Great timing guys. Just got fitted for TS2 yesterday. Tried new Srixon, G400 Max, and Titleist. TS2 felt great and gave me best results. I’m 64 with good flexibility and swing speed was about 95. Can’t wait to get out this morning with it in the bag. (Also picked up my new Srixon 785s that had come in)
Great touch putting Matt's Driver side by side. Matt mentioned the grip on the TS2/TS3. Maybe in the future blow off the OEM one and put on his gaming grip to provide that comfort and eliminate the variable. I love that you allow your subscribers to direct the channel it never gets old.
The point about liking the grip during the fitting is incredibly valid. It’s something I’ve struggled with in the past. Another first class video guys 👍
Guys.....finally time to retire the Razr Hawk. Just bought the TS3 today. Have to say I was convinced it was the best driver for me. Really felt like I could control the ball flight and I just loved the sound and feel on center strikes. Hope I can keep it in the bag for a long time like the Razr Hawk. Thanks for all the work you guys do to share product info and especially the performance insights! Looking forward to teeing it up in the spring.
I was fit the other day by a TItleist rep. I went in with no ego or preference for head, shaft...etc. My old club is an Epic SZ with Rogue 65 Stiff and I just couldn't hit the darn thing. Based on my swing and what I was looking for the driver to do we went to TS2 10.5 C4 Setting. Stiff Fujikura Speeder Tour Spec 74 at 44.5", +2g weight in back of head. Gained 18 yards of carry, better height and spin. Ordered it Saturday, can't wait to pick it up!
I recently purchased a TS3 driver after getting fitted for a replacement for my Callaway XR. I turns out that my old shaft was too long and I was missing the sweet spot. I also had a little too much loft with the Callaway. During the fitting I went with a slightly shorter Project X black shaft. I was able to hit the sweet spot more consistently and increased my average ball speed from 132.5 to 141.2 mph. Huge difference. I also gained 20-25 yards with the TS3. I was hitting my old Callaway in the 235-250 range with 265 being the farthest I could hit it. With the TS I'm now in the 245-265 range. I hit one shot with the TS3 279 during the fitting. 279 yards! It's nice to know the 270's are within your abilities. I don't work for Titleist. Lastly, I cannot emphasize the importance of getting fit with a driver. My old driver was too long and too lofted so I was missing right. Now, I'm able to hit it straight with the right ball flight. Getting fit will transform your game.
Great review! I went to get fit today and got much better numbers then my M3 and thats mostly because I bought the M3 off the shelf and didn't have the right shaft or flex until today. gained 8MPH Ball speed which helped in gaining distance big time! Thanks. for the recommendation of getting fit it made a difference.
Ive always been a Titleist guy. Mainly because I really enjoy the clean look Titleist always offers. Happy to see that they finally caught up in the speed department instead of just solely being fairway finders.
At my fitting, I tried all 4 leading driver heads on my list; at the end, I went with the TS3. Love the feel and performance. As you guys very eloquently pointed out I was not happy with their past drivers, but after hitting the TS3, I was very, very pleased.
Hopefully get my TS2 this week after a fitting , gained over 15 yards over the 917 ,personally I like the 917 ,it's a great driver but the TS2 worked better was longer and a bit more forgiving .Tried the 10.5 and liked the rainbow flight but the fitter said 9.5 was longer with penetrating flight and more run out so went with that .TS3 was nice but was inconsistent with it ,dispersion was a lot wider .My own shaft worked the best and gave the best numbers so it was a good test Great video guys .
I'm a mid handicapper, I had a chance to demo both clubs last weekend and found that these clubs dont perform , feel and sound like your typical titleist drivers, they are definitely an upgrade and it stands out immediately. I currently still play the taylormade r11s due to the fact I haven't found a club that performs better yet, and at 499.99 for the new ts2 and ts3 its unlikely that will change just to have a current model driver. Appreciate the honest review guys!
Love Titleist, but been avoiding their drivers for a while now... Am SO stoked their “their and about” now ! I know whats on my wishlist for Christmas now for sure !!!
