    0:23 to improve the animation, both motions occurs at the same time, so that the nozzle is always within the longitudinal-vertical plane, and only "bends" downwards.

    One additional correction, if I may: 11:01 - The auxiliary air inlet is for the purpose of reducing air consumption in the front/main inlets, thereby minimizing the chance of ground debris being sucked into the engine. Other than that, great work. I'm sure it took quite some effort to put all of this together.

    Advice for learning animation/design/3D modeling? Your work is amazing

    • @sygdesignworks
      @sygdesignworks  2 года назад +7

      Thanks mate. I prefer using actual engineering software like Catia, Solidworks, because they give you more realistic results and then import them in animating software like Blender, Maya, Cinema 4D. In short, learn one engineering 3D modeling software and one animating software. Good Luck.

But in case if you want to do a realistic design or actual product design, then engineering software will let you do complex analysis and kinematics, which makes it more realistic and easier when you import it into any animating / rendering software, at least that's what I do. The first good but brief explanation of the Rolls-Royce air intake diverter system. But I'm not sure why it's used for vertical takeoff. Minimizes debris ingestion. Also comes into play after gaining forward velocity?

    Superb video presentation! How does the main landing gear strut wheel assembly rotate 90 degrees as it's raised into the wheel well?
    The mechanism(s) of this & other jet fighter aircraft are often complex(such as the rotating jet nozzle & the main landing gear strut with 90 degree rotation of the wheel assembly), & this complexity would seem to create less reliability, regardless of precise build quality & materials. But I realize the complexity is necessary for the aircraft's capabilities & performance.

    • @sygdesignworks
      @sygdesignworks  Год назад +3

      The main reason being the internal weapons bay. Stealth fighters like F-22 and F-35 has internal weapons bay. Usually that's the place for landing gears in other non-stealth fighter jets. So the landing gears must twist and turn just to retract. Like you said, the complexity is necessary. Thanks for watching!

    Awesome animation! I cannot even imagine, how hard was it to make this video. Keep it up, man!
    Just one question-When the thrust nozzle is changing its setting, there is a moment, in which the thrust is being send to the right of the plane, doesn't this cause problems?

    • @sygdesignworks
      @sygdesignworks  Год назад +4

      Good observation. These are simple but important questions the engineers won't answer for obvious reasons. But what I think is, that sideways moment is very quick, so the yaw is negligible? I'm not sure. I guess the flight computers will handle it somehow. And yes, it was difficult making the animation, but as you can see, it was totally worth it!! Thanks for watching!!

    This is really cool. I just wish you would have included the Convair 200 instead of the yak 141. The Convair 200 was already designed and its three bearing swivel nozzle engine was already prototyped before the yak 141. There’s actually a big debate whether the cancellation of the Convair 200 allowed soviet spies to get technical information about it or if the Yakovlev design bureau just used it as inspiration. Either way, the fact that everyone attributes Convair’s work to Yakovlev is a bit of a shame. I also wish there was some information about the way the lift fan clutch worked because some sort of magic must be used to interface with a running jet engine, but I would understand if that was still classified. Otherwise, great work and thanks for the video!
