Dude you can tell this mod was created from a sheer love of the game. Everything from the interactive band to the hand drawn scenes is just devotion incarnate . Especially how the drummer and guitarist change their sprites to reflect the track! Outstanding!

Even though CJ is a singer, I think he’s meant to be a background singer instead of someone up front, like Ruby. That’s why they work so well together in the third song, while CJ sounds bad by himself, he and Ruby both have good voices that go well together.

It's difficult writing a generally prideful character with enough of a hint of humility and sportsmanship to remain likable, as well as writing a meek character with enough small bursts of determination to show that their meekness belies their potential, and this dude managed to do both in this small mod of an indie rhythm game.

Fun fact: When CJ was first created, he was originally going to be a My Hero Academia OC and had a superhero alter-ego called Ink Punisher, but this concept was dropped later on and he became a character not related to MHA at all.
