i cannot wait to get my dirty paws on these new titleist TS3 or TS2 drivers. ive been tinkering back and forth between 910d3 and 917d2 for certain courses. great to see that they’re appealing to both markets, those who like the 915 look or those who like the surefit cg like the 917. great job Titleist, never a disappointment!

I am so happy to see this come out! I am a guy who hits Titleist everything, except for my 3wd, which thanks to you is a Cobra F7 (never coming out of my bag). I was getting so close to switching to a TM M3 because I was getting tired of my buddies hitting it in my neighborhood since they switched!
This may keep me in Titieist for the long haul! So excited! TS3, TS3, TS3 ! ! !

Bought a brand new TS3 six months ago. Overstocked and with the new TSi out, it was on sale for ¥18,000 ($165.)
There was no need to replace my Epic Speed but I couldn’t resist the price and my long love of the Titleist shape made me jump at it.
I’ve played many Titleist drivers in the past but the guys in my gang always put drove me. I wasn’t expecting great distance but I found myself out driving the guys and the confidence I get looking down at address has me hitting more fairways than the tour average.
The simple sleek looks and performance is outstanding.
I get more distance with the Sim2 (in fact impressive distance) but the visual appeal and inspiring confidence makes the TS3 the best driver I’ve ever had in 46 years of golf.
My MacGregor 693 Tommy Armour gave me that same sense of wellbeing at address but my confidence was misplaced, the sweet spot isn’t even the size of the insert... can’t see why anyone can’t hit one of these modern mailboxes well.
Haven’t been in love with a driver in a long, long time.
    PenguinGolf.

Personally Rick, I gained 5 MPH with the TS2. I was swinging a G400 LST, my numbers were 167 ball speed with 12.5 degrees of launch carrying at 288 yards. With the TS2 i went up to 172 ball speed. 13.5 launch and 299 yards of carry. I did hit the TS3 and it did not perform as well for me. 170 ball speed with 295 yards of carry, also it did not feel as solid to me as the Ts2. so I went with the 2 and have been absolutely smashing the ball. Best drive ive hit and by far the best Titleist driver that they have made.

Congrats on the new addition to the family Rick! This is by far the best review of the TS2 and TS3 since the lift of the embargo.
I'm amazed at the massive difference between the 2 drivers, I mean TS3 has a spin rate under 2000! That's just mind blowing! No surprise that it carried much further than the TS2. The difference in the head shape I think provides different dynamics to suit all golfers (Those, like me, who prefer the traditional Titleist driver shape, and those expecting Titleist to come up with something different. I'm glad they did! Looking forward to getting fitted for a TS3 and crushing some balls out on the course :) Keep up the great work Rick! I always look forward to your reviews :) (could you possible do a range finder review in the near future? :) )

I am nearly 60years old, and I increased by ball speed by 2.5mph and carry distance by 14.5 yards, using the SAME shaft as my current driver. Hey Rick,
I switched back to my 910 (!) the other day after cracking the crown on my M1. And the confidence was back up where it's never been before (played three rounds well into the 70's in a tournament). I've been chasing the extra yards off the tee with the tailormade, but I'm back now. Titeleist all the way. And with a potential TS2, there's only good things for the future. Thanks for this video!
ps: I had an online lesson with you a few years back...loved it to bits. I'm still watching your feedback every few months.

Rick, you always request comments and or questions and your viewers do just that. The first question that came to my mind was, did you put it in your bag? I read A LOT of the comments/questions before I wrote this. I had a feeling their was going to be numerous viewers that were probably going to ask you what I wanted to, and I was correct. You replied to one with "I put clubs in my bag and see if they stay". You did not mention the Titleist driver specifically. Why are you dodging the question? So I will ask you again for all of us that want to know. Did it, or did it not go in your bag? For the record your reviews are the best on the internet, period! Very informative, very straightforward and very honest! Keep up the good work!

    • @LTR1420
      @LTR1420 5 лет назад

@Bogeyssuk not necessarily. I agree to an extent but the last few years has seen a decent jump in technology and numbers compared to past years. The biggest being, lower spin numbers with more forgiveness. When SLDR came out everyone thought low spin=long ball and not forgiving. Then M2 came out and changed that concept. IMO, nothing has changed since M2 came out other than the other manufacturers jumping on board with the same concepts. Along with TM making their adjustable driver (M1 and M3) more forgiving. It looks as if they've reached the limit on distance. Now they're trying to add as much forgiveness as possible without too much spin.

Good to hear Titleist has made a step forward in design. The last Titleist driver that I used was the 905T when it came out, and I loved it. Great video once again Rick.

Just tried TS3 today. 8.5 degree driver. Launch was the same as my current driver, spin dropped by 500 rpm. Gained 5 mph and 25 yards on my current driver. granted my driver is an older model. but the mishits for the TS3 still got out there. Planning on buying one soon enough. Josh

Hi Rick, I use my old Taylormade R11S - It still performs quite well. I told myself to focus on improving my golf tecnice this year and treat myself with new equipment next year if I meet my goals. I definately has improved and a new driver is high on the list. The new Titleist drivers looks very interesting..

I agree just bought the TS3 9.5...Agree launch and the lower ball spin is a great way to increase distance if you can't generate high swing speed and ball speed...Ive added a low compression AVX ball and gained more distance...2019 here I come!

