  • Hi! This video will show you how to crochet a simple and pretty texture which works beautifully for a washcloth! The stitch pattern is very easy to learn and it works up fairly quickly too. I love how it has a bubble like, feminine texture yet it's so simple to make. The written pattern can also be found on my blog at mamainastitch.com/. I hope that you enjoy it! I'm using these for my daughter's bath time! How would you use yours?

I'm a beginner. What I like about this is I get to practise my single and treble crochet. It's not too complicated, thanks for sharing.

I know this is an older video, but I wanted to let everyone know that I’ve heard this stitch pattern known as a faux popcorn stitch. A true popcorn stitch is made with 4-5 DC and then slip the last to the first DC in the back to create the bauble looking stitch. This is informally called a faux popcorn stitch because it looks like a true popcorn stitch without all the work. If there’s another name it goes by, I’d love to know it too. And the texture it creates is absolutely perfect for washcloths and dishcloths. That’s for creating the tutorial.

I don’t know the exact name either, however, I’ve used this alternating stitch in several patterns. It is beautiful and works up quickly! I’m starting now!!!

I finally found a pattern I can do! Except some of the bobbles ended up on the wrong side and some came out flat but then I realized what I was doing wrong and got the hang of it!

I just searched Berry stitch and your tutorial popped up, but it looks lovely, just wish we had the thicker cotton yarn here as we only have 4ply which is really thin :/

I like the way you explained the first two rows; however your instructions for the third row were not very clear. I found it very confusing as to where exactly your are to do the single crochets back across row.
