*Thanks for watching, if you enjoyed the review smash that LIKE button* *Q* - What do you think of the new TaylorMade drivers? Also what do you look for most when choosing a new driver?
Price and performance think price of golf stuff in general is getting out of hand ..we want more people to play the game but with the growing price of equipment it puts people off..as for the new driver I just think it's a pimped up version of the M4 and M5.
Hey Rick I just got the m1 and hit it well, not as good as the m4 I tried but that was just a better and longer shaft. Question is if ball speed is the same then what's the difference really? Is the m3-m4 head any heavier than the m1 or is the family the same across the board with just cosmetic differences?
They look fine but I dont think your average golfer would need to upgrade so often. To be honest I have to like the shape and the weight so I feel confident a can hit fairways. Extra couple of yards dont interest me over that
I like the matte finish look. Sounds low when struck, I’m curious about the feel. I look for a good relationship and that starts with a good first date, where the timing works perfectly and naturally and the first time I pull it out, I’ll know I can hit it deep, with confidence, every time
How about how long until people start backing out the screws, removing the resin, then putting the screws back in? Seems like that made it easier, for hometown heros, to possibly cheat at the game we love.
@@oscarsthoughts4635 Actually I couldn't test it so far. Due to the covid-restrictions the courses and ranges were closed. All I can say is that I tested the RBZ last year and really liked it, it's a solid driver.
I still stick with my M1. It absolutely crushes golf balls. Longest driver I have ever had and I will stick with it till It cannot take any more. Rick did an m1 vs m2 comparison and the m1 crushed.
I just bought TM M6 - they are closing out 2019s so I paid $350. Hitting it longer than my RBZ, maybe a bit higher, too. It does seem more forgiving sometimes. Only played 3 rounds, it's a very good looking driver to me. I swing it around 100-105 mph.
Too many of my miss-strikes tend to be low-heel, so that screw would end up with a lot of shaved urethane embedded in it. 😞 Haven't bought a TM driver since the 2016 M1, which was never any better than my r7 SuperQuad. At 60, the only time I seem to be picking up speed is getting to the supermarket on "Senior Discount Day!!"
Back in 2014 Adams was already "slowing down" their XTD Ti heads to stay under the max CT / COR (and Quality checking every single head multiple times for that). Taylormade bought Adams around that time, and their M2, M4, M6 drivers have similar bottom slot designs to the Adams.. probably no coincidence. Would love to see if Rick can get a hold of an XTD Ti. I'd imagine it has similar ball speeds but maybe not as low spin or forgiving on off center hits. Still gaming my XTD Ti and still bombing it!
i just bought a new m5 now in 2020. this driver is awesome! im hitting powerful "straight" shots. i think this club is great and sound and feel is the best.

Shane Dyel Rick is a pro golfer. Might not be the tour pro, but still a pro, better than most of us. If you were talking about Rick the pro who isn’t good enough to hit this, then who are these drivers for? I’m a scratch golfer and I own a M2. Rick did say there isn’t a noticeable difference between previous M series, so why drop another $500 to get the similar yardage?
Great review Rick. You've really upped the production value of your videos over the past year and your efforts are greatly appreciated. Super high quality videos with awesome content delivering unbiased reviews - an excellent match! Personally, I'm a Ping guy BUT - the M5/M6 drivers are sexy looking and though they don't deliver the promised ball speed, they appear to produce good distance. Based on your 2 gen compare, not sure why they needed to bring out a new line if the overall performance is essentially the same, but that is Taylormade.
Honest video, quite refreshing actually. I really feel all club manufacturers have back room meetings every year to answer the obvious question, “How are we going to convince golfers to pay 5-600 dollars again this year for our driver?” 😀
I have an m2 driver and almost bought an m4 but all I needed was a stiff shaft. Got the new shaft fitted for me and it’s made a world of difference with my swing, super happy I didn’t spend a bunch of money on a driver and only got the stuff shaft
I just got myself a new M 6 Type D driver Rick. Very very nice. Being a senior I did get it with the even flow red senior shaft. I am in that swing speed area . I enjoyed hitting it on my fitters monitors . Been a while since I have hit a ball off driver thats gone over two hundred yards but I hit several that did just that on the actual golf course this weekend. My very first shot with it went 211 yards on a medium powered swing. I was 5 yards from the green , chipped in on and putted it in the hole for a birdie. Also being only 5 foot 7 inches I have usually played with shorter driver shafts but this driver seems good as is. Better and easier to control. These Taylormade drivers are winners Rick. Its making the game fun. Cheers, Spider Dubiel
Another awesome unbiased club review Rick. Love how you don't sugar coat the facts. It looks like Taylormade is onto something here with their high launch/low spin performance, but once again proving that you can't magically create ball speed out of thin air with the technology we have access to today. I'll go buy a G400 instead for half the price and just as good - if not better - performance.
