Perfect! Thank you for the quick reference and displaying it this way. This is the first knit project I actually finished!! It helped me to understand how the knitting process works. Thank you as I cuddle up cozy tonight under my new layer of perfect warmth.
When you finish and you have one last loop you cut the yarn from the skein leaving a fairly long tail, then you just pull that loop all the way out and pull the tail tight. That will make a knot. Hope that was helpful.
Love this it was so much help when I was just about to give up it was doctor Google to the rescue and your video was the one that I actually could understand
I made it! and I love the look of it, only problem is at the end when I tied it off.....it turned it into a circle. it now covers the back of my chair.
This is sooo awesome but PLEASE PLEASE one of the best parts of these videos is being able to see the final results! And how it looks on a piece of furniture, whether a bed or a couch or wrapped around you! PLEAEE show that. Thanks
Usually, in regular knitting at least, you just pull it tight so it forms a secure knot, then you just weave it in to hide it. I may be wrong, but when knitting with needles that's what you do.
Awesome! Love this video! In fact, I never comment on a video but since they didn't yammer about anything and just showed me exactly what I needed....I thought it was worth telling others....if you want to learn to make a yarn blanket??? @@HunleyBoarder no I haven't... My area was slow to catch on to this giant yarn. Michaels crafts has it but sold out. I'm still hoping! I have a question, how many skeins does it take to make a Blanket? The skiens look small. ❄

Great video!...But how do you finish it?? Do you just cut the end & tie it to a loop?? That doesn't seem right, though. Can someone please help?? I want to try it...

I can do this, and I want to do it as a weighted blanket. Any ideas how to do this loose cool weave, and does yarn exist that would make a 20lb blanket?
It’s a *great* idea to knit a blanket and send it to Australia. We are 5 days into 2020 and half of the country is burning down. Half a billion animals have tragically died, and blankets are being accepted for the animals that barely managed to escape but got sent to veterinary centres.
Hi I am trying to find out what stitch this would be if I were to crochet I’m looking for the way the picture looks I thought this was a single crochet?
Christina Lovesplanning !! This looks like a stockinette stitch normally found in knitting, however if you look up “crochet stockinette stitch” there are many tutorials showing it. Hope this helps!
Yes I thought the same thing! I just started making these chunky blankets and I was lost seeing her skip the first stitch. But the commenter above me makes sense. I've not been doing ACTUAL knitting for very long at all so I had no idea you sometimes skip the first stitch. 🤷♀️
Does anyone know how large of a blanket I should make for my daughter and her husband? She wants one large enough for them to snuggle under on the couch.. I appreciate any suggestions because I just don't know the standard Afghan sizes seem to be 60 in by 45 oh, I'm just unsure about how much more to add to it or if I should just double this size. Thank you in advance that anybody that can help me. I appreciate it very much. ☺️ have a beautiful night, be well.
just a question (ik I'm kinda late eek) but where did you get the think yarn from? I'm redoing my room, and I think this would be such a pretty touch to my otherwise kinda plain room :)
I’ve re done my blanket 4 times, and I’m still unable to make something that looks like the initial photo and would be an actual blanket. Not sure this project can really be done with only 1 skien of yarn (I’m knitting very small loops compared to this video)
The finished product looks tight(er) than the tutorial, when do you pull it tight? What do you do at the end to knot it off? I do like this video but for a beginner it does not explain a bit of what to do. I do not mean to be critical but the blanket looks like a knotted mess. Thank you for your video.
lmlu 57 I bought my wool when it was on clearance at Michaels. It was originally $40, but it was on sale for $14. Look out for sales, promotions and coupons!
Anything over $100 isn’t worth it. You might as well pay another $50 for real merino wool than buy these cheap roving yarns at hobby lobby or Michaels.
She did nine stitches but I think it was for speed to just show the steps. You can make this as large or small as you want. The first row as a crochet chain..
TurkeyXOI no she probably got more I made one and I got 4 balls of yarn and it still was a little bit small so I recommend you to get at least 5-6 balls of yarn. Hope I could help😊
Better for people who have kids. I bought a $200 merino wool blanket and my daughter let the cat in when I told her not to. First day of having it was ripped to shreds.
Well she was sponsored so probably didn't pay for it, but 100 dollars isnt bad for decent quality yarn like this. And a "done" blanket in this style and size will definitely a lot more that 50 dollars, easily 400-500+.
There are cheaper alternatives. Wal-Mart (in my area at least) now carries Roving yarn for $7. I'm making one now with 5 skeins of yarn for only $35. Most of the already completed blankets I've seen cost $180 or more! Plus, as the commenter above me put it, some people, like myself, are very passionate about creating my own stuff and the satisfaction that comes with it 💜

How do I keep adding these rolls in there and how do I make the final knot ?? This is very confusing for someone who has never done one single knitting job...
I feel that a blanket should compliment the room not to be a focus like this one. Not that keen. I would also like something where I create better regular tension throughout the blanket.
Ruth Kervin no shedding because its tube yarn. Inside is filled with stuffing so if you wash it, the water that is stuck between the tube will not be suctioned out as much during a load. So you’ll have to transfer this into a tub and squeeze out all the water before drying a it’s extreme heavy and a huge mess afterwards. Not only that, the knots will be out of alignment.