I have always played Titleist drivers. Last one was the 917 D3. I agree with you both about the looks. That’s what attracted me for all these years. When i heard about the TS i really wanted to like it. In the meantime i had tried on my own the M3 and M4, my Buddy’s Epic SZ, messed around with a Rogue on the course and decided to use the Ping G400 LST before trading in for TS. I was fitted in the TS2 Hazardous smoke X stiff and 1/2” short A2 setting with a 2 gram weight. Working on swing changes so hoping it works out. Lots of great options but wish i had a personal driver fitting with TXG during this time.
I game the rogue subzero and gained ball speed with TS3. 120mph + swing speed. In one of your videos you mentioned the rogue heads being lighter weight and could be detrimental for faster swing speeds gaining more speed. I couldn’t understand why every other head I’ve been hitting the last few weeks trumps my subzero. G400s the M family and now fallen in love with the TS3.
I went for a fitting today for a TS3. My spin off the driver was extremely high, like 5800. I am about 98 mph swing speed and I couldn’t get the spin down. I moved the ball back in the stance and end up comparing it to epic flash subzero and everything I hit was launching high, even with subzero. After I put this a little further back, I finally got my spin down to around 3011 one time and my best, and was about 30 yards longer. I never realized how high my spin was and it left even the fitter a little dumb founded. I am extremely consistent, but everyone I thought I hit well in the air was super night in spin. I left the fitting today with out a driver, and clueless as what shaft to even try. Any recommendations you have on shafts would help me greatly. My current driver is the Titleist 915 d2 with a blue diamana stiff flex. I am at least 20 yards longer with the ts3 and epic flash subzero then my current driver. Just need to know which direction to go.
Finally had a chance to try these on a Trackman and found I was hitting the TS3 10-15 yards further with 5 MPH faster than my 2014 Big Bertha. I absolutely loved the head of the TS3. Tried the Cobra F9 too which was nice. Now to get properly fitted would be the icing on the cake.
I am glad you agree with what I found, the TS3 seems to sit very very slightly shut. I had to put the shaft in the Flat position - and also the Surefit weight to Fade (but I do think some of that or much of it) was the OE Tensei Blue Shaft in Stiff which I could 'feel' shutting the face at impact too much. Funny how I was also consistently hitting the TS3 8.5 head, lofted up to 10ish, 2200 rpms as well. My joke, after spending an hour finding a good setup, was that I got it to match exactly my 2016 Taylormade M2 (Tiger's Holy Grail driver) with a 44.75" HZDUS Black 6.5X. I could only hit it further if I went with a 45.5" shaft but with similar shaft length it reproduced my exact carry and spin numbers. It is a great driver. Loved the feel/sound.The process made me look and re-appreciate even more how good that M2 driver is.
Picked up the Z785 because of the risk free 60 days. Paired it with a Tensei Pro Blue and it seems miles more forgiving than my 2016 M2. Oddly enough I was constantly further down the fairway than with the M2 which was a big surprise. OEM's still seem to be making progress, glad to see Titleist is, too.
Interesting because after trying very thoroughly (range, fittings, shafts, lengths, weights, grips) various driver and fairway heads (from mizuno, rogue, tm3/4, ping g400/max, cobra f8, wilson c300, srixon z785 ...) this is the first time I found a driver that I like (look, feel, sound, performance, consistency) and that gave me a consistent 30 yd more carry than any of the others. Also I went through several sessions of fittings even when we honed in the right head for me (ts3 in driver, ts2 in the 5 wood) on an open range with gc quad hitting 100 balls (did the same for every head - the competitor at the end of the day was the m3) to ensure optimal minimal dispersion (length and width). Indeed as some others i know have found just because one (eg ts3) is best in the driver does not mean that the same ts3 is best in the fairway. Dialing in also required compensating weights (also for the fairway wood) for length cut, shaft choices and more. Also contrary to previous fittings where “swingweight” was emphasized as being key I have found the contrary to be the case with launch conditions, spin, carry distance, dispersion being more important at least on this occasion.
