Weakness: could only poof the crystal gems with a weapon Spinel: Strengths: more durable (she was a diamond's toy and she is an 8 on the mohs scale), she has better range than Jasper, can dodge attacks. Weakness: her trauma gets in the way of fights, could only beat the crystal gems with a weapon. Though spinel has more weaknesses, she also has more strengths than Jasper so I think it's fair to say that she'd win. And if they fought with weapons, I honestly don't really know who'd win. I think it would still be Spinel since she has access to Pink Diamond's weapons (how she got rejuvenator and injector) and she seems more skilled at wielding weapons.
However thinking of that jasper could do to Spinel what she did to Amethyst and turn her emotions against her and as spinel is emotionally valuable just poof her other than spinel still wins

I think Spinel would win, but if they were to have a rematch Jasper would win. Why? Because we see that exact thing happen in the movie. The crystal gems lose horribly in the first fight, but win the second time around. This isn’t just because Spinel lost the rejuvenator, because we see in the Other Friends fight that she could beat them even without it. It’s because in Other Friends, they didn’t know what Spinel was capable of, so she was able to outsmart them, but in True Kinda Love, they learned, and found a way to use Spinel’s elasticity against her. Jasper is a lot of things, but I don’t think she’s stupid. I think she could definitely learn to defeat Spinel in the same way.
Mr. Cup thing is would it make a difference if there were multiple gems? Because on the 2nd fight with spinel and the crystal gems, they were able to defeat her using distractions and team work, and that alone can't even poof spinel, well unless if there's no time limit, and and injector. Mr. Cup There was a part where Spinel was juggling bubbles with Pink, but maybe it was Pink’s. If that wouldn’t work, she could possibly maybe keep Jasper in her body because how flexible her body is, a gem can’t reform without enough space.

Spinel isn't just some toy, why would a Diamond - the 'youngest' and probably most vulnerable one too - be left alone with only one other gem? I have reason to believe Spinel is a top-notch elite super-bodyguard engineered specifically for Pink, with the facade of a bubbly entertainer.
Hopefully Bismuth can make her a scythe or something. It’d be so cool to see her skills with it again! Or some new kind of weapon since Spinel technically never showed if she has an actual weapon or not. She’s an era 1 gem and who’s to say the Diamonds didn’t want to give Pink extra protection?

I've always said that it's weird how a Gem created for playing is the best gem for combat and strength, and being the most durable, makes me wonder how no one thought of bringing them to the Gem War, unless Spinel is the 1 and only, or they just didn't know. They would have won easily with just 3-5 Spinels and I don't even wanna think about the damage that could be done if they fused.
Gems are made only for one purpose; any emergent properties are ignored. Until Garnet, never had a sapphire been used for battle. But future vision makes a Ruby a more formidable warrior then even the ultimate quartz. Peridots are only for kindergarten work, despite being formidable with limb enhancers and ferrokenisis.
Although, I still believe Spinel would win because of her range and her speed, in the context of the show I don't think Spinel has a higher durability since she was never intended for fighting. Although, Spinel is described to be a perfect cut too, Jasper is *PERFECT* for fighting which isn't something we shouldn't put lightly, even if Spinel did have a higher durability than *MOST* Jaspers (and other quartz soldiers) I still doubt her having a higher durability than *OUR* Jasper. Spinel vs jasper who would win. Spinel, hands down. With or without weapons, Jasper is a close range fighter that can get in close with her spine move, but spinel is a flexible and unpredictable fighter being able to run circles around jasper and landing multiple hits. Jasper can grab her arm, spine dash on spinel and slow her down so jasper can land some heavy hits. But spinel can easily stop her, because when ever she do her move she's like a flying rocket with a lot of power and mass and like a rocket if you can throw a rocket off on it's side even a little it's a 100% miss and spinel can do this with a round house punch. Spinel overpowers jasper in hand to hand combat. And with spinel weapon, it won't be a fight.
Really flawed logic, Predicting spinels defensive properties is impossible considering we haven’t seen her in the defensive side but a gem that wasn’t created with the purpose of fighting wouldn’t have a high poof threshold. If jasper can literally pull a gem out a couple of solid punches I fnot a head but would poof spinel. The rejuvenater would definitely beat jasper though.