I have to say great looking club, but in my opinion its here we go again with all the jargon that comes with a new launch especially when there is not much difference in distance and performance than an older modal. Thanks for your honest opinion Rick great review.
I still hit the original M1 and I hit it so well that I've never felt the need to find anything else. The ball explodes off the face and the sound is like a cannon. However, I have tested the Titleist TS2 and 3 recently and the sound of that driver is the best I've heard so far. Absolutely explodes and the 3-wood is crazy long as well. If I moved from my M1, I would definitely move in the Titleist direction.
Picked one up used for 200 at PGA superstore. Had a 150 dollar eve flow x stuff shaft already on it. Absolutely my favorite driver ever- gonna be looking for a few heads online just in case this one cracks one day- liked it better than my sim
Two full seasons. Still good as ever. The 3 wood is also very good. Tried the M3 and 4 when they came out but liked mine better. Also, for the fun of it at a club testing day last spring, tried Ping G max, new cal and Mizuno. Still thought my M2 was best for me. P.s. in northern hemisphere.
My Srixon 785 was the only driver from the current models that truly outperformed my big Bertha alpha from 2015... interested to swing these, but the 785 is pretty safe for now!
Another additional comment. I tried out my new M 6 Type D driver again for 9 holes. That thing is incredible. I was on the 6th hole tonight. Hit a shot directly at the green. Landed within 7 feet of the flag. Putted the next shot in for an Eagle!!! Funny thing is a gigantic Hawk had just come down barely over the flag just before I sank the Eagle. I used it on 2 other opportunities with again very good results. I am used to much shorter drivers. I am only 5 foot 7 inches. Never had this control with any driver before. I really like the way it lines up with the ball too. I cannot say enough about this driver. I do believe I just got faster and a heck of a lot more accurate. Spider Dubiel
I’ve been lucky enough to test both of these drivers. I use the M2 at the moment and the biggest thing I noticed in testing was the very small dispersion that the M6 gave me, brilliant.
I’ll keep my m4 for several years, might get the m12 in 2022 Some pros have illegal drivers, you can only test them before they’ve been hit, so they find the fast ones and give them to pros
Rick, because of this review, I just recently picked up an M6. With that I completed my set of clubs! Hopefully I'll soon be able to get out to the range to get a feel for it, shake some of my rust off, and put some of your tips to work! Thank you for all your videos
Well done Rick. Best and most honest reviews I've watched along the way. Because Taylormade upgrades their clubs so often, I feel the hype each year over minor changes is just smoke & mirrors to sell more equipment. They should take a page out of Titleist's agenda and make realistic (or presumed) changes every couple of years, whereby it sounds somewhat more practical. Good job Rick.
Rick, this is an absolutely stellar video. Amazingly comprehensive, giving all of the data anyone could want. Plus the on-course footage is very cinematic. A+
I do wonder if TaylorMade can really make me faster... as a high handicapper having lots of lessons to improve my swing I am seriously needing to consider a new Driver BUT am always wary of these claims.
No, it's simply marketing. The legal limit is the legal limit. Your best bet is to continue with lessons, work on flexibility and start a speed program if you feel you want to increase SS. But most importantly follow Rick's advice and get fit. Every company makes good drivers that flirt with Max COR but there is probably one out there with the right combination that may get you a little better results.
LOVE those launch numbers on the M6. I am a longdriver and spin is my #1 concern, then launch angle , then ball speed. Ball speed doesn't mean shit if your launch numbers are bad!!
I've alwsys bee a cally fan and have the epic driver but I've finally jumped ship and just purchased my 1st Talormade driver the m6. Wow never liked TMade drivers but this converted me picked up 12/13 yards after a fitting and also tried cobra f9 and ping G max but they couldn't get any where near the Tmade. Never thought i would play Tmade ever but now it's going in my bag, roll on Feb can't wait
Dan, I just learned the same from Edwin Watts here in Florida. In fact, the discounted price is down to about $350.00. Now, some of the reviews I've read on the TaylorMade website indicate the crown and /or head of the club tends to crack after a few rounds. Not sure if this is the reason for such a discount, but it does make me give thought to another brand.
I've been playing the M5 for several years now and I do find the twist face works, I've commented on it many times when I've missed the middle of the face and still hit fairways. I've tried several other drivers in the last year thinking the tech must have improved, but I still can't find a better club.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For me they look good not great. I'm not an aesthetics kind of player, more so feel. I've never hit it so idk if I like it or not but it's definitely same old marketing. Exaggerated performance claims to sell clubs. I despise that because I love this game and I feel like there is a line where companies quit the bullshit and try to grow the game instead of selling yearly bullshit claims. Grow the game and we all win.
