If you look closely, when it reaches Girlfriend, she is clearly struggling to keep her cool, resisting some sort of effect. When it reaches Boyfriend, he immediately goes into a rage filled state similar to Whitty's. Is his Ballistic mode an AOE? Edit: Yes, I know it's late for an edit, but I wanted to mention how BF and GF are burnt out from the raw emotion when the effect ends, so the field is definitely a rage provoker at the least.
I love how BF's icy hair starts cracking and melting after his fight with Whitty as a sign that he used a lot of energy fighting him at 7:45. Just goes to show how much detail this guy puts in his animations.

Some things I've noticed about part 2 specifically is that what gives whitty the power isn't the anger itself. It's the aura that allows his powers to grow out of his control. And we know that's something that happens because of 2 obvious, but one subtle feature Obviously girlfriend and boyfriend have their powers magnified, bf starts being able to match whitty, and gf actually being able to interact with the song instead of protecting herself. But before the aura takes over, notice how bf can't echo the little whitty heads that attempt to blast him. Nor the large whitty head that whitty throws at him. It's not like he can't at all, we see in part 1 that he can replicate the shrapnel attack.
Update: Now the gang has to face off even bigger threats hunting for Whitty: The SCP Foundation, The Chaos Insurgency and The G.O.C. /j -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ Ok... I thought Updike was super confused because in the middle of chaos all he found was two dumb kids. the accelerant mix is so well made/detailed, having all the shots sync up in some way or form whether it be updike, the bots, whitty, sunday or a combination shooting, sunday being the equivalent of tricky on the original, it all fits together so perfectly.

To be honest, I agree with ya. If that even did work, he would blow up and most likely hurt Updike. Also, it would be a Certified Explosives Specialist (CES) that would study him. And yes, I did have to look that up.

I don't think I'll ever get over the ballistic animation. Specifically, when Whitty starts the rush after the second bomb volley. Whitty's ballistic rush is just an expulsion of pure rage (and probably fear bc of Updike) sending untraceable amounts of fire in every direction. All of his animations play at the same time in lineart and it feels monstrously powerful. First rush round sends GF ballistic, having her hold out for as long as she can. Second round sends BF ballistic too. BF's ballistic rush is clearly more controlled. Rather than being a pure expulsion of power, it's focused down to a single target; Whitty. BF is using everything he's got and despite that, Whitty's interludes are capable of outputting enough heat for his fire to take precedence in the animation over the snowstorm. Even at a disadvantaged position, even when in clear excruciating pain, we still get the feeling that Whitty is the more powerful of the two. That is, of course, until he's extinguished by the snowstorm. Anyway what im saying by all this is that I love this animation to bits. Theres so much thought and character put into this fight and its not going unappreciated

Out of the entirety of "Remorse", what's your favorite part? (mine is when Updike uses the Unmasking Light, it feels so bizarre, yet calm and relaxing) (No, really, that melody got stuck in my head for the past week, even in my sleep, and I still can't get it off)
I love that in 13:02 when bf uses echo it shows that updike is actually scared and we learn later on that he is actually scared but has to do this to protect people. Small detail that you wouldnt notice until you rewatch it very cool :D

Theory: the sheild around gf is a sound barier instead of a, well, barrier. Whrn her sheild was down, Whitty's explosion of fire and the hundreds of fireballs after didnt hurt her, but she covered her ears when she heard the sirens.
I am honestly fascinated by the animation its just filled with character if the Whitty series was seriously like this it would have been different on its impact
Love the little detail of the red part of BF's shirt turning blue when his eyes turn to arrows. It's super easy to miss, but it's just such a, heh, cool detail to include that you really didn't need to. Your work is excellent, Chino.
I don't think I've gone a day without watching this, it's just so good. The attention to detail, all the little things you might not notice at first, all of it! It's seriously so good that I had to make a separate playlist for it, despite already having it in two.
I never thought I'd see a whole series, let alone a different interpretation of the Whitty week. The last part was surely a well made one. Part 2 had just GF being voiced, so seeing everyone voiced was fun to witness.. (Except BF because beep bop). I really can't wait to see what you have in store in the future! Good luck!
I literally love boyfriends personality in your animations. He has an ability to echo people or in this case, bombs. I love it. Its so cute and suits him so well! The ballistic animation is amazing. Girlfriend acts like this is all normal, which probably is for them
As someone who's attempted animation before, I know how much time and effort these take. And the fact that you were able to make this series is just amazing to me. You've truly outdone yourself, and this stuff pulls on are heart strings, amazing job.
I love the fact that in the first fight it takes a few seconds for both of them to get to their full power as they have to "warm up" a little bit. Amazing work on all 3 of these!