Why Jasper would win; Spinel fought against RUSTY Crystal Gems while also getting the element of surprise. Jasper on the other hand was brawling against Crystal Gems who weren't basically vacationing for two years. Things do get fuzzy when considering Timeskip Steven seems to have mastered a whole new arsonel of abilities, but he might also not have a whole ton of practice since I doubt he'd have to fight or even train much in the new Era.

Spinell didn't stand a chance against the normal Steven, while Jasper easily beat Steven Pink and faced Steven Pink after a hard workout, and she was still stronger and more resistant, and even broke the shield with a normal punch, Spinell wouldn't stand a chance

Making a seperate post from my other. Why Jasper would win: The second the Crystal Gems got their second wind and knew what was going on, they were absolutely wreaking Spinel. Steven wasn't even really trying by the final brawl, he was technically in control of the fight. And honestly, I'm pretty sure Jasper was really just making fun of Amythest before poofing her. Rubbing salt in the wounds basically.
Chaos Yeah but Jasper never met Spinel so in the first fight Spinel would win but there is a high chance Jasper will win on the second round although Jasper would have to throw Spinel a lot since she is more durable. Plus, Spinel is probably faster than Jasper. Also it is just 1 v 1 not 4 (or 5) v 1. They got their second win because they were using teamwork, unlike last time so that lowers Jaspers chance of winning IF they fight a second time.
In Fight 2, Garnet also was toying with Jasper and in complete control. She got hit once or twice but in general she was still leading. Then Jasper was totally wrecked by Stevonnie, who’s a Garnet level Fusion. Spinel has the same general route but vs much much stronger characters. Movie Gems with way more experience and such all get one shotted by Spinel + rejuvenation weapon. She reforms, and while going through mental trauma, can’t fight all the gems together. However she legitmately forces Steven on the defensive AT LEAST twice concerning the Gear 4th attack and forcing him into his bubble gloves. Also, an argument is definitely possible that weakened Steven was still stronger than Garnet (IE being able to lift the entire injector, and still being able to overpower spinel)
@@ShaudL Problem is, The Crystal Gems were not on their A-game when Spinel first attacked. Amythest said so herself. Then the CGs getting a second wind while Spinel's resolve weakens a little balanced stuff out. And by the Change song, Steven was clearly holding back while also partly in control of the fight, Spinel couldn't really land a decent hit once Steven got his powers back.
Actually I think that because Pink is fuckin violent as said by Volleyball. The diamonds might've made Spinel and made her to be really durable and capable of fighting just enough to survive if Pink gets too violent and ease her shit a bit with Spinel's playful nature. That's I guess why Spinel is actually really good at fighting.

Perhaps, but Jasper no longer plays by the rules and if she either goes rogue or sides with sinister forces, it's safe to say she won't play fair, nor will other rogue gems. Meanwhile, Spinel, while still unstable, may exercise a little more restraint, at least at first, due to her newfound love for the Crystal Gems and for Steven.
Probably not, but jasper did say she does respect rose's tatics when you know she wanted to kill her and etc, i think she'd at least try to keep it fair for like half the fight and then play dirty, and spinel doesn't exactly play fair either

Her punches won't do any damage at all (Because she literally tanked punches from Pink Steven who is much stronger than She is.) 4: She cant just "Launch" Jasper into the sky because the only reason she was able to throw Steven was because he was just Singing rather than dodging and actually fighting back like Spinel (who was still losing) Jasper would easily escape Spinel's grasp and once Spinel gets caught in her palms she's gonna end up a knot tied to a tree begging for mercy.