Wow! even more taylormade drivers that have amazing amounts of new technology and don’t add anything to your game! Don’t be fooled, buy clubs from 4/5 years ago for a quarter of the price, spend the rest on lessons and then you’ll see genuine improvements !
Wow. Dont think I particularly like the look or progression of the M line. I kind of think those decals on the sole look kind of cheap. I do like the sound of the club at impact. M6 LOOK BETTER. I dont game taylormade so I would never buy and play the drivers. G400lst for me.
Hey Rick .... great video as usual! I was a Golf Pro ( Club Pro) back in the late 90's and early 2000's. Unfortunately for me I also had a heart disease that stopped my career in 2003. I spent 21 years fighting the disease and in 2016 I I was lucky enough to receive a heart transplant. Having said that I would love to hear more about shafts for these new Drivers and not just Taylor Made equipment because I have been out of the game for too may years. Thank You and keep up the great work!!
I always enjoy your reviews of the new clubs because I feel that it's an honest opinion. Not only do you give the good aspects of the clubs but also include where they are deficient. I like the looks of the new drivers. I have always loved the look of the carbon showing through, whether on the head or shaft. Thanks for another great review. When I'm ready to give up my M2, I'll take a closer look at these. Maybe they will have come down in price by then.
Anybody noticed that on the course Rick is dressed as an M6 driver? Black an grey with a little bit of red? 🤔 Otherwise great review Rick. Keep up the good work!
I like your reviews the most because they are legitimate and can be trusted. When it comes to drivers I'm looking for that little cobra on the top of the club head.
I literally just got a new m3 for Christmas, I've yet to even swing it. And there's already an m5 and m6...congratulations Taylormade, you're the new Iphone.
They will be because titleist have released a speed driver and TM know they are now missing that side of the sales because their m3/4 range with twist face was meant to be the straightest 😂😂😂
Smashing review Rick. The format of your reviews is perfect. The facts speak for themselves, the only thing that has really changed with these drivers is the advertising campaign.
Great review Rick, appreciate the non bias reviews. From what I've seen so far ever ts2 and ts3 are the drivers to get in 2019. Thanks again for the great review
I love my M3 and have really been curious to see if the M5 was any better. Seems for me at least, it will come down to cosmetics and sound if I make the change or not. Really appreciate the honest reviews as always!
Great review as always Rick. Thanks for getting the review on the new Taylormade M drivers out so early. I have been dying to see what their engineers were going to be coming up with to try and build a better driver. Sounds like from what you’re saying the jury is still out on whether or not this is truly an improvement that would be worth the price.
As a pro, you would always have access to premium build clubs that test close to max legal, where amateur hackers like me would get the mass built, less than premium. Hence, you may not notice a difference whereas I perhaps would with now being able to access similar build clubs to you. I loved my M1 but am even happier with my new M5. Great review.
So I went back to see what the M2 did for you way back in 2016 and guess what you were hitting it farther so much for newer is better, I guess I’ll be sticking with my M2 another season after all and thanks for your videos I really do enjoy them 👍🏌️⛳️
The SLDR is 5 years old this year. At the time the RRP was £349 You can pick them up second hand for buttons now. Would love to see a match up between that and M5/6

Jake Griffin looks like a Dunlop
Just bought a m6..hope it worth the $..& makes me better 😊
Wow! even more taylormade drivers that have amazing amounts of new technology and don’t add anything to your game! Don’t be fooled, buy clubs from 4/5 years ago for a quarter of the price, spend the rest on lessons and then you’ll see genuine improvements !
Spot on Matt!
Totally right
Best golf advice
Never bought or owned a new drivers. I’m pulling the trigger on this one! I love the way the M6 looks!
I spent 21 years fighting the disease and in 2016 I
I was lucky enough to receive a heart transplant. Having said that I would love to hear more about shafts for these new Drivers and not just Taylor Made equipment because I have been out of the game for too may years. Thank You and keep up the great work!!
Does this mean we can finally bring back the phrase of hitting it out of the screws?!
Thaddeus Stambaugh don’t hit those screws 🙈
Those screws are a long way from where screws used to be!
Danke für den Test!
Habe mir heute den M6 nach einem Fitting beim Pro, gekauft.
Do you have a timetable for the Ping410 driver review?
Don't just like it Rick! Tell us! :)
God I love that noise
I usually hate b roll but I loved yours rick. Great job. It was like a movie. Love the high quality
I still miss the look of that 2016 M2. Anyone else agree?
BEN ABARE still have an M1 from 2016 for 100🙌🏻
Twitch Darren1360 Trusty Rusty
I LOVE my ‘16 M2. Awesome!
Tim Dalton it’s a great club. I broke mine last year
Ben Abare, It sure is. Worked nicely for me from the first time I gave it a swing. Stop breaking clubs!! 😂👍🏻
2016 custom fitted m2 for me. Don't think I will be changing anytime soon! Love it
Anybody noticed that on the course Rick is dressed as an M6 driver? Black an grey with a little bit of red? 🤔
Otherwise great review Rick. Keep up the good work!