It's called "Unmasking Light" and it allows you to see someone's hidden emotions, intentions and powers/abilities. The BoyFriend had three; two of them taken straight from the player's controls, and the third being the ability to copy and reverse the enemy's abilities, hence "~echoing~". Updike was able to identify a very weak part of CBF (Short for Corrupted BoyFriend, if you haven't seen the Corruption Mod), that was spreading within him. This probably means, by the time the VS. Hex Animation is done, with Hex and I.R.I.S. making an appearance, The BoyFriend will lose consciousness and surrender to the Corruption, thus making an entire Corruption series. When The BoyFriend echoed the Unmasking Light back to Updike, he was able to see his own ability, and a deep, deep suffering in him. The Boyfriend decided to let The GirlFriend know later on, and she agreed to try to sort this out the pacific way. However, Whitty entered before they could do anything, so they decided to leave and let them two talk. BUT CAN WE TAKE A MOMENT TO REALIZE HOW MUCH OF A HEADACHE THE BOYFRIEND MUST HAVE HAD WHEN THE DRONE STABBED HIM IN THE HEAD!?!?!?!?
I just realised something in Part 2. When GF and BF are in the main area, GF has her shield and BF is fine. However, the FIRST MOMENT they get into the "reality tearing" area, they go absolutely absurd, or "ballistic". Is Whitty's Ballistic area an AoE?

This is the best series of animation you’ve done. Innovative concepts with the heating up and cooling down of Whitty and BF in the first one, BF’s ice magic from GF in the second, as well as the story driven third pat with unique Updike sprites. I love what you’ve done. There never were enough unique sprites or frames of the characters in their base game and or mod, and you’ve shot that through the roof. Every scene that I saw with Updike and Whitty made me sit up on the edge of my seat, mainly during the Accelerant cover. Sunday and HellCarol are beautiful additions to all of the chaos. This is a masterpiece.
Can someone explain to me about Boyfriend’s “Echo” power please, so I may get a better understanding of how it works? My best impression of it from reading some comments and dialogue is that it’s similar to cliche fighters learning all they need to know from fighting.
Nevermind: watched the video that explains this. Echo is literally the power of a copycat, similar to Monama’s copycat quirk. When Boyfriends “in tune” he can use what his opponent has in terms of powers.
Basically Bf is the equivalent of Emerl from sonic fighter, copying his opponents special abilities… actually now that I think about it, BF has no personality til the fandom gives him one… wait was bf Emerl in disguise?! O-O OMG HE ISNT DEAD?!

How did it take me THIS LONG to find this? This is everything I've ever wanted from a Whitty story! Getting to talk about his origins a bit, showing off his pyrokinesis, it's just... mmm, chef's kiss!

It's called "Unmasking Light" and it allows you to see someone's hidden emotions, intentions and powers/abilities. The BoyFriend had three; two of them taken straight from the player's controls, and the third being the ability to copy and reverse the enemy's abilities, hence "~echoing~". Updike was able to identify a very weak part of CBF (Short for Corrupted BoyFriend, if you haven't seen the Corruption Mod), that was spreading within him. This probably means, by the time the VS. Hex Animation is done, with Hex and I.R.I.S. making an appearance, The BoyFriend will lose consciousness and surrender to the Corruption, thus making an entire Corruption series. When The BoyFriend echoed the Unmasking Light back to Updike, he was able to see his own ability, and a deep, deep suffering in him. The Boyfriend decided to let The GirlFriend know later on, and she agreed to try to sort this out the pacific way. However, Whitty entered before they could do anything, so they decided to leave and let them two talk.

This is the best series of animation you’ve done. Innovative concepts with the heating up and cooling down of Whitty and BF in the first one, BF’s ice magic from GF in the second, as well as the story driven third pat with unique Updike sprites. I love what you’ve done. There never were enough unique sprites or frames of the characters in their base game and or mod, and you’ve shot that through the roof. Every scene that I saw with Updike and Whitty made me sit up on the edge of my seat, mainly during the Accelerant cover. Sunday and HellCarol are beautiful additions to all of the chaos. This is a masterpiece.

Can someone explain to me about Boyfriend’s “Echo” power please, so I may get a better understanding of how it works? My best impression of it from reading some comments and dialogue is that it’s similar to cliche fighters learning all they need to know from fighting.
Nevermind: watched the video that explains this. Echo is literally the power of a copycat, similar to Monama’s copycat quirk. When Boyfriends “in tune” he can use what his opponent has in terms of powers.
Basically Bf is the equivalent of Emerl from sonic fighter, copying his opponents special abilities… actually now that I think about it, BF has no personality til the fandom gives him one… wait was bf Emerl in disguise?! O-O OMG HE ISNT DEAD?!