I’m still not fully convinced Spinnel would win. Jasper could take the weight of the crashing handship directly on top of her after a battle with Garnet that ended with her being electrocuted. Then the handship exploded and Jasper still did not poof...she was still able to get back up and fight (though she was weakened). Spinnel’s punch just doesn’t seem like it could compare with that durability, even if she did it successfully multiple times. Yeah, the drill was destroyed by the punch but the handship was considerably larger than the drill. Plus, I doubt Spinnel has very many other moves that could possibly harm Jasper considering that Jasper is basically a tank. However, I’ll acknowledge that it would be difficult for a hard hitter like Jasper to get a solid hit in on someone as versatile as Spinnel. If the perimeters of winning were more than just poofing (for example: escaping or tricking the opponent into a trap), Spinnel would win, hands down.
I wouldn’t say RIP her, Jasper is really bulky and touch. But she could definitely knock her down or make Jasper ram into heavy rocks by getting out of her way when she charges

You have a valid point, but i personally think Jasper would win, or at least, not loose. Why? Because i Think that since spinel doesnt have her rejuvinator anymore, she wouldnt be able to poof jasper. Jasper survived a direct hit from an explosion, a Ship Crash, Falling into a Bit tear in the ground, Multiple Hits by many different attacks from many different gems and know exactly how to Tank hits. She could only be poofed with a sharp Metal scrap (wich probably poof anyone besides a diamond). So unless spinel has something like that on her hands, Jasper would easily Tank every hit from spinel. Jasper being able to poof spinel is a completely other thing but i dont go into that because, like everyone already said, Spinel would probably outrun and dodge all of jaspers attacks. Spinel vs jasper who would win. Spinel, hands down. With or without weapons, Jasper is a close range fighter that can get in close with her spine move, but spinel is a flexible and unpredictable fighter being able to run circles around jasper and landing multiple hits. Jasper can grab her arm, spine dash on spinel and slow her down so jasper can land some heavy hits. But spinel can easily stop her, because when ever she do her move she's like a flying rocket with a lot of power and mass and like a rocket if you can throw a rocket off on it's side even a little it's a 100% miss and spinel can do this with a round house punch. Spinel overpowers jasper in hand to hand combat. And with spinel weapon, it won't be a fight.
Really flawed logic, Predicting spinels defensive properties is impossible considering we haven’t seen her in the defensive side but a gem that wasn’t created with the purpose of fighting wouldn’t have a high poof threshold. If jasper can literally pull a gem out a couple of solid punches I fnot a head but would poof spinel. The rejuvenater would definitely beat jasper though.

Why Jasper would win; Spinel fought against RUSTY Crystal Gems while also getting the element of surprise. Jasper on the other hand was brawling against Crystal Gems who weren't basically vacationing for two years.
Things do get fuzzy when considering Timeskip Steven seems to have mastered a whole new arsonel of abilities, but he might also not have a whole ton of practice since I doubt he'd have to fight or even train much in the new Era.

Spinell didn't stand a chance against the normal Steven, while Jasper easily beat Steven Pink and faced Steven Pink after a hard workout, and she was still stronger and more resistant, and even broke the shield with a normal punch, Spinell wouldn't stand a chance

Why Jasper would win: The second the Crystal Gems got their second wind and knew what was going on, they were absolutely wreaking Spinel.
Steven wasn't even really trying by the final brawl, he was technically in control of the fight.
And honestly, I'm pretty sure Jasper was really just making fun of Amythest before poofing her. Rubbing salt in the wounds basically.
Chaos Yeah but Jasper never met Spinel so in the first fight Spinel would win but there is a high chance Jasper will win on the second round although Jasper would have to throw Spinel a lot since she is more durable. Plus, Spinel is probably faster than Jasper. Also it is just 1 v 1 not 4 (or 5) v 1. They got their second win because they were using teamwork, unlike last time so that lowers Jaspers chance of winning IF they fight a second time.
In Fight 2, Garnet also was toying with Jasper and in complete control. She got hit once or twice but in general she was still leading.
Then Jasper was totally wrecked by Stevonnie, who’s a Garnet level Fusion.
Spinel has the same general route but vs much much stronger characters.
Movie Gems with way more experience and such all get one shotted by Spinel + rejuvenation weapon.
She reforms, and while going through mental trauma, can’t fight all the gems together.
However she legitmately forces Steven on the defensive AT LEAST twice concerning the Gear 4th attack and forcing him into his bubble gloves. Also, an argument is definitely possible that weakened Steven was still stronger than Garnet (IE being able to lift the entire injector, and still being able to overpower spinel)