Robot testing will be fun to see. I've always been curious to see how much twist face actually affects start lines and side spin. When twist face came out I hypothesized that the change in face angle will have an equal affect on the amount if side spin imparted on the ball so it would end up negating the change in start line and end up looking no different than a normal face.
I’ve had two fittings to date. TS3 10.5 Average 15-20 yards carry, 5mph ball speed increase (note my current m2 has 12 degrees of loft) so not too shabby. Need to test an M4 10.5 too see if im getting similar results
A really good review. I currently play 917 D3, which is a great driver, in my opinion it is better than the 2017 m1 which I gamed before the 917 D3, There appears to be a mind set that Titleist drivers are expensive, but not as good as other manufactures on the market & this is just wrong. I prefer the colour, 440cc head & the shape of the 917 D3 over the TS. TS won't be going in my bag & I am not sold on twist face, I use roll and bulge. I would like to see a comparison of the 917 D3 against the TS D3, because I think it will show that the 917 D3 was better than many gave it credit.
Was playing 917D2, until a Titleist fitting, and with my same shaft gained 2.5mph speed, and 14.5yd carry. Dispersion better, and in my opinion a better sound. Seems easier to hit. Love it. Did order it, and now playing it full time. Great video as usual chaps 🍻
So you guys felt this has really caught up on the rest as such, rather than breaking new ground across all drivers (but new ground for titleist) I’m itching to try this club, I have 2016 m1 off the rack so expecting to see a gain, but then I guess if I got fitted to any new model I would see a again of 5-10 metres
I loved my 910 D3 and used it for 3 seasons before switching it out - tried 913 series (dud), 915 (close but not quite) and 917 (disappointing). Look forward to seeing if TS series can rope me back into their stable by outperforming my G400 Aldila NV2KXV...A++ review gents!!
My 915 D3 which I'm still gaming is a bit spinny and slow but she's a fairway finder. An extra 10 to 15 yards would be nice long as I still finding fairway.
Went to Titleist for a fitting, TS3 felt awesome & great numbers. Problem was, the best shaft was a Kiyoshi White with £250 upcharge. Guess my swing has expensive taste 😂😂
I picked up 9 yard compared to my old 917 d3 the club all around feels a lot better than the last model. Would love to see the 3 wood compared to others aswell.
Should you utilize the titleist weight in ts3 to promote face closure (wt n heel) or opening (wt toe) or to stabilize toe/heel strikes - weight in toe for toe strikes etc.
might be late....playing the TS3, looking to help a miss of a leaky fade, would it be more beneficial to put the draw weight in the head or adjust the lie angle upward to help straighten out my ball flight?
Gave the TS3 8.5 today at America Golf in the UK. Blow me away. Not only 30 yards longer than the G400 LST I was also testing but just as straight. I tried the Kuro Kage 50 in stiff. I currently play the speeder evo iv 569 in x in my M3. I’m in the market for a whole new bag but was wondering if it would be worth changing the adapter. I’ve still on the original tensei blue I can put in the M3. Any feedback much appreciated
I tried it and LOVED the feel. Definitely became a front runner for my new driver. However I think the shaft choice didn't work too well for me. The guy gave me the EvenFlow white, yet I usually play the Kuro Kage silver. Would the Kuro Kage black with the SFW technology be a better fit for me? Obviously I need a full fitting, just curious for my own thoughts to narrow things down
Just that the G400 max isn't designed for lower spin like a lot of other drivers are, Ping went after maximum forgiveness and stability with that head. That being said, it tends to be an excellent performer for a variety of swing speeds and skill levels (i.e. Tony Finau using it on the PGA Tour)
With all the popular driver companies being seemingly so close in distance and forgiveness performance; Are there any standouts that perform well when having to be workable for dogleg ball placement for example? Thanks again for all the great vids you guys put out.
