The smartest move Titleist has made with the development of these drivers was getting you on board. Your insight is great and the feedback from your many subscribers is worth its weight in gold to Titleist. Great review Mr Crossfield.

Tested the TS2 today down at Eastleigh American Golf, Max looked after me and what a club. I'm up for a change from my Titleist 915, which I bought second hand and this was the first time I have been properly fitted. Max did a thorough job on me and the results were quite amazing, even he was surprised, gained quite a few yards over the 915 and more importantly much better dispersion!
Have placed the order and can't wait to get out there on the course, bring it on.
By the way did try a couple of other drivers but they couldn't match the Titleist, but as you say it may suit me but may not suit others, however if you're up for a change of Driver I'd certainly make sure this is on your list.

Mark, your tie up deal with Titleist really looks like a stroke of genius for both parties. Your content now offers something totally unique that no other golf RUclipsr can even come close to competing with. And Titleist themselves are coming across amazing. Never owned a Titleist driver but when I'm in the market to change, the new TS range will be top of my list to test.

This is a proper review. It deals with all aspects. It highlights the importance of club contracts for guys like Mark as contrary to the sceptics it doesn’t mean we get a bias review but as viewers we get closer to the product and are supplied with much more information. As club reviewing goes, this channel gives the honest and most informative information. It’s not about watching countless pro tracers and loads of launch monitor numbers, as others prefer to provide.

Can I be honest for a second? I've hit a Titleist D2 Driver from the year they came out until 2017. In 2017, I decided to invest a little bit into my game (I was a 4.6 at the time), so I did a lot of research and listened to a few of my trusted experts. A lot of the research and feedback I was getting was for the Taylor Made M1. So, I bought it and gave the D2 to a friend of mine. I should've never left Titleist. I will be re-investing in my game (now a 5.8 after 47 rounds with the TM M1). Why even mess with the rest? I'm going back to Titleist, no doubt. If I don't splurge on the brand new TS2, I'll buy last year's model. Whatever it is, it'll be way straighter than what I now have. What a schmuck I was!

You don’t need to convince us of your integrity Parfield! Your viewers know exactly who you are and that’s why we watch. And honestly, I prefer the look of the ts3 and think that’s the cleaner look. I’m very much looking forward to my fitting in November.

Not really MC's fault that he might feel the need to reiterate that message. Remember there are plenty of people who down right want him to be bias so they can whack away on their keyboards...the message has to be clear for all, including the new comers and the keybpard bashers. In short...yes it is a shame but perhaps a necessary evil.

How many golfers are going to stand on the tee with trouble left and right and call the draw/fade and pull it off! Mark,
I play the TS 3and I was custom fitted for it I was hitting it 280 but couldn’t get comfortable over the ball. I like how you were able to tell that it appears to have less loft at address. I miss my 915 d2 driver I had more confidence with it.

My comment to Titleist - accuracy is everything. Forgiveness means getting the ball on the fairway, not distance. Going 20m's in to the trees isn't a better result than being 20m's back and on the edge of the fairway. Other than that, smart move getting MC on board, he makes sense and doesn't just smash the ball a mile and hate anything that refutes his world view.

Had a fitting today with the “Titleist Thursdays”, was amazing what he could do to create extra ball speed with small changes. Also how specific he was about everything! He said the draw/fade weights aren’t really for draw/fade though - moved we got into the heel to move my centre of mass towards the heel and increase ball speed for me! Amazing

Great review. Good to see the access you've gotten behind the scenes at Titleist HQ. Fourth person in the world to test the TS drivers - way to go brah!
I had a Titleist 910D3 in my bag for a couple of years and liked it, but wasn't as impressed with the 917 line compared to the Epic and G400. The new TS drivers are much better looking and I do especially like the look of the straight lines on the face of the TS2. I'm very happy with my Ping G400 for now though, so might have to wait until the TS4/5 come out and I'm ACTUALLY due for an upgrade 😉.

Great vid. Had a 917 d2 for 12 months and whilst I don’t like the pear shape the results are brilliant. I also have the rogue and you nailed when you said how poor face strike hits have a real drop off when compared to rogue. Visually the TS2 straightline is noticeable. Like that the surefit tech stays. Why can’t we just buy a driver head ? Makes moving from say 917 to ts2 easy. Avoiding a another high cost after market shaft or buying with a stock shaft that you immediately take out for your gamer shaft. Chipping looks better - what’s the wedge sole grinds you went with ? Try the d grind.