😂 great comment mate!
I love that muted sound off the face for both the M5 & M6. Great video editing and production Rick!
Thank you!
Are you going to change your driver in 2019? Also cobra F9 review? Love your vids!!
Coming very soon!
Yes, cobra F9 please. And also ST190 from Mizuno would be great. These two is on my consider list this year.
I am using the Taylor made R15 I am very high handicapper so I feel gives me good distance and let’s me stay on fairway a lot more
Not a fan of the thin silver top line prefer m3/m1 m2/m4 top line as it bigger with the white and silver but still nice looking drivers!
Vonik M2 2016 is the best looking club that taylormade has made hands down
I like your reviews the most because they are legitimate and can be trusted. When it comes to drivers I'm looking for that little cobra on the top of the club head.
Great video mate but Ts2/3 still better for me personally pal!!
I literally just got a new m3 for Christmas, I've yet to even swing it. And there's already an m5 and m6...congratulations Taylormade, you're the new Iphone.
These clubs, while performance is ok, look rushed. great vid rick!
They will be because titleist have released a speed driver and TM know they are now missing that side of the sales because their m3/4 range with twist face was meant to be the straightest 😂😂😂
Of course their rushed , Because Taylormade bring out so many clubs every freaking year .
stefon dai Thomas yes yes
Smashing review Rick. The format of your reviews is perfect. The facts speak for themselves, the only thing that has really changed with these drivers is the advertising campaign.
Great review as always rick! When is the cobra F9 review coming out?
Next week!
M6 looks a LOT like the F9, anyone else see that?
@@brenton-ford yup that little clit on the back of the bottom
Michael Baumhart I’ve hit it the F9. Very good club, crazy accurate.
REALLY like this review. Specially your comparison to the M3 and M4. This put it into perspective.
I love how they call it “speed injected” when the injection actually slows down the ball speed to make it legal. Shouldn’t it be “slow injected?”
Lol tm is a joke
Great review Rick, appreciate the non bias reviews. From what I've seen so far ever ts2 and ts3 are the drivers to get in 2019. Thanks again for the great review
PLEASE DO ANOTHER GOLFBIDDER CHALLENGE
Very tacky looking club silly money would not buy
I love my M3 and have really been curious to see if the M5 was any better. Seems for me at least, it will come down to cosmetics and sound if I make the change or not. Really appreciate the honest reviews as always!
Great video again Rick. When is the new callaway epic flash review coming?
Callaway review will be coming tomorrow!
I can't wait for the callaway review
Brilliant full in-depth review can’t ask for anymore info.
I'd rather buy a Titleist TS2 or TS3
That's nice to know...
i still like the M2s. i picked up an m6 hybrid for the twisted plate. it was 20 bux more than the m2 hybrid figured the extra forgiveness may help.
*clap* *clap* ( club review)
Great review as always Rick. Thanks for getting the review on the new Taylormade M drivers out so early. I have been dying to see what their engineers were going to be coming up with to try and build a better driver. Sounds like from what you’re saying the jury is still out on whether or not this is truly an improvement that would be worth the price.
No faster ball speed... bummer... Jesus Christ 500-550 dollars? Ugh
Love the honest review. Especially honesty about price.
USA 2 in the morning lol
Haha!
I’m with you!
They're so AWFUL AND EXPENSIVE
yep
and sound like plastic
IvanGolfer Salas nub
Can’t wait to try this one out! I’ve still got the 2017 m2 in the bag so we will have so see if either of these take its place!!
Sorry Rick, you're already fast so u don't count 😬
You know me too well Todd 😂 💥
So I went back to see what the M2 did for you way back in 2016 and guess what you were hitting it farther so much for newer is better, I guess I’ll be sticking with my M2 another season after all and thanks for your videos I really do enjoy them 👍🏌️⛳️
M6 and cobra f9 best 2 looking drivers this year in my opinion. M6 sounds amazing waiting on mine arriving in Feb 👍
Great review rick was looking forward to this one did not disappoint
I really like the M6 driver I'm just not big on adjustable when it comes to drivers for the M5. But I love the design for each of them
good and honest review and thats what makes this a great video and a great channel. and after seeing it im glad i bought the ts2 driver for 2019
Love the comparison with M3, M4, M5 and M6 with your optimal stats. Especially relevant given the same club head speed delivery.
The SLDR is 5 years old this year. At the time the RRP was £349
You can pick them up second hand for buttons now. Would love to see a match up between that and M5/6
As always your candor is refreshing..
Respectfully
Hey Rick I really love the reviews and they are extremely helpful. You answer a lot of questions with the content covered. Thanks a lot!