Any driver can be workable if fit correctly, the only variable that would make a driver harder to curve is if it produced more spin versus others. Higher spin rate will create a more stable ball flight making it less likely to curve.
Great review as usual guys would love to know how you have found the performance on these drivers in the 90-95mph swing speed range. I currently use a Callaway GBB Alpha 815 with a Graphite Design BB6 Stiff usual carry 235-240, would be keen to know where you think a good starting point would be as I think its time to upgrade.
Always recommend you visit a custom fitting shop with as many options as possible, offerings from Callaway, Taylormade, Titleist, PING, etc. are all very good this year but until you test them for your own swing you won't know which is the best performer for you.
You guys have any experience with the 2016 jpx900 driver? I'm finding it straighter and easier to launch than my M3 ......I'm considering TS2/3 but unsure if the gains over jpx900/569 combo
We didn't do any testing with the JPX driver as we didn't carry it in the shop while it was a current model - in any case your best course of action would be to take your own driver to a fitting or demo session with the TS2/TS3 and compare launch monitor data.
@@clubchampionmedia thanks for very fast reply and I thoroughly enjoy the detailed approach to your fittings and reviews..... my findings with M3 over past 7 months is with lack of lateral adjustability, I'm pretty much stuck playing a fade.....top end distance has been seen and very potent however overall consistency and dispersion aren't as solid....I used jpx900 for previous 5 months , with the addition of the AVX ball I've indirectly lowered spin in driver!
I've been waiting for this one, liking the TS3 look more I emailed about your next available fitting as I know you will be heading south soon. You have the stock shafts as well?
I was just fitted for a TS3 ! I have been gaming a 917D2 for 2 years now. I loved it because of how straight it was but was never especially long with it. I’ve been in the gym over these last 2+ years and have been doing yoga so I’ve picked up a ton of speed. I went from around 99-100mph swing speed to 109-112 ( I can get it up to 120 when I really want to). My 917 D2 just wasn’t working for me anymore. I was on my 3rd shaft, had it cranked down to 8.75 and had even counterweighted it. I was on the verge of buying an M3 when the TS Line came out! After getting fit for both I chose the TS3 for 3 reasons. 1) the TS3 was longer for me on mishits. 2) Titleist has always done a great job of supporting lefties and so have earned some loyalty from me. 3) I’m an admitted Titleist fan boy. It was really close. Really close. If I could own both and switch back and forth between them for fun I would.
Great stuff guys. After watching this, I think it would be great if you could somehow packed all the top brand drivers in one video and compare them and may be give your opinion on which is suitable for what. (eg. TM for speed, Titleist for spin, etc.) I know that some people are for brand loyalty and some for the feel. But I'm sure it would help people choose their driver better if there are undeniable facts to see including your knowledge to back it up. Thanks for the great video.
I got fitted into a TS3 with Evenflow 6.0.........we did not adjust any of the "cartridge weights" while fitting. Which brings me to this question: After the fitting, I bought the "like" driver in the shop, and have now seen some left side misses and ball flights that I saw NONE of in my fitting. Given this, could you educate me on that I may think to try as far as adjusting weight in the back to help eliminate left side? Club was fit and currently sitting in the B1 setting. Thank you guys
@@skinheadyouth66 I had similar results. Just got fitted for TS3 and gained 25 yards on average, however can't give 100% credit to the TS3. The shaft that was best for me helped me increase my swing speed from 99 to 105/106mph. Biggest benefit of TS3 for me was reduced spin. I have been using a 907 D1 since 2004, which was spinning around 3200. With the TS3 I got that down to the low 2000s.
with a wafer thin crown....i'd be wary about amateurs that are just starting out in the game, to get this club... i've seen so many people, hit way too high on the head and hit the edge of the crown and crack it. i'd be very scared to damage this club as well.