You simply provide the best golf club reviews out of any RUclips reviewers Rick. Outstanding format, direct approach commentary without the fluff, unique comparison visual charts, numbers delivery etc just so much improvement over time. 👍👍👍 Question, given the TS3 is giving you the longest distance, is that going straight in the bag?

I’ve been playing the 915D2 for over a year now. Got a Rogue Subzero and didn’t like it. Kept playing the 915D2. I just got the TS2 and absolutely love it. Went from a 9.5 in the 915 to an 8.5 in the TS2. More distance straight away with a “hotter” feeling face. Sounds more solid, where the 915 has more of a hollow sound/feel. If you like Titleist drivers, you should definitely give these a try. 🤙

tested this summer. enormous distance gains from TS3 with Kuro Kage stiff 50g (18 yards on average; 28 yards on best vs my best M1). Consistent, high launch, low spin with great sound and feel. Hoping to win one from one R Shiels, as 500 unaffordable

Hi Rick just bought a TS2 driver from 2nd swing golf ( 171 and change ) but previously got fitted for a Taylor Made Stealth and the main thing getting my specs so took it to the Titleist driver, face loft 10.5 swing speed 82 ball spin 2200 launch 15 degree and shaft 55 gram carry over 207 . It will replace my PING I15 with a heavier shaft 69 gram and only 165 yard carry off the tee. Feeling a better driver and newer technology coming to my bag !

Hey Rick, great review! Had a fitting yesterday and had a similar experience with the Titleist drivers...wow! I have never owned a Titleist Driver but decided to go in with an open mind. I'm currently hitting a Callaway Rogue 9.0 set +1 with the HZRDUS Yellow shaft. Landed on the TSi3 with HZRDUS Black and was smoking it. Ball speed was up a few but easily added 8-9 yards carry to my drives. Most of my misses were a bit left, but overall was pretty forgiving. Going back in February to see what the other mfg put out, but the TSi3 is high on my list for my next driver. Great review as always...cheers!

The UPS man delivered the TS3 yesterday in the AM, got out in the afternoon for a little “real world” on course validation. Love at first strike, the TS3 is the real deal, the on-course performance was equal to or better than the numbers in my fitting session. Shot dispersion was tight, hit 10 of 14 fairways, I should note I was playing a resort course so the fairways were fairly generous. Two of my misses were primary cut, literally a couple of feet off the fairway, the other two were just bad swings, pushes. Had a couple of strikes out towards the toe, loss in distance 8 - 10 yards and offline about 5 - 7 yards, definitely more forgiving than my 917 D3. Nice active feel off the Driver face and very gratifying sound, I felt very comfortable and confident on the tee box. The Project X Even Flow T1100 White 75 felt smooth and solid, nice feedback, trajectory was slightly lower than with my Mitsubishi Diamana Ltd D+ White 70 shaft in my 917. All in all I’m extremely pleased and excited with the performance of the TS3, as I said before, in my opinion hands down the best Titleist Driver I have played

The Ts3 looks impeccable! The distance numbers seem great and it’s great to see titleist bring something out like this. I believe this is what they needed! As a player who hits titleist everything, it really makes me happy to see this! Any idea when it comes out in stores?

Just had a lesson and was swinging really well so tried the TS3 driver felt great heavier than my G400 gained 12yds carry and my smash factor peaked at 1.43 so plenty of room for improvement/distance. Most expensive golf lesson ever but worth the price for an average 12 yd gain and tighter dispersion. 👍

Tried the TS2 today at my local range and wow, the sound is fantastic. The pro allowed me on the simulator and I was carrying it 272 yards. However, at £500 It’s just too expensive, my mizuno st180 was still carrying it 278 and rolling out more, less spin. Fantastic driver, looks and sounds great though 👍🏻

I bought TS2. It’s awesome. It’s just a cool looking club and it improved my avg distance from 250 to 280. It cost $500 that was the only issue. If you love golf like I do though, highly recommend it.

  • @timcline1912

I hit them today on the range. Oh My! Yes Please! No numbers, but at a minimum, 10 yds based on 915 landing area. 915 usually lands 10 to 15 in front of 250 sign. Only 2 landed in front of 250 sign. It was TS2 with Tensi stiff in 9.5.
Can’t be disappointed in this Club.

Hit them last night and was blown away with the speed and distance I gained. I mainly hit the fairway woods because that’s what I’m in the market for. Ended up preordering the TS3 this afternoon. The driver may end up in the bag too if I can get a permission slip from the wife.

I suppose I'm not surprised with this result - even going back as far back as the 910, I absolutely fell in love with the D3 model. It is slightly less forgiving (which carries on to the TS3) but God the confidence you get from it is insane. You never feel like you can fit a bad shot with it at all

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that Titleist seems to be going where the other manufacturers have already gone (as far as TS2). The look of the shape of the head looks like every other company that have drivers with a "flattened" look in order to move the CG back while staying within the 460cc limit. The 45 1/2 inch shaft REEKS of the similar thing PING and Taylormade have already done, lenthening the shaft in order to have robot tests show that the driver is longer. I use a 44 inch shaft in all my drivers, and the average PGA TOUR shaft is 44 1/2 inches, so it looks to me that Titleist has just decided to wave the white flag and what they think they have to do to keep up with the others.
