can more or less almost destroy the injectior,which splits the clouds just with its presence(to split the clouds at that scale is actually very hard and takes mountain/island level amount of power)
The injector was sensitive as peridot said, so not sure how well that works ad a feat

I think she would have the highest durability since she can stretch and be squished a lot better than other gems she’s still easy to one shot with destablizers and rejuvenaters but these one shot other gems too as for attack I think she is not inflating her hands with air but making them grow gems naturally adjust to the planet they are on so she’s just ignoring that and increasing her mass to increase her power output
That makes sense, the diamond could have made spinel to be durable in case of rough play. (Probably didn’t happen, but we did see spinel shake Steven so rough play could have gone both ways in a playful fashion, think some derped wrestling) Her durability is probably next to a diamond. Her stretchiness is probably her greatest power.
I also think she was given the rejuvenated in order to protect pink diamond if she was attacked in the garden. Maybe the biopoison was also for the garden. Or maybe spinel got with some bad Steven hater gems who had that stuff.

Spinel seems to be a one-of-a-kind created specifically for Pink. This would put her on a higher rank than practically all other non-diamond gems, which are mass-produced. That is probably why she is so stronk.
Strong enough to be an antagonist longer than White Diamond, the most powerful gem of all. :^) (Though to be fair I think that goes for every antagonist in the series, Frybo included.)

It's been demonstrated more than a few times that Gems often have untested powers. Peridot is a major example of a gem that was thought to be inferior, but in reality had latent abilities that could be nurtured and grow. It makes sense that someone who was never intended to EVER be weaponized like Spinel would have unexpectedly strong powers.
Honestly I think one of spinels best strength has to be her unpredictability making her hard to hit

Rebecca sugar explained how spinel got the drill and the rejuvenator in a q&a. Sugar says when spinel was at the garden she uses the space portal to travel back to home world and being pink's friend and being at he side she had access to all that stuff especially when pink was terra forming and being in charge of a colony, pink already had those equipment.
Her strength is contrived and inconsistent for the sake of narrative before mechanisms. One minute she solos the entirety of the gems, the next minute she gets casually flung around by the gems.
Power scaling doesn't work when the systems at play are inconsistent.

I honestly think it makes sense. In the first 'bout the gems are surprised, and Spinel was probably treating it like a game, therefore she was able to completely smash the gems. In the second bout she was actually *fightning* them, you see the punches and other things, and she wasn't made to fight. Also the gems now know her abilities and everything, so i'd guess it makes sense for them to win against spinel
She is really not meant for combat but still she is strong if trained she can do better but thats not important because she came for answer