Iran my swing speed is as fast or faster than Matt's my average carry with my driver is 290 295 mi spin rate is a little high I play a g400 lst with adila rip phenom nl tx shaft will tipping it an inch or inch and half lower my spin rate
I tried both at a Titleist Thursday event and TS3 was getting me 171 ball speed, 2200 spin, at 12.4 launch (112mph club) with the EvenFlow X shaft. Numbers were ok but didn’t love the feel of that shaft. They didn’t have any aftermarket shafts onsite in an X. Any recommendations for shafts to seek out and try for a moderate tempo?
You best hurry up guys twist face will be a thing of the past in a few months! ;-) Good old TM “re-inventing” the driver face just for Titleist to stick 2 fingers up at them! Why oh why haven’t they called the new clubs the FU TF2 & 3! ;-)

I am glad you agree with what I found, the TS3 seems to sit very very slightly shut.
Paul O'Neil lofting up to 10 from a 8.5 will shut the face up to 2 degrees almost at address. If this is what you saw with the TS3.

I’ve had two fittings to date. TS3 10.5 Average 15-20 yards carry, 5mph ball speed increase (note my current m2 has 12 degrees of loft) so not too shabby. Need to test an M4 10.5 too see if im getting similar results

Love the looks, feel, and sound. I could never get the spin below 3k on either the TS3 or TS2. Even with TPT, Pro Orange, just couldn't get it down.
Had a fitting fitting with TS2 with Evenflow shaft. My standard Rogue with Accra shaft outperformed TS2
one has a $400 shaft and one has a stock
I loved my 910 D3 and used it for 3 seasons before switching it out - tried 913 series (dud), 915 (close but not quite) and 917 (disappointing). Look forward to seeing if TS series can rope me back into their stable by outperforming my G400 Aldila NV2KXV...A++ review gents!!
My 915 D3 which I'm still gaming is a bit spinny and slow but she's a fairway finder. An extra 10 to 15 yards would be nice long as I still finding fairway.
I agree with Matt, they do feel 'soft', which I love! FWs are awesome too!
I've always liked smaller heads! Looking forward to the review of the TS4! :)
It's nice to see Titleist back in the top driver discussion. They sort of fell behind the leaders for several years.
Matty was BOMBING those!
It is good to see Titleist be competitive with the other drivers
Went to Titleist for a fitting, TS3 felt awesome & great numbers. Problem was, the best shaft was a Kiyoshi White with £250 upcharge. Guess my swing has expensive taste 😂😂
I picked up 9 yard compared to my old 917 d3 the club all around feels a lot better than the last model. Would love to see the 3 wood compared to others aswell.
The 3 wood sucks?
@@jimmyculp8756 no I decent but the tsr 3 wood go about as far as my tsi driver
Obviously I need a full fitting, just curious for my own thoughts to narrow things down
I tried the TS2, I have an avg swing speed of 99-101, launch about 11.8° and about 3° in to out
👍👍👍 can’t wait to try mine when I get home from Australia 🇦🇺
What did you mean about the G400 max at 11:48?
Just that the G400 max isn't designed for lower spin like a lot of other drivers are, Ping went after maximum forgiveness and stability with that head. That being said, it tends to be an excellent performer for a variety of swing speeds and skill levels (i.e. Tony Finau using it on the PGA Tour)
TXG Tour Experience Golf awesome. Thank you.
Looks like a good head design from Titleist. Competition for the best in driver heads.
Was Matt using a manufacturer shaft from Titleist?
I don't know if I missed that part...🤔
Using a TPT shaft for this test, same as my Ping driver
Out of interest what's the head weight of the TS3 compared to the TM M3 ?
I've been waiting for this one, liking the TS3 look more I emailed about your next available fitting as I know you will be heading south soon. You have the stock shafts as well?
When do you guys planning on doing PXG drivers review? I recall you guys saying it was going to be a day of PXG sometime soon.
Still planning to for sure William, exact date not sure but it's on our to-do list for sure
Good idea!
Great looking drivers. Not as nice as Rogue SZ though. Awesome review.