Problem is, The Crystal Gems were not on their A-game when Spinel first attacked. Amythest said so herself.
Then the CGs getting a second wind while Spinel's resolve weakens a little balanced stuff out.
And by the Change song, Steven was clearly holding back while also partly in control of the fight, Spinel couldn't really land a decent hit once Steven got his powers back.
Actually I think that because Pink is fuckin violent as said by Volleyball. The diamonds might've made Spinel and made her to be really durable and capable of fighting just enough to survive if Pink gets too violent and ease her shit a bit with Spinel's playful nature. That's I guess why Spinel is actually really good at fighting.

Meanwhile, Spinel, while still unstable, may exercise a little more restraint, at least at first, due to her newfound love for the Crystal Gems and for Steven.
Probably not, but jasper did say she does respect rose's tatics when you know she wanted to kill her and etc, i think she'd at least try to keep it fair for like half the fight and then play dirty, and spinel doesn't exactly play fair either

She is also more durable than Jasper. Has more range, has more damage doing, assuming they are not using a weapon, Spinel can launch Jasper to the sky like she did with Steven and do her Giant punch thing. She also have better reflexes than Jasper.

2: Range won't do crap to Jasper who can easily dodge Spinel's attacks.
3: She's MUCH MUCH weaker than Jasper. Who was said to be the perfect quartz soldier. Her punches won't do any damage at all (Because she literally tanked punches from Pink Steven who is much stronger than She is.)
4: She cant just "Launch" Jasper into the sky because the only reason she was able to throw Steven was because he was just Singing rather than dodging and actually fighting back like Spinel (who was still losing) Jasper would easily escape Spinel's grasp and once Spinel gets caught in her palms she's gonna end up a knot tied to a tree begging for mercy.

I wanted a spinel vs jasper when I saw the Steven universe future sneak peek
I’m still not fully convinced Spinnel would win. Jasper could take the weight of the crashing handship directly on top of her after a battle with Garnet that ended with her being electrocuted. Then the handship exploded and Jasper still did not poof...she was still able to get back up and fight (though she was weakened). Spinnel’s punch just doesn’t seem like it could compare with that durability, even if she did it successfully multiple times. Yeah, the drill was destroyed by the punch but the handship was considerably larger than the drill. Plus, I doubt Spinnel has very many other moves that could possibly harm Jasper considering that Jasper is basically a tank. However, I’ll acknowledge that it would be difficult for a hard hitter like Jasper to get a solid hit in on someone as versatile as Spinnel. If the perimeters of winning were more than just poofing (for example: escaping or tricking the opponent into a trap), Spinnel would win, hands down.

You have a valid point, but i personally think Jasper would win, or at least, not loose. Why? Because i Think that since spinel doesnt have her rejuvinator anymore, she wouldnt be able to poof jasper. Jasper survived a direct hit from an explosion, a Ship Crash, Falling into a Bit tear in the ground, Multiple Hits by many different attacks from many different gems and know exactly how to Tank hits. She could only be poofed with a sharp Metal scrap (wich probably poof anyone besides a diamond). So unless spinel has something like that on her hands, Jasper would easily Tank every hit from spinel. Jasper being able to poof spinel is a completely other thing but i dont go into that because, like everyone already said, Spinel would probably outrun and dodge all of jaspers attacks.