    • @andrewgort8067

A good point. I have always thought that the changes to the moi on the heads change launch angle and so have an impact on shaft selection, Mark can you get a club designer to comment .

    • @wanderingbrummie
      @wanderingbrummie 6 лет назад

Andrew Gort in a previous video with Dan I seem to remember that the results showed that the shaft made surprisingly little difference, and that the best results came with a surprisingly soft shaft ( ladies I think). Rick Shiels did a similar video, with similar results. I agree, just buying a head would be great for consumers.

Hey Mark, you touched on something interesting in this video that I'd love to hear you expand more on. You talked about how players and fitters are using lie angle to manipulate strike location. Really great review and good diplomacy considering your sponsorship as it's not easy to not upset someone!
The point with this driver us that if you'd spent the best part of £400 or even more on a driver this year or last year then there's little point testing it thinking that it's going to change a great deal. If you haven't bought a driver for a few years then you'd be wise to test this along with the offerings from all the top companies and you'll find that they would all likely perform similarly and all likely slightly better than an older driver. It then comes down to other factors and on a that I like with Titleist, as well as Ping, is that there seems to be some integrity with their company. They rarely make ridiculous statements and claims about their equipment, generally release new clubs every couple of years rather than multiple times a year and even are to be admires in how they sponsor tour players as they rarely seem to just wave money under people's noses to entice them away from other companies. If all clubs being produced are the same then factors like company perception then become more relevant and this is how I would choose clubs

Think making it straighter is going to help a lot, recently had to replace a loved but cracked cobra Ltd and after 3 fittings went g400 max. I have gained about 15 yards and I think that is mainly as I have so much confidence in it going where I aim that I am releasing it better. Mind over matter?

I like the idea of the TS2 lowering the variation in shot dispersion, this is up to the player but I felt it could be improved over the 917.D2 which I have. Definitely going to test both. I have been waiting for your review and it didn’t disappoint thank you.

Good video. The biggest difference to me was shape. Usually manufacturers have very different options like low spin & standard. These 2 appear to perform similarly. Hmmm, I’m tempted to trade in my 917.

Hi mark, great video as always especially appreciated by a long time Titleist user from 983k days. Surprised to hear standard length went to 45.5” shaft length from previous 45” when most tour pro’s allegedly go 44.5” I certainly found going to 44.5 via custom fitting resulted in more centered hits. Guessing custom fit would find optimum launch/spin characteristics. Keep it up! Love the honest reviews.

Love the review Mark, looks like Titleist will be a contender again for many people buying drivers.
What i'd like to see now is a longest and straightest comp with all this years top drivers! 🏌️ Get your #262's out for the lads!

Good review and insight into Titleist attempt to go head to head with other OEMs on the yardage hunt. Nice luxury to be able to have both drivers/heads in the bag. I am currently hitting the D3 so very in favour of the TS3. Funny though how all you guys (youtubers - you know who you are ;) ) compete to bring your reviews bang on the 6th when fitting of the TS officially started today. I have my fitting this week and itching to get this bad boy in my bag.

FAST TITLEIST DRIVER........ YES!!!!! Great video and I actually watch your video and pay more attention to it compared to others, even though you are sponsored by Titleist because I truly feel you are giving a nonbias review. Thank you

I play a 915 D2. I've always been a fan of more face bulge rather than less. I have found that straighter-faced 460 drivers produced over-hooking on toe hits. My 915 is great in how it handles toe hits. One of the best I've owned. So I will be very interested to see how the flatter face works on those. I certainly would like the easier aiming of the straight face. I sometimes wonder why club companies don't provide a visual aid on the crown to help set the club square.

Another great video Mark... currently 917D2 but I'm testing them and fairways next Friday at St Ives. Also been doing some ball testing for Titleist and using your trusted ball vs ball match play format. Don't think your channel is under threat though and not losing as many...

Great video Mark, always love hoe honest and insightful you are, you make no bones about being sponsored by Titleist and I totally trust and respect your opinion. I currently use the the Epic and get on fairly well with it but the errors are with me and not the driver. I am having such a task with curing a high handle delivery especially with the driver and part of wonders if I should just accept it and embrace it rather than fight it. Wish I lived closer and could arrange lessons with you.

Mark, you're a machine. I recon you would hit a lump of 4 x 2 on the end of a broom handle 262. Just my opinion.