Do these really come with premium shafts?
they offer certain ones at no upcharge, yes
@@clubchampionmedia is any other company offering premium shafts with their drivers?
yup lots, they all offer a selection of no-charge premium shafts
Sorry guys, my wife says you need to shut the channel down. I think she’s sick of me buying new golf gear after watching the vids! 😂
😆
Perhaps you could use a 7 hcp at the shop with wild misses both ways. I’ll just move to Canada and leave her in the US 🤣
LOL your wife must have been talking to MrsBandit, my wife says the same thing⛳🤦♂️🤷♂️😜
@@austinsnider8864 you may get a spot on the next Ryder cup team......;)
OLDGOLD ouch. The wound hasn’t even started to scab yet! Give it awake so I can recover from this European ass kicking we received.
I got fitted into a TS3 with Evenflow 6.0.........we did not adjust any of the "cartridge weights" while fitting. Which brings me to this question:
After the fitting, I bought the "like" driver in the shop, and have now seen some left side misses and ball flights that I saw NONE of in my fitting. Given this, could you educate me on that I may think to try as far as adjusting weight in the back to help eliminate left side?
Club was fit and currently sitting in the B1 setting. Thank you guys
Would try moving the SureFit CG weight to the Fade setting as well, instructions on this page: www.titleist.com/fitting/golf-club-fitting/surefit
Got fitted not the TS3. I gained 30 yards over my previous driver... I’ll be ordering it for Christmas.
Into*
Lord Scott 30?
@@skinheadyouth66 I had similar results. Just got fitted for TS3 and gained 25 yards on average, however can't give 100% credit to the TS3. The shaft that was best for me helped me increase my swing speed from 99 to 105/106mph. Biggest benefit of TS3 for me was reduced spin. I have been using a 907 D1 since 2004, which was spinning around 3200. With the TS3 I got that down to the low 2000s.
Top of the morning! Get after it!
Getting a ts2 had a 913 d2 couldnt miss a fairway not very long
Here we go...an honest review coming up
Tried it, good driver but nothing that would make me replace my epic
with a wafer thin crown....i'd be wary about amateurs that are just starting out in the game, to get this club... i've seen so many people, hit way too high on the head and hit the edge of the crown and crack it. i'd be very scared to damage this club as well.
Iran my swing speed is as fast or faster than Matt's my average carry with my driver is 290 295 mi spin rate is a little high I play a g400 lst with adila rip phenom nl tx shaft will tipping it an inch or inch and half lower my spin rate
Unlikely that shaft tipping would change spin rate by anything noticeable, CG location and loft would play a much bigger role
Thank you for the help I will try going down from 8.5 to 7.9
Damian Plante I play phenom NL X shaft w GBB. at 8deg it is long
I tried both at a Titleist Thursday event and TS3 was getting me 171 ball speed, 2200 spin, at 12.4 launch (112mph club) with the EvenFlow X shaft. Numbers were ok but didn’t love the feel of that shaft. They didn’t have any aftermarket shafts onsite in an X. Any recommendations for shafts to seek out and try for a moderate tempo?
I’m coming from 910 with a 65gram X MCA blue board stock offering from Titleist.
Tensei Blue, Kuro Kage XT, TPT 15 series, Graphite Design IZ
Thanks guys
you never showed the playing position
You best hurry up guys twist face will be a thing of the past in a few months! ;-)
Good old TM “re-inventing” the driver face just for Titleist to stick 2 fingers up at them!
Why oh why haven’t they called the new clubs the FU TF2 & 3! ;-)
Yeah - we don't want the marketing fluff - so take your time re equipment. You are in a different league anyway...
Thinking txg needs to cut you two a bonus check for all the extra gear and fittings you've brought the business since you've started up
Well Ian owns the company so he's all set on both fronts 😆😆😆
Forgot to say, it was TS2 for me.😂
When you say cobra is better for a steep guy you mean if i have a steep swing the cobra would fit me the best
It does a good job of keeping the spin down and the launch angle up for the player that tends to be negative with their angle of attack
Here’s how NOT to fit a player ruclips.net/video/6gtI-WfCXyw/видео.html
